Crema de Almeja y Crema de Almeja bread bowl was excellent. The Ostiones were mediocre. The Sashimi de Atún, Ceviche de Callo y Camarón, y Lobina were way too salty. Not able to eat, inedible. Was going to complain, but was afraid you would not understand English or misunderstand or misinterpret. Extremely disappointed. The Corazón de Filete Mignon was very good, but also a little salty. It appears the chef likes salt in everything. Even the arroz that came with the Lobina was too salty and I could not eat it. We had reservations for 12 people, the Team was happy to finish the Baja 1000. We order drinks then appetizers, and the main dish. We waited over an hour for our food and not all dishes were served. When we did not leave a tip for bad service the server got very aggressive. The manager was also very rude. We over paid for bad service. Never again this place can't handle large groups read more

Amazing steakhouse, had the rib eye and the filet mignon. Both were cooked and perfectly to medium, sides offered are traditional mashed potatoes, baked potatoes, and fries. The ambiance was great and the staff was welcoming. The prices were definitely a bit high like any hood American steakhouse. Definitely recommend it. Amazing quality for a steakhouse. We called an hour beforehand for a reservation and luckily they had space. We were seated relatively quickly. We started out with appetizers. The baja fries were sooo good. The steak included was so high quality, it wasn't chewy at all even though it was cut into large pieces. The guacamole was also delicious. The ceviche was tasty, with balanced citrus flavors without being too acidic. The carpaccio was delicious as well. Personally I didn't order drinks, but they had a large variety of liquor and wine available. As for my fillet mignon, wow. It was cooked perfectly at medium rare, and it sliced like butter. I would say the bacon around it was unnecessary, but it didn't take away from the steak. The mashed potatoes and veggies were alright, but the steak really was fantastic. I also tried my friend's prime rib, which had a huge portion, and also was very delicious. Overall, it was a wonderful meal. I will say service felt slow at times, though I'm not sure if it only felt that way because I was hungry. The ambiance at the restaurant is lovely, with dimmed lighting and lots of huge booths. When we visited Baja California, it was during the winter time. The hotels food was ok, nothing great and you could only really use the jacuzzi and indoor pool. During the day we dined of course near the harbor, but during one of the nights we decided to try this place out. It was absolutely fantastic, the quality was up their with us city restaurants and the waiter had some of the best service ever. Prices were a little steep. 1. Great decor 2. Excellent wine menu. This was our first time here and wasn't expecting much as we were coming in last minute referred by our host from the hotel Quintas Papagayo which was also a really good spot to stay at, 5 minutes away. From the beginning to the end the service was awesome, greeted right away and seated within seconds. The inside was lighted very nicely that contrasted the look and feel of a traditional Mexican restaurant but very formal like a high end fine dinning restaurant in the states. Very clean including the restrooms that provide small towels instead of paper towels. The food, AMAZING! Being a steakhouse I chose the filet mignon cooked medium rare and it was right on point. Everyone in the group was very pleased and since it was my uncles birthday they brought out a small dessert as well. They had a separate side for a bar in case you were coming in for a small dinner or late hour drinks. Outside there was good music playing along with what looked like a performing stage and grassy area for a small concert. Definitely can see it pumping in the summer as it's location is perfect. Food: I got the New York steak for my main course and we all got appetizers for the table. The Baja fries were awesome, they don't skimp on the quantity! The tuna ceviche was also delicious. Now the steak - Medium/Rare was excellent! Didn't need salt, sauce, nothing. A buddy got the porterhouse steak and WOW that thing was huge! Everything was excellent and everyone said their meals were great. The ONLY downside - I couldn't exchange my fries for a salad. :( Minor item... As for the menu, it has a huge variety. Pasta, pizza, steak, it has a little bit of everything that you could want. Atmosphere: Beautiful restaurant inside, I love the huge oak (or whatever it was) wood tables. They come out with these HUGE steak knives too. We sat outside with the heat lamps, it was a beautiful night outside, a little chilly, but we were comfortable. Really nice inside. Downside - there was a local cat walking around, not sure if he was supposed to be there or not... Price: Probably the biggest downside, it was a fairly pricy place. But steak, 2 beers and appetizer plus tip for $50 really isn't THAT bad, but there are cheaper places. However, it was really good, so I didn't really bat an eye at the price. Service: Excellent service! The guys were attentive, quick to take our orders and refilled our drinks regularly. They also were able to divide our receipt easily, so that was a plus. Overall: This place was awesome, definitely a great steak house in Ensenada. The price was probably the biggest negative, but I mean... if you want a good steak, you will have to pay for it! We were looking for a steakhouse for our New Year's Eve dinner and Sano's was the only game in town. Unfortunately, we didn't know that reservations were required weeks in advance. Needless to say, we were told that there were no tables available... Well, a huge Pacific storm brought torrential downpours and we decided to brave it and try our luck. There were hardly any diners present. Nevertheless, we were told that all the tables were reserved but we could eat at the bar. My wife and I weren't thrilled with dinner on bar stools and our waiter, Jorge, sensed that. He routinely went back to the restaurant side to see if there was a last minute cancellation, but there wasn't any. Luckily, a table opened up in the bar area and we were quickly seated. Our culinary experience really started with Jorge as he went over all the menu options and recommendations. Our first course was the shrimp and lobster bisque. My wife isn't a big soup fan, but this bisque she devoured. When it came time for the entree, we both ordered the fillet mignon, though I got the larger cut. Both steaks were thick and cooked perfectly medium. My wife's steak came with a delicious cream mushroom sauce and mine was with a dry rub. Both had a terrific flavor profile and texture. The sides were not over powering and let the steaks be the star of the show. Dessert was a shared affair, creme brulee for two, and absolutely delicious. We can't wait to visit again in the spring or summer when the roof opens to the warm pacific skies and try some of their other offerings. The ambience is romantic casual with an upscale feeling not common among Ensenada restaurants. The wait staff is superb and Jorge even gave us recommendations for wineries and restaurants on our way back to the States. Is it the best steakhouse in Ensenada? It's the only steakhouse. Lovely ambiance and decorations. We arrived right on time for our reservation and were seated right away after a temperature check. Menus were all digital which is fine in the time we live in. Started with a spicy mezcal cocktail for me and a chocolate one for my wife. Had those with a ceaser salad and clam chowder. The salad was light and clean and the chowder came in a fresh bread bowl. My 500 gr ribeye came out perfectly medium and it compared to any top steakhouse in los Angeles at about half the price. My wife enjoyed every bite of her filet even though she's a purist and had to remove some of the mushroom sauce on her steak. For dessert we had a beautifully textured flan. Our server Victor paced the meal perfectly and was very attentive. Anyone who wants an incredible meal that you will think about for years to come deserves to try sanos. read more

