Walnut Atayef

Sarkis Pastry is easily the gold standard for Middle Eastern bakeries in LA. I'm a regular here, and my go-to is always the Walnut Atayef (pictured). The craftsmanship is incredible--every single one is the exact same size and texture, showing a level of detail most shops just skip. Beyond the walnut, their cheese Atayef is a must-try. They make their cheese fresh in-house, and you can absolutely taste the difference; it's creamy, authentic, and easily the best I've ever had. Consistent, high-quality, and great service every single time. They truly knock it out of the park.

We love the baklava here! Choose from pistachios, cashews, or walnuts in different shapes and textures. The baklava at Sarkis Pastry has a nice balance between sweet, buttery, flaky; it's not as cloyingly sweet. It's perfect! Besides baklava, Sarkis Pastry has beautiful looking cakes/fruit tarts and a variety of Armenian/Middle Eastern savory and sweet treats. The ladies that work here are nice and welcoming. Sarkis Pastry has three locations (Pasadena,Glendale, Anaheim).

They have the best decaf coffee!! I'm sure they will know who am I from my decaf coffee impression :-D I'm not from Cali, but every time I'm visiting I always get a chance to treat myself since we don't have many armenian desserts and pastry shops in Vegas. The only thing I noticed was the difference in the cookies' flavors. They tasted different than the ones I've alwayshad. They absolutely don't taste bad, not at all.. but just different. Other than that, everything is great. The service and everyone who is working at Sarkis Pastry are amazing people. I will always treat myself from Sarkis Pastry on my every visit to Cali.

Potato turnover - cookie stuffed with pistachio and one stuffed with walnuts!

First time customer! I have driven in front of the bakery scores of times and have always wondered what it's like. Today, due to a walking field trip with my students, I was able to visit the bakery. I was impressed with the amount of baklava, but what caught my eye were some savory turnovers and cookies covered in powered sugar. I ordered the potato turnover. it was flaky and delicious. The cookies were amazing. I found the ladies behind the counter friendly. Thank you for a good experience. I'll be back!

Best baklava in pasadena!! I'm a cheap gal with expensive taste and this pastry shop is perfect for me. Big selection, cheap, fresh & delicious!! Fast service & friendly towards dogs. Crispy melt in your mouth baklavas that ooze honey when you take a bite . The treats never disappoint.

Great selection of pastries and cakes. Bright and clean, bakery. Good coffee and the nazook (first time trying it) was delicious. Dense, buttery and rich, it goes well with coffee :) Friendly service, I'm going to try a couple different sweets before I leave here.

Celebrating their 40th anniversary one of the best bakeries in the area with Armenian favorites as well as traditional cakes and desserts as well. All made on their property in their huge bakery. Super friendly service by the staff there. Coffee and pastries plus pizza and breakfast too! Their baklava is one of the best with choices of walnuts or pistachio!

Inside is beautifully designed and has a French Riviera theme and is a really relaxing and almost romantic environment. It's a more casual breakfast and lunch option that specializes in great food and fast service. I really liked all the pictures on the wall and the tables are a bit close together, but it's to be expected in an open space like this. They don't have a dedicated parking lot, but we were able to find a metered street spot, one block away. The menu is not very large, but it has a lot of great options on it. Their bakery selection, however, is very large and has wonderful treats of all different varieties. I started off the meal with the Blueberry Cobbler Latte and absolutely loved it. The oat milk really added to it, and I was just a huge fan. I paired this with a Salted Maple Scone and thought it was surprisingly good. Tasted very similar to a buttermilk biscuit, and I just loved it. For my entrée, I chose the Eggs Benedict and really loved the braised beef and decided to add avocado, which I think was a great choice. Overall, a wonderful brunch option in a pretty part of town, and I would highly suggest to anyone and everyone.

Sweet Red Peach is cake heaven! A southern style bakery, they serve up a variety of delectable…read moredesserts, including the best red velvet cake in SGV. I originally stopped by to pick up their famous cinnamon roll, which made the lists for top 10 cinnamon rolls in LA County. Unfortunately, they didn't have any cinnamon rolls the two times I stopped by. (I think it had something to do with how their AC is currently out and awaiting repairs). Not wanting to leave empty handed, I decided to get a few slices of cake instead. And boy am I glad I did! So far I've tried their red velvet cake, vanilla cake with strawberry frosting, and a seasonal strawberry cake. The cakes were all rich and on the denser side, and were a cross between moist and crumbly. Each cake also paired exceptionally well with the velvety thick frosting. So the backup plan was a rousing success, as all three cake slices were fabulously indulgent and the perfect treat. ****************** My Ratings: 1 Star: Terrible; just thinking about it makes me angry. 2 Stars: Wasn't a fan so Not likely to return. 3 Stars: Meh. Average. Might return if others drag me. 4 Stars: Yum! Likely to return. 5 Stars: Amazing! Would plan my day around it.

We ordered two soft serve cones ($5 each), a lemon and strawberry. These are made by a machine with syrup / gel to add flavor automatically. The ice cream was serviceable but unremarkable, with a very synthetic flavor to it. Service was friendly, standard, and the inside clean but fairly bare. No seating yet there was some space for it. A couple tables inside and out would go a long way. Prices reasonable for the middling quality. I won't down vote Red Peach too much since their specialty is cakes but the ice cream option here struck me as tacked on and very generic. Nothing homemade here sadly. I defer to other reviewers for the cake but simply can't recommend the soft serve. Food: 3/5 Ambiance: 3.5/5 Service: 4/5 Value: 4.5/5

They also have a several affordable drink options like coffee and lemonade that I haven't explored yet. Just good to know the setup of the place- there is a window on the corner to order and pay. You do need to stand outside in a line if there is one, but there was shade when I went mid-morning and only 2-3 people ahead of me. you also stand outside to wait for the food to be brought out to you. So it's all completely takeout. You never go inside. But plenty of parking and room to stand. Not really an issue for me but may be a problem if you need to sit or wanted to dine in. I kind of like that no one is allowed inside except the workers. It makes me feel like the food is less likely to be contaminated by people getting close to it or breathing/talking over it like at other coffee shops or bakeries. Everything is out by the window so if customers came inside I could see it being an issue. Would be great to take it to a nearby park and have a picnic.
