calamari

We stopped by Sasquatch on our way to Lake Tahoe! We went on a Thursday evening and it was pretty busy. Thankfully there was one table left so we were seated right away. We shared the table with another small group and it was totally fine. The service was good and they have TVs if want to catch a game. We ordered the calamari to share and it came with hollandaise sauce. I ordered the smash burger with fries and both were really good! The fries had a seasoning that was really tasty. We wrapped up with the chocolate cake and ice cream!

French dip and linguini and clams. Yummmm!!!

I am ashamed to admit that we have lived here in Reno since 2004 and have never eaten here. HUGE mistake!!! The service was excellent, the food was amazing and the decor was super cool.

My friend, Angela F and I meet up once a month for a lunch date. For March, we decided on making the trek out to Verdi to sample the fare at Sasquach Tavern and Grill. This was a first time for her. My husband and I had eaten here a few years ago on our way home from California. So worth the return visit. Luckily, we got there early. The space is very small and very popular so it gets filled up quickly. We were greeted upon walking in and were seated in a large but cozy booth. Jessica, our fabulous waitperson, made us feel welcome and provided excellent service from beginning to end. I ordered the Chicken Caesar Wrap. My friend ordered the Rib Eye Sandwich. Both came with fries. The portions were HUGE! I was barely able to get through half of it. We appreciated take-home boxes filled with another meal (or two) later on. There was a bit of a wait on getting our food, but the place is small, busy, and I assume they have a small kitchen. This one of those places worth a return visit.

FUN place! Great food, easy to find in little Verdi NV. Service? Really confusing. Everyone who came in after us had their food -and in one case finished their food- before we saw ours. We were not in a hurry but we were annoyed. However we were so happy with the food that the rating had to be 5 stars. I had the steak quesadilla and my friend had the giant chicken caesar wrap. Both super flavorful and enough for 2 meals - I love leftovers!

We had heard good things about Sasquatch's in Verdi and we weren't disappointed. I had their fish (cod) and chips and my wife had the Sasquatch burger; both are house specialties. My plate had a generous 4 pieces of nicely batted fish and the fries were great. My wife's burger looked great too. We both said we'd come back again. Not knowing what to expect, I was surprised that it has a dimly lite bar and small dining area, but locals had the bar well occupied while we had one other couple enjoying the cuisine. The staff were attentive to our needs and the food worth going back for. I was impressed!

Only one waitress at lunchtime. But she was really good. Small place, tends to get crowded at dinner (I was told by a friend). We arrived early for lunch and there was still one booth and one table for two available. There were also two tables for 6. By the time we left, it was pretty busy. I opted for the blackened rib eye sandwich. I asked for medium rare, I got medium rare. Sandwich was way too much for me to eat. Took half home for dinner. Nancy opted for the Chicken Wrap .. also took half of it home. Funky little place with a full sized Sasquatch for decor. Food was excellent. Would definitely go back to try other options. For us it was a 20 minute drive from downtown Reno, but worth the trip.

What a beautiful Hidden Gem in the small town of Verdi. I called charge from the moment I walked in pleasantly greeted by multiple people told to set anywhere id like, very friendly and helpful with the menu. I stuck with the cheesecake adding mushrooms and onions and WOW great flavor the au just was super tasty and the bread for the sandwich was so fresh. Definitely will be back look forward to trying their breakfast

We've been to Sasquatch twice and each time we loved the service and the food. It's a smaller establishment but they can surprisingly fit large parties. The interior is warm, inviting and they have a fire place that's keeps you nice and warm if you sit next to it. This time around I had a grilled chicken salad. It was huge and I definitely had left overs. The veggies were nice and fresh and had a wonderful crunch to them. Our drink orders from the bar took a bit longer but we understood as they were a bit busy. Can't wait to come back! It's a little hidden gem.

We had a great experience here and will certainly be back. We had a larger group and they accommodated us right away. I tried their old fashioned which was very good. I ordered their Sweet'n Spicy Crispy Chicken Sandwich that is crispy buttermilk fried chicken tossed in their secret hot honey sauce with sweet butter chips, lettuce, and tomatoes served on a bun. It was tasty, messy, but tasty. The restaurant itself is smaller inside with a few booths and tables centered to accommodate larger groups if needed. We called ahead to make sure and I'd suggest doing the same if in a larger group. *Bonus points for having an awesome Sasquatch dressed in the appropriate attire for the Thanksgiving season.*

Cool place. A little small so it can get crowded. The bartender was awesome. The food was very good and great portions, hubby and I both have leftovers. I would definitely come back here.

Chicken Tacos are amazing!!!!

Always greeted at the door...We stop by on our way to Reno..Never disappointed. Food is always great and service is outstanding. Our server Felicia was amazing.. It does get busy at peak times so be aware.

Steamed clams. Huge and deep bowl full!!!

My friend Deb, drove us to Sasquatch on Saturday for their steamed clams. This was a large and deep bowl, filled full of little clams, and the most tasty broth I've ever had, with a side of garlic bread. Christine was a knowledgeable server, and friendly. The decor fits the theme perfectly. I can't wait to go back and try the lobster roll.

Steak dip sandwich
Lisa C.

Generous portions of fish and chips with a side of cole slaw salad. The prime rib dip and fries were good also. Service was good. Ambiance is lively, loud but fun. Outdoor seating available but was busy on a Sunday.

Fish tacos with side of onion rings. Pico was a bit too much on tacos and cheese dis not pair well with fish.

It's got a decent casino with slots, but no table games, it has a great convenience store with pretty much anything you would need, for food, you have a sit down restaurant, a Jack-in-the-Box for a quick bite, and there's also port of subs. They make excellent sandwiches. All of the employees I've ever dealt with here were very friendly. It doesn't have a hotel, but it does an RV park, and they also sell California lottery tickets here. This is a very popular place for locals, when there's a big jackpot. They don't have to drive up the hill to Truckee anymore. The lottery building is in the very back corner of the property, and when you walk in, you're in Nevada, but when you buy your tickets, you are in California. That's how they can get away with it. The gas station here is the best. The gas pumps have plenty of room, so you can even pull a trailer through. Plus, the gas prices are very comparable to what you would pay in town. You would think being the first or last stop in the state, as well as being right next to the freeway, they would jack up the prices, but they don't. You can also charge up your EV here. They have 16 Tesla superchargers, and you can also use them for non-Tesla vehicles. You may need an adapter. Do the research to find out for sure. This is just a great all-around stop.

We ordered the Dust Storm: a vanilla milkshake with chocolate bits, topped with a giant blondie skewered dramatically on top, plus whipped cream, sprinkles, and chocolate drizzle. The rim of the jar was coated in marshmallow dip and graham cracker crumbs because apparently subtlety has left the chat. Honestly, the presentation was on point and exactly the kind of milkshake kids dream about. Which is why we ordered it. My tween declared it "the best milkshake I've ever seen in my life," and honestly, that alone made it worth the stop on our mother-daughter trip. Taste-wise, it leaned very sweet for me and didn't have a ton of flavor depth beyond sugar overload. But clearly the goal here is maximal fun and aesthetic, and they absolutely nailed that. It's basically a photo op you can drink. The shop itself was surprisingly quiet when we visited in the evening--we had the whole place to ourselves--but there were games to play while waiting for our order (we pulled out Pick Up Sticks, which transported me straight back to my 90s childhood living room). The ladies at the counter were also incredibly kind and patient explaining the menu and flavors to us. If you're looking for an over-the-top dessert experience your kids will talk about for days, this is your place.
