I'm an avid lover of good authentic Mexican food and El Sarape does NOT disappoint!…read more This is true Mexican food! We came in pretty late last night maybe around 8, and were seated right away of course. Our waitress was disoriented because there was a lot of closing duties being performed while the restaurant was still open, that being said it took awhile for our chips and salsa, drink orders to be taken. My margarita was delicious! I had steak tacos and a side of rice and beans, and I think I went to food heaven for a brief moment. Its not a 5 star dining "experience" but if you're looking for truly authentic Mexican food and the catchy dancy music this is the spot!

I finally had to get up and go to the hostess station. Finally our server came. He apologized up and down and said from the bottom of his heart he was sorry...apparently nobody informed him of our table. I get it... Things happen. Our food was brought promptly and it was very good. Unfortunately, we were done eating and we sat there for over 20 minutes just looking at each other at amazement. No one came to bring us our bill or package up our leftover food. We just sat there... Finally, our waiter came, and even though I told him we would like separate checks in the beginning..., he still had to take the time and split them up for us. He finally came and told us we didn't need to tip because his attention span was off tonight. I wish you had a better first time experience... Maybe if the service improves we will be back. Until then, I think we'll stick with margaritas down the street.

You order and pay at the counter and they will bring your food to your table. This location is most convenient to my in-laws home, so we stop here at least once every time we visit. We were here at least four times over our most recent trip. Why? The location is convenient. The service is fast and efficient. The price point is budget friendly. And, most important, the food is great. Favorites include the tacos and burritos with either steak or chorizo. This week we were offered tacos in either American or Mexican style, so we tried out both versions. The Mexican version is protein, onion and cilantro. The American version has lettuce, tomato, shredded cheese and sour cream added. My husband prefers the Mexican version but I enjoyed ordering some of each for variety. We like adding the salsa to our food. We agree with other reviewers that it has a nice amount of heat. I would suggest you sample a small amount before you decide how much to use. We're huge fans!

Gotta go Mexican style, if you don't, that is your fault. If you are in need of a haircut, this place will steer you the right direction. The gentleman who took my order had a very nice hairdoooo. So much so, I said "where do you get your haircut". To be honest, I forget how the next part goes but at some point he says "I have scissors in the back if you want me to give you a haircut". As much as I trusted his taco making skills, I didn't trust his non-taco making skills. Aka - hairdooooo making skills. In my next paragraph I will continue the story. He tells me about this guy who gives good haircuts. He tells me to go to the nail salon. This is my first day in Green Bay so I do not understand his directions AT ALL. We look at my map on my phone together (yes together). He shows me where, but says all hairdooooo places are closed on Monday. I call anyways. They send me wills phone number. I call will. Will and I schedule an appointment on Wednesday to go chit chatty and get the hairdooooo. Next thing you know, I'm faded up.
