Went to Sangrias in Appleton, what an experience. They have indoor, outdoor and an elevated outdoor dining area. Had margaritas at the bar, then went into the dining room. I ordered the flaming tequila bacon wrapped shrimp, and as you can see in the picture, they were flaming, he bought the plate in, with a bottle of tequila, poured it on and lit it up. Seven giant shrimp, wrapped in bacon, along with vegetables, beans and rice with tortillas, guacamole along with warm chips and salsa, best meal ive had in a long time, it was sooooo good. First I just want to say, the food was phenomenal and their recipes have deep flavor, especially the rice! What really made our experience special was the compassionate staff! the manager Daniel and our waiter Christoval were very sweet when we realized that one of us hadn't known there were certain ingredients in our meal and she has autism so her texture avoidance did not allow her to eat and she was really upset due to hunger and discomfort. when I asked politely if we could sort the problem out someway they were extremely understanding and accommodating and even discounted her meal for us! it was her birthday and they made it so so special and we will definitely be bragging about that place for a good while read more

We stopped in on a Monday night and the parking lot was full. We were warmly greeted and seated promptly. Our server was Jose and he was friendly, attentive and funny. We liked the chips and salsa but the bean dip was bland. My wife ordered the veggie fajita and I ordered a steak burrito. The thing I love is that you choose 2 sides and 2 garnishes unlike most Mexican restaurants who give you Spanish rice and refried beans. I ordered black beans and poblano rice, my wife ordered roasted veggies and a carrot salad. All of our food was delicious with good portions and reasonably priced. Service was quick. We got seated immediately. Upstairs, downstairs, indoors, outdoors, large and small options. Staff friendly but busy. Ambiance is loud, we had 4 birthdays during our meal, fun to watch but loud loud! Meal itself was good. Portion sizes as you can see are huge. But menu hard to choose from. Sampler platter did seem to mush together in terms of textures and flavors. Molcajette was good. Liked that they gave spice on the side so I could add more. Flavorful, hot when it came out. Based off the full parking lot and streets I figured it was going to take a lot time to get a table, but I was able to sit at the bar right away. I really liked that I was able to pick out two side with my enchiladas. The food also came out right away. I'm not sure if it was because I ordered as soon as I sat down but I was never offered any chips. I was looking forward to trying the bean dip they come with. The service was fine. It was a little slow and I'd be on the verge of reminding them of something and they would do it/bring it. I'd certainly go back. read more

Went to a family gathering with 10 people on March 21 and were served by Miguel in their upstairs dining area. It was very busy and there was another group of 10 seated nearby. Despite all that, Miguel was friendly, quick to answer questions and took our complicated order very easily. There were several special order requests and every single one of them was delivered without error. The food was outstanding and served quickly, the service was top notch, and the price was very reasonable for that type of environment. I eat there probably 10 times per year and it is always good. As we walked up to Sangrias I said such a cute place, a residential house turned restaurant. My husband had eaten here before and raved about it. We both lived in CA for 40 years and after moving back here haven't really found a Mexican place we loved, so I was skeptical. Jose greeted us and we said we need a bit more time. My husband ordered the same as last time, carne asada steak and chicken enchilada presented beautifully with an orchid and fried jalepeno. I was a bit confused in ordering the enchilada plate. I couldn't figure out how many it came with or the pricing on each. Jose was such a great help. I got the traditional, which came with 4. You simply get charged once for the highest priced item, which was 2.50. I got, carnitas (pork) steak, chicken and cheese. Very nice presentation with a side of jalapeño mashed potatoes with bacon and black beans along with garnish of guacamole and spicey salsa....my 1st bite....OMG...the pork carnitas was so flavorful and then the steak...excellent, the chicken very good and the cheese, loved it! I have to say I was impressed with the food, ambiance and especially the service. We had enough to take home for a small lunch the next day. Turns out Jose lived in CA for years as well. He's such an asset to Sangrias....which I must try come summer. I highly recommend and will have a difficult time ordering something else cause this was SO DARN GOOD. The best Mexican food we have had in a long time. The menu has a lot of the traditional choices and some nice options. You get to pick your sides and the tropical rice was a nice option not typically available elsewhere. Our server was terrific and very fun. Saw how well he interacted at every table. Food was delicious! Would recommend takeout instead of dining in. Was told there would be a 45 minute wait so we took a seat at the bar. The bartender was extremely busy and didn't stop moving for the entirely of our dinner. Another guy jumped in to help and grabbed my husband another drink. He made the drink and left so it sat at the other end of the bar for about ten minutes until the bartender had time to check on us. I let him know the drink was made and sitting at the other end of the bar. The bartender then stuck a straw in the drink and tried it before garnishing with a lemon and serving it to my husband. Meanwhile the hostess sat on her phone for nearly the entire hour we were there. Periodically she would stop Snapchatting long enough to roll some silverware. So unsanitary after being on her phone! She did take time from texting to make herself a frozen drink behind the bar. Hosts/hostesses are the first and last impression customers have about the establishment, hopefully she gets some training to properly represent Sangria's. read more

There are many Mexican options in the Fox Valley, but IMO, Sangria's is hands down the best. Their servers are always friendly, the food is always outstanding no matter what you pick, and it's always presented in a beautiful way as well. They offer lunch and drink specials, have reasonable prices and the servings are generous. I love boxing it up so I can enjoy more later :) The location itself is so neat; a beautiful old home converted into a restaurant with an outside bar. My first visit to Sangria was pleasant and the food was delicious! Good amount of food, the staff was very pleasant and helpful. I do have one complaint I asked the girl at the entrance did she have a bag for my to go box. She answered yes and bent down and was taking a while to bring up a bag we heard all of this paper rustling and when she finally handed us the bag, the bag was used and wrinkled. This woman emptied the garbage out of this bag and handed it to us. I was appalled! We took the bag didn't want to make a scene and left. That was just plain nasty. I still would recommend this restaurant for the good food and otherwise very nice staff. read more

Five stars and more! The chips with bean dip and salsa, so yummy! We had to get more bean dip! My shrimp tacos were so flavorful with fresh ingredients. I love that there are so many choices for your two sides and different than the standard refried beans and rice. I had the poblano rice and it was really good. All of the food is delicious!! Still in a food coma two hours after leaving Sangria's! Wow. We were greeted with delicious chips and salsa and added the chili con queso. Best queso I've ever had! We then ordered a premium margarita (me) and a grilled pineapple mojito (friend). My margarita was sweeter than I'd have liked, but so are most. I somehow managed to also order and eat most of an entree - the enchiladas rojas (pictured). So good! Very plentiful with four long enchiladas - most places tend to do two or three. I ordered patatas as a side and they brought beans instead. Not hugely disappointing as the beans and tropical rice were good. Decent service, all very quick, and tasty! A fun menu to boot.
