Coolest little neighborhood bar around. Great service, great friends. See you again not soon enough.

Awesome pub. We dined downstairs for happy hour. Fish and chips on happy hour is just 1 small piece…read moreof fish so keep that in mind but it was crispy, flakey and delicious! I also got a mushroom lasagna and it didn't feel hot enough/ didn't taste amazing after the first few bites. But hoping it's a one off and would like to try some other things. We weren't the biggest fan of the chicken sandwich (I think it was called the chicken royale?) we got either- it just didn't work with the combination inside the sandwich. Seemed like there was only 1 person running the whole downstairs (and maybe training someone else) but he was a burst of sunshine keeping it together. Because of the 2 dishes not really hitting the mark but fish and chips are great id give it between 3 & 4 stars! Will come back for the fish & chips and try something else as the atmosphere was lovely and service was nice. Also looks like they have nice deals for every day of the week at the upstairs portion.

Stopped in before a concert on a whim and were glad we did. McGinty's has a cozy, traditional Irish…read morepub vibe, and the staff was friendly with quick service. The only odd thing was that our server seemed to change halfway through our meal without anyone mentioning it. The fried green tomatoes (not pictured) were excellent and definitely worth ordering if they're on the menu. I had the shepherd's pie--it had great flavor but was unfortunately very salty, making it hard to finish. Overall, good food, great atmosphere, and a spot I'd recommend if you're in the area before a show.

Now that my beloved 'Cheers' (aka 'Brewers Art') is no more, it appears w/o even trying, that '29th…read moreStreet Tavern' has become my 'go to' spot. It's very much a 'local neighborhood bar'. There's no flash. There are no gimmicks. It's a local bar to go grab a drink and you're not in the mood for the trendy packed spots. It's very unassuming and great neutral space. Anyone can show up, any time. Everyone's welcomed. You can have a good convo w/o having to scream thru it. MASSIVE PLUS *smile*!!! From a musical perspective, all sorts of genres pump thru the system and the ability to make selections is much better than other bars, which is great. It's even better when your selections are getting other people to enjoy the music and their time there, as well. Always a crowd pleaser. Aside from a fully stocked bar, there's a great beer selection. I happen to LOVE ciders and there's always an excellent choice available. The bartenders are always welcoming and accommodating. People come to unwind and have a good time w/o any pretense. I really enjoy the Tavern for that reason.
