Posting for my dad: I recently had the pleasure of working with Santiago Tree Service, and I couldn't be happier with the results. I needed tree trimming for a tall ash tree and the removal of dead wood from several redwood trees in my yard. Santiago and his crew were not only professional but also personable, making the entire experience very pleasant. What impressed me the most was their attention to detail. They did exactly what they said they were going to do and even went beyond my expectations. My yard was cleaner after they left than it was before they arrived! It's clear they take pride in their work. I would highly recommend Santiago Tree Service to anyone in need of tree work. They did a great job, and I wouldn't hesitate to call them again in the future. read more

2 trees taken down in front yard and then stump grinding for 3 stumps. Very efficient and I thought the work was fairly priced. They were working on the house next door and I swiped them for my job when they were finished! Recommend them! read more

Have been using Santiago Tree Service for years and am so grateful that I found them. First started using them at our old house in Brentwood for a number of jobs where we had several really large trees. Then hired them to do my son's house here in town. We are now at our new home, and they just finished up yesterday doing an annual cut back of two fruitless plums and two madrone trees. Like I said, been using them for at least twleve years and plan on having them back out a year from now. read more

Juan and his team did a great job on my palm tree and completely cleaned up afterwards. Highly recommended.

This is a review of my experience with Santiago Tree Service. They were hired to work on the house directly next to me. The following is based entirely on interactions with their workers and observations around common courtesy. We live in a well established, residential neighborhood. I had pulled out my green bin in the morning and placed it directly in front of the house for pick up. Later in the day, I noticed that Santiago Tree Service had pulled up in front of my house to park its truck (not an issue or problem for me). However I noticed the waste bin was moved, it was pulled up onto the sidewalk so their truck could park in front of my house. The truck is a typical, large tree service vehicle. It blocks the view of the sidewalk so if the waste truck drives by, they would miss the bin and drive right past our house. The bin was full of waste so by moving it, they know it's waiting to be emptied. Just the smell would indicate the bin is full. The simple common courtesy would have been to move the bin to an unobstructed area for pick up. I ended up moving the bin myself so the waste truck wouldn't miss the pick up - just a few yards from where they placed it. I was planning to leave well enough alone and let this matter go. However, I hear the waste truck in front of my house. They've just picked up the green waste. I go to retrieve the bin and pull it back into my yard. As I went to get the bin, I noticed the crew was taking a break by their truck -- one of their guys is laying on my lawn under the tree (see photos. Keep in mind, they are working next door and not on my property). I rolled the bin back into my driveway and looked at this individual to see his reaction (e.g., embarrassed, apologetic, etc). The crew member barely looked up at me as he had his face buried in his phone. I have used Yelp as a resource for many, many years. I have hired numerous companies and businesses for all sorts of projects. In all the years of using Yelp, I have never had this kind of encounter with a service provider or its staff. It begs the question, if the guys from Santiago Tree Services are this cavalier with their behavior, what does it say about their work, their attention to details? I need a tree service company to come this fall. I have large trees in both the front/back yards that need trimming. Based on my encounter and lack of simple common courtesy, one can imagine who I'm not going to hire for service. read more

Call the following Tree Service they came out gave estimate, scheduled the clean up, and then cancelled for unknown reasons, stated that they just didn't want to do the job, after many calls to see why they did not show up, son called me back to give explanation as to why Not good business practices, if you don't do yards then you should not give an estimate of the cost and then don't show up read more

I called Santiago on a Monday to get a quote and he was at my house within an hour. He agreed to come the next day to trim and clean up my oak tree which hangs above my pool. He and his team did an incredible job and cleaned the yard up when they were done. His team was punctual, professional, and skilled. I will definitely use them again. read more

