I would like to take a moment to recognize Richard Homme, the manager at the Allerton Bronx location, for his outstanding customer service and dedication. I had been dealing with the same issue with my vehicle for several weeks and visited the Allerton location three weekends in a row trying to get it resolved. Richard went above and beyond to ensure my concerns were taken seriously and that the problem was properly diagnosed and fixed. He even arranged for me to visit another location in Mount Vernon to make sure the issue was fully resolved. His commitment to customer satisfaction truly stands out. As a woman, taking a vehicle in for service can sometimes be stressful because there's always a concern about being taken advantage of or being told repairs are needed that aren't actually necessary. Richard made me feel comfortable, respected, and confident throughout the entire process. Thanks to his persistence, professionalism, and genuine concern for helping me, my vehicle issue was finally fixed. Because of Richard and the exceptional service he provided, I will continue to choose Mavis for my future vehicle maintenance and repairs. Thank you, Richard, for going the extra mile. Your dedication does not go unnoticed. sincerely, Joanna Edwards. read more

En route to picking up a friend to take her to an urgent doctor's appointment I got a flat tire. I was near Mavis and went there right away. When I explained the situation, and how I needed to pick up a friend in a half hour, the person whom I presume is the manager was unbelievably kind and got a mechanic to immediately fix my flat. He could not have been nicer--and I got my friend to the doctor on time! He now has a customer for life! read more

Excellent service and value! I've been going to this Mavis location for over 8 years now, getting tires, brakes, shocks, and struts replaced, as well as NYS inspections. Harry, Angel and their team get the job done, and I trust their work and judgement. It is a very busy shop, so plan to leave the car and do other errands while the repairs are done. read more

The guys here are great. Dante is friendly and professional. I keep coming back here because of the great service provided.

Early Bird gets the worm. Placed a order for my Spare tire the day before with the corporate office. When you do so, they tend to give you a discount. Luckily I called the day before because when I called my usual go to Mavis, some other guy who must of been new, didn't even bother to give a discount being that I been there several times especially when I bought all 5 tires there. Showed up to Riverdale and it's very spacious. Went on a Sunday, 3 cars ahead of me and I was in and out less then an hour. Staff seems cool and the older man who relaxed my tired went above and beyond. Very friendly much older man.I guess your wait depends on what type of work your getting done. Show up early so you can be one of the first to be in and out. read more

Mavis Discount Tire - Very spacious with 8 car working spots inside. - Tires Near Me - Bronx, New York

Tires... especially all Four truck tires, are not a Bill you look forward to fitting especially during the holidays. However, safety is important especially when dealing with the schizophrenia of Mother Nature during a NY winter. Basically, I didn't have a choice and elected to just rip off the band-aid and get it over with. So this is how I spent my Saturday afternoon, getting new shoes for my baby. I've been loyal to my mechanic for 10+ years now and this is the location he uses for tires. When I arrived my tires were already ordered and I really only had to drop the car and wait. The guys here are truly nice, professional and understanding. Especially Dante, who is the gentlemen I usually deal with as we tell stories about my crazy mechanic (hey Jose). I have been here it the past also arranged by my mechanic who is across the street. Every time my experience has been one of efficient work done without any worries and left feeling satisfied. {This is import because earlier in the week I went to an alternate location on my own (NOT HERE), where everyone was nice. However, I had to return the next day to have the job reassessed because it was incomplete.} Just A Note: Dante is a gem and if you don't want to wait arrive early especially on weekends. read more

You're probably looking for a reliable mechanic or an honest place to buy tires. Mavis Riverdale is the best place and I'll tell you why: 1) Experience - The mechanics are all very experienced and do exceptional work. My car is over 200,000 miles and runs extremely well. Tires, springs, suspension, ball joints, CV joints, wheel alignments, brakes, oil changes, and inspections have been done here for years. If you want a worry-free experience and to save time and money, you need experienced mechanics you can trust. 2) Affordable - The salesmen are knowledgeable about tires and can recommend you the best tires for you price range. They will even let you know about manufacturer discounts and tell you how to do paperwork to get your prepaid gift cards in the mail. Tires are like shoes and are the most important upgrade you can make. Your motor can make all the power in the world, but that doesn't matter if you can't distribute power to the road, maneuver safely, or stop on time. Affordable and safe tires, will save you money and allow you to get the most out of your vehicle. You know a lot about a person by the shoes they wear, same thing for cars and tires. 3) Coverage - With Mavis you are never alone. If I'm far away from my primary Mavis, there is always another one close by for emergencies. If you have a warranty with Mavis, you can step into any Mavis and they will honor it. What good is it to have a warranty when you're 300 miles away from your garage? You'll spend more money out of pocket to a place you don't know. At Mavis, even if you're on a road trip, you will be close to another Mavis. This saves you money, because they are close by, have your previous maintenance records, and can honor your warranty. You'll be on your way in no time and have work performed by a name trusted by many! Mavis in Riverdale has an excellent team of mechanics and salesmen. They are professional and easy to deal with. I highly recommend them! read more

I personally love these guys. I've been at this location twice, once to get all four tires replaced and later to get the tires rotated. during that service they very helpfully installed my new splashguard for I think 20 bucks. service is always been quick efficient. They've been polite both me and my dogs. I have zero problems. read more

Came here based on recommendation of a mechanic. What I didn't know was how much time it would take. Was told 1.5-2 hours, still sitting in the waiting room 4 hours later and I don't expect to be out of here anytime soon as I'm looking at my car untouched to compete the alignment process. As I watched them working on the tires, I had to correct them because I requested the front tires move to the back and the new tires to the front. Glad I caught that. This is my first time here, but I won't ever return. Told the person who recommended me as well, it was a bad recommendation. Time is valuable and my day was taken from me. read more

