I was sold on the reliability of the Bennington brand and the "customer commitment" that South Austin Marine "sells" to their potential customers. See South Austin Marine's customer commitment link on their website. Quality & Workmanship Facts: Upon Delivery: The interior lights were not working and required wiring repair. The bilge pump was not working and needed repair. The matt lining under the helm seat was prematurely wearing out with little to no traffic. South Austin Marine promised to replace this quality flaw under warranty but that never happened. Other than no replacement matt, these other two repairs were made during the first warranty maintenance by South Austin Marine that cost me in excess of $400.00 for the first maintenance cycle. Issues as of 70 engine running hours in June 2020 The Garmin Depth Finder had started showing signs of moisture leakage under the display. Now the unit works intermittent, of course not when you really need it. About the same time, the faux wood (plastic) panel on right side of dash panel fell in my son's lap the other day while driving the boat. The panel's insert screws were poorly installed and failed mechanically. We have glued that back in place but one can tell the glue will not hold in place for long. Then, we were out on the boat another time, and noticed both the swivel and front-back setting mechanisms on the captain's chair were broke. In fact, when I talked to the Bennington "Co-Founder", he was already aware of this quality issue. Yet, they continue to ship this to customers. Now, when you take off or stop, the seat flies backwards or forwards freely. Last time out on the boat, the rear port side sheet metal on underside of rear (stern) decking came completely unfastened (roughly 6ea light duty aluminium screws missing). To eliminate further damage to the sheet metal, I went ahead and bought replacement stainless steel screws to secure the panel. In doing so, it was recognized that all screw holes had been tapped crooked, .....all in different directions making the repair more difficult. In summary, every time, .....every time my family takes the boat out, another part of subcomponent falls off the boat. Service and Repair Effort Facts: No successful repairs or replacement efforts by South Austin Marine have been confirmed nor communicated, other than empty promises, since the first warranty service which involved $400.00 in revenue. South Austin Marine appears only to be interested in supporting revenue based service requests, not repairs that include non-revenue warranty claims. I then spoke to one of the "Co-Founders" at Bennington apparently. He was immediately defensive as to my comments on the quality of workmanship and failures I have experienced on this new Bennington product. This "Co-Founder" then made promises that the parts needed were all on order (same thing South Austin Marine personnel kept telling me for a couple months now for some parts). Guess what???? The "Co-Founder" did not do what he said he was going to do either. Neither organization has shown good faith in proper warranty services and repairs. Going Forward Facts: Yes, I'm going to write the BBB about both organizations. This is poor business practice at best. No quality assurances or efforts have been made to the customer after the sale of the boat, as promised on both vendor's websites (unless revenue is imminent). Pathetic "Bennington" customer experience.

The next day they called to tell me there were no brake lines available for my Jeep anywhere with MOPAR, or any other manufacturer. People in my situation are all waiting months for these things on back order. Most shops would have probably told me to come tow this Jeep out of their way until a brake line was available. Not Juke! They thought outside the box and let me know a hydraulic shop they work with could build the part for me, and it would only be $80 more! Perfect! Even though they had to run around town with these brake lines, and rely on another shop to hunt down parts and fabricate custom brake lines for me, they had my Jeep back to me after just 6 business days! The other great thing is Miguel kept me updated the whole time and I never had to worry about if my vehicle was being taken care of. My car had to be towed because basic logic well known issue for GMC/Chevy 6.2 liter V8 engines have a lifter issue which requires engine replacement. The car wasn't in bad shape as you say. Cadillac dealership said I should have it towed due to the knocking sound. My car has always been kept immaculate. Yes you quoted a fair price, it was Lambs in Lakeway that was ridiculous and most people know they are. The engine took long because they sent the wrong engine and in regards to my finances it wasn't I couldn't pay . I was at the mercy of you and I was nothing but polite every single interaction with you. Your dropped the ball so many times and you actually asked me for advance payment at one point because you needed to pay your taxes . I didn't want to pay you UPFRONT Frank. You fix then pay, that's most every way it's done . You didn't have the money to cover costs which is a concern regarding running a business. I had also just spent money on another car repair and boat repairs . The car sat as I decided what I wanted to do. As far as stating you could have charged me storage you never once mentioned that and I have every phone call that proves that. Pretty shady of you to pull that out on your reply here. Again not on single time did you ever mention storage fees. So please don't act as if it was some favor you did. The car went in for an engine replacement. As you confirmed the day you put the engine in to test drive you call me telling me I need steering column replacement. Yes I have you on recording Frank stating that indeed the lift and big tires were the culprit. The steering was completely fine and it had not been driven once per you as we waited for the engine issue and replacement to be resolved. You now understand why I recorded you. You can't remember what you told me. I didn't struggle to pay you. I had a boat in repair and another car a Range Rover in repair. I communicated to you very professionally. By the way let's remember you had me pay up front on everything. It was the engine that was ordered that was delayed. 2. Regarding the transmission line. Let the public see this post. I pick up my car from Frank and I make it about a quarter to half a mile or so down road and what becomes the problem is the transmission line. Frank I have that call to you recorded as well and your claim that I accelerated or false and blew the line is total BS. It had nothing to do with big tires. I'm saving all my facts, statements from GM certified techs , and video of your guy coming over to "fix" it. Within a day or 2 it went out again and I made you tow it for free. It was your guy that you sent and had him do what he did and sent me on my way and that all was fine only to have it sent back to you. By the way on our recorded call you tried to lead me to believe with certainty it was one thing when in fact you were wrong and called me with another reason. Again grateful I recorded both those conversations. The reputable mechanics I discussed were my brothers out of Houston. My brother owns a professional garage and luxury and collector car biz for 22 years. The other reputable people was a connection I had out of A Cadillac dealer in Dallas. I mentioned this to you and so logically my car stayed locally with you. 3. The whole issue about you spending 200 for the detail I will just say to anyone reading this look at the pics of my Escalade left in his care. Never should have happened Frank. By the way I took a time stamp video of my car before it went back to you. I didn't spill the oil. That's a regular engine oil. Why would I need engine oil to leave in my backseat after you just repaired and did an engine replacement. Again shady of you to blame that on me. And by the way I had to waste 3 hours of my work day sitting there waiting on a detail. Completely unprofessional. 4. I asked you you fix my windshield wiper motor while you had it. You never did. I kept asking you very time you had the car and I have your texts alone that show you forgot several times. same thing Frank regarding the transmission thermostat. I asked you several times, you came out to fix my running board and forgot to get the transmission thermostat and windshield motor. Again pretty crazy you fixed my transmission yet our texts show you dropping the ball on the thermostat. I have lost count on the amount of texts I have that show you never show up on time. I'm done with my response. I'll update this post after claims court.