We have 2 acres of landscaping including over 30 trees including 100 year old sycamore, oak & eucalyptus. Santiago walked the property and listened carefully to my goals. His crew came out the next week and muscled through the whole yard. Unlike in the past (we do this annually) I did NOT need to babysit the crew who by the way were very professional and highly skilled. They knew what I wanted and they knew what the trees needed. His bill was less that the others who bid for the same job and did not ask me to sign a 10 page contract suitable only for lawyers. A handshake on his word got things done perfectly. So refreshing to do business with him. PS: they did an AMAZING cleanup when done! read more

Once again Santiago's team has done a beautiful job with our trees. They have been out several times but I never thought to determine if they were on Yelp. Santiago is always on time when providing an estimate and his crew are thorough, professional and always happy to explain the work they are doing. When having people work at your home you want to make sure you're not letting just anybody in which is why we are a repeat customer and always call Santiago first. Our Italian Cypress now look perfect and the Crepe Myrtle's are ready for new spring growth. read more

We called Santiago Tree Service about removing our 2 palm trees. He came out the same day and gave us a price. It seemed very reasonable. We wanted the work done right away and he was able to send a crew over the same afternoon. They did a fantastic job. The trees were close to power lines and our house and they got this done with no damage. Highly skilled crew- could predict with amazing accuracy exactly where the fronds would fall. They cleaned up afterward and it's like the palms were never there. Will definately hire again if we have any other tree jobs. read more

Had Santiago out for a quote, which he gave me. when I tried to set an appointment date, he never responded to any of my texts or voicemails ! when I finally spoke to him, he said he wasn't interested in doing the job because it was too complicated! When I asked him why didn't he just tell me that (or at least text me), he said "since I wasn't responding to you, that should have told you, I wasn't interested !!!!" Not someone I would recommend or trust. read more

Oak tree branch came down against the house - Santiago came out the next day and cleaned it up perfectly.

Made appt. Friday at 1pm he didn't show up , called me Saturday night and said he forgot and then asked if he could be there Sunday at 10 am so I gave him another shot , he was a no show again . Also can't find his license on contractors board , it's my fault I shouldn't have gave him a second chance , flakey as hell , look elsewhere unless you want someone to waste your time read more

Excellent service. We had a specific, not major in volume, job. But it was dangerous. We kind of switched things up with them at the last minute, but they adapted and got it done exactly right. We also have had their help for lesser jobs, and they have always come through. Top notch. These are guys you can trust to get the tough tree jobs done. read more

Total Value! Crew of 5 was an impressive, well-oiled machine. The guy in the tree clearly knew what he was doing and they cleaned up so well, I could hardly tell they were here. Multiple times they checked with me to make sure I was happy. I didn't know that kind of service existed in Austin anymore. Kudos to the Boss! read more

Had them take out most of the trees in our backyard; they did an amazing job! Cheaper than the other companies. Started exactly on time at 8:30. Had most of the trees out within 3 hours and the rest of the time spent on stump grinding and clean-up. Would highly recommend them! read more

These guys are professional, on time, and neat. Great job. Highly recommend them. They were careful not to step on the garden near the trees we wanted removed. When they were finished you could t tell they had hauled out three trees. There were no leftover branches or twigs that we had to clean up. read more

I've never had a bad experience with Santiago's Tree Service. They've been to my house 3 times and I had them trim trees and remove a palm tree from my mothers house, no issues at all. I would definitely recommend them. read more

Santiago just completed four days of clearing and trimming trees on our 7 acre property. The team did an outstanding job and we have also become friends. I can't think of a way they could have done a better job! read more

I absolutely WOULD NOT recommend Santiago Tree Service to anyone. Santiago first of all isn't licensed except for a business license. He sent his crew out to work at my home on a fairly big job, but didn't show up himself to point out to his crew what we wanted done. They almost cut down the wrong tree (a healthy heritage oak PROTECTED IN FAIR OAKS) and I had to run out to stop them. They also took a few very important branches from my tree that I needed for privacy. Santiago and I explicitly discussed how I didn't want those particular branches removed. I called Santiago and had the workers pause until he got to my house. He said that he did nothing wrong and wouldn't take the big pile of branches away in front of my house unless my HUSBAND called him and said it was ok. I HIRED HIM. MY HUSBAND WASN'T HOME AND SHOULDN'T NEED TO APPROVE ANYTHING FOR HIM and now we are left with a huge mess that he made. He left my property looking worse than before and needless to say, we are livid. I'm not sure how he has so many good reviews. Maybe they're fake. But DO NOT HIRE HIM, ESPECIALLY IF YOU'RE A WOMAN BECAUSE HE WILL NOT TAKE YOUR SERIOUSLY. Only a man can be his client. read more

