We came here to celebrate my nephews 21st birthday! If you are looking for a fun and enthusiastic birthday celebration, this is the vibe! It's in a store front area, so there is ample parking at no cost. It is decorated very vibrant and bright. As soon as we walked in, the host greeted us, but our party was already sat, so I let her know and she pointed them out so we could walk over and sit. The server came right away and when I tell you she didn't miss a beat on our party of 18. I missed her name as she introduced herself to the table before I arrived. She brought waters to everyone at the table and took drink and appetizer orders from everyone. While taking those orders, she asked in advance if it would be one check or separate checks: it was very convenient to be able to break up the checks with the number of people in our party! I ordered a margarita flight and the server asked if I wanted the presentation or just the drinks brought out. I said let's see the presentation, I didn't catch it on video or I would have posted it, but if you go to their social media page, you can definitely see the presentation there. The margaritas are not as strong as I would like, but definitely a preference. After all drinks and appetizers came out, she took our order and I ordered the pozole verde. This portion was a big portion and well worth the price paid. It comes with lots of toppings and items to eat with the pozole on the side. It was bursting with flavor and I wanted to eat it all but I was so full. They do have music playing in the background which is great....it keeps the vibe happy and you want to dance in your seat. First off, the food, drinks, ambiance and location is a 10/10, ok! It's right off the exit in a small plaza. Parking is plentiful. Some friends and I visited for dinner on Saturday night. Even though the parking lot was packed, inside there was plenty of space. We were seated quickly. The dining room is vibrant and fun. There is a full bar. The chairs are all bright colors and there are sparkling lights on the ceiling as well as murals on the walls. A couple of large screens were showing football. That night, there was also a DJ playing exciting music. For dinner I ordered the shrimp quesadillas and an agua fresca (cucumber and lime flavor). We also had chips and salsa, a couple of tacos, and the enchiladas mixtas (two mole and two verdes). All the food came out looking beautiful and it tasted great. I thought the quesadillas were fantastic and my friends were impressed with the taste and quality of the other dishes. Our criticisms were minor: the tacos were small and the grilled chicken a little dry. The dining room was periodically filled with staff wearing large masks, holding flashing lights and noisemakers. They delivered certain premium drinks to the tables and stood there until the guests drank them, chanting and singing. It was fun to watch, but could be unpleasant if one is expecting a quieter, more sedate experience. Service was a little slow. After we were seated it took a while for anyone to come back to get our order, which gave us plenty of time to read the menus. At the end, a similar situation as we waited for the bill. The first opening weekend was packed. [Which it has now been two weeks.] There was a DJ playing live music on site that made talking really difficult. Sadly, there were no specials. Some menu item prices were pricier than others imo. * Calamari frito: The calamari was actually flavorful. The breading was light with its seasoning coming through. The chipotle mayo sauce didn't have a strong flavor profile. We used the green sauce that they brought over instead. * Enchiladas mixtas Santo Cielo: They were good, but I didn't think there was anything special to them. The only thing I can really point out is the sauce having a unique spice to it. The steak pieces were so so. Nothing special to them either. * Alambre Santo Cielo: The hubs really enjoyed this. He said for the value and amount of food (steak, chorizo, chicken, and bacon) that it was good. I had a sampling, and it was indeed yummy. * Quesabirras (beef): These were super delicious! The crispness of the fried items. Yum. The consome was really good to dip the quesabirra in. Plus, it's one of those more unique items. * Brownie & vanilla ice cream: This was really good. The brownie was warm and soft and meshed so well with the cold vanilla ice ream. It was almost like chocolate lava cake tbh. * Churros con nieve: The vanilla ice cream helped added more texture and flavor to the churros. But the churros themselves weren't spectacular. For me, it was firmer than I'd like 'em to be. This place sits right about 3.5 stars for me, but considering some of my party's better food choices, up it goes to 4 stars. read more

