This looks to be one of the most poorly managed businesses I've seen. Cool technology, and the employees, if you can force them to make eye contact with you, are nice enough. But operationally, it's a complete sh!tshow. Waited 90 minutes past our reservation, with almost no feedback from the employees. Eventually, parties showing up for their reservations 45 minutes later than ours were escorted into the next rooms available. No rhyme or reason. Basically, one employee had them on his list and no one was handling a master schedule to ensure people were served in order. Asked for an explanation, one employee said "I don't like that either", as if it is policy. When we left and asked for a refund, there was still another party in front of us waiting for their turn. It was 2 hours past their reservation time. No tech expertise to keep the rooms available, no greeting in reception, no management on site to handle the snowballing delays. The staffing seems to be "the least we can get by with if nothing goes wrong," but it's reputation is for things constantly going wrong. Our first visit went better. This visit was proof that the bad reviews are accurate. Franchising a business that is 10% technology and 90% customer service leaves room for some horrific damage to the brand. This Indianapolis location needs experienced operational management and proper training and processes for such predictable and common events. The experience isn't so different from an Oculus at home that it's worth waiting two hours after your reservation. If your time is ample and meaningless, and you like awkward neglect when you enter a place of business, SandboxVR is for you. read more
