I have used Sanford Tree Services for my home and commercial business clients since moving to Amelia Island, Florida in 2003. After the recent hurricane season in 2017, I contacted Joyce Sanford in November to inspect my property with her recommendations before the 2018 hurricane season. Today the work was completed. The quality of care and professional work continued to meet and exceed my expectations. In particular the lead trimming specialist, Garrett, walked the property with me to confirm his notes and carefully maneuvered the large cut limbs via secured ropes, like a surgeon, to his ground team between narrow areas avoiding shrubs and the home. The trees are now all trimmed with no ground footprint that this work was done. We are now ready for any strong winds that may find us during the next hurricane season. You have to ask yourself, what do you expect? Are you sick and tired of broken promises and shoddy work? If you want a licensed, insured business that will show up on time, safety is a priority, have enough people that have the skills and equipment to do the job right and work to completion then look no further. I have had several tree service nightmares, destroyed landscape, limbs cut and landing on the roof and no shows. Sanford's expertly removed 22 trees that could have very easily damaged neighboring homes. Trust me it doesn't get any better than this. Crews were working at my neighbors house and dropped a large empty equipment trailer right in front of my driveway on a two-lane road with no shoulder. It made it very difficult to get out, so I asked if they could move it. When they came back, they said they couldn't until the end of the day. So, I advised them they can't just block roads like this in front of other houses and that I would call the Sheriff if I needed to. At which time, they got very rude about the issue and even though they moved it, it is now parked in front of someone else's driveway. Crews should be more considerate of neighbors and should unload their equipment, then move the trailers out of the way. There was plenty of space off of a side road out of everyone's way. The area where they have two trailers parked is labeled "NO PARKING" for a reason. read more

Sanford's Tree Service was excellent all the way around. Not only was their estimate the very best (8 quotes), but the Arborist (Davin Martin). who came out to give me the quote was extremely knowledgeable about all of my trees and gave me confidence that I was selecting the best company possible to do this work. Steven, Hindo, Devin, and Manager Robert, had my huge Pine Tree removed and other work completed very quickly. Somehow, they did not even damage my lawn. This company is very well-run company, as they completed the removal quickly, like clockwork the stump grinder person was there right away, to grind the stump and right after the debris is hauled away. Discovered a dead tree limb in a front yard tree. Too high up for me to safely handle. Called Sanford's and talked to a very nice lady. She made an appointment for an estimate a few days later, which she kept. She gave me an estimate of $75 and said it might be a week or two before they could work me in. They actually showed up the next afternoon, cut and disposed of the limb in short order. The same gal called a few days later and said there would be NO charge. Must have taken pity on an old veteran. Anyway, Sanford's will be my 1st choice for any other tree work that needs to be done SUPER customer service. Will also recommend to my friends. This is the second time I've used them for tree removal and they always exceed expectations. They have the best arborist in Steve Martin who provided in depth analysis of the trees which I requested for removal. The crew showed up early and gave me breakdown of what they were planning to do. They worked non stop until completion. From tree removal up to cleaning of the debris and grinding of the stumps they were great compare to other companies. Magnolia tree? What Magnolia tree. Called to have it removed from my back yard, representative showed up properly, gave me a free quote, and said she would call back in a few hours with a date. With in an hour and a half, I had three trucks outside my house. IM NOBODY SPECIAL, just lucky. The tree was gone in a half hour. BTW it was a 20 foot Magnolia tree. I paid to have the stump removed which was done this morning 5/10, Very professional service. I DARE ANYONE TO SHOW ME WHERE MY TREE WAS. The work was THAT GOOD!!!!! Should I need them again?? Horrible professionalism! Company sent out a team that smoked marijuana on the job. I'm leaving this review for my friends because they don't have cellphones, they felt very unsafe with the workers under the influence while working. Please drug test your workers before hiring them and having them work difficult machinery. Very unsafe for them and anyone around them. read more