We decided to try Santo Cielo. I was amazed when we walked in. The ceilings are so high and there is beautiful murals and art. Definitely makes you feel like you aren't in Embry Hills! It was dinner time and hubby wanted the sandwich shop 2-3 doors down from Santo Cielo (translated: Holy Heaven). He saw that the new Mexican restaurant was now open and we detoured, taking the long walk (another 20 or so steps) down the strip mall. First impression as we walked in: 'Wow, they really transformed the space! Nice!' We loved looking at all the small decor touches - mismatched chairs at each table, big bold colored paintings on the walls, cool lighting above, swanky couches as you enter. Service: The hostess greeted us with a big smile and said it would only be a minute, a 'manager' or lead server (?) came up and was helping the hostess identify where to seat us. They were preparing for a large group in the middle of the dining room, so I think this disrupted their normal flow a little. After we were sat, the table number/marker was switched a couple of times by the servers so I think they were really trying to make sure service to the other diners was not affected by the large party. Our server got hung up by the large group halfway through our meal, which stalled things for us quite a bit (understandable). The food runners and table cleaning staff picked up the slack though and made sure we were being taken care of --- which was awesome I might say!!! Food: Good. Not the best we have ever had, but good. I had the cheese enchiladas with lettuce, potatoes, and carrots on top (traditional style), hubby had ceviche and oysters. Presentation was excellent! They use so many different serving "vessels" it creates yet another intriguing thing to look at as you browse around the dining area (yes, I'm a people watcher). We ordered classic cocktails (nothing over the top) - skinny margaritas and a spicy mezcal margarita (which I have to say I will be back for; it had hibiscus YUM). Pricing: A but overpriced. You are definitely paying, at least partly, for the experience; which I think was worth it. Although, we will limit our visits to special occasions...more explanation to follow. Ambience: FUN! Notably, the bar staff and wait staff collectively deliver all "high priced" cocktails to each table ...flights of shots, flights of margaritas, some kind of 'fish bowl' like drink prepared table side with flare ... are all accompanied by a celebratory parade to the table. The staff wear masks and all carry flashing lights encircling the table and sing a song (I couldn't discern the lyrics). It so much fun to watch and almost tempted us to order one, but alas we stuck to our own drinks. All in all, we spent entirely too much money, but had an unexpectedly fun evening. We'll definitely keep Santo Cielo in mind if we are entertaining out of town guests or to go for a fun night of drinks. read more

Seating? Cushioned and festive. Lighting? Very festive and creative. Decor? Old school meets new school. Drinks? What I had (Bonita Y Mentirosa) was delicious and had me licking my lips as I sipped it. Perfectly balanced (for me) mix of tequila to mixer. The general vibe? Fun meets fancy. The staff? Friendly and helpful. Food? Flavorful and plentiful. I had the Bonita Y Mentirosa as an apéritif and was pleasantly surprised that it had a decent amount of alcohol to help stimulate my appetite. The somewhat sweet, sour, and tangy watermelon flavor really made for a nice little drink to sip on all throughout my meal. I had the El Cajoncito (Costilla De Res) - Beef ribs and onions with juicy, grilled chicken breast strips and shrimp. Served alongside a plate with refried beans and a sprinkle of mozzarella, shredded lettuce with fresh red onion slivers, a couple slices of tomato, and Mexican rice- and all this comes with a little drawer that holds 3 small tortillas (I went with flour). The 3 flour tortillas weren't even close to enough to use up all the chicken, shrimp, and fixings. The beef ribs were NOT meant to go on those tortillas though. They are a bit messy to eat (and I could've asked for more napkins- but they only brought me one) and are chewy in general. They pack a ton of flavor though. The salsa verde was the avocado type that's all about adding freshness and the red salsa was the type that's spicy-hot. Overall, the food was pretty good. The service was good. The drink was better than all of that. The concepts are cool and the vibe is "right on". The waitress did seem to forget about me after bringing my check and I was waiting for about 10 minutes for her to come back. However, when I got up to ask one of the hostesses to go run my card, a waiter noticed and quickly ran to the back to tell my waitress that I was looking for her. I think it'd be better if they didn't care who cleared which check, but then tips would have it be split and I get that's a whole thing. I understand their side of things and while she messed up, it's not earth-shattering and it didn't affect my star rating at all. I gave 4 stars because I've had the same kind of food- elsewhere. The drink I had stood out and the decor stood out. I think it'd be a fun place to take a date, family, or hang with friends. Give them a shot. Next time- I'm going for the tacos. read more

