Stopped by here for a quick coffee and snack before running to our next errand. We could not pass up on almond croissant and iced black coffee for togo. They have a decent sized indoor and outdoor seating, though we weren't sure whether or not they served breakfast lunch or dinner. Maybe just coffee and some pastries. I had zero expectation going in but after hearing my fiancee raving about how good the almond croissant tasted, we were both caught off guard by the tasty treat. The iced americano tasted very mild to me. I won't be missing it much, but we will definitely be back to try other pastries besides the almond croissant. The staff were friendly and efficient. The phone number is disconnected and or no one answers the phones . Prices have tripled while quality of food has nose dived. We saw one server for 12 tables as she struggled to multi tasked . Saquella Cafe is eggcellent and my favorite breakfast spot in Boca. I have two go-to dishes -- the South Beach avocado (avocado toast with eggs and potatoes) and the breakfast wrap (eggs, potato, onion, cheese). They're tasty every time! The staff is friendly and the owner seems to be there often, keeping an eye on things. It's nice to sit outside in the shade and take a walk around town after. Check it out! read more

I came here with a friend for lunch. It's in the Mizner area so there's lots to explore and enjoy. Our server was very nice and did a good job overall. It was pretty busy outside for lunch. Sometimes the birds can be a bit aggressive. The food was ok. It's nothing special. I almost wish the food had a little more salt to bring the flavors out. The fries were a little underwhelming. They're probably just frozen and reheated. Prices were not bad for what you get. I have to say it hasn't impressed me enough to wanna go back anytime soon when there's lots of other places nearby to try. You can really come here for any occasion for brunch. Big red banner affixed to the restaurant says "Under New Management", we'll since I have never been here under the old management I had nothing to compare it to except for today's visit. It was a few minutes prior to closing at 3pm on a Sunday so the dining room was closed but simple take out was still offered. The walls screamed "Try our Coffee" (see pic). The server made me a hot espresso using O'Caffé Italian blend coffee grinds. Excellent strong taste. The banana walnut muffins were massive. Met the owner who introduced himself. Whoever built the bathroom definitely had creativity in mind. Warm withered wood walls blending into tile really added a nice touch. read more

An absolute must! Perfect vibe, atmosphere, service, and food! We had a late breakfast on a Saturday morning and ate at the patio. There wasn't a bad seat in the house. Adorable tables with bright red chairs, with views of the floral trees and bright blue sky. Our waitress knew the menu inside and out, making perfect recommendations, and she was so attentive. She saw me peek into the creamer carafe and offered to bring more. The kids split the smoked salmon platter and they brought a spare plate without being asked. She even included extra tatter tots for them to share. I had the eggs Florentine and it was perfection. My husband got the ham and cheese croissant sandwich and ate every bite. The red chairs on the patio really popped and got my attention. The sign says Cafe in a strong Italian theme, so they should have very good coffee. The manager said hello as I walked up through the patio entrance that was covered with grass in the shape of a horseshoe. The inside had more red chairs and red napkins rolled on the white marble tables. The brown stone walls were beautiful. The server brewed delicious Italian coffee. Moldy fruit at Saquella Cafe - avoid the food Came here despite poor reviews because a friend's family recommended it. Ordered what I thought was a safe bet--fruit salad. Wrong. The honeydew and cantaloupe were moldy and smelled off. When I returned it, they just added a few more pineapple chunks. This cafe survives on its prime Boca Raton location and decent outdoor seating. That's it. Unless you're ordering bottled water, I'd skip it. It almost hurts me to write this review. This was one of my go-to's for breakfast or brunch and I would even invite friends up or down to Boca because of the wonderful quiche. It wasn't long ago that there were great chefs, and in fact a wonderful woman who made what I consider some of the best quiches I've ever eaten. (I used to order them in bulk to take to my office for surprise breakfasts.) I must admit that I had a lovely server who basically admitted that things have changed and there was new management. Even when deciding what to order she advised me that the quiches were now little "cupcake" type things, not the beautiful big pieces we had so enjoyed before. I ended up getting a very simple lunch sandwich. It came with the most soggy bread that I've ever encountered. Inedible. I even sent it back. The server was sweet as anything but it was just obvious that the management didn't care and all they did was throw it back into a Panini press, or even a George Foreman, for 30 seconds and then brought it back to me. Made it even worse since the lettuce was then wilted, Tomatoes were awful. And the owner decided not to come out. Like other reviewers said, this used to be a place that you would have to wait 30 minutes in line to get a table, especially on a Saturday morning. Ladt week, I think I was probably one of only three or four tables at the height of Saturday breakfast. Quality matters. This really was a wonderful restaurant and café but there is so much competition and better places to go. It's a shame they're not keeping up with the tradition and living up to their place in the classic Royal Palm Plaza. We certainly will not be returning again. I unfortunately can no longer recommend this restaurant under the current management and the current kitchen crew. A shame really. read more

I went once and will not return. The music was too loud for the early morning breakfast hour. It was very hot inside the restaurant, and despite the air conditioning blowing hard, they had all the doors wide open. This is unacceptable in South Florida. The food is below average. I could have had a better breakfast at Denny's. The Hollandaise sauce lacked any flavor, the English muffins were burnt, my eggs were cooked halfway decent, but the ham that came on the eggs benedict was barely cooked. My side was tater tots, and they were clearly bagged, frozen, and fried. Our server was very nice. Unfortunately, we will not be back. The food is terrible, the atmosphere is all wrong, and the prices are outrageous. The only thing this guy has going for him is the location. read more

