My family & I have been loyal customers to Tim & his superb team for decades. Writing this review of the Body Shop, specifically Omesh (Mesh), for his world-class body work and customer service. As a woman coming in alone to a body shop, I made sure to ask my husband, friends, and family what repair would be needed for the damage to my back driver-side door and what a reasonable quote should be. When I met with 'Mesh, he gave me 3 options that varied in price & time spent. He then made his professional recommendation and gave me time to mull it over with my husband. What I loved about this experience was that 'Mesh (like everyone there) is super kind, he wasn't at all pushy, and he quoted within my expectation of FMV for the work so he gained my absolute trust. Ultimately, we took Mesh's recommendation to order & paint a replacement door because of a seam that could not be replicated/repaired to perfection. He took the proper color code for my car & even when the replacement came in, he called me right away to tell me that the new door was not "clean" aka without imperfection and he had already ordered another replacement. Car was finished within 3 days of dropping it off. Besides the beautiful finished product and Grade-A workmanship, what made this experience noteworthy was Omesh's excellent communication, wonderful demeanor, and trustworthiness. I can't say enough good things about Tim and his team at Master Mechanix. I found Master Mechanix through my insurance company when my car was broken into and damaged the Friday before July 4th weekend. I had called a few other places and no one else could take my car. Which was a huge problem since my windows were smashed in along with one of the doors (not driveable), I park outside and it was raining. Tim was the 7th or 8th place I called from my insurance company's website. Maybe it was the desperation in my voice or that he's a really nice guy, but he helped me arrange a tow with my insurance company and stored my car for me in his shop until the parts would be in the following week. He was super upfront with the time frame due to the holiday and the parts he needed and kept me in the loop the entire time. I kept meaning to write this review, but recently a neighbor asked me if I knew any good mechanics in the area of Riverdale/Yonkers and I immediately recommended Tim and his team. So I get into an accident and my Jeep's entire front end is now in my trunk. Allstate gives me this place and tells me they will call to make the appointment. I get the call and bring in my Jeep. The owner greeted me gave me a handshake and explained how the process would work. He was very nice and told me evrything would be done in about a week. To make matters even better, I was just about to ask him for the number of a local taxi company to get home, when he says "Hey do you need a ride home?". Believe the hype. This is EVERYTHING anyone wants in a body shop: friendly, honest, and reliable. I called to get some work done on a rainy day and, since I have an infant, I asked if there was somewhere warm I could hang out while my car got worked on. The friendliest receptionist ever, Leslie, says, "Oh, don't worry. We'll just take you home." Huh? Wait. What? Yep. They drove me home. They checked out my car while I was warm at home and called me to give me a quote BEFORE they did the work. I consented to the work and then they called me back to let me know that it would actually be cheaper since they found something wasn't as bad as they thought. SCORE!! They picked me up from home a few hours later once the work was (impeccably) done and I had a great conversation with Craig on my way back to the shop in my car. From the moment I went for the estimate until my keys were handed back to me, the experience was the most comfortable I've ever had when dealing my vehicles. The car service itself was excellent - very fast and done well. The lady at the front desk, however, was impossible to deal with and extremely rude. I walked in and she completely ignored me for a good 5 minutes. When she finally acknowledged me she was so short with me that I didn't have time to talk to her about how my car was a company car with its own payment procedures (this shop was listed as accepting of this payment form, which is why I picked it). After service I informed her of the payment and she got livid. She asked why I wouldn't tell her this initially and now I've created so much more work for her that she would've turned me away initially if I had told her. Was really disappointed. I drove a really long way to have my ac fixed, because I heard they were good. I was quoted $1500 by Tim who stated pieces had broken off and clogged my compressor; he added that my car was "old as the flood" and certain parts might be rusted together and would have to be reformed by machine. I know "15" is the "magic number" because I know someone in the trade, but I traveled farther, because thought Tim would be more honest. Also, it's an American car made after 2000. Why would you need to create parts by machine when you could just buy the entire assembly, which was fairly cheap (about $225 list) for my vehicle, instead of implying it might cost closer to $2000 to grind new parts? Also, the compressor kicked in, so it worked. Car just wasn't getting cold. Just...very disappointed, moreso in the person and the reputation that preceded him than the quote. Not trying to attack MM or anything. I don't take much personally these days.. :/ read more

