We just had the best appliance purchasing experience we've ever had here. We actually stopped in here as a goof. Every time we pass the store it looks like it is shut down, as the windows are tinted and there usually aren't very many cars out front. When it looks like the lights are on and you can't see inside it seems like the place is vacant. But I was curious when we saw a sign in the window that said "yes were open." Now I've seen open signs in places place before that end up being closed down, but I thought I would give it a shot, seeing as how we had never been there before. To my surprise the doors were open. We met Chuck, the store manager. He gave us his undivided attention. He helped us select a dishwasher, and he even matched the competitors' pricing online. The process was all very quick and he even scheduled the installation for us. We're looking forward to getting the new one installed. I would highly recommend going here to purchase appliances as they sell the major brands but have personalized focused attention. read more

We have bought two high-end appliances from Sara over the last two years, a Bosch dishwasher and a Café refrigerator. In both cases, the floor sales staff was highly informative and low-key. Prices were also highly competitive. Sara uses contractors to do the delivery and setup at your home. Again, these processes went very smoothly. You can bet that when we need a new appliance, we'll head to Sara. read more

First, the one positive is the store, it's layout and ambience. It ended there. We bought a new range after electrical problems caused it to blow up, melting the area around it. Of course the one we selected was out of stock. Whether this was Sara's word or a con by the vendor we are not sure. However, we were expecting an immediate delivery. Day 8, it is still not here. My electrician called Tuesday and Wednesday ready to begin working. Sara likes manipulating words. For instance, Monday or Tuesday it should leave Dallas. Wednesday or Thursday it should get to the warehouse. Thursday or Friday it should be delivered. Friday between 11 and 11:30 it should be delivered. It is 2:30 now. At 2:00 some delivery person called about our address. He stated that the range was still at the warehouse. In every case where two days were given it was always the second day. Dealing with Chuck the salesman solved no problems. He did not expedite the process or attempt to provide a solution. Only empty promises. Now it looks like I have to postpone my electricians afternoon time since I am positive it will not come. By the way, the 'out of stock' one we replaced with a more expensive model. I believe this is a deliberate attempt to defraud the customer and whether done by Sara or Whirlpool it looks suspicious. read more

****UPDATE**** The same day I posted the review below, I was contacted by the owner who personally took on the issue of resolving our installation. He quickly brought in another member of his team to supervise a visit of installers to rectify the issues with the original job. They did a superb job, fixing all of the alignment issues, and came up with a solution for the cracked wood under the oven. In retrospect is feasible that due to the wood being original (30+ years) and under an oven (heating), it could have been more susceptible to breaking as the old oven was removed. A touch of paint and the whole job will be done (I don't expect or want them to do any painting - that's my job). Both the owner and the supervisor were inquisitive and polite, which was the primary reason I wanted to buy locally - the extra care that comes from small businesses. Given how they responded, I have revised my rating accordingly. I can't overlook the month plus I had tried to resolve the situation, but I can give enthusiastic praise for resolving the issue so quickly after ownership found out. I don't anticipate buying more appliances soon, but I will give them another visit if I do. ****ORIGINAL****ONE STAR**** I am writing because after several months of trying to get the installation of my appliances done correctly, I have given up. I bought three appliances - a new wall oven, a microwave and a dishwasher, spending about 5k in total. Part of that was a 450 charge for installation. It was done poorly. The microwave and oven do not align with each other even though they are on the same wall, one on top of the other in the cabinet. The wall oven opening has a large horizontal crack from side to side that was not there prior to installation. Lastly the dishwasher doesn't align with the countertop. it was sloppy work and I've reached out three times to get something done about it. Nothing has happened. I regret giving this local store my business and will return to national chains. read more

