I went there with my family recently. And the food was okay, it came out hot as expected, and I ordered their nachos grande but all the toppings were all in one spot. For example my jalapeno was hardly cut up and spread, as well as the avocado it was basically just a half avocado right in the middle of the plate. Would I go here again? Probably not. read more

Los Amigos: My New Spot I am a very picky person, and I like AUTHENTIC Mexican food, not Americanized versions. Los Amigos exceeded my expectations, and I am happy to say I will be back here consistently. It wasn't busy at all! And it looked very empty which I hope isn't always the case, so we were sat immediately. The place is vibrant and super clean, I was impressed at the way the waiter kept checking up on us. We started off with waters and they gave complimentary chips and salsa, which doesn't seem like much but I've come to learn here almost all places charge you for it. The chip salsa was good, it had a fresh tomato taste and it was tangy! We ordered right away when our waiter brought our drinks. I ordered the Pollo Con Arroz and my partner ordered the fajitas with shrimp, pollo and steak. We waited maybe 15 minutes and our came our food sizzling hot and it smelled so good right off the bat! The fajitas were so fresh! The meat was super tender and immediately you could feel the seasoning and flavor. My plate itself had cheese deliciously melting on my chicken, but as soon as I tried it I felt the authentic Hispanic pride that comes with serving good food! My ES dog was allowed in, and they were very nice to sit us away from kids and people so he could be unbothered. Now, reading the past reviews intrigued me ALOT while I was writing this. The floor was very slippery with grease. The don't clean the floors correctly. Tacos with a couple of shrimps and not a single toppings. I had to ask for them as extras. I will never eat here again. I am working nearby and have eaten here 5 times. Each time the service and atmosphere have met all my expectations. The food quality exceeds my expectations above the usual mexican restaurants that are all the same. Their lunch combos are overpriced so i always get a full size specialty burrito for a couple dollars more and enjoy every bite until i am so full i can barely move and return to work. I like the chipotle sauce burrito best but cannot remember what it's called. The chips are good not soggy with grease, and the salsa needs spicing up so they give me a free dish of spicy pepper puree stuff when i request it. I also enjoy the traditional music coming from the speakers. I never tried any bar drinks or other food to comment on. read more

We really enjoyed our food. We shared a Burrito de Carnitas. The restaurant is well lit and fun - nicely decorated and obviously well-maintained. The folks that work there obviously like the restaurant. The staff was very welcoming and friendly. The food was great with great prices, and a large parking lot - right off Rte 15. After a full day hike at the nearby mountain, stopped by this place in Thurmont to try the local tex-mex. Parking lot was full so it was in demand. Very nice restaurant with a nice bar and very clean restrooms. Staff was very friendly and helpful! Prices were good and the food was also good. I did need to get some hot sauce because it was a little bit bland but other than that it was pretty good. Chips and guac were OK. The guac seemed pretty generic unfortunately and I was hoping it would be a little bit more homey. But other than that, pretty good dinner. read more

Fajita burrito is so good. Chicken is flavored wonderfully. The burrito is covered with queso. Delicious. Service - very disappointing. Could see server standing around and not checking on our table. Had to ask three times about their reward program to finally get the response rudely that they no longer have it. I wanted to give no tip because of so rude but I still tipped. Friend did not. We started going to this restaurant just over a year ago and loved it. However, tonight was not good. We waited almost 15 minutes to be waited on, even to get a drink. Food came in a reasonable time but my wife's fish tacos came without the chipotle sauce. And the waitress forgot my drink refill. After 10 minutes she finally went and asked for help. The waitress finally stopped by with both the sauce and drink but didn't even say she was sorry. To get the check we had to go request it again! Service was horrible. BTW, during all this the manager was just standing nearby and talking to members of the wait staff, just part of the problem. Such a shame, this was a favorable standby but I doubt we'll return after tonight. read more

I went out with friends to get food and margs and we were charged for 2 extra ones. My friend went up to the server just to let him know. The server then proceeded to call him a liar in front of customers so my friend took it to the manager who took care of it. The server then came over to the table and yell at us in front of customers and basically going off on us. We decided to leave as we were leaving my friend said sorry to the manager for what happened the server then ran over and started yelling again and the hostess start to jump in and yelling all in front of customer while the manager stood and said nothing. This place deserve -7 stars. Truly an awful establishment. We placed an order at 6:32 on Saturday night. It said it would be an hour. It was not ready at 7:32, and we waited another hour. When I tried to call, the person who answered the phone hung up on me. When I spoke to the manager, he told me they were they only restaurant in town and their staff could not handle it. Once we finally got our food after TWO hours, it was not even correct. We did not get the guacamole we ordered, I am not sure the to go margarita even had alcohol in it and we got chicken instead of steak. The manager said he would issue a refund which he did not. Had my usual TexMex lunch thing, steak tacos al carbon, here called carne asada tacos, 3 flour tortillas with grilled steak pieces, with a couple sides. Although other places serve this with a mixed platter including lettuce, pico, guacamole, rice and beans and maybe sour cream, here it is just with a salsa that looked hot (I passed) and only pico de gallo (anybody know why this is named 'rooster's beak'?), spanish rice, and refried beans. I missed the other usual accompaniments, so that's the only deduction, Normally I'm not a huge fan of refritos, but this and the pico were exceptional. This place is worth a try, if for no other reason than there are so few good places to eat in Thurmont. I'll go back for dinner and margaritas sometime. Oh, I was surprised the servers don't wear masks with the current Delta surge, but there aren't many places here that take it seriously. read more
