I grew up around Mexican family, I can truly say that these tacos are made with love. I've tried most of the Mexican places around Appleton, and the taste of the steak reminds me of my family's Mexican cook-outs.. mariachi music in the background, sombreros everywhere.. these people must really have a passion for cooking and sharing their meals with the world. This is some of the worst "Mexican" food I've ever had. This doesn't even approach ballpark quality. This food had no flavor. It didn't even have that wedo nacho ballpark flavor. Bland lettuce. Bland tomato. Absolutely no spice. And then sour cream to... offset the bland? A few chips in the terrible meat quality gave me my second piece of gristle. My friend was craving tacos and wanted to try this place out. Cute small place. Friendly people. We were able to sit down right away since it wasn't busy. They brought out chips, salsa, and bean dip right away. Definitely not made there so if you're looking for homemade dips and chips, this is not the place for you. My friend ordered three chicken tacos, a side of rice, and a side of beans. I ordered one steak taco, two pastor tacos, and a side of rice. Tacos weren't the best. They tasted cold and not fresh. I feel like pastor tacos are usually bursting with flavors, but I feel like they were pretty bland as well as the steak taco. My friend also said that her tacos didn't taste fresh as well. We ended up not eating some of the tortilla and just mixed it with our rice to eat instead since the tortillas were alittle hard. The rice was pretty soft. Probably too soft for some, but I didn't quite mind it. Overall, my friend and I agreed that we will probably not be returning. read more

Ordered Carne asada tacos, AL pastor tacos, salsa, rice and beans. The carne asada wasn't bad. A little dry, a little fatty but ok. Al pastor was fatty and not very good. Tortillas were mediocre. Salsa was very oily. ? Which I have never experienced before. Beans were ok but have hot dogs in it? Rice was good. This was our second time eating here. Same results both times. This is real, authentic Mexican food and it is good! The owner will proudly tell you the recipes come from his grandma. The service is fantastic and the food is so good. The lengua is delicious. I have been in this location before when it was the previous Mexican place. The new owners of Taco House have done a great job updating the decor and space. There is still limited seating but at least they take credit cards! These aren't your typical street tacos - they are huge. They only do Mexican style tacos (cilantro and onion) but that's ok because tacos really shouldn't be any other way. The steak tacos are yum! And I like that they have cabeza and lengua too. This is a revamped place with a simple but stylish inside. The menu is small but delicious! I got 3 of the 5 taco options (pork, chicken, and steak) along with the pickled/spicy veggies. Tacos were about $2 a piece. The pork was a tasty version of al pastor soaked with pineapple and other spices (in was our favorite!), the chi was moist but simple, the steak (second favorite) was very well seasoned. They also have some good hott but flavorful hot sauce. Ethan who served us was very polite and helpful! He recommended the goat and the torta. Can't wait to go back! The service tome was great for us but the people at another table had to wait a bit longer because someone ordered out 13 tacos... Small but very well decorated, clean, & welcoming! Got 4 Steak and 4 El Pastor tacos and was NOT disappointed. I eat a lot of Mr. Taco and Fronteras and I would put this place up with them as far as flavor and quality. GREAT hot sauce! The El Pastor was a little over salted, but I would take that over underseasoned any day. Prices are a little higher than the competition, but they fill there tacos more so I believe it's fair overall for the product they're providing. Looking forward to trying more from them! read more

I stopped into Taco House on their opening day! Definitely one of the better tacos in town!! They only do Mexican style tacos. They leave the corn tortillas on the grill a bit so the tortilla doesn't fall apart, they have a hint of a crunch and I like it! The salsas are very good. The steak is his own recipe and not like any place in town. I'd say that it has an American flavor to the steak but it's very good! I'd say definitely the best flavored steak flavor for a taco in town! I really think he hit a home run with the al pastor! It is fantastic! Very Mexican and authentic! The beef tongue was shredded and I prefer cubed but the flavor was very good. They put the most meat in the taco than any other place in town! I would order all of these again!! I've also tried the Torta and I am a fan! I am a huge fan of the Torta Cubana and other than no milanesa and chorizo omelet inside, it is fantastic! Probably my favorite Torta in the Fox Valley. Saw this place was new and had to check them out. I've been on the hunt for good steak tacos since moving back to Wisconsin last year. Sadly, I've been disappointed in most of the local places in Appleton. Ordered steak tacos, pork tacos, pork torta and a steak quesadillas. The tacos and torta were delicious! Best steak taco I've had in Appleton! Lots of meat, great flavor. Same for the torta. My son ate the quesadillas and said it was good too. I will definitely be back for more tacos, tortas, and to try the burrito. Took a star off because the food didn't come with any salsa. Never had that before. Also, no sour cream, tomatoes, lettuce or anything with the quesadillas. And they forgot the second quesadillas I ordered. They didn't charge me for it though. Even still, I will be back! I heard about Taco House from a friend. I gave the birria burrito a try. They offered a taco with birria so I could get a better feel for the taste of the meat. It was amazing.
