We were LUCKY enough to find ourselves in Green Bay on Taco Tuesday and found this place based on Yelp reviews and WOW we (fam of 4) couldn't be more impressed. Not only were ALL of us happy with the food and bev options, EVERYTHING was MUY DELICIOSO! My goodness...Well, to start, the service was Fantastic (...with a capital "F"). THEN, not to mention, over 75% of the people eating here were locals. And then, to take the cake, the second I took a bite I was immediately transported back 25 years to my time en Ciudad de México. This place is one of a kind! The food is authentic, the salsa is amazing, and the customer service top notch. My friend and I have gone to almost every Mexican Restaurant in the Green Bay Area for the last year. I order horchata, 3 carne asada tacos, and rice & beans everywhere I go and Carnitas El Bajio very quickly became my new favorite. We were left speechless by the food, salsas, prices, and customer service. This so quickly shot to my #1 favorite Mexican restaurant in Green Bay as it gave me the heart squeeze authentic taste, so fresh, so yummy. The tacos are actually delicious... I mean really authentic and delicious! My favorite was the Mexican which had cilantro, onion, and lime and comes with your choice of steak, pork, chicken, or chorizo. I loved the chorizo. Service is a little slow but after tasting those tacos that were only $1 I realized they were worth waiting for. Very fresh ingredients and super yummy! read more

Their carnitas are awesome and you get plenty for your money. Their tortas are probably my favorite menu item. They do them better than most places in town. I'm also a big fan of their tacos dorados. Little deep fried tacos filled with potatoes and chorizo that are simply heavenly. On Wednesdays, they serve up the best chicharrones (Mexican style pork rinds/deep fried pork belly) in town. Besides this, their staff (especially the owners) are kind, friendly, and generous people who make every visit fantastic. They are a shining cornerstone of local authentic Mexican cuisine and we are lucky to share our city with them. read more

My car was being serviced and while waiting I was looking for a pub that had good Yelp reviews. The Uber dropped me here by mistake, and I was glad he did. Amazed to find a carnitas joint in Green Bay, of all places. I wandered in and sat down. I started to with a carnitas taco with an ice cold Pacifico to wash it down. Heaven. The carnitas were not the best I ever had, but still very good, with the right amount of fat and lean meat. No char, unfortunately. Then, since it had been years since I had it, I tried the siete mares soup. The quality of seven seas soup varies all over the US and Mexico, and every restaurant has their own variation. This was pretty good. They did not skimp on the seafood, with plenty of shrimp, crab, calamari, mussels and whitefish. Tasty, but the broth was lacking the savory heat that is the difference between good and outstanding. Lots of vegetables, if that is your thing. 7 seas soup is always a risk at $20, but you never know. I had no complaints, but I would try something else on the menu before I ordered it again. The carnitas was so good I ended up getting a pound to go with some tortillas, and they were nice enough to throw in chopped onions, cilantro and salsa for free. The red salsa had plenty of heat and the green had plenty of flavor. Service was excellent. I will return to try the chorizo and carne asada. read more

I've been here a few different times. The first couple times it was really good juicy carnitas fresh salsa however this last time I was very disappointed. I was sold expired salsa 8 days old, carnitas were dry and over cooked and pastor meat looked and tasted like chorizo which I don't like read more

Last night was our first visit to Carnitas El Bajio. We tend to frequent another mexican restaurant in town and this restaurant is definitely going to be our new favorite. My husband ordered the chicken mole and he will order it again. He compares everything to his mom's cooking and the mole (who we learned is made by our waiter's grandmother) made the grade! I had a burrito and it was excellent. Our friend ordered the carnitas and was also very satisfied with her choice. Chips and salsa are great. Service was great. We will be back. read more