I waited for months for this place to be open and was sadly disappointed. Pros The restaurant itself is very cute. The decor is beautiful lots of colors and picturesque like details. The drinks are good. Shot prices are a little high for a restaurant in my opinion. The quesabirra tacos were the best thing we tried. Cons A lot of the food we had was very bland and came out lukewarm. The queso only had two options one with chopped hotdogs and chorizo (never heard of the hotdogs in queso) and a regular one. The regular one had no flavor whatsoever literally just cheese. No jalapenos ,spices , nothing. The tacos dorado looked very good but also lacked flavor as far as the chicken inside. The consume was good just a little salty. Overall 5/10 The service was spotty , I'm just going to assume it's because they're new. Time management needs improvement. Hopefully as they grow things will get better but as of now I don't have to go back unless you go for the shots they bring out with music and lights. Which is very cute and fun if you're looking to go out and drink. With Mexican being one of my favorite cuisines I wouldn't come here for food unfortunately. Also on all of their social media it advertised complimentary appetizers all opening weekend. When we asked our server about it she told us it was only the first day of opening then the manger comes over and tells us it's only on a certain appetizer. Mind you the advertisement stated "house appetizers" also we only got $8 chips and queso lol. Now, full disclosure: the birthday routine (you know, the lights, singing, dancing) makes me want to run screaming into the parking lot and rip out the rest of my hair. But others seem to like it, so who am I to judge? On the flip side, the murals and artwork around the place are genuinely great--lots of charm and color. I came here with a friend maybe 4-weeks after they opened in October 2024. The server we had was not trained at all and had no idea about the menu. I ordered a Pinot Grigio, and my friend a Diet Coke, and she came back and said they didn't have either. She said they don't have a soda machine yet and have drinks in cans. My friend asked for several different sodas before landing on one that they did have- Coke Zero. I finally found a white wine that they had in stock as well. The wine came with a tiny wooden pin with a paper slogan which was a little silly IMO. I think they can get rid of those and save them for the more specialty drinks. There is nothing too unique or needing to be jazzed up with a glass of wine. Again, my opinion. We started with a salad and chicken soup. Server comes back and says they do not have salads or chicken soup. We were a little surprised because soup and salad is pretty standard for a restaurant, but whatever. I ordered the ceviche and friend ordered the salmon. The food was really good. Excellent. The flower on both plates was silly since it wasn't edible and just had to be thrown away, kind of a waste and didn't really add anything to the presentation. There were two people that worked there standing behind us talking the whole time while we waited for the server. The service wasn't very friendly. Our bill was over 100 dollars, which was way too much for what we received. The location is on the end of a depressing short strip of stores, and I didn't really find anything that exciting about the ambiance. I saw lots of mops, brooms, and cleaning supplies stuck in the corners. The saving grace is the food is good, but not sure this area is going to support a restaurant with such high prices given there is nowhere to go before or after without getting back on the interstate. read more

We attended this restaurant as a group. My sister and I ordered their tequila flight which included 8 shots of their house tequila and came with a show with lights and mask which was cute. Our issue was there was a group of 10+ for a birthday dinner and they just passed the shots out to the complete opposite side of the table without consulting the people who ordered the shots and we were never handed one from the shots we ordered by the staff. We brought this to their attention and they informed us we could not receive the shots we paid for on behalf of their mistake and the only thing they could do is ask the others they handed the shots to, to pay. The food was about as quick yes I can imagine for freshly cooked tacos. I had birria without the cheese. The meat was less gamey than lamb typically is. Still, it was delicious, and very tender. It came with a dipping broth that was also quite tasty. The tacos have that nice balance of being spicy without leaving your mouth on fire. Do not skip this place! We live nearby and were eager for the restaurant to open. Our first visit was around opening week. It was a party with DJ and fantastic food. The three of us ordered more food than we usually get. We wanted to try everything. We got Mole, tacos, guacamole, steak, and a