Lee came out in very short notice and fixed the leather panels on a beloved Longhorn office chair that I gifted to my elderly roommate. A leather couch I purchased from Star Furniture developed a rip on the seat cushion. I had what I thought was a simple fix that turned out to be a major undertaking for other leather shops. They all suggested to have the couch taken apart in order to fix which would be ~$500 or more. Not to mention having to take it from my home. Sent the same pics to Lee and he said he could hand sew it on site. His quote was a fraction of others (less than $100) so I jumped at it. Once he arrived the job took about an hour and was exactly as I hoped. Time will tell if it holds but if anything gives first it will be the cheap fabric the manufacturer used on the couch. The only ding I gave would be communication/timing. He did keep up with email but there were delays. And even on the day of the repair, there was a job that kept him longer but he wasn't able to communicate this in a timely manner. All in all though his work is good and Leather Fix Austin/Lee is definitely recommended. read more

All I can say is wow about Lee with Leatherfix of Austin! He performed a miracle on my old leather couch and loveseat! He was very thorough in explaining my options and used extra care prepping the area with drop cloths and plastic. He was also able to patch a hole in the arm that my puppy chewed right after I got the couch. Even though the couch was bought on a swap page on FB, had lots of scratches from the previous owner's cat, and is 20 years old, he made it look brand new and I love the results! If I could give Leather Fix a gazillion negative stars, I gladly would. I had a Natuzzi leather sofa that needed cleaning. I now have a sofa that is completely destroyed. After Lee convinced me that he could "refinish" it to look like new, I unfortunately said yes. I now realize that he didn't clean the sofa and basically painted it, filling the seams with his so-called "finish." After I complained, he eventually came to "fix" it. What he did was run a blade through the "finish" (a/k/a paint) in the seams, cutting not just the stitching but the leather as well. When I lost it over what he had done, he insisted everyone would find what he did "Great!" YOU JUDGE FOR YOUR SELF FROM THE PHOTOGRAPHS. It will cost over $4,000 to replace my sofa. I guess the positive reviews are from people who wanted their leather sofa painted. If that's your goal, hire Lee. If, on the other hand, you value your unpainted, naturally beautiful leather sofa, DO NOT HIRE THIS MAN. I wish I had never met HIM. read more

My wife and I recently bought a off white leather couch and love seat that were floor models. After they were delivered we noticed quite a few tears and rubbed spots on the back side of both units * Evidently they had been reclined back against a wall or some object on the showroom floor that had rubbed completely through about 6 spots.. They looked terrible.. We called LeatherFix and Lee came over and worked on them for about two hours.. It was absolutely amazing how good they looked when he was finished ! All I can say is WOW! I initially thought he could patch them up and hoped when he was finished that the tears and rubbed through areas would be less noticeable but man was I surprised when I saw his finished work! He is a maestro when it comes to leather repair.. I am so impressed that if it were possible to give him a 10 star rating I would. This man, Lee, absolutely wasted my time. I sent a picture in over e-mail and he got back to me to set an appointment for a couple weeks later. He calls me the night before to cancel because of a water leak at his home. OK, no problem. I understand. So we reschedule for a couple days later. The date of the rescheduled appointment, he texts me to say he's running late. OK. I get home and I haven't heard from him. I call his cell and he doesn't pick up until the third call. When he does pick up, he's rambling about what a tough time a Land Rover is giving him. So I'm annoyed because I took my twin's car seats out of our Jeep Cherokee and squished them into our Mustang and took the kids in and out of a tight, low Mustang all day just to make sure the Jeep would be at home when Lee stood me up without calling. But I really want to get our seat fixed. So I give him another chance and ask that when he has time to contact me to reschedule. Nothing. I e-mailed him. Nothing. we contacted Lee at Leather Fix because our poor beloved leather couch had ripped in three separate places. This is a very nice Jennifer convertible sofa that goes easily for several thousands retail. Well, thanks to my dogs and my three year old I was keeping it covered because of how damaged it looked. (The insides were coming out in several spots and I was very embarrassed when we had company over). Lee came over in the evening (my husband and I both work full time) and brought our couch back to life for under 350.00. You cannot even tell there was damage. There is no way we could buy a couch like this for that price and he was very knowledgeable about how to keep it protected from further damage. As other reviewers mentioned Mr. Leather Fix (Lee) is very unreliable. His response always comes with lengthy excuses as to why he did not respond or resolve issues. He will give you every excuse, but never his own fault. That enough about his responsiveness. Lets talk about his quality of work. He was contracted to fix cracking and color issues on a Leather Set. Again it took much communications and delays just to get him to the house. At first we were pleased with the work performed. He applied a colored finish. Within weeks we saw the material he had begin to crack. With the passing a few weeks the material he added began to peel off. We called him and after several reschedules he showed up and began to give us a million reason why this was happening. None which he explained before doing the work. After time it became very clear this guy was good at story telling, but failed at providing results. He gave us the option of putting new leather on the items. We would just need to pay for the leather and he would do all the work at no additional cost (since we already paid him a significant amount for the initial work). Took some while but finally said he found leather that would work and by the way here is the price for the leather and the installation cost. At this point we decided just to stop with all the churn. We asked for a refund because it was still within the warranty period. We got a 50% refund that took several months to get. I wish I could post pictures of the work provided. We should have gotten a 100% refund. Because 100% of the work performed was a mess. read more

I had the finish on my leather sofa cushion damaged. Lee Tidwell came out and took the cushion with him to repair. Wanted $70 deposit. Said it would cost $135 and take a week. After a week, didn't hear from him. Called and he told me the same thing he did when he picked up the cushion. Obvious he had not worked on. Another week went by, still no word. Then I called him and asked him to bring the cushion back. He had hardly worked on it at all. Said he didn't have much time to work on but still kept my $70!!!! Unbelievable!!!! Terrible experience. Very poor quality repair. Was late for two appointments. Never met any time frame. I had to call him every week for an update for a 3 day repair. Showed up for a second repair without his drop clothes and necessary tools. Admitted that cushion repair was below his standards but tried to get me to accept it. I refused and insisted on him correcting the poor quality in finish to which he agreed. He then failed to deliver the cushion on the day that he stated. I then called him. He finally delivered the cushion in a different color than the couch it belonged with a very different finish. He did agree to refund my money minus $45 for service call.
