Ordered the bacon wrapped flaming Tequila Shrimp

Went to Sangrias in Appleton, what an experience. They have indoor, outdoor and an elevated outdoor dining area. Had margaritas at the bar, then went into the dining room. I ordered the flaming tequila bacon wrapped shrimp, and as you can see in the picture, they were flaming, he bought the plate in, with a bottle of tequila, poured it on and lit it up. Seven giant shrimp, wrapped in bacon, along with vegetables, beans and rice with tortillas, guacamole along with warm chips and salsa, best meal ive had in a long time, it was sooooo good. Margaritas were delivered to the table on the waiters head. Portions were huge, and to go boxes were the order of the day. Highly recommend

We stopped in on a Monday night and the parking lot was full. We were warmly greeted and seated promptly. Our server was Jose and he was friendly, attentive and funny. We liked the chips and salsa but the bean dip was bland. My wife ordered the veggie fajita and I ordered a steak burrito. The thing I love is that you choose 2 sides and 2 garnishes unlike most Mexican restaurants who give you Spanish rice and refried beans. I ordered black beans and poblano rice, my wife ordered roasted veggies and a carrot salad. All of our food was delicious with good portions and reasonably priced. The is a converted house so there are separate dinning rooms which keeps the noise down. I would definitely recommend Sangria's

Service was quick. We got seated immediately. Upstairs, downstairs, indoors, outdoors, large and small options. Staff friendly but busy. Ambiance is loud, we had 4 birthdays during our meal, fun to watch but loud loud! Meal itself was good. Portion sizes as you can see are huge. But menu hard to choose from. Sampler platter did seem to mush together in terms of textures and flavors. Molcajette was good. Liked that they gave spice on the side so I could add more. Flavorful, hot when it came out. Hope to come back for another meal. Happy eating!

Based off the full parking lot and streets I figured it was going to take a lot time to get a table, but I was able to sit at the bar right away. I really liked that I was able to pick out two side with my enchiladas. The food also came out right away. I'm not sure if it was because I ordered as soon as I sat down but I was never offered any chips. I was looking forward to trying the bean dip they come with. The service was fine. It was a little slow and I'd be on the verge of reminding them of something and they would do it/bring it. I'd certainly go back.

Traditional enchilada plate, pork, steak, chix, cheese. Side of mashed potatoes and spicey salsa. Excellent!

As we walked up to Sangrias I said such a cute place, a residential house turned restaurant. My husband had eaten here before and raved about it. We both lived in CA for 40 years and after moving back here haven't really found a Mexican place we loved, so I was skeptical. Jose greeted us and we said we need a bit more time. My husband ordered the same as last time, carne asada steak and chicken enchilada presented beautifully with an orchid and fried jalepeno. I was a bit confused in ordering the enchilada plate. I couldn't figure out how many it came with or the pricing on each. Jose was such a great help. I got the traditional, which came with 4. You simply get charged once for the highest priced item, which was 2.50. I got, carnitas (pork) steak, chicken and cheese. Very nice presentation with a side of jalapeño mashed potatoes with bacon and black beans along with garnish of guacamole and spicey salsa....my 1st bite....OMG...the pork carnitas was so flavorful and then the steak...excellent, the chicken very good and the cheese, loved it! I have to say I was impressed with the food, ambiance and especially the service. We had enough to take home for a small lunch the next day. Turns out Jose lived in CA for years as well. He's such an asset to Sangrias....which I must try come summer. I highly recommend and will have a difficult time ordering something else cause this was SO DARN GOOD. We came late lunch BTW, around 2pm. So not very busy. Thanks again.

First time here. Got here early on a Saturday, the parking lot is small so you should expect it to be busy. The service was great, we got seated right away. The chips and salsa came with bean dip. The enchiladas were tasty & the Cancun Pineapple Shrimp was excellent and plated well. The only drawback was the smaller upstairs room can get a bit loud when it's full.

    Drinks

Excellent cocktails at bargain prices. Food was bland except for the tasty beans. Sat outside on deck which is in the parking lot. Not a lot of options in Appleton on a Sunday night. Friendly staff.

Great food, nice atmosphere, friendly service. This is better than most Mexican restaurants around Wisconsin.

Number two: they have five tables to eat at so you don't have to eat in your car. I ordered quesa-birria tacos with rice and beans and hubby ordered a quesadilla with asada. The service is at the counter and they call you when your order is complete. The lady who was taking our order answered all of our questions about the food and what we wanted. We waited about 5-7 minutes and then helped ourself to a condiment bar for anything we may have needed to accompany our meal. The tacos were crispy and juicy with the perfect simple flavor I've come to love from authentic food...nothing over the top but pure flavor. The quesadilla was FULL of meat and cheese...just the way it should be. He actually liked the very hot salsa with sour cream for his dipping sauce. They had a constant stream of customers so its advertising must be word of mouth. We'll definitely return for some street tacos when in town again. There are several other cantinas around that same area so just make sure you're going to the gas station.

Sadly, it was near flavorless with the exception of the red and green sauce on my enchiladas. Hubby ordered a mignon chimichanga with cheese sauce and I ordered the enchiladas with red sauce, green sauce, and cheese sauce. Both of us had rice and beans. Hubby's chimichanga had very few pieces of meat but LOTS of grilled peppers and onions. The vegetable pieces were large and chunky. He only ate half of it and only had a bite of the rice and beans. Both of them were flavorless that might as well been microwaved from a pouch or can. The trio of enchiladas were ordered with fajita chicken. Each was covered with a different sauce. I tried all but only ate the cheese sauce one as it gave some moisture to the chicken and it wasn't so dried out. The green sauce was so acidic it almost took my breath away. Perhaps it was on the verge of needing to be thrown it. Rice had no veggies, barely pink in color and no flavor. Beans were creamy but again no flavor. Overall the food was super bland and not tasty at all. I'm unsure why people pay those prices for flavorless food. Perhaps it all goes back to the presentation...a smear of sour cream and standing chimichanga must be impressive to Appleton locals. Service was just okay. We had to ask someone else for help as our server was nowhere to be found. She did apologize and said she was folding silverware in the other room. It's a beautiful restaurant but they should redirect some of that money to hiring a chef who can bring life to the flavor profile of the food.

The lighting was perfect and the music was catchy without being intrusive. In short, Antojitos nails the balance between trendy and original that so many restaurants strive for. It's not just a pretty face, either--they serve fresh, elevated Mexican cuisine that delivers on quality but doesn't skimp on the portion sizes. Their service is also unusually fast. Once seated, we immediately received a bowl of chips and three delicious dipping sauces. If the chips had been fresh, they would have been godly. Our appetizer, the sope, was superb, and our entrees--the bajio enchiladas and a chimichanga for entrees--were delicious and filling. They also have plenty of alcoholic and nonalcoholic drink options! We went with the virgin pina colada and the virgin mango margarita and enjoyed them. Overall, our experience with Antojitos could not have been better, and we highly recommend it to anyone who likes Mexican cuisine.