Go to Costco down the street instead. What a terrible experience. I bought a Whirlpool fridge from Sarah not even 2 years ago. It started with delivery. They wreaked of cigarette smoke and were the most unprofessional guys ever who pulled up in a ratchet small pickup with my fridge hanging out the back. They did not bring the correct equipment so had to unload with a hammock instead of a dolly. The shelves were broken upon installation. After much runaround, I got one of two replaced. The whole experience was shady and regretful. Fast forward 18 months. I finally was able to get a water line installed to the fridge only to find out, the icemaker is broken. It has never been used before. I reach out to Sara, knowing we took notes on this on installation and am told they have zero warranty. So I have to buy a new icemaker and pay to get it installed. Compare to Costco where I got my washer and dryer at the same time: professional delivery truck and installers. And after 16 months, when a part broke - FULL WARRANTY coverage. Plus, I got cash back using their credit card to pay for the set. Sarah Appliances is outdated and has terrible service. Do yourself a favor and purchase your appliances somewhere else - I suggest Costco. read more

We bought a double oven and felt we got a good deal. We told them we were leaving for vacation so it had to be installed before a specific date. They said, no problem and scheduled it for several days earlier. Great. That day came up with NO contact from them. We called, they said it would be the next day. Again no contact. We called, they said the installer would call us! No call!! we called they said it would be the following Monday. We CANCELLED THE ORDER. I understand things happen, but they just ignore their commitments. NEVER one call! I can only imagine how bad they would be if there are problems. Each time we called, their response was like they felt we were imposing on them! I will NEVER buy anything from them. read more

Bought a GE Cafe series refrigerator from them 4 weeks ago. It was delivered with 3 dents and a handle on middle drawer that is broken-the handle will not stay attached on the right side-repairman says screw stripped and delivery man stated this has been a problem with this model refrigerator. Still waiting to hear when these items will be replaced and fixed despite multiple calls to this appliance store. Stay away from this appliance store. read more

My wife and I previously purchased a dryer here and it was a great experience. This time we came into the showroom and bought a floor model I've maker. The salesman told me that it had been on the floor a couple of years. Got it home, installed it and it didn't work. Took it back to Sara and was refunded but no one at the store attempted to make it right. POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE! Lost me as a customer. read more

We purchased a Kitchen Aid (Whirlpool) dishwasher from Sara. Before the warranty had expired, the machine died. Over the course of the next TEN (10) months they kept sending inept repair people to our home. These visits were characterized by us listening to the repairman call someone for advise on how to repair a dishwasher. We kept wondering why they didn't just go ahead and send someone who actually knew how to repair a dishwasher?? After almost a year of non-stop excuses, they finally agreed to give us PARTIAL credit towards the purchase of a new machine. During this purchase, the salesman (who had sold us the first hunk of junk,) actually tried to upsell us additional warranty rights??? They didn't honor the first warranty.... and now this scumbag was actually looking us straight in the face and trying to upsell us!! Our story ends with the installation of a new machine. The installer broke the plumbing under our sink by damaging the pvc. We had to hire an independent plumber to repair this damage. I was told about Sara Appliances from a friend who bought a lot of items from them. When we bought our house, we bought our appliances from them and loved the service and honesty. They didn't push for a sale and gave an honest opinion even if we didn't buy from them. They offered up their suggestion of why one was better than the other or not and left it up to me to decide. They even searched on when an items will go on promo sale or have extra manufacture discounts so I buy at the right time. Saved boat loads of money for home appliances. Fast forward to today. After such a great experience with them before and their honesty and customer service, I approached them about a TV I had in mind. Of course they had a much better deal that anywhere I could find, they offered up ways to make improve my current setup. Not by pushing to buy more, but ways to improve from my existing setup. I did end up buying a wall mount which was cheaper though them vs amazon or any other place, but knowing what they sell is of higher quality made it that much easier to know I'm happy spending my money here. I needed a Washer & Drier and a new tv for my new house. A friend of my recommended me this place. I walked in and was great by a named Mehul. Nice guy, I thought he was going to be out to show me the most expensive items to maximize his sales, BUT I WAS WRONG. This guy asked me all the right questions and made me feel like a person, not like Fry's Electroincs, needless to say, i didnt buy anything that day, i came back 3 days later and made my purcahse with him, AND HE EVEN REMEMBERED MY NAME, when i returned! read more