I was blown away by my dining experience at Sano's Steak House. Due to getting lost, we arrived 30 min past our reservation and the staff was extremely understanding, sitting my party right away. The restaurant was modern yet elegant, somewhere you would hold a wedding reception. My party wanted to see the Warriors vs Thunder game and the staff changed every TV in the building to the game. We began the evening with appetizers of oysters, a delicious version of carne asada fries, and caesar salads. The caesar salad was probably top 3 best caesar salads I've ever had in my life. I had multiple glasses of the syrah wine as it paired very well with my steak. I choose the filet mignon wrapped in bacon. It was mouth watering, not to mention cut like butter. We finished our evening with expresso and pecan pie that made you want to ask for the remaining pieces to take home. If you're reading this and thinking I am 400 lbs, you are wrong. I had an unpleasant experience, and would not return. We went for my birthday dinner, we were a party of 10. Service has awful, the waiter was rude and treated us like he was doing us a favor. The food was good, however my pregnant sister-in-law found a hair in her food less than halfway through her meal. When we told the waiter they offered her a dessert and when we asked about her meal the rude waiter said, they will not replace or deduct the cost of the meal since "she only had a little bit left" and accepted the dessert. (like what?) This was never discussed or addressed. We were very discontent with the service and if you're planning on enjoying a wonderful birthday dinner, do not come to this place, as the food will be good but the service will ruin your night. read more

