The rolls were very good, but the customer service was awful. The girl that took my order acted like I was bothering her.

3.5 stars for a surprisingly fresh, made-to-order option at the mall food court! There's already two other food options at the Altamonte Mall that serve very similar food of noodles, rice, and grilled meat. Sarku is the "Japanese" variety and what sets this place apart is that the teriyaki options are cooked to order vs sitting in the heat lamps. So my shrimp and noodles came out perfectly cooked. They even had really good white sauce despite it's extra charge. The bento box is also a great option and my wife enjoyed her chicken teriyaki bento which included a generic california roll and some kind of gyoza (dumpling). The grill could use a bit more sear on meats and my noodles could be just a bit less wet. But I was surprised the food was actually pretty good!

chicken and rice bowl that i shamelessly used my hands to eat

I'm lost for words... was in the chick fil a line when i smelled something so good... saw the cooks next to me and was instantly drawn... ordered a chicken and shrimp plate and when i tell you I WAS EATING WITH MY LITERAL HANDS WHILE DRIVING TS WAS SO GOOD please y'all GO TO TRY THIS

It seems to never matter which location I'm at, the food and service is always on point. I've always got the shrimp teriyaki with fried rice. Don't forget to get some shrimp sauce, it's worth the extra change. You see the cook preparing your meal, and 99% of the time, they ask if you would like extra sauce. Recently they have started loyalty cards, if they would have started this when I was much younger, id probably have more loyalty cards than I could count. This place is one of the main reasons I go to malls. Even when traveling, I look up the closest mall, and check for Sarku Japan. I'll come back again, and again!

Love the food. Cheap for the quality for sure. Very fresh and tastes Japanese. The workers were friendly; the beef was a bit burnt though

The eel was cooked perfectly and with just the right amount of eel sauce. Similarly, the pac-man roll perfectly balanced the sweet and savory flavors and I loved the addition of the cream cheese to this roll. Lastly, the volcano roll had more perfectly cooked shrimp tempura (I normally don't eat the ends but it was fried the best way possible) and balanced flavors. I wound up eating my "leftovers" in the car. Go with a good appetite to enjoy everything!! For beverages, I had the Kizakura sake and absolutely loved it. Dry and tasted like water, just like I like

We stopped by and found it to be a nice little spot with good value and a welcoming vibe. The truffle fries arrived looking impressive with a crispy exterior, but fell short on flavor. They tasted more like premium fries than truffle fries, which was a letdown given what we were expecting. That said, they're still a solid appetizer if you're hungry. The real draw here is the happy hour. Three sushi rolls for around $18 is a pretty solid deal, and we appreciated that the happy hour menu keeps things simple with rolls featuring just one or two ingredients. Nothing fancy, but executed well. The sushi itself was good, fresh, and satisfying without being exceptional. The atmosphere is relaxed and the service was not noticeable (which sometimes is a very good thing), making it an easy place to grab dinner with friends. Would I make a special trip? Probably not. But if a friend wanted to meet up nearby or I was already in the area, I'd definitely return.

Food was quickly prepared and we barely waited for appetizers or entrees. The rolls were well made and portion size was relatively filling. As a person with a fish allergy that enjoys non-fish sushi, it was disappointing to have no chicken options and the only cooked sushi was steak. My companions loved their selections and would definitely return. Note: Place is kinda pricey so go prepared to spend what you need to be full.

I was thrilled that I made the choice to visit this restaurant for the first time. I was warmly greeted and seated right away. In fact, I entered right after opening time. My server was kind and unobtrusive. I perused the menu and she brought water while I was making my decisions. I opted for my standard, reliable choice of fried gyoza. There wasn't anything too extraordinary about this dish, but I was happy that the gyoza didn't taste stale. What really struck me was the delicious, nicely presented, tasty combination of flavors that I found in the Drama Queen roll. This roll contains spicy tuna, avocado, tempura flakes, yellowtail, jalepeno, black tobiko and spicy kimchee sauce. It was so delicious. And fresh! Way to go, Boku! I also ordered a Shrimp Tempura roll that contained avocado, butter lettuce, shrimp tempura, eel sauce and masago. I don't think I've had makimono with lettuce, but I was pleasantly surprised at the taste and texture. The interior seemed modern and had varying tones of gray. There's also a patio and you'll find a selection of beers and wine, including sake.

The Coconut Shrimp roll was sweet from the coconut sauce and the coconut added a yummy flavor and texture to the roll, as well. If you like coconut and sweet rolls, you'll love this. The Florida roll was GAS ! I just started getting into spicy food and spicy tuna recently and this was just perfect. The right amount of bite and the spicy tuna on top tasted so good. It seems like they mash it up, which makes it easier to chew than typical raw tuna. A great savory roll and the flavor profile was just right, adding the eel sauce was a nice touch. The Alaska Roll speaks for itself, I mean look at that mountain of crunch I got it both times I went (inadvertently). I think I got it right with the name... I was calling it the volcano roll, but that has mango sauce on it. This one has kani on top and cream cheese inside and probably shrimp tempura. I really loved this roll, like a mountain of flavor every bite. The atmosphere is small with authentic looking Japanese decor and quiet. A nice spot for a week day dinner (might get crowded on the weekend). Really great food though overall. Ate these rolls as leftovers both times and was good the next day

It's small, but well laid out, booths on one side, then a separate area with tables and the Sushi Bar in the back. We chose the Sushi Bar and were greeted by the 2 chefs. Since they did not have a liquor license yet, I brought 2 cans of Sapporo beer that I bought at Publix, they kindly brought me a glass and put the second one in the fridge for me. We ordered Edamame and several rolls as well as some Sashimi and Nigiri Sushi. Everything was fresh and tasty, you could see the care the chef's took in their preparation. We have been back several times since, and my wife sometimes bring us a care package after her Pilates class! Oh, and they have a liquor license now and a great selection of beer and Saké! Simply amazing for a strip mall Suhsi place!

I am a big fan of sushi and their sushi bowls are the next best thing to having 17 rolls of sushi all to myself. My usual go-to is the make your own sushi bowl. I load it up with all the rice, veggies, and raw tuna that the bowl can contain. There are plenty of other options if fish is not your thing. Their menu boasts several options for bowls, noodles, sushi, rolls, and mac & cheese. Pretty much any comfort food you could want, they have. I'm always greeted when I come into this location. The staff are very friendly and are ready to help if you need it. Even though the staff seems to always be making to go orders, they always make time for the guest who are inside the store as well. While my local store is usually busy with online and to go orders, the staff make time to ensure that the inside of the store is clean and cozy for guess who want to dine in as well. I always find a nice place to sit, and I can have a good laugh at the skeletons that decorate the front of the store. The store and the skeletons always match whatever holiday season we might be in. It's a nice personal touch to a relatively commercial store. I recommend this Sus Hi to anyone looking for a tasty, reliable meal!
