Ok. So my friend and I came here after dinner while we were in town for the evening. We both had a serious hankering for some ice cream. It was really close and we both figured 'why not'? :) Usually at a ice cream place I've never been to before, I usually play it safe and just order an ice cream cone. I decided I'd be brave and try something other than an ice cream cone. I took a chance and ordered a peanut butter sundae... I should have stuck with an ice cream cone. Ugh. The peanut butter sauce they used was really gritty, lIke unusually gritty. I can see if it would be gritty if they used chunks of nuts... but this was so gritty it reminded me of sand. The vanilla ice cream was ... ehhh. Had better. Nothing special. They used a really cheap, runny, whipped cream. Ew. No thank you. Then, the worst part...the cherry on top, Brace yourself here, folks. No, really. It was the cherry on top. This part was just super, super disappointing because I love cherries, especially cherries on top of sundaes. This cherry tasted like someone had sucked all the fun out of it, like it had been soaking in water for a week straight. Yuck. Word of caution: If you order a sundae, be prepared to eat one! They are huge and it will take a infinite number of hours to reach the bottom of the cup. May the odds ever be in your favor. :) My friend (who also got a sundae) and I ended up throwing a good bit of our sundaes away. Had the guy who took our order not been so nice and cheerful I would have likely given it one star.

Because when the craving for real tacos hits, logic and weather forecasts no longer matter. First things first -- parking is easy. Big stoned lot right at the shack. Love that for me. Second thing -- and this is important -- Little Mexico Tacos is CASH ONLY. I learned this at the counter, which triggered an immediate wallet excavation worthy of an archaeological dig. My goal: secure enough funds for a chorizo burrito and street corn in a cup. I found a $20 bill and decided to live dangerously. Plot twist #1: they were out of rice. Brief emotional damage. Apparently rice is a key player in many menu items, but I pivoted like a seasoned professional because when tacos call, you answer. Plot twist #2: my total came to $20.14. FOURTEEN CENTS OVER. I braced myself for the walk of shame, but the guy at the counter waved it off like the legend he is. Sir, if you're reading this, I hope your pillow is always cool and your tacos are always perfect. Also elite-level move: at freezing temperatures, he told me to wait in my car and he'd holler when my food was ready. That's customer service with survival instincts. Let's set expectations: there is no inside here. None. Zero. This is an open-air taco shack. If the weather isn't nice, you're eating elsewhere... or embracing your inner feral raccoon and demolishing tacos in your car. Now for the important part -- THE FOOD. Street Corn (mild -- because I specifically requested "no spicy chaos"): Creamy. Tangy. Fully sauced. Not bland, not overpowering -- just perfectly balanced. Also served in a cup instead of on the cob, which means maximum efficiency and zero mess - WINNING! Chorizo Burrito: Absolute unit. Packed with just-the-right-level-of-spice chorizo, huge portion size, and -- surprise MVP moment -- the tortilla was lightly crisped instead of being a sad floppy wrap straight out of a bag. Half of this thing could feed a small village. I finished every bite of the meat like it was my job. Bonus green sauce situation included (avocado? wizardry?) that I fully expected to melt my face off -- but instead it was mellow and delicious and paired perfectly with the chorizo. Final verdict: Little Mexico Tacos is the real deal. No-frills setup, big flavors, generous portions, kind humans, and the exact kind of taco shack energy that makes you feel like you've unlocked a local secret. I will absolutely be back when the weather warms up so I can sit outside like a civilized human instead of a burrito-powered winter gremlin.

To begin, the service at this place is exceptional. Typically they have a set of ice cream flavors that they serve for a day. However today I asked if they had a flavor that they weren't serving for that day. I'm just visiting from another state and just thought it wasn't on the menu. (100% my bad) However even though they didn't offer it, they were able to get it for me from their back freezer. This process of preparing it for me took time since it wasn't pre-prepared. But this goes to show you that this place priorities customers over comfort. Additionally, their ice cream is exceptional. It is all homemade and the flavor and texture of the ice cream is perfect. Would come again. If you are visiting Gettysburg this place is 100% worth coming to

We passed another ice cream shop to try this one after a tour guide mentioned it was among the best in the country according to a recent news article. While my two-scoop cone definitely hit the spot on a warm August afternoon, my daughter pointed out that the article's author might not have sampled some of the fantastic dairy stores and ice cream shops we have back home in the Midwest. I'd have to agree--I've had better in Minnesota and Wisconsin. Still, this is a charming stop with tasty treats and a fun vibe--worth a visit if you're in the area!