DANGER!!! Do not use! I scheduled a NY State Inspection, tire rotation, and tire examination due to TPS light on December 23. On Sunday, December 27, while traveling on highway there was a crunching sound and my brakes stopped working. I made it to the side of the road ok. I had my car towed off the highway ($203.73) to a local repair shop as I was 80 miles from home. No visible damage underneath but the brakes didn't work neither the emergency brakes. After two days, I got an estimate after investigation by Right on Point Automotive in Salt Point, NY. Here is the literal mechanic's description of the issues (I would post a picture of the actual bill, but Yelp does not allow attachments.): -Check noises from rear of car while driving, car unsafe to drive -found lug stud broke off on r/r wheel and lug stud fell inside rear drum and caused damage to parking brake shoes and destroyed all parking brake components, had to use excessive force to remove the 5 other remaining stripped out lug studs that were holding the rear wheels on, 2 total rear lug studs and lug nuts were replaced on drivers side rear, replaced pass. Side rear brake drum also so car would be drivable for customer. Still needs parking brake components fixed on pass. Rear tire. (Labor: $442.73, Parts: $128.24) The $98 tire repair and inspection from Mavis turned into a $700+ repair that is not even done yet as I have more to fix. Mavis stripped 5 studs and nuts on my tires which needed to be replaced. Because of their unprofessional repair, my car then went into an emergency at 65 MPH bc Mavis broke a stud and didn't bother to fish it out and fix it. How do you remove and replace a tire and not notice a broken stud???? PS I have all parts that were replaced...again, I would show pic of stripped studs but Yelp doesn't allow images on reviews. I brought my suv to price some replacement tires, they took the type of tire that would afford me the best quality and performance. They also were able to do comparison pricing from other establishments I had been quoted pricing. Harry and his team are the best! Always helpful and honest. I've lived in the area all my life and always had difficulty finding a good, reliable mechanic. When I found Harry and Co. at Mavis on Bway in the Bronx, I knew I had finally found the right place. They are all very knowledgeable, reliable and respectful. Couldn't ask for a better team or shop. I called the other day to see if they could take a look at an older car I am considering purchasing, to see if it is worth buying or has any major problems. I got some good preliminary advice about the cars title etc, and am bringing it in tomorrow to have them look at it. They really are the best! read more

Avoid avoid and avoid. Brought the car in for an oil change and new brakes/sensors Mechanics couldn't perform a basic oil change and the car broke down on the highway - full on DRIVE TRAIN MALFUNCTION . Brake sensors were not installed correctly and brake light remained on. Good luck trying to get any type of solution or money back. A lot of other options in the area who are less expensive, perform better work and won't take as long to repair. Really low level of workmanship. read more

I had a flat tire and upon inspecting found a screw in the tread. I haven't had a flat in over 20yrs (for which I am grateful ) so I wasn't sure where to go to have it fixed. My brother suggested a tire place so I thought of Mavis, though I'd never been. These guys were so polite, explained my options well, and fixed my tire in about a half hour! And it was $20.67!!! They explained they do a plug and a patch together which should last the life of the tire. The rationale for both makes sense even to mechanics I have spoken to, as in the past most had said a plug is not good. I went when they opened so they weren't too crowded, keep in mind that plays a role in how long you wait. These guys were excellent, and so far the tire is as good as new. I can't even find the patch. Angel was very helpful, though all 3 men I spoke to really were. Mavis on Broadway in Riverdale, I highly recommend read more

Shout out to Mavis discount tire Center which save me a trip going all the way to New Jersey. I went to another mom and pop tire place in the Bronx in which a call before hand and asked if they had a Michelin tire specifically for my vehicle in which they stated yes and I made my way there coming all the way from Manhattan. Upon arriving at this mom and pop shop they tried to give me a tire called "Presa" which I know nothing of the brand but they said they had the tire I called for in which this wasted my time. My brother did a Google search for me and found this Mavis discount tire center 20 minutes from where I was that the mom and pop shop I called in and ask for the Michelin (245/40 R18 XL) the young lady stated that they had the tire available and I said I will be on my way. Upon arriving there were two cars already on the left one car in front of me and I was next up there was only an hour wait only because there were two guys in the shop and one of them went on break but it was raining and it's a Sunday so I didn't mind the time as long as the tire I was looking for was available in which it was. The young lady I spoke to was very knowledgeable and explained to me the difference is between a run flat tire and a regular tire and help me make the right choice in picking the correct tire for my vehicle which was a good look. I got my tire replaced because the one I had on had a slow leak I also got the insurance for the tire which is really good and she explained the benefits to me when I return to get the other sets as well, I will be returning to get those tires put on the rest of the vehicle slowly but surely and I will make this my go to place to get anything else done in regards to wheels and tired. read more

straight to the point. I don't leave any reviews but they deserve my time to write and advise the consumers. The communication from the call center, main office, etc. whoever, takes the appointments and orders over the phone and sends it to the shop sucks! The combination of messing up my tire order and the appointment was a total of three times. not once or twice. 3 freaking times!!! I went to my appointment today to get all 4 tires changed and only two were in stock. when I made the appointment over the phone they were 100% sure that all tires were in stock in that location. I wasted my time going over there for nothing. now I have to wait 2 days for the other 2 tires. they failed in communication. Let's see if they make up for work performance. next review is on performance read more