The first room is dim light with very iconic seating and almost jaw dropping fine dining service - at incredible prices!!! It was indeed an excellent steak. It came just like I ordered, medium red. Many other places it is over cooked. It was very juicy. You will not regret it. Wine prices are very reasonable. It is very nice decorated and service is very polite. We usually go in to a new restaurant without high expectations incase food does not taste good. We had been to a local brewery and ask for a recommendation of a not to fancy restaurant, (Ensenada has become a Food Mecca and many of the restaurants cater to tourists), something sort of local. He recommended Sanos Steak house, we had always driven by on our way into Ensenada so we new where it was located, we we got there two waiters immediately came up to us an greeted us asking if we wanted to be at the bar, which is a very nice setting or inside. We went inside more comfortable. When we got there I noticed that there were a lot or regulars because the waiters greater the clients coming in by name, I felt we landed at the right place. When ordering wine the waiter did not try to push an expensive bottle, he recommended a nice blend and explained what taste to expect. I was a good choice. You will not be disappointed. The service and appetizers were amazing! First rate, great wine selection. The Baja fries are AMAZING and so was the ceviche. Both times we came here, our meat was incredibly undercooked. My medium steak came out rare and my husband's burger on our next visit was ordered 3/4 and came out rare. In both instances, our server was quick to fix the issue. We decided to eat here last minute and the food was excellent except for the oysters...they just didn't taste fresh (and I love oysters). We have our boat docked at Ensenada Cruiseport Village and we're from Dallas, Texas, which has some of the best steakhouses in the USA, so we know great steak!! Outside the oysters, this is an excellent dining choice for steaks and the service was outstanding! Nice fancy/casual place to catch up. The meat was cooked medium, and tasted juicy delicious. The spinach salad with goat cheese had a lot of subtle rich flavors. Fettuccine Alfredo with chicken was not to heavy creamy, and the chicken was a bit grilled . This fish was not overly cooked an the flan was a a traditional as Mexico gets. Best part is the prices were very inexpensive for such wonderful flavors and rich atmosphere. Only thing they could improve is the service. I felt they could have served us a bit better being that the day an time we went was pretty empty place. read more

This restaurant is in my top five All Time Greatest Restaurant Experiences EVER!!! We were pleasantly surprised to find this gem. Our hotel recommended it to us. We were in the Baja for the Mexican 1000, seven hungry mouths to feed before 1300 miles of off road racing. A steak house was what we all needed! From the second we entered the place, our rag tag group of racers was given the best courtesy and hospitality. The decor was lovely, understated, very Mexican and traditional. It was clean, the rest rooms were clean Our serving staff was always making sure our waters were full and wines refreshed. We started with cerviche appetizers - delicious! Fresh! Each of us had different steaks which were locally raised as well - melt in your mouth! Very large plate sizes! And cooked to perfection! Our servers made sure to let us know what was available from local farmers and wineries to support the local economy I cannot wait to return! read more

I have enjoyed eating at Sano's five times in the last 18 months. I have never left a review and I feel guilty. This is the best restaurant I've ever eaten at in Ensenada. I usually have the fillet mignon wrapped in bacon medium rare veggies and rice. I ordered salmon capers appetizers and also cervichi with shrimp and scallops. Desert I have the berries over vanilla ice cream which is excellent. Last time I ate there was September 8 and my waiter was Uriel, he was excellent, friendly and funny. My wife and I always go to a nice steakhouse for our wedding anniversary we go on a five day vacation every anniversary and we always look for a good steakhouse to celebrate it in. Sano's Steakhouse happen to be a good steakhouse to visit this year in Ensenada and to our surprise the place was pretty good we made reservations for later that evening and when we arrived our table was ready the food was delicious. for appetizers we had the Ahi Tuna it was really good and the clam soup had so much flavor it was delicious, for our entrees my wife had the rib eye it was cook to perfection and I had the rack of lamb smothered in a wine sauce. The food was good and atmosphere was excellent our waiter Rigoberto was a good waiter not the best but attentive. I would definitely come back to Sano's for dinner when we come back to Ensenada. read more
