Maybe it was an off evening for our waiter, the kitchen and all involved in making this a pleasant evening... but the buttermilk chicken dish was just decent and our waiter was unpleasant to borderline rude. When chicken, potatoes, asparagus and an ice tea cost over $30.00 you had better bring me more bread and be more than okay with separate checks. My friends that accompanied me did enjoy their meals quite a bit and stated that the burger was delicious. It did look quite good, but this review is about the chicken and my food. read more

Delicious! This is a favorite spot for our family that lives in Seattle. They took us on our last night in the city. Cozy atmosphere, very friendly service. I'm sure we'll be back when we return to Seattle. read more

Had the burger and fries. It was pretty good! Loved the brioche bun especially. The service was decent, very busy establishment and I was still checked on several times by my server as well as the hosts. I was definitely happy with everything I had. My only suggestion, and it's definitely not the biggest of deals, would be to toast the bun. That's perhaps a personal preference, but I think it would have been a good call. It would have sent it over the top for me. But yeah, great place for sure! read more

Yummy. Very solid menu - everything our party ordered was good. It can be noisy...lots of kids (esp. on Sunday's when they eat for free). read more

I had a great beet salad with prawns on top. It was very good. The wine was wonderful too. The ambiance was nice. This felt like the place in the neighborhood everyone would want to go. I look forward to returning soon. read more

Went here tonight and had a great experience from staff and the amazing bartender Erick but I call him Bobby even though that's not his name "inside joke" btw I have been coming here since day one meaning since sandpoint opened a long long time ago and never been disappointed actually when they took the London broil off the menu I was a little upset but now they have a 17oz ribeye thats extremely good not saying that they should bring back the London broil. read more

Sand Point Grill - Great bartender call him Bobby even though his name is Eric he will laugh "inside joke" - New American Near Me - Seattle, Washington

Just completed another AMAZING meal at Sand Point Grill. The food is always hot and portions are huge, there is no way you could go home hungry! Try the potato skins the best in Seattle!! read more

Four of us stopped at the Sand Point Grill for supper last night and we were thrilled. We were on our way to SeaTac from Bellingham and looking for a casual restaurant with good food for dinner - we searched Yelp and came up with the Sand Point. It was perfect! Great service, friendly waiter, really good food - what more could you want? Oh yes, fair prices! My brother and sister-in-law had the Mussels and said they were fantastic, and between the four of us we had the lamb tika, (spelling?) and 2 hamburgs and a fried chicken - and they were all great! While we do not come down to Seattle often, we will definitely come back to the Sand Point Grill when we do! read more

Went on a Tuesday night for dinner and lots of kids running around. The service was okay. The waiter did not seem enthusiastic, and he never brought out the bread for us. Other people around were getting bread. We ordered two entrees. I had the trout, which was pretty small and not that good. My date had the fried chicken, and that was okay. I was still hungry after eating the trout that I mooched off of her fried chicken and mash potatoes. We ordered two drinks, one alcoholic and one non-alcoholic. Both were heavily watered down. We followed up with the dessert. I had a maple pie or tart of some sorts, and it was okay. My date had some ice cream, and that was okay. Total bill with tax and tip for the two of us was about $70. Save your money because you can find better places to eat for this price. read more

I go at least once a month and enjoy it all. The appetizers can be meals and be sure and look at the specials. Great for Kids and they eat free with a paid adult on Sunday's - Tuesdays 5 - 6:30 pm. read more

We've eaten at the Sand Point Grill several times during the past few years. The menu could best be described as upper end bar food, which is fine. The problem begins when the service is poor to hurried. You have to ask for bread, it's not offered. My wife had fish Tacos, the fish was tasteless, the Pico de gallo was loaded with raw stinky onion. No other seasoning. I had better milk fried chicken. Green beans that were over cooked and greasy. The fast food chicken joints do better. Our waiter and separate server never bothered to ask how our meal was. They did do a good job of keeping my club soda glass full. The prices were reasonable, but what good is that if the food and service are poor. Counting the four visits over the past few years, twice the food was good, last time it was just OK and this time...well you read my review. I think this will be our last. read more

comfy, no nonsense, friendly, consistent neighborhood spot

This is one of the best neighborhood restaurants around. I have never had a bad experience in five visits, the staff is warm and always welcoming, and it has a great "all american" feel to it. The food is delicious, yet simple. They also have great wines by the glass. You can have a very nice meal with a glass of wine for about $20/person if you don't pick anything too fancy. In summary: great, honest value. read more

Their meatloaf is amazing, and you really get enough for 2 people. Comes with mashed potatoes and veggies, and was absolutely tender, and tasted delicious. My wife and I shared a takeout order, and we both ordered adult to-go beverages which were amazing! Can't wait to go back when the Quarantine is lifted, nice family atmosphere, and great neighborhood bar! Highly recommend read more

Delicious food. Welcome atmosphere. Friendly staff. Even though they're remodeling, the dining experience was pleasant. After talking with some of the staff, by the sounds of it, the place will look great. We will definitely be back. read more

