Al-Amir does too! I've tried Kofti (Latinized plural of Kofta?) from every place I just mentioned (or nearly so). They are all slightly different and none of them are ever bad. The ones here, however, are especially good in my opinion. Aside from the seasoning being excellent (which it nearly always is) he seems to put quite a lot of either parsley or cilantro in the patty itself. A little meat patty will always taste a bit too heavy. His version has the right amount of heartiness and heft balanced with the refreshing inclusion of small flavorful leaves. I do honestly think it's lame that he charges people an extra buck for hot sauce. In all my Kofta-eating experience, this is unheard of. I would also say his speed in making these is pretty good. First time visit this week was a bit of a letdown, but this may be more of a personal preference issue. I had the traditional gyro w/ Greek Fries. The gyro had much less meat on it that what you would find at almost any other place that serves gyros. Also, the meat was a bit tough & chewy. The tzatziki sauce was really bad, in my opinion. Tzatziki sauce is usually made w/ Greek yogurt but this one seemed to be made w/ mayo-I may be wrong about this. Either way, the taste was really bland & unpleasant. Also, the onions were fairly large chunks vs. most other places that chop the onions smaller-but again, this may be a personal preference. The Greek fries were good. The service was friendly & accurate. They have free, off-street parking on a side street just around the corner from the entrance. I love supporting small businesses/diners and plan to return again to try a few other menu items and will update my review at that time. read more

I've come for breakfast, lunch and dinner and never had a bad meal. The souvlaki is my favorite for dinner, probably the gyro for lunch(although the double deckers are good too), and the breakfast special is the best value around. read more
