I goofed up! I hadn't had Sarpino's in a couple months just because I'm trying to eat healthier in the past few months, but I started daydreaming of Beyond Meat sausage and Field Roast pepperoni pizza. I ignored it for a day or two and finally gave in. I ordered a Sarpino's pizza a couple of days ago, and it was so delicious that I ordered one again via phone tonight. Any time I used to order their pizza before, I'd always do it on my computer. But I wasn't at home yet and decided to order ahead of time. I have no clue why, but my phone did not recognize my location, which is MUCH closer to the Evanston location than the Albany Park location. Even though I was signed in and have only ever ordered from Evanston, the order went here anyway. By the time I got home, I was wondering why the delivery person wasn't here soon after. Thirty minutes later, I called and realized it was my fault. Still, the (manager?) didn't cancel my order and just told me it would take a little longer for the delivery guy to get here. I'd already tipped the delivery driver via the original order and apologized in person. The delivery guy was super nice (and chatty), and I was relieved he wasn't grumpy after traveling outside of their routing area. The vegetarian pizza was good (per usual). I never ordered the pizza so I can't say how it tastes because I'm not going to be paying extra $4 per toppings that should already be included in the create your own vegan deep dish pizza. They advertise $18.99 for a 12-in up to three toppings so as I'm going down the line choosing all those options including the three toppings My pricing came up to over $30 for one damn pizza and I guess the $18.99 is for cheese only is this ridiculous or what?? Did I really give them 4 stars at one time?? Must have been back when any pizza would suffice. #latenightpartying Today, not so much the case. I greatly dislike their brand. It's a microwaved pie. The bottom is soft like a bread taken from the oven before it's fully formed. The cheese toppings are cheap. When the pie goes cold it's like a layer of thick rubber on top. Cold slices don't handle the way a homemade pie does. This location fails their customers two-fold. One, toppings. Something I've noticed is that the meats get brutalized with overcooking. Or when choosing a vegetable, they're cheap with the portion size. Recently I got a spinach pie and it had as much as they would put on a pie with basil. A few strands... We ordered after 11pm on Uber Eats and it arrived hot and fresh. It was delicious. I would have given five stars but the app is a little confusing when ordering. It gives a standard price of $13.99 per pizza. It then adds an amount when you change the size. As a young aspiring chef here in Chicago I always try to keep an open mind when it comes to trying new restaurants. Delivery service alone always plays a key role in my decision on returning. I must say I was highly immpressed by not only the quickness of the delivery (35 Minutes) but of the take out packaging used to keep everything warm and fresh as if I was dining in. Very superb! I started out with an order of the spicy chicken wings, a half pound which was about 8 wings, not bad for 9 bucks compared to most places. I must say the only flaw this place had was the attention to detail on the online order. I specially requested 'extra crispy' wings and they were super soggy, but overall pretty tasty. I also appreciated there being 2 dipping sauces of my choice for the order, and not just one. Finally a place that understands how important something like 2 sauces can be! I also gave their Steak Sandwich a try as I do with most places that I'm brand new to. This was the highlight of the meal! Wow! They really out did themselves here! Not only was this steak made with amazing flavor but it was very juicy, tender meat. Also, the French Bread was toasted to perfection! I got way more than I bargained for and had a good amount to save for later! :) Overall this is a highly recommended restaurant for me! So after a long day spent in the ER after slipping on a patch of black ice, I was hungry. I ordered online an XL pizza, double pepperoni, double mushrooms, and yes I was charged for it. I tipped the driver a good 30% and waited for my pizza. The pizza arrived in a reasonable time, but my pizza only came with single pepperoni and mushrooms. Calling the location got me about a five minute wait on hold and no sh*ts given over the missing items on my pizza, The manager's answer was that fresh pizza is their priority, never mind paying for or getting extra items. Not getting anywhere with a discount on my tab on the missing items I paid for, I tried the nuclear option, OK, enjoy your review on Yelp. Five minutes later the manager calls back sounding apologetic, but another phone rings on his end and he promptly puts me on hold. Sorry, if I'm not your priority, don't bother calling me up. The pizza is hot and perfectly sized -adorably nestled in it's miniature pizza box. It comes with extra marinara on the side and a packet each of red pepper flakes and Parmesan cheese. For good measure they also include a pepperoncini, which I appreciate. The pizza is perfection: fluffy crust, savory sauce, and tons of stringy cheese. It perhaps had a bit more sauce than I like however when sauce is this good, who could complain? I ordered a caesar salad which I gobble up. Plenty of croutons and dressing on the side (2 little cups worth). It was great. Together, the salad and pizza live happily forever in my tummy. On a more practical note: This place has zero hype compared to the typical Chicago pizza chains. And it's clear to me that the quality is SOooooooo much better at small pizza joints like this. I think I am making a vow to avoid Chicago pizza chains, at least for a while. Out of all the pizza places I was searching for within the area, Sarpino's had the most variety of gourmet/specialty pizza choices. I want to say they have over 20 pizza specialties to choose from. I've gotten the Tuscany and House special pizza and have not disappoint so far. Of course they have a variety of food choices in their menu such as pastas, salads, calzones, desserts, and appetizers. The pizza is garbage. It tastes aweful and the texture of the dough is soft and slimy. The cheese and toppings lack any evidence of taste. Yeah they give you a jalapeño pepper and some packets of spices, but if the pizza does not hold its own then spices won't save it. Furthermore I'm not conditioned to putting this stuff on a pizza. Do we put A1 on a steak? I see many reviews actually praise how fast and easy their online ordering system is. They are open pretty late I see 3am actually. This seems to get people excited. But why? When I placed my order over the phone, the woman had a hard time understanding me, and I had a hard time understanding her. I wanted spaghetti and meat balls. I didn't know that would be 10 for baked spaghetti and another 4 dollars for 3 meatballs. 14 dollars for spaghetti and meatballs is a lot. I ordered mozzarella sticks for my daughter, and they didn't get delivered. No effort was made to correct the mistakes. A little customer service goes a long way, and there was none. I ordered delivery from this restarurant: Baked Lasagna (because it comes with breadsticks) Primo Capacolla Pizza I waited quite some time for the delivery to actually arrive. The delivery dude was cool and I took my food inside. I found out I was missing the breadsticks so I made a call to the restaurant. They tried blaming me by saying I put "no breadsticks" on the ticket, but they then corrected and said it was a common yelp occurrence for it to make the order not come with breadsticks. They offered to bring me more breadsticks or give me credit for breadsticks for my next order. We did not want to wait any longer for the breadsticks and did not plan to eat at this restaurant again in the future. I asked for a partial refund and they refused. I just decided that I would just take the loss this time. The lasagna was pretty awful. Very bland and the pasta was super soft. Pizza was okay. The crust was a bit too doughy, but flavors were average. The plus sides: free delivery they "tried" to make things right I would avoid this place unless you absolutely need food.