What can I say, except that I can't picture going back there anytime soon. My husband was one of their first customers and we went through all the changes of ownership until this last one (Christina and her husband are sorely lamented). Everything has gone downhill, except for a few old time wait staff. The last dish we actually liked was the fettuccini --it had been lamb, then "beef and lamb" but I swear this time it seemed to be soggy chicken in a thin whitish sauce, with little visible tomato and with hot pepper improbably added (I like hot, but not in a north Italian ragu). Incredibly, the fettuccini was chopped into one inch pieces, as though for a baby or toddler Then there was the depleted butterleaf salad -- there is clearly no olive oil on this salad, and who wants a salad with canola oil? Christina's dressing on that salad was great. It's the end of an era for us. read more

This is a great neighborhood gathering and family restaurant. The food is amazing but service is average at best especially when they get busy. My wife and I love their happy hour and took our girls there to celebrate special events. One thing to be aware is since it is a family friendly restaurant, there are a lot of kids eating there so the place can get pretty noisy. In addition, the place is pretty small and sitting is tight. If you are looking for a romantic dinning experience, this is definitely not the place. read more

Great food, and awesome atmosphere! Service was excellent, and the locals say it is the place to go for a nice evening out.

I was a little scared with the 5 kids we had in tow with our group but the wait staff handled everything great. The food was quick and excellent with generous portions and all very filling. Again the staff was excellent and attentive. Food was reasonably priced. Establishment was very clean. Next trip to Seattle I will be returning here. read more

A wonderful neighborhood gathering! Great food, service and very gracious staff. Thank you all for making this Neighborhood special!!

I had read all the good reviews and was looking forward to this, but found it just average at best. The fish in my dish was really overdone and the whole dish was tasteless. The reviews suggest that you may have good luck and have a great meal, but I am not willing to take that chance again. read more

The fried chicken is amazing! I'll definitely fly back from L.A. for this! The service is also amazing

I'm biased towards restaurants in my neighborhood, but this one is pretty good. Would be five stars, but the decor is pretty basic. Feels a little like a remodeled nail salon, but the local art on the wall helps a little. The fried chicken is very good, and they have a nice eclectic menu. It looked pretty kid friendly, but it is tricky to spend that kind of money on a kid. The service was good, although much of the help looked pretty inexperienced. I'm looking forward to walking down to Sand Point Grill again to check out other delicious entrees. read more

This is a happy hour review, and we were impressed. The whole place was packed on a weeknight and there seemed to be many regulars, but we were welcomed and treated right. The owner was working the floor, always good to see. Happy hour menu goes above and beyond, even if the standards are a little odd. We had tender octopus with a lovely sauce, followed by a strange-tasting Caesar and a knockout Reuben with wimpy fries from fancy potatoes. Like I said, odd. We ended up here by accident but plan to make it back. read more

Everything was fabulous from the ambience and staff to the delicious food. We took two friends who were visiting from out of town and rather than take them somewhere familiar I decided to roll the dice and try someplace new. When I read that they focus on using quality organic ingredients and buy local and regional farmers I was sold. I've been very conscious of my diet recently learning what a huge difference it makes relative to the food you eat. Everything they prepared for us was delectable. We cleared our plates and I was a little sad that none of us had room for dessert. We will certainly be back for more and I will certainly recommend this restaurant to friends. read more

This is a great place for a nicer dinner (anniversary, etc). Most entrees run from $16-21, but they are definitely worth it -- the food here is so good! I had a spinach salad with goat cheese, pork chop entree, and pear shortcake for dessert. Everything was amazing and the portions were a reasonable size. The service was good too -- attentive but not overly hovering. There's also a bar, though I didn't drink anything on this occasion. Definitely plan on returning for future occasions. read more

A very small, comfortable, casual, and low-key Sand Point neighborhood restaurant. Approximately half of this open space design is taken up by a friendly bar. You may want to head downtown if you are looking for something a little more contemporary, hip, classy, or that has some character. The décor does not entice you in for drinks or dining. The lighting was a bit on the bright-cafeteria side, yet not in an industrial way. There was some interesting art on the walls but not a lot else... No table linens and all-in-all a somewhat sterile atmosphere. -Perhaps more lunch appeal, but don't think they serve lunch. I was with a group of 8 on a busy Friday night, yet we still had good service. A word of caution, the locals do bring their children; so if you are intolerant of children running around, you might want to choose a different restaurant. THE FOOD & BEVERAGE: Bartender Scott makes a nice Spanish Coffee.-Yum! The rest of the group had wine or scotch. Our party also brought some nice wine and just paid the corkage fee on that. The food was basically very good. The delicious snack plate appetizers offered fried goat cheese, Marcona almonds, olives and some fresh poached Tiger Prawns with avocado, tomato oil, and tarragon aioli. Our group liked their salmon, trout and pasta dishes. - Nothing out of this world, though. I personally enjoyed a hearty cup of the black bean soup with Crème Fraiche, a light Caesar salad and the Penn Cove mussels. The mussel broth was delicious! I was a bit disappointed that the order did not come with bread or crostini for dipping in the lovely juices. -Thankfully the table had ordered a side of bread! I was warned, when ordering the mussels, that they may be rather small. They were, in fact about the size of a pearl in an oyster shell. Were the small somewhat shriveled mussels perhaps overcooked?-Hmmm. Regardless, I had no trouble eating them all. OVERALL: Good experience. Had a fun evening with friends. I probably will only return if we happen to be in the neighborhood and they start lunch service... -Will not seek it out for dinner/drinks again. read more