Unfortunately I had very bad experience with Master Mechanics shop especially with Tim. Recently I had small accident where my car was damaged on rear door and quarter panel. Person who hit my cars suggested master mechanic. He convince me that is the best shop in Winchester and great price. I did some research, all review were good. I met Tim and decided to go ahead and repair my car there. My car is 2013 Kia Optima. Since is new car I was really worried about it( I am leasing it) I specifically told Tim that I don't want any junkyard parts on it. He said don't worry I am ordering new door with Kia and you car will be like new. I called him to find out when my car is going to be ready. He said Friday morning I will call you. Friday , pm no one called me. I called my self , he said car is ready. When I pick up my car i want it to cry. Tim was not there, (Saturday morning). Paint did not match, dust, hair under paint. All the molding was and quarter panel crooked. Over sprayed tail light. I made appointment to speak to Tim. In few days paint start to come off from the door. When I showed him all that, he said oh OK so what you want to do? You want me to fix it or not. He did not even apologized to me. He used junkyard red door to my pearl white car. He lied to our faces that Kia send him red door with clear polish on it. I will never recommend master mechanics to any one. read more

Even though I moved an hour north of Yonkers, I still bring my Subaru here for all maintenance and repairs. I went in for my 100,000 mile maintenance this week. I had just been told by Midas that I needed all new belts, new tires, alignment, struts, etc. etc. etc. Tim at Master Mechanix worked on my car and even took it for a drive to listen for a noise I had been hearing. He replaced the belts but told me I didn't need the struts and I could wait to get new tires. Another job well done. I won't go anywhere else. read more

I first learned about Master Mechanix when I was new to Westchester and buying a used car. Somebody recommended them to check out the car prior to purchasing. It was right in the middle of Hurricane Sandy and Tim and his staff were awesome. He gave me a very detailed report on the vehicle and didn't charge a penny. I ended up buying the car (no regrets) and taking it to Master Mechanix for all of the service. I've always had positive experiences, though sometimes the wait time is really long, but that's because they're doing a thorough job! I'm finally bothering to write this review, though, because of my most recent positive experience. On Monday morning (my birthday no less!) I got in the car and the brakes wouldn't work right. I blew right through the first stop sign! I was totally freaked out and my boyfriend offered to drive the car to the nearest mechanic, 4 blocks away (the brakes worked if you pumped them). That mechanic kept the car for the day and said there was absolutely nothing wrong with the brakes and that he drove the car on the Saw Mill and didn't feel a problem. I picked it up the next day, drove 1 block to work, and immediately turned around and put the car in the driveway. The brakes were definitely not right! Off to Tim we went! He spent an entire day looking at the car and said the brakes did look completely normal and in good condition. However, he drove the car and agreed that there was definitely something wrong. He kept the car another 2 days, found the problem, did a number of other necessary repairs (oil change, inspection, headlight bulb, etc), and the car is driving just fine. Tim and his crew are the best. I have been coming here for a few years and every time I come in , the crew is the same. That tells me they know what they're doing and that Tim is the kind of employer crew wants to stick with. That means a lot to me. Now my husband brings his car there as well. Tim talks to us , explains ... very reassuring. He also works, gets his hands dirty. Last time we brought our car in, Tim was on his back underneath a vehicle. Leslie at the desk is pleasant, accommodating. Bottom line, whatever is wrong with our cars gets repaired properly, reasonably priced and no need to bring back for same problem. Before I even got to this store I called them twice, first to set up an appointment, and second to make sure there was an appointment made and they didn't even remember making an appointment so I made another they were rude and not helpful at all over the phone basically saying to come in for an estimate Come in with the car, they do not have me down for an appointment of course, I bring the bumper and headlights I wanted replaced in the car and even with my own parts they estimate $950 are you kidding? they would have probably charged even more had I gone through with it they were not attentive to the car at all and would rather pay attention to other customers this place is a joke and gets more hype than its worth, 1 star read more