couple margaritas each. Everything we tried was fresh and delicious. You will need a couple minutes to take everything in when you walk in the door. The purple velvet couches at the entrance IS The Vibe. The whole dining room is decorated in exquisite detail. The staff aprons have images from loteria cards. I was sucked in to the colors, lights, and iconic murals. There are probably thousands of smartphones with videos of the decor all over ATL. You will probably pay twice as much here to get your Mexican fix than you would if you popped over to Monterey's on Buford Hwy (our favorite Mexican dive). But the menu, ambiance and service are so worth it. This is where you go when you are feeling a little more festive and want some really good food. This is where to bring your friends. Not gonna lie, the margaritas are pretty expensive, but they don't let you down. The Skinny margarita does not disappoint. They have a full bar and also serve tiki-style drinks in fun glasses. Get the margarita flight for some fun activities at your table. The wait staff are pretty busy as other reviewers mentioned. This really doesn't bother and rarely sours my experience. I felt our waiter was keen keeping our party going when we had their attention. We pretty much ordered everything she recommended. Tonight, a few weeks later, I picked up the Pollo Pozole Verde for home. It's a complete meal meant for two, but can easily feed four. Very flavorful and they didn't skimp on the toppings. The hominy was tender and the broth was thick and full of meat. We will definitely return for another meal soon. So much on the menu to taste. Go! Just to experience it once. So originally I was worried as I'm vegetarian (mostly vegan) and it looked from the menu like I was relegated to chips and salsa. However, I asked our server, Melina, if there were vegetarian options and she said they could make tacos, quesadillas and enchiladas vegetarian. I appreciated that she double checked that cheese was okay. The quesadilla and rice were both excellent! Melina was the best and served our large group in a friendly, efficient manner and without any issues. My suggestion is to offer plant-based cheese and add the vegetarian/vegan options to the menu. I know myself and many people I know who are on a plant-based diet as vegans or lactose- intolerant would be happy and more likely to dine at a restaurant knowing they too had options. Our bill totaled $215, and it was very disappointing. The restaurant appears focused more on charging for every item than on customer satisfaction. There were no free drink refills, and we were even charged for flour tortillas that are typically included with fajitas. While the food itself was decent, the extra charges made it feel extremely overpriced. We waited about 30 minutes without silverware, were served small canned drinks, and experienced very poor service overall. Communication from the staff was lacking, and despite the issues, the only compensation offered was a $3 discount on the bill. I have never been to a Mexican restaurant that charges for drink refills or for chips and salsa. I would not recommend this place--there are many better options that offer much better value for the money. read more

I was recovering from recent surgery, and looked forward to trying their caldo de pollo (chicken soup). My wife ordered the taquitos dorados. The restaurant is very nicely decorated; they appear to have a good liquor selection; and the staff was attentive and friendly for take-out. I was less than pleasantly surprised to discover lots of bits of chicken skin in the soup, along with pieces of gristle, which I separated out (see photo). The taste of the broth was mediocre at best. Maybe this soup presentation is "authentic", but it wasn't like any I've had anyplace else and it was nasty to me. My wife said her taquitos tasted like they were fried in rancid oil. I've started a few businesses in the area over and I appreciate the challenges of folks trying to get a leg up. Cans or small selection of bottles soda. I got a can of Coke for $3. Comprehensive menu. I went for a low-risk option of Asada steak tacos, $5 ea. Ground steak versus steak strips typically served elsewhere. Rather small. I'll be getting a snack somewhere after dropping around $20 for lunch. This might be great for some. This was my first and likely last time dining here. We went on a Wednesday, when it wasn't very busy, yet the service was disappointing. Our Colombian man waiter was pleasant at first, but after our food arrived, he never returned to check on us. We ended up having to ask another server for drink refills. I had high expectations because the restaurant looks great on social media. The ambience was nice when we arrived there was a DJ playing good music but unfortunately the service didn't match. I ordered a torta, which was bland and unremarkable, and my date's carne asada arrived nearly six minutes after my plate. Overall, it was not the experience we hoped for. read more