Love this place. I've only had one negative experience out of many, many great meals and gatherings with friends. It feels comfy and cozy, people from the area eat here, the food is very good, and the bartenders are knowledgeable, helpful, and fun. I miss the skinny fries they used to serve, but the fat fingers are tasty, too. Terrific martinis! Looking forward to my next visit this weekend! read more

We are long time customers... The new owner has done a great job updating the decor, the place was pretty tired. Unfortunately, the food itself, is going downhill... It used to be consistently good, now it's consistently not so good, and sometimes even downright awful. Unfortunate, because we really love the place and the staff. read more

We typically come here a couple times a year. Food is good. Not spectacular but it always does well. Still need to come back and try out their Fried Buttermilk Chicken which my friends rave about. Nice environment to sit back heavy a drink and get a decent dinner. This place was packed with happy hour participants when we came here. read more

Very let down. Ruben sandwich was so soggy and greasy on the bottom, I couldn't pick it up. Fries were soggy and limp as if they'd been left over from the day before. Fried chicken was dry and tasteless. Cannot recommend. read more

Great menu makeover by new owners. Pork Shoulder was hearty and satisfying, not the kind of dish I take the time to make. Finished with the cookie plate & the most amazing basil truffles. Highly recommended. read more

We went here for dinner on Friday the 17th. The wait staff was awesome and were nothing but pleasant and friendly with us. Our daughter was a bit fussy and they got her food out as quick as they could. This a very family friendly place. I had the Buttermilk Fried Chicken and it was Amazing! Very tender and juicy. My wife had the burger with bacon and said it was also very good. It was a huge burger! Come with an empty stomach and you will leave with a very full one. read more

My husband and I absolutely love this place. The have the best happy hour in the area. The food is always amazing no matter what we order from the menu and they have the best Reuben I've ever had. They team up with university wines and offer fantastic wines that pair well with their food. The desserts are always a treat as well. Most importantly they have Jenn. She is amazing and the absolute best with customer service. I've never had anyone take care of us as well as she has, anywhere. She's always happy, friendly, and extremely aware of anything her tables need. There's no where in town we would rather spend a Seattle week or weekend night than this wonderful neighborhood gem. read more

We are crushed to say that after our most recent meal, we won't be going back to the Sand Point Grill anymore. We have been customers for years but since the place sold last year, the food quality has been on a steady downward trend. Our meal there yesterday was a disappointment and so was the service. The soup was mediocre, the burger ordered well done was under cooked and the Ruben sandwich was burnt and half the size it was just a few months ago. In addition, their formerly great specials have been reduced to second rate fish. Worse of all, our beer was kinda flat. Again, this is a huge disappointment because the "SPG" was our go to dinner out. read more

We had events in the area all week that lasted until 9pm, and realized there were very few places open for dinner that late. The website information said this restaurant was open until 10pm, and we arrived at around 9:35pm, so we asked understandingly if they would be willing to serve us. The server said he had to check with the kitchen, but came back saying we just needed to order within 10 mins. We ordered immediately and thanked him. The food was delicious, but we received several more snide comments from the server about how late we'd arrived and how he had to stay working off the clock to serve us. We rushed to finish and left as soon as we could (about 10:05pm), feeling quite uncomfortable. There was still another group of customers who'd been there before us and hadn't left yet. As we walked out the door, one of the customers called to us, "You were a little late, ladies!" To which I replied that it would never be a problem again, since we wouldn't be returning. We were lucky enough to have excellent service at several other locations at the same time of night the rest of the week. read more

The food was good, service was reasonable and they allowed for a substition on their menu. Bar service was very quick and accurate, they seem to know their booze. It would be 5 stars if their was a little more fresh and seasonal selection offered. We won't seek it out but if we happen to be in the neighborhood we will go again. The chocolate coconut bavarian dessert was the highlight of the meal and it was big enough for 3 adults to share. read more

We ate here a lot when our kids were young because they have a great children's menu along with adult food and drink. We just recently started going back again and I'd say it's better than ever. The short ribs are phenomenal, and also the Reuben. And the bar is as excellent as well. Definitely one of the best restaurants in the neighborhood. read more

Good, comfortable neighborhood restaurant. Service is quite good as are most of dishes. I love the fried chicken and malted milk ice cream. Specials are more hit and miss than are regular entrees. read more

Still loving this place. Such a great neighborhood spot. We end up there at least a few times a month. The food is consistently good and the staff are all very nice. My favorites are the burger (hard to beat for $11) and the short ribs on polenta. Their butter leaf salad is the best! It's a great place to bring kids too. And don't forget Sunday, Monday and Tuesday Kids eat FREE before 6:30. read more
