Parking was easy, cookies were good and prices were affordable. Passed by Sarkis on my way home and decided to try it. Passed by around 7 pm and parking was easy. It was my first time and I told the staff. I wished they walked me through a few of their items or were willing to answer questions. None of the items were labeled in the display cases so I had no idea what they were. I just pointed to some cookies in the display case and paid for them. Some cookies had pistachios in them. They were good and I may come back if I crave them.

We had a grand opening at a nearby location and decided to order from Sarkis Pastry. Everyone loved all of the different pastries and cookies. I think the real winner was the feta and potato turnover pastries. They were warm with flaky dough. Absolutely delicious. We had trays of cookies, baklava and Karabeej with Pistachio & Natiff Marshmallow to dip in. All of our tenants seemed to really love all of the pastries and cookies. We served these with fresh fruit and warm coffee. Thank you Sarkis Pastry for making out event turn out so well.

We were in Glendale for a wedding and so didn't have a ton of time to explore (family wedding so there were lots of family obligations), but I really wanted to do a bakery crawl in Glendale Sunday morning before we headed to West LA and then north up the coast. Sarkis was one of our stops, and we tried three different pastries (two versions of baklava and a savory potato pastry). They were all okay, but it wasn't my favorite bakery of the crawl. Probably just because I'm more of a savory/salty girl! Still, if you want a large variety of pastries, Sarkis was one of the biggest and best stocked bakeries we visited on our crawl - lots of choices!

I was very disappointed by this bakery. I had read high reviews about this bakery having the best baklava in Glendale. I love baklava and was extremely excited to taste it. The service was fast and the workers were attentive. It is a small shop with seating if you would like to enjoy any of the goods you grab in store. Otherwise, their packaging is also cute. Unfortunately, the baklava here was just barely adequate. It uses a sugar-based syrup rather than honey, which gave it a sugary flavor rather than featuring the warmth and depth of honey syrup. The syrup also penetrated through the entirety of the phyllo dough. I almost walked out without purchasing anything because they didn't look fresh enough to purchase and properly review but I figured that this is an accurate reflection of their product. Definitely come by for other baked goods, but if you are picky about your baklava, or are just looking for good baklava in general, do not get your hopes up. If you are just looking for baklava in general, this will do the job.

Tray of pastors and cookies! Shoutout to Pistachio Cake and Chocolate Ganache cake there

Another great bakery in Glendale!! Once you come in, there's a ton of pastries and cookies. What's good: - Pistachio Cake: Light, nutty pistachio flavor, creamy. - Chocolate ganache cake: tasty chocolate cake with ganache on top. - Pistachio cookie: It's hard to find pistachio pastries that have a lot of pistachio flavor in it. Wonderful. Everyone wore a mask, not chaotic inside. Has a parking lot. The packaging is quite nice too. What stood out from here and other local bakeries was the exceptional kind service. She gave us free extra cookies to "fill the box"! Awww! Bless her.

We let the waiter know it was our first time trying Lebanese food and he went through the whole menu with us, which was extremely helpful. I love rose flavored drinks and desserts, so I was excited to try the jallab recommended by the waiter; it's now probably in the top 5 drinks I've ever had. The grape leaves and babaganoush were a must for us, since we wanted to try dishes that were different from what we have tried before. The grape leaves were herby and hearty, and the babaganoush was flavorful without the tang of a hummus, which I enjoyed. The fried cauliflower was crispy and hot with a creamy sauce that paired well. We liked the tenderloin kabobs a bit more than the chicken since it was juicer and more flavored. The interior is bright and airy, complimenting the hot afternoon perfectly. There was unfortunately no dedicated parking lot but there is street parking in the surrounding neighborhood. Overall an outstanding first experience with Lebanese food, can't wait to be back!

The Bottom Line 4 stars: A good upscale experience of some exotic food and drinks. Highly…read morerecommended! Location 4 stars: On Casitas Avenue in a somewhat unexpected residential area in Atwater Village, North of where the 2 and 5 freeways meet. Parking is not difficult. There is limited parking spots upfront but also a large parking lot and Valet parking. Venue 4 stars: Beautiful rustic upscale venue with indoor and outdoor tables and a full bar. Service 4 stars: Friendly, attentive, efficient and helpful staff. Food 4 stars: You can order individually or share a few small and large plates as a group. The theme is modern and eclectic Mediterranean and North African. We ordered the following appetizers and shared them among our group: Muhammara, Meatballs and Octopus Carpaccio. We also ordered the following main plates: Beef Shishlik, Whole Branzino and Prime Short Rib Tagine. For dessert, we ordered the Chocolate & Halva Sundae and the Tiramisu. Everything we had was creative, used fresh ingredients, was nicely plated, and tasted wonderful. Prices are on the higher side, as expected for an upscale restaurant. Drinks 4 stars: Full bar: Creative specialty cocktails, spirits, beer, wine and soft drinks. We had the Pornstar and the White Negroni specialty cocktails. Both were very good. Again, prices are on the higher side, as expected for an upscale restaurant.

To start off the interior is gorgeous and it does not feel like you're in LA. The garden vibes are beautiful. If you can sit outside I would highly recommend doing so. Drink selection is solid and all of our cocktails were just fantastic. The Bridge Bar menu is good value. It comes with an order of the dips and warm fresh pita, for the entree I chose the chicken kabob on a spread of labne and it also came with an ice cream sundae. My favorite item of the night was the crispy cauliflower followed by momo chips and the brussels sprouts. Momo chips are their version of fries served with ketchup and aioli. The brussels sprouts were smothered in olive oil and toasted almonds. The attention to detail in all of their dishes from an ingredients standpoint is definitely there. Kudos to the chefs because they really know what they're doing! Everything we had here was delicious and I will be back!

The Mini falafels come with 8 and are bite size on the tahini plate- I loved putting all the tahini on it. The Charred broccoli was exactly what I wanted, it's crispy and comes with a lemon garlic aioli. The Maghrebi potatoes come in thick, crispy slices on pickled lemon red pepper tahini. The Shawarma oyster mushrooms also another hit. We also ordered flat bread special which was feta & pomegranate seeds. Overall I was just so impressed with every dish. This review is long overdue because I first fell in love with Mazal as I impatiently anticipated their opening. I lived nearby and watched the progress as the owner and his father spent nearly two years building out the beautiful interior of the restaurant themselves. Everything about Mazal is a labor of love involving their entire family, including menu items that are grown in their orchard. The atmosphere is warm and friendly, whether you are in the dining room or on the patio. I'm back in LA frequently now and come to Mazal nearly every time. In addition to the hummus you have to have spicy tahini (or the new-to-me adorable mini falafel and tahini plate). My other new favorite I'll definitely have again is the shawarma oyster mushrooms, air-fried and served on cannellini bean purée with mint chimichurri. Everything is incredibly fresh and delicious. You don't want to miss the bourekas (the assortment of five cheese bourekas is something I dream about), the maghrebi potatoes (on tahini!), and the marble halva (take it home if you don't have room after all of the aforementioned must-haves and thank me later).