ROBERT is the biggest A Hole i have Ever had the displeasure of working with. 5 months ago he took my top from my boat which needed a 15" seem resewn. He quoted me about $600 to replace 2 clear window pieces. I had one week in advance appointment and dropped it off. It sat there for 2 weeks and ZERO was done on it. He calls me and gives me a "of $2400 on the original $600 pieces which is ridiculous!! I obviously declined his exorbitant price gouge and asked if my boat was ready As I was on my way to pick it up. He promised me it was. I arrive and the entire top is inside his office as well as the keys to my boat like I was going to steal it or something. He refused to put the top on back the way it was until I paid him $300 which should have been about a $50, 20 minute hand stitch. He refused to provide a cash receipt, and literally through the entire top in the back of my truck, walking into the office and locking the door behind him. Unacceptable on all levels. This is the most rude person I've ever had the displeasure to deal with and I'm making sure everybody else knows. I wouldn't let him touch anything of mine. He is an absolute jerk. There are many places in Austin and I suggest you do your research and leave this place out! read more

They were to recover an 100 year old antique chain with fabric from Calico. The chair was missing a wood wheel from one of the four casters and we explicitly discussed trying replace the wheel but do no remove the casters. The sister Anna agreed that removing the caster on such an old chair was not recommended. They picked up the chair and another item to be covered and we were told it would be 2-3 weeks for completion. After waiting for a month we called and were told they had someone quit and were delayed, at two months we were told COVID and other excuses and when we approached three months I told them I was coming to pick up the items and take them somewhere else and Anna said they were almost done. Another two weeks go by an finally they set a date for delivery. At first Anna apologized an offered a 15% discount for the 3 month delay, problem was she increased the total price by $100 and added a $40 delivery fee so the revised price was the same if not higher than the original. Play cards much? I was so done with these people and the lying I wrote a check to get them off my property but then noticed they removed the rear casters on my chair put felt pads to cover the holes and then put those caster on the front legs and cracked a leg. I called immediately and Adrian ( the brother) agreed he would cover the cost of a proper repair by another shop. We all agreed not to remove any casters and instead they remove all four, throw two away and fake the repair by putting the incorrect rear casters on the front leg. I am now taking the chair for proper repair to furniture care of texas and taking them to small claims for the repairs because they never answer the phone. Beware of people in business who never answer the phone and don't believe a word they tell you as they can't stick to the truth and make endless excuses. This chair has been in my family for over 50 years and is over 100 years old and they could care less that the broke the leg and screwed it all up. Many reviews have similar problems and I wish I had read them before entrusting them with such an important piece.

Without affecting the upholstery that my wife loved he he was able to reinforce the suspension, adding more spring hardware as well as some nylon webbing support. This type of work could not have been done onsite, as could many furniture repairs. They picked up the sofa, repaired it, and returned it 48 hours. I highly recommend them.

It's in great condition except for the cushions They were the original and definitely outdated. It's very expensive to buy new cushions, so we decided to have them recovered. I found Jerry on yelp. I selected Cen-Tex because of the reviews. I usually do not write reviews, but I am grateful to others that do, so I thought I should write one, too. My cushions are beautiful. The quality is great and everyone comments on how beautiful they are. Jerry was helpful in giving me ideas and ways to save money. What's even better, the price was very reasonable. That's important because we had a strict budget.
