It's been 3 years since we were last here, so we stopped in to soak in some views and feed the chipmunks. The area where the chipmunks dominate (and where all the weddings take place) has some vegetation being restored, so you can't head down and feed them like you used to. Alternatively, you can put seeds out on the rocks in the viewing area and some of the animals will run up and grab them. We had birds eating out of one my kid's hands 3 times. Once you've had your fill of Disney-style magic, you can walk around the rest of the trail to see some great views over the lake/reservoir and then return to the car. Note that the parking lot is pretty small and that the are fills up quickly on weekends with weddings. There isn't anything at the start of the trail to tell you there's a wedding going on, so you have to pay attention.

Sapphire Point is a must when visiting Breckenridge/Frisco area. It's a mild, non strenuous hike of about a half mile along the Trail. But when you get there.... Ohhhh, what a wonderful view. See photos

An extraordinary lookout point in Breckinridge. A must go to if you are visiting this resort. It is an amazing view and a must see. The drive is filled with scenery as you are led up to the point. I wish I had a drone to film this amazing view.

While visiting Dillon, CO in late April 2021 we found this to be one of the most wonderful overlooks - especially following fresh snowfall - with fluffy clouds, shifting light, a frozen, snow-covered lake...I felt like I was peering into a fairy tale, Narnia, snow globe, or something. A perfect, wintery, alpine scene! We could have stayed there for quite some time - a wonderful spot to relax, reflect, and watch the clouds roll by...or set off on a hike.

Beautiful location to enjoy picturesque views of the lake. It was pretty busy at around 11am so I'd recommend arriving earlier! The loop is nice and relaxing and only maybe 1/2 a mile long. There's a spot for picnicking as well!

This is listed as an event venue, but it is more than that! We are visiting Breckenridge from Nevada, and we decided to look for a couple of shorter hikes for the whole family. Sapphire Point came up on Book Breck as a "don't miss," and our hike didn't disappoint! From the parking lot, you can go left or right as the trail makes a loop. Lots of animals to feed along the way (sunflower seeds were recommended, but we forgot! Whoops!), and there are three picnic tables about halfway through if you wanted to bring a snack or meal to enjoy with a gorgeous backdrop. Gorgeous scenery. Easy enough for kids. We think the altitude was getting to the 2-year old, though, because he wanted to be held more than he wanted to walk. We visited in early October, and the weather was beautiful!

    A view from the overlook.

We had considered this outlook as a potential for our small wedding venue. You can reserve the outlook specifically for a couple of hours. The outlook is however directly on the trail. There isn't much separation from it. You are not allowed to block off any parts of the trail but you can put up signs asking for people to be considerate of the ceremony going on. For us, the overlook was just too close to the trail for us to be comfortable. But the trail is well maintained. There is a bathroom beside the parking lot. The view is GORGEOUS. If you are in the Silverthorne, Dillon, Breckenridge area, it is definitely worth stopping by. It's about a 10/15 minute drive from 70. We went in October so there was already snow on the mountains. This trail is open year round and I'm sure the view is breathtaking in every season.

    It was heavenly!

We got married here! It was beautiful, it wasn't cold, it wasn't hot, perfect Spring weather. Snow on the mountains and Sun on our faces! The reservoir is a great backdrop! We bought white umbrellas for everyone just in case but it didn't rain. If anyone wants brand new white umbrellas for their wedding, hit us up!!!

Wonderful venue for an intimate wedding. We wanted something small and outdoors - surrounded with natural beauty and we got just that. Our wedding was in April of 2017. I highly recommend it.

BrynMarae Photography captured this breathtaking view! Couldn't ask for a better photographer or wedding spot.

Amazing site for an intimate wedding! We wanted something small to celebrate our day with those most dear to our hearts and this was PERFECT! It was easy to get to and about a 2 minute walk from the parking lot. Our photographer, BrynMarae Photography, was able to capture the incredible view and how meaningful this special day was for us! Couldn't ask for a better location!

If you use the directions from yelp make sure you continue all the way up to the point. Beautiful views. Short hike. Well groomed trail.

I am beyond words for how fantastic my experience was here! The chipmunks are so cute, they just come right up to you!

I messaged on here and quickly had an appointment to come see the venue! We walked in and my husband said, "I think this is the place it just is so fitting for us." For entree we went with their Pasta Rotante which for the night was a crazy flavor combo of tomato, pumpkin seeds, crunchy carrot strings, sage and chicken sausage. I'm probably missing other ingredients, but it was a dance of flavors on the tongue. Our waiter recommended pairing this with a glass of Pinot Noir and it was the perfect compliment.

They give you a walkie talkie so they can share updates and explain what you're looking at along the way, which I really appreciated because it made the ride feel intentional and educational rather than just scenic transportation. The snowcat itself is super comfortable and cozy. There are seat belts, thick blankets in the seating area, and the heat kicks on so you are warm the whole time. The cabin has large glass panels on all sides, so you can see the forest, the mountains, and the groomed trails without being exposed to the cold.
