I've eaten here several times before and have to say I'm quite disappointed. We order online for a take out order. I came in minutes after I placed it so they knew I was there and to see how busy they were. It was 3pm on a Saturday. There were 3 tables. I was informed our food wouldn't be ready until 3:40pm. All we got were 2 breakfast bowls. It took exactly 40 minutes. I don't see how eggs and potatoes took that long especially with not being busy. We were passing through the area at lunchtime and I found this restaurant via Yelp. There were 6 of us in our party so we had to wait a short time before our table was ready. They were very accommodating and friendly and we didn't mind the wait. My husband and I split the Vegetable Rice Bowl with chicken. I loved the mix of fresh veggies with the rice and chicken. If I were to get it again I would request that they put the teriyaki sauce on the side. It was good but just a little too much for our liking. We also ordered a side salad with the Honey Shallot Vinaigrette and a side Ceasar. The Vinaigrette dressing was made in house and it was delicious! Our server was great. The entire experience was wonderful and we all highly recommend it. The place is so cute, too! I didn't touch on the desserts because we were stuffed and none of us got anything but they looked delicious. If we ever pass this way again I'm planning for dessert! read more

I cannot say enough good things about this place. This has been my family's go to for any and all brunch celebrations. It's the cutest little place. The food is great and the adult beverage options are to die for! Some of their drinks come with a dessert to match, which I think is a great concept given that it's known for its desserts. My personal favorite drink is when they have their espresso flights! I wish I liked Bloody Mary's because the way they make them here is the best of the best. They also take custom cake orders for your special events. My favorites: - glitter balls!! (A small ball of cake with a dollop of icing which is then dipped in icing and covered in glittery sugar. When the lemon-raspberry glitter balls are in season, make sure to get one! - gooey butter cake squares!! The icing alone is worth that square! Truly, there is nothing bad!! Sometimes they have cheesecake bites that are delicious -- and the owner is good about mixing it up so when you check back in you may get to try something new. In the bistro: You'll find a good breakfast selection. The breakfast Sammy is great! And the biscuit is huge. On Sundays, they only serve breakfast. Basically a meal in itself, it starts with, of course, a large Bloody Mary, and includes crab legs, crawdads, potatoes, shrimp, hush puppies, spicy pickles and celery. The crab legs were very meaty and the drink comes with a little sidecar cup of butter for dunking. Wow! Way over expectations. For what I thought was a cupcake place this place far really put out a great dinner. The pork chop was their special. It was delicious and I highly recommend. It was garnished with polenta, spinach and baked apple slices. My honey had the salad and was super pleased with it too. Came for brunch after a wedding in the area. Cute little spot and we sat down just in time to beat the brunch rush (~10am). We couldn't resist starting with an order of pancakes as an appetizer - they were huge, buttery, and fluffy but a bit burnt; like maybe the griddle got too hot. I went for the central plate, basic but well executed. The wheat toast was fantastic and the breakfast potatoes were crisp and not overly oily. Again, scrambled eggs a bit over cooked but otherwise yummy. My husband got the BIG biscuit sandwich which isn't actually that big but biscuit was well executed. I was really excited for dinner here, but the entire experience fell short of expectations and I can honestly say this is one of the most disappointing meals out I've had in a long time. Our server started us off by rattling off a list of things they were out of. The dinner menu here is not extensive and to already have four things out of stock is a bummer, but I know the supply chain issues are still alive and well and at least we knew upfront. My boyfriend and I ordered drinks and the pickle chips, which have their own "cornmeal" coating. They came out from the kitchen quickly. The flavor was fine but the texture was like eating sand. I generally love corn flour (grits, rustic corn muffins, etc.) but it was a miss for me. The dipping sauce was great. At this point, my boyfriend points out that the floor under our table is covered with food from a previous guest, to the point that it looks like a toddler may have been seated there throwing bits of food on the floor. I got the airline chicken (also came out promptly) and right away was disappointed by the portion size in relation to the price ($23, plus the 3% service charge they put on the inside of the door so you don't see it until you're leaving - not cool). Butter or oil was leaching out of the mashed potatoes, making the dish look like an island in an ocean of yellow grease. But it tasted good, at least. I then tried to order a different drink off the menu, a Turkish Delight, and was told they couldn't make it. My waitress did not offer a comparable substitute or offer to have it made sans whatever ingredient was missing. I selected a different drink and it was fine. The most disappointing part of the experience was dessert. Given the other Yelp reviews and the extensive photos of cakes and desserts, I spent the entire meal figuring dessert had to be A+. I attempted to order the chocolate fondue. I was told they were out of it, too. At this juncture, it's worth mentioning that the restaurant closes at 9 but the kitchen closes at 8. The waitress came to take our dessert order at 7:55. I find it REALLY hard to believe that a pastry shop is "out" of the ingredients for chocolate fondue. It's also not lost on me that the drink I tried to order, which is definitely the most labor-intensive on the menu, was also unavailable near closing time. I explain all this because at 8:01 the staff working here could not have made it more clear that they were ready to go home. Several staff members were hanging around behind the pastry case chatting, loudly and obviously counting the cash in the register, asking each other if their tables had all gone home and talking about clocking each other out. The dessert we settled for, a smoked peach pecan crisp, came out as a tiny portion size. I found the "smoked" flavor to be over-the-top and only ate two bites; my boyfriend liked it enough to finish it. This isn't a 1-star review because I'm a small business owner myself and know how important ratings are. I'm not trying to destroy this place, just provide feedback on an overwhelmingly disappointing dining experience in the hopes that management addresses staff being in a hurry to leave, startlingly poor product availability, and small portion sizes. read more

