It took a hot minute for our service to happen (just over a month from the time we got the estimate.) We didn't expect that... but apparently Curtis & his crew are in demand! It was well worth the wait, tho! Using a lift, they removed ALL dead foliage from our trees, removed overgrown branches, stacked all yard waste in a pile and then loaded it all into a dump truck via skid steer for same day removal! Aside from spruced up trees & tracks in the yard (think lawn mower tracks not muddy ruts!) from the skid steer -- no sign that they had even been there! They cleared out a second tree in the front yard and then removed a huge bush line. They left the area looking cleaned up, and all in all, was a 10 out of 10 job. I've been using Bryan for years. There's a lot of 100+ year old trees on my property and they…read moreusually need attention above the 50-foot level where the canopy is. Oaks, pecans, hickory's, magnolias, and hundreds of azaleas to trim back. I'm picky. Most of the visits to my home have taken more than a day to complete. JEA sent an arborist out (at Bryan's request) one time because the canopies reached over their power lines. Both companies (JEA and First Coast) worked together for a couple of days to clear limbs away from the power lines. I try to wait for the winter months when all the leaves are down. Cheaper for me cause there's usually truckloads of waste to haul off. He's usually spent time walking the property and telling me what he thought ought to be done. He's conscientious about not wanting to kill an old tree that has shade and life left. If diseased, he'll try to shape around it so I can get a few more years out of them. When it's time to take out a bad one, he's done that too. When there's stump grinding involved, for me that's always been a huge tree we had to take down. He's always outsourced someone else that only does stump grinding and told me that's a separate company and I'll have to pay that person. He might have a grinder for little stuff, I don't know. He's never taken down anything little for me. I would recommend this company.

This tree was intentionally placed in the front yard to block visibility into our home and provided a habitat for multiple hummingbirds. It was completely chopped up and it is going to take years to get it back to the beautiful bush it was. We did not hire this company and did not authorize any work on our property. When I was contacted afterward, the conversation was confrontational, and I was asked for a receipt--despite the fact that we were not their customer. In my opinion, the work done on the neighboring property was also poorly executed. The bushes along the side of the house were cut into awkward tree shapes rather than being maintained as a proper hedge line, which looks unprofessional and unsightly. While I am not a horticulturist, I was raised with strong guidance in this area from my grandfather, who was highly respected in the field. Overall, this experience was upsetting and avoidable, and I would urge others to closely monitor any work being done near their property.
