Parking lot packed when the jackpot is high!
    Paul P.

Folks here are always helpful and friendly. Depending on the "jackpot" defines the lines. Arrive early generally helps avoid that. The line is for folks who want personalized service. If you want to buy lotto tickets enter through the side door to use the machines. Cash only, ATM is available on site. There is ice cream & sodas for sale. Generally clean and well maintained.

Quality/Quantity - This was my buddy's "go to" place for breakfast every morning before skiing. But they increased the price by $1 so we stopped coming, lol. Our "go to" breakfast was in the Sierra Cafe. They used to have pancakes, eggs, bacon/sausage, hash browns, etc. for only like $5-6 bucks. Atmosphere - Convenient in and out location. Casino, RV resort, gas station, etc. Open 24 hours. Plenty of parking in the back, but we have never had an issue getting a space up front either. Service - Good. We usually just go to the cafe. I have not used any of the other services. Nor have I gambled here. Price - Depends on what you buy/drink. Or depends on how much you gamble. Owner Comment - Congrats on your success with your 8-10+ locations...?

HUGE French Toast serving; very good. Bacon was typical/ greasy

First time here for convenience of being close to the border. Came into restaurant right as they opened at 8am on a Sunday. Seated right away, food came out little over 10 mins later. Good portion sizes for breakfast and the price. Very basic, but still yummy and waitresses were very nice. I have to dox a star for the women's restroom being closed as we came in, especially with who roams around the small casino. But still will return!

On our fist trip to do a little fishing at Stampede. We had all the gear ready and just needed ice. As always lots of people getting gas to go back to Ca.

It's my reliable breakfast stop when I stay near Reno. It's easy to park, get in the restaurant & order. During the pandemic they're wearing masks & keeping things spotless. I was seated quickly, had coffee within 2 minutes, ordered right away & was delivered a tasty breakfast of ham, eggs & hash browns within 5 minutes of ordering. I'll keep coming back!

Coming here on a holiday (Mother's Day) may have been a misjudgment/mistake. Upon arrival, my mother & I were waiting patiently at the front counter for 5 minutes. A female server (did not get her name) finally came up and asked how many of us were there, and we indicated a party of two for the outdoor patio area. We were informed that the seating would be prepared, as if we were going to be seated soon. Then, Sarah (server) came up to the front and informed us that there was actually a wait list (up to 15 minutes) and that a few parties were waiting in front of us. From there, the miscommunication began. After waiting a bit longer, Lucas (busser/server assistant) finally led us to our table outside. He asked for our drink and soup orders to get us started. He initially mentioned the soup of the day, which was the Chicken Tortilla Squash. Moments later, Sarah brought out a Tomato Bisque Soup instead. I informed her that I was extremely lost because that was not what I ordered. She said Lucas was incorrect and that the Tomato Bisque was the soup of the day. I understood, however, the bowl was immediately taken away from me. Sarah neither asked nor offered if I still wanted the soup (which I still did actually). After several moments, Sarah came to write down our order. I re-requested the soup and ordered the 1/2 lb Ham Steak breakfast plate, which came with toast, eggs, and hash browns. My mother asked for Chicken Tenders and the $9.99 Quiche Special - the slice of Bacon, Onion, and Swiss Quiche. Afterwards, we heard the nearby table ordering the quiche deal, too. However, they were presented with the option of either having the fruit or the side salad on the side. My mother was not afforded the opportunity at all, as Sarah failed to mention it. Upon food arrival, the quiche plate came with fruit. However, my mother would have preferred a side salad. This was another example of customer service lacking. Even though the execution of the food was good and met expectations, the customer service definitely left a lot of room to be desired throughout the entire dining experience. It was not as welcoming, attentive, and amiable as anticipated. The visit was filled with a lot of apologies, minimally short interactions, and miscommunications. Sarah ended up comping the bill, which was very unexpected. I was prepared to give one star, just because the service fell deeply beyond meeting expectations. However, the rating has been increased to two stars due to Sarah making it somewhat right at the end. All we wanted was a decent meal with kind service. I don't recommend visiting this restaurant on busy holidays, as they don't seem to have the capacity. This day was extremely off because that reason could be the factor.

We were given a coupon for 2 for one drinks at their Fireside Lounge, but the coupon was for drinks l$15 or less. The drinks on the menu were for $19 or more. We found a placard where there were 3 drinks for $15; up no one would wait on us and after 20 minutes we just left. We used to stay here often in the past for staycations, but resort fees and no locals discounts on room rates forced to stop. After the bad treatment by the front desk, the Fireside Lounge personnel, and the shabby service in Biscotti's I would not recommend staying here. We were very disappointed during a very stressful and trying time in our lives. On a positive note we were treated very well by the morning crew in Cafe Milano. We overlooked a train yard and metal recycling plant. If you looked up, instead of down, the view was quite nice. Then, it happened. Hot water was running brown in both sinks and the shower. I called the desk, they said let it run. We did. Still brown. The white wash cloths were discolored. She said the cold water is okay to drink. Ummm, no. I asked for bottled water to be sent up. Bed bugs, two room moves, and absolutely no mitigation plan!!!…read more I have never written a public review before, despite plenty of less than perfect experiences. I worked in the service industry for years and generally believe businesses deserve the opportunity to make things right. The Nugget had that opportunity and chose not to.. During our stay for Hot August Nights, we discovered bed bugs in room 1638. Security responded promptly, confirmed the issue, documented it, and moved us to room 2838. That replacement room had a long standing AC leak, saturated carpet, peeling wallpaper, and visible growth behind the wall covering. Engineering inspected it the next morning and told us we absolutely could not remain there. We were moved again, to room 1242. The frontline employees were kind, responsive, and genuinely helpful. Management was the problem. We repeatedly asked what the hotel could do to prevent us from carrying bed bugs into the next rooms or home with us. There was no laundry service, no heat treatment option, no containment procedure offered, and no written policy or protocol available when requested. We were allowed to move the same luggage and belongings from 1638 to 2838 and then to 1242 with no mitigation whatsoever. If we had picked up hitchhikers in the original room, we could easily have carried them through multiple hotel rooms and eventually home. We are now home and spending our own time laundering and heat treating our belongings because the property offered no assistance with this before our departure. Manager on Duty Cole Hughes was particularly disappointing. After initially avoiding speaking with us directly, he ultimately offered no meaningful assistance and told us, in substance, that once we left the property the problem would be ours. He then directed us back to Security, whose staff had already done far more to help us than management had. We requested management follow up in writing while we were still on property. No response. We requested information about what to do if we brought bed bugs home. No answer. We were told Risk Management would contact us in 7 to 15 business days. Before departure, I ultimately obtained the Risk Management phone number from Security myself. I called after returning home and left a message. This is what bothers me most: the Nugget responded to the rooms, but not to the guests. Moving us was necessary. It was not a complete response to a bed bug exposure. If this is what corporate ownership has turned guest service into, relocate, document, pass the customer to Risk Management, and wait for them to leave, it is incredibly disappointing. I am writing this because future guests should know: if you encounter bed bugs here, based on our experience, do not assume the property has a meaningful procedure in place to help prevent you from carrying them elsewhere or taking them home. Security and Engineering deserve credit. Management absolutely does not.