We have used Santiago's often for tree removal along with tree thinning. They have always been on time and are very thorough with cleaning up after they are complete. They have trimmed redwood and also removed multiple stumps. I will use them and continue to use them. read more

I had the crew out this morning. They are great!!! They arrived promptly they did an amazing job with all the trimming I needed done. They communicated with me from start to finish. It would be way easier if I spoke Spanish as only one really spoke understood english well but we all managed. They really wanted to make sure I was happy. They were very detailed. They cleaned up all the mess too!! Even sweeping and pulling stuff out of the pool. This will be my go to company for my yearly tree service from now on, Oh by the way the price was very reasonable for the time they took and they were very willing to throw in a few areas without charge. read more

Santiago's crew did a fine job trimming our trees. We had three very large oak limbs overhanging the roof, three large maple limbs and an oleander hedge all trimmed. They were done within about 4.5 hours, including cleanup. They kindly waited 15 minutes for me to come home on my lunch break to check their work, then they trimmed an two extra branches that they had missed without questioning it all. Santiago was a nice fellow and he came to give a quote within two hours of my call on a Friday morning, during the rain. It was easy to talk to him about real costs, including when I called him back later that night to ask more questions. I recommend this tree service. read more

The crew just left. They did a fantastic job, and even put the big 8' tall fence section back into place. The boss came out the same day I called him. From Oak tree in pool and gaping hole at base of fence to complete restoration of area...2 days. Of note, a coworker came and picked up our massive treadmill. These guys helped us load it. Coworker watched as they cleaned up and mentioned they were pretty thorough compared to what he's seen in the past. And still on their way before noon. I highly recommend these guys for the "no bullcrap" experience. read more

Santiago didn't show up to 2 appointments I had made with him. Didn't answer when I called to see if he was still coming. I gave him the benefit of doubt and he did it again. Very responsive and great follow up. Fast, efficient and fair. Exceeded expectations. Massive privet, multiple stump grinds, went beyond scope of the job and left the site cleaner than when his team got there. Thanks and would use again. read more

Santiago was quick to come out and bid our large tree removal project. Took the time to walk the property with me and point out things he saw could use some trimming. Then, he mobilized a team overnight when I called him and said we were ready to proceed with the job. Crew worked hard, were respectful, and did a great job cleaning up. We would absolutely use them again! read more

never got to use their service but made an appointment for an estimate and the owner never showed up & did not call to reschedule or apologize I called 2 more times to see if he was coming - no returned calls I can't and won't deal with a business run this way - not even reliable for the estimate!?! read more

Awesome work for an amazing price, super friendly crew who paid attention to every detail - can't thank you guys enough! During the latest high winds, we had a couple branches from a tree in our driveway fall on our neighbor's house. Fortunately it didn't do any damage, but we needed to get the branches safely removed, the rest of the tree taken down to a safe height, a couple other dead trees removed, and some other misc cleanup. Santiago and his crew were super nice, and did a fantastic job! They did even more than we had discussed, and cleaned up nicely afterwards. I will definitely be using them for any additional tree work we need in the future. read more

Called Santiago to come out and give us a quote. He called back immediately. Came out the next day and gave us a very competitive quote. His crew of 3 were at our home early, were courteous, and knew what they were doing. They hauled all of the branches away and cleaned up all of the debris. We are thrilled with the job they did. We will be recommending Santiago Tree Service to all of our friends and neighbors. Becky - Folsom, CA read more
