I truly can't put into words how grateful I am for Ramesh Bhai at Sari Sapne! We have been customers of his for decades, but he still continues to amaze me with his ability to design outfits that match my vision perfectly. Recently we ordered multiple outfits for my son's wedding, including the bridal lehenga, groom's sherwani, and outfits for my daughter's family including both grandchildren. We described what we wanted for each outfit and Ramesh Bhai's designs surpassed our vision for EVERY single piece! We couldn't decide which outfit we liked the best because we truly loved each one equally! The bridal lahenga was gorgeous. What amazed me further was how stunning the groom's sherwani was! It was unique, modern, and masculine. Everyone raved about how cute and unique my granddaughter's cape lahenga was, and my grandson's sherwani made him look like a prince! Ramesh Bhai also did a superb job designing our son-in-law's groom sherwani 10 years ago. My son-in-law requested a unique sword design for his wedding outfit and Ramesh Bhai (and his staff) custom designed a stunning cover for the sword. His staff even stayed after store hours working on it and it ended up being one of the focal points of their wedding! We are so honored that Ramesh Bhai played such an integral role in both my son's and daughter's weddings. Would not recommend. Had a lovely saleswoman but was lied to when I purchased an outfit I was told it could be exchanged for store credit. So mere weeks later (less than a month), I returned with the outfit to try to exchange as I found a much better lehenga online that had been more what I was looking for but figured I could use store credit on an outfit for my partner for the event. At first an employee said "we only do exchanges within 1-2 months of purchase". Then I showed her it hadn't even been a month. Then the story changed and now they don't do exchanges at all. Why lie? Multiple times? We will not be back. I expect there to be shenanigans at these stores honestly but to lie and have that lie change again and again to suit the store is concerning. read more

I went to Sapna boutique ( the ready made store /guys indian clothing) which is associated with Sari sapna. It's four doors down. I went to two shops before my fiancé convinced me to come here. Seriously the best service and pricing without having to haggle like a madman. As an Indian I love a good deal, but most owners are Indian and they love a good sale;hence, the painful ordeal of buying Indian clothes. The staff were all helpful, especially Gita and the owner (Sorry, I forgot his name). As soon as we walked in, I knew we had found the place. The owner really knows his stuff. He picked out 2 sherwanis for my fiancé to try, and I had to take a second and collect myself, lol. He looked SO GOOD! We had been shopping for hours, at 3 previous stors, but there we found 3 options that all made my heart skip a beat! Quality Fabrics and construction were clearly top notch! I have purchased many saris from here before I moved out of Houston years ago and always received kind and helpful service. When I wanted to sew a anarkali for a daughters wedding, this was where I went to find a sari to use. I wish I had gotten the sales clerks name. She was very, very helpful though I was "difficult". I was wanting a specific dark color, so we looked over the entire shop and unfolded many saris. I did not find what I envisioned and resisted buying any others that I really liked as I was on a mission. I will definately return when the seasons change to try again. read more

I was last minute waiting for a sari to be delivered that I bought online for my friends wedding that had yet to show up before the event (despite ordering months ago, and endless back-and-forth with customer service over email!) I was having a fashion emergency, and Sari Sapne came through miraculously! I I live in Austin now, so I asked my mom if she could look for something for me to wear in Houston. They were able to facetime for my measurements, and able to do alterations that were affordable, lightning-fast, and made the gown fit me perfectly! The customer service went above and beyond to help my mom and to get me a beautiful ensemble while I was in such a time crunch. My daughter and I went to India for a wedding (a 5 day, 2 city affair!) and needed saris and kurtas- and this was the BEST place to go to get them! The choices were seemingly limitless, the prices covered a wide range of budgets, the service was divine, and they made the saris pre-tailored so the petticoat was sewn in, there were easy notches in the waistband they made to fasten it around my hips, the pleats were sewn in- all I had to do was throw the longer remaining end over my shoulder and look elegant! And they had great jewelry and bangles and evening bags to accessorize with! The ladies were SOOO helpful and the prices were good and I felt extremely comfortable when I got to Hyderabad and Visag wearing the saris and the kurta! They make a woman look and feel so incredibly elegant and sensual. This is a great place! I will come back in the future for other attire and for incredible well-made costume jewelry with lots of sparkle! read more

I love sari Sapne for many reasons, but the number one reason is customer service. Twenty years ago I met Ramesh uncle and bought all my wedding saris, lenghas, bridesmaids saris and blouses, jewelry, etc. and it was such a wonderful experience. Thirteen years ago I went back with my brother to buy his wedding outfits and his groomsmen outfits. In March of this year I went back with my younger brother and his soon to be wife for everything for their wedding next month. I am a customer for life. Now Ramesh uncle's son, Akash, is there and just as wonderful as his dad. I've gone into many of the other stores on Hillcroft just to compare, and can't tell you how rude and unpleasant they are. Many of the salespeople act like you are wasting their time by asking questions (nobody else is even in the store!) Definitely go to Sari Sapne for all your Indian clothing and accessory needs! There's a reason all the other stores close down after just a few years, but Sari Sapna has been here for over 30 years...this speaks volumes:) read more

This bad review is not for the shop per se. They really have a vast collection of nice saris, lehengas etc. The salepersons are also helpful when dealing with customers. What I did not like was the fighting amongst the sale ladies in front of customers. If you have differences then wait till afterhours to sort them out not in front of customers!