Purchased this $23 caramel birthday cake for my wife. Very disappointed. Dry, very plain. Not worth the money. Parts of the cake looked burnt/over-baked. Really poor quality. If I didn't know better, I would think this came from Rulers or a discount grocery store. Aldi is better quality. I would recommend Trader Joe's or Fresh & Thyme. Cute restaurant, we were really excited to try this place on our way to our final destination of our trip. We decided since we had quiet a drive left to go ahead and split a sandwich and put it on GF bread for me. We waited a while and finally got our sandwich. They didn't bother to split it for us and didn't offer another plate despite us letting the waitress know. When I bit into my side of the sandwich all there was was turkey. My husband's half had gobs of the Mayo and all the cheese on his side. Both sides of the bread were beyond burned and so hard on all the edges. It was just okay, we could have definitely just gone to the grocery store nearby for similar price and made better. The bakery item however, was delectable! I haven't ever had a chocolate cake pop that is gluten free. It was so decadent and moist, the opposite of most GF baked goods. I feel like maybe they should focus more energy into the bakery and less on the sandwiches and would do amazingly well. Finally came to the pay...so we split the sandwich and fries, our daughter got a reasonable kids meal, a drink, and a cake pop. We had cash, so gave our server the cash ( a little over the total) and waited for our change. The server came back with a receipt and no change...now granted, it wasn't a ton of change we were getting back but still, any place I have ever gone they bring you your change and you choose if this goes toward their tip or not. But in this case, she apparently just assumed I was going to give her some of that as her tip. One other strange thing was there was an additional fee that was advertised well when you entered for transactions. I have recently seen this for places using different apps, but they wave the fee if you pay cash. This place didn't do that either. So all around very underwhelming experience besides the cake pop. read more

The good.....the October drink flight was delicious and reasonably priced as were the Happy Hour appetizers. My husband loved the Knock Off Chicken sandwich he had. Our server was very kind and attentive. Desserts were good but we had to go order them from the counter and bring them back to the table ourselves. I don't mind doing that but when they are added to the total bill for the table and then asking for a 25% starting gratuity for $30 of food I had to go get and bring back to my table myself it was kind of a turn off. The bad.....waited almost 40 minutes for our food. Two of our five entrees were salads. The two salads came out looking like they had been tossed and sat for the other 35 minutes it took to cook the rest of our food. The lettuce was a mix of mostly iceberg and it was soggy and limp by the time it made it to the table. The dressing had very little flavor despite being a balsamic vinaigrette because I think it had been absorbed and soaked into the watery iceberg lettuce. The worst part was when the bill came and the month special salad that doesn't list a price on the menu was $18 a piece. We probably should have sent them back but we both hate doing that and instead picked around the lettuce and just ate the toppings. My mom ordered the Blue Plate special which was Chicken Fried Chicken. While the Chicken as good, the green bean side dish was left untouched because they just did not taste good and seemed heavily flavored with cloves. The Blue Plate special also was not priced on the menu came in at $20 on the bill which seemed high for the portion size and "blue plate special" aspect of it. Sadly 4 out of our 5 plates were left with a decent amount of food on them that didn't go home with us. Haven't decided if we will return to give it a second chance. read more

I went here for breakfast for the 1st time and was really excited to try a new local place. I ordered the biscuit and gravy platter with over easy eggs. The food came out with the eggs well done and hardly any gravy on the biscuit. I didn't complain about the eggs but asked for a little more gravy. My $14 plate turned into an $18 plate because they charged over $3 for a small cup of gravy. I questioned it when I went to pay and the waitress couldn't remove the charge. When you order a biscuit and gravy platter there should be enough gravy to at least cover the biscuit. The whole plate of potatoes, eggs and overcooked biscuit was very dry and needed additional gravy for the advertised price. A little disappointed with Sarah's on Central. Expect to pay $50 for 2 plates and a couple cups of coffee. read more

Love this place. I've been here 3 times over the past couple of months when I'm in the area for work. I've ordered 3 different meals for lunch and all 3 have been phenomenal. My favorite being the salmon BLT sandwich. The salmon was cooked perfectly, the bacon delicious, and the ingredients all fresh (including a surprisingly flavorful tomato when I know they're not in season in the area). Their desserts are also must-try. The cake bites are lovely, the gooey butter cake has a new spin, and the macaroons are a staple for me now. Almost can't resist them.