Appliances ordered from here took weeks to arrive and no ETA was ever given. Standard items that could be purchased from Best Buy today are still AWOL and still no ETA or explanation. Not sure why they apparently have no control over their inventory, but definitely don't buy anything they don't already have in stock. read more

I found this store through Monitor Audio speaker company, as Sara is an authorized dealer. They did have the speaker system I wanted to audition, and I was never pressured to make a purchase. I was even offered to try the speakers in my home. Nevertheless, I returned to the store for 3 visits, purchased these speakers at a nice discount, and was very pleased through the entire process. We needed new kitchen appliances for our kitchen remodel. My friend recommended I visit Sara Appliance on Katy Freeway so I wandered in there one Saturday afternoon. as we entered the beautiful showroom, we were warmly greeted by a salesman . I mentioned that my friend had referred us and he politely stopped our conversation and said he would like to be sure the correct salesman got the business for the referral. I really liked him, so I was a little disappointed to be introduced to someone new, but Mohammad quickly won me over too! Mohammad made the selections so very simple by asking good questions about my budget and kitchen style. I think we chose 5 appliances in 20 minutes. So darn easy! And the confidence he had for each selection was not at all pushy, rather, it was reassuring. My husband got a little bored and Mohammad pointed out the comfortable lounger chairs they have in their showroom while he and I finished up. My husband was glad to get off of his feet and enjoy a soda instead of pretending to be interested in appliance selection. After we left Sara Appliance, I got a quote form Mohammad the next day or so for the selections we discussed. The prices were the same as the big box store, except the experience was SO MUCH BETTER!!!! Don't shop the big box stores, go to Sara Appliance first and go see Mohammad. He will give you his cell number and he is always quick to reply if you have a question about delivery, installation and even after installation. We had a few glitches during the install, but he has been relentless in making things right for us. It is so rare to find this kind of service from anyone these days, so I hope you won't hesitate to at least start your appliance shopping at Sara Appliance. I assure you, they are very knowledgeable, helpful and you won't be disappointed. If you think of it, please ask for Mohammad. I checked all the appliance box stores in the area for a particular microwave that we needed as a replacement, and none of them could get me the microwave any sooner than a week and a half. I called Sara appliance and electronics and spoke directly to Chuck who helped me get the microwave I was looking for the very next day and for cheaper than I could get it anywhere else I checked. Chuck called me directly to let me know the microwave was ready and when I got to the store the whole process was friendly and a small town very high customer service feel. Awesome service! I drove by this place and wasn't sure what to expect, but was totally surprised. The showroom is incredible and for those of us new to the whole construction world, it was nice to get ideas for my media room, kitchen, cabinets, seriously all of it. We had so many questions and the staff actually knows what they are talking about, enough to even give us info. on what to ask the builder before things get done. We left placing orders on all our appliances, the home theater room and even got info. on vendors for installations and custom home work. For anyone even considering a new home or remodeling, you have to check this place out. We did all the research on the web and thought we knew what we needed, but you really have to get the right people to give you the information you need. Our buying experience in purchasing a double oven and cooktop was very positive -- the salesman was helpful and very efficient and we were very pleased. But, we felt we were gouged in the price we had to pay to have these appliances installed. We were shocked by what the third-party installers charged us and strongly felt it was a ripoff given the amount of work they performed to install our newly-purchased appliances. When we called the salesman and his boss, they rebuffed us totally -- they simply didn't get it, or refused to get it -- horrible customer service at the tail end of our experience with SARA. We would strongly caution anyone who thinks that they are "getting a good deal" from purchasing appliances from SARA that require installation that they may indeed find that got a raw deal when the installation tab is presented to them. read more