We heard the new owner yelling, cursing, swearing etc at staff, he then argued with customers nearby and told them if they don't like it to get F**k out. Well, they did earn that one more star. Went for lunch with my friend and she had her dog with her. Love that they allow dogs and are friendly to them. Still have to take that one star off due to slow service but, the food and coffee were delicious. I started with a Mochaccino, this was a coffee with milk and Nutella. A bit sweeter than I like but still very good. The Monte Cristo sandwich was why I added the one star. The sandwich was perfection. The egg on top was cooked very nicely and runny center to add that yolk flavor to the sandwich. It came with home style potatoes that were excellent, and I chose the side salad, that came with a strawberry vinaigrette. My friend had the caprese sandwich and this was also delicious and both enough to leave us with leftovers. I was not able to eat any pastries this time, but they still offer them, they still have the cute outside seating, and nice inside seating too. Happy we got to try their food, and coffee improved to add that one star. read more

I was seated, ignored, til the man in the black outfit (presumably the manager) asked a server to come over - he took both my drink order and my food order. Under the previous management they had this amazing crusty breaded prosciutto mozzarella, and basil sandwich .. I asked the waiter where that was - he flipped the menu over to the breakfast section (odd) nope not there so I tried to retro-fit a sandwich... no such luck - the Sammy came on a warm croissant with 1 piece of prosciutto and zero cheese, literally nothing else?.... I kept seeing this place appear on my instagram feed so i decided to give it a try. I went on a saturday afternoon around 1:00pm. The resteraunt seemed very busy, i thought there would be a wait time. When the hostess approached us at the entrance i asked if there was outside seating, and we were seated immediately. The resteraunt had live music which made the atmopshere more enjoyable. I started off with a nutella crossaint which was very good. It was warm, and a VERY FRESH crossaint. I'm not a usual tea drinker but was wanting one because i was feeling under the weather. I asked my waiter his opinion on the tea options. He was very knowledable and helpful on helping me decide which tea i wanted. I had the turkey whole wheat tuscan sandwhich and they had different side options but i chose the petite salad. The food was good, and big portions. The food did take a while to come out more than 45minutes to an hour, which was the only downfall. I loved how they had alot of seating options inside and outside. Alot of the outside seating is shaded which is really nice to have in florida! The staff was friendly, and resteraunt was clean. We had breakfast here many years ago which was terrific, and today we revisited it and it was very good again. It was a beautiful morning , so upon arriving we asked for an outdoor table which was perfect At 10:30 in the morning there was a bustling business happening which was great to be a part of. After being seated , we ordered iced coffee , which was superb. I ordered the American breakfast which was three eggs, hash brown potatoes, bacon , and a nice size salad My wife had pancakes ( delicious) and we had ordered a basket of different breads which were the best. So tasty , we ordered a raisin bread to take home. My only advice to the owner is to make sure the American entree be hot rather than warm, which it was. This is a well run restaurant and we will know make it part of our go to restaurants. The area is also a great place to shop, so go. and enjoy. read more

Food was mundane, service was terrible. Waited a long time for terrible tasting coffee.

Our experience at Saquella was very uneven. Several staff members stopped by our table throughout our meal to see how things were going. It still took me over half an hour to get a glass of water despite asking at least 4 different staff members. Several guests in our party ordered coffee. It took a while to receive the coffee without any cream or spoons. We waited a long time to place our order but the food arrived quicker than I expected. The food was just average. My $16 breakfast included 1 1/2 strips of bacon which was a bit of a let down! The staff did thank us for coming and one server graciously took a group picture for us. read more

First of all I have been to this restaurant on numerous occasions basically for a breakfast/lunch combination. It was always packed. I understand the restaurant has a new owner. When I went there today there were no more than 3 tables eating. I asked for a blueberry muffin with butter to go. When I arrived at my next destination a few doors away I noticed there was a blueberry muffin and a few butter patties in the bag. I decided to return to the restaurant. I asked for a manager or owner and told him my order. He said that they always put the butter separately. I said then why wasn't there a knife in the bag to spread the butter. Based on his attitude I asked for my money back. HE REFUSED. He said he would cut the muffin in half and put butter on it. When I left with the order and opened the bag the muffin had 1 frozen paddy of butter in the middle. It wasn't even spread out. Boy has this restaurant gone down hill. read more

I was happy when I saw that Tommy was back because the place was always wonderful when he was there. Well, he was back and lasted 3 weeks under the new owner's leadership. I loved the interior and exterior of the restaurant. It was nice to look at and spacious. There was a guitarist outside playing (this was on a Saturday, so I'm not sure how many days of the week there is live music). Our waiter was kind and attentive. And we were asked not only by the waiter, but by another person who I assume was the manager, how everything was going. The food came reasonably quickly and the prices were good considering the restaurant is located in Boca. I ordered the Decadent French Toast, which comes with your choice of a side. My side was a cup of fruit, so there's not much that I can note there. But I did have an issue with my French toast. The problem is that my French toast tasted like onions. I can only assume that it was cooked on a flat top next to, or after, an omelette and the onion flavor migrated into the French toast. I've experienced this problem before at other restaurants. But my friend's bagel with lox was delicious. That being said, I did have 2 opportunities to tell the staff about my oniony French toast - first when our waiter checked in and second when another person (the manager maybe?) checked in. I'm not someone who likes to send food back because I'm shy, and also I don't like to waste food. So I ate the whole thing, but I'm sure they would have offered some sort of solution for me if I had spoken up. My bad for not speaking up! All in all, I'd be willing to give it another chance if they use separate grill space for sweet and savory dishes! read more

Had a salad with salmon for lunch. I waited almost 40 minutes for the salad. The staff apologized for the wait which I appreciated however the dressing was terrible, very bland. The lettuce tasted like bagged greens which were not great. The salmon was good. I was also charged $4.10 for 2 slices of bread which I asked for. The waitress could have mentioned she was charging me for the bread, which was toasted and I did not ask for toasted bread. All in all not a great experience. I used to really like this place.
