They have a cute banana scavenger hunt challenge to earn 10 minutes of axe throwing. I also noticed they take donations for their smash room, which I think is neat. We visited the location on a Monday! They have $75/per person offer on Mondays to enjoy 2 activities. We chose the smash room and axe throwing, but they also have a paint room option. I have gone axe throwing before, but I like the axe throwing better at this location because they offer a variety of games to play with your group. We played and enjoyed the zombie game the most. The only reason I gave the experience 4 stars and not 5 stars is because I wish we could have thrown items against the walls in the smash room, but we were confined to the table in the center. They won't allow you to bring your phone or anything else in your pockets onto the ride. Staff actually check before you board, and if you have anything on you, they'll send you back to put it away. Luckily, there are lockers nearby for around $1, so storing your belongings is quick, easy, and inexpensive. We visited on a Friday night and purposely waited until it was dark so we could enjoy the views of the Las Vegas Strip while riding. We had purchased our tickets online ahead of time, which I highly recommend because it allowed us to skip the ticket line. Once inside New York-New York, the coaster was easy to find, and we only waited about 30 minutes to ride. As a plus-size woman, I was happy to find that I fit comfortably on the ride, which is always something I appreciate knowing before visiting an amusement attraction. It was over 100°F outside the night we rode, so flying through the loops, twists, and huge drops while getting blasted with warm desert air made for a pretty wild experience! I'll admit, I was a little terrified--the drops are much bigger than I expected, and I rode a good portion of it with my eyes closed. The ride itself is fairly short, but it's packed with excitement from start to finish. My teenager absolutely loved it, and even though it scared me a bit, I'm really glad we did it. If you're visiting Las Vegas with kids or teens, I'd definitely recommend adding the Big Apple Coaster to your itinerary.

I felt like I was traveling at light speed in a shoe box while pummeled with hockey sticks. What can you get for $25 in Las Vegas these days...? ...a hearty, calorie-dense breakfast sandwich (like a sausage, egg, and cheese biscuit) at Eggslut in the Cosmopolitan... a classic Las Vegas souvenir t-shirt, a deck of commemorative casino playing cards... two pints of Guinness at Nine Fine Irishmen (New York New York) ... a $25 "gourmet" cheeseburger at various resorts and restaurants... ...OR a ride on The Roller Coaster at New York-New York, first launched in 1997 as The Manhattan Express, then named The Big Apple Coaster, and still sort of popular... mostly with Vegas virgins. There was confusion about storing our valuables... lockers, secret codes... You buy a ticket, get in line and then are told you should probably store your valuables in a locker, which you have to find and master the process for renting , opening and storing. [Tuesday midday] Short line was nice... we were with a couple of nervous teenagers there for the first time - their mom and aunt watching and waiting... Once on board, make sure to lock the seat bar down as far as you can onto you legs (more about that in a moment). Our midday experience thrust us into the blinding July summer sun blazing down upon us as we climbed to the top of the first summit - we tried to shield our eyes but it did nothing for the mounting heat that had me sweating by the top of ... THE FIRST DROP... (let your breath out slowing as you go...), then another and then you're thrown into a FULL LOOP where the centrifugal force shoves you into a pile of goo in your seat, followed by a little CORKSCREW-BARREL-ROLL maneuver and by the time you've caught your breath you hit a series of little up and down gut-sloshing, ass-smashing moves. Next thing you know, you're hurled left, then right - or maybe right then left - and up a little hill then into a CYCLONIC FUNNEL in a downward decent where you think you're done but then you hit a couple of parking lot speed bumps at maximum speed (more ass-banging) before you enter a dark tunnel where you think, "Oh God, what's next," but you get a quick glimpse into the casino right before the ride ends. Definitely a value (albeit it a different one) to the $25 cheeseburger, and more memorable than a t-shirt, just don't eat the burger before you board.

There is a "history of the west" preshow video which is ok. But the actual ride really shines. Overall experience is about 25 minutes from pre-show to exit. We did the West video which went through the deserts in the west, up the coast, and also the pacific northwest. Of course there was a flyover of Vegas. The video was very crisp. The ride system was very smooth. My daughter complained it didn't have the neat transitions between scenes like Disney does. This just jumps from clip to clip although they try to keep the perspective the same. Overall I really liked this. A definite must do in my mind!

It was only a twenty minute or so walk from our hotel. Check in was easy. One of the employees was helpful in clearing up some confusions we had about how it all worked. We purchased the two-ride ticket, so we were unsure of how it worked. We opted for the American West and the Chicago ride. Both were amazing, but we liked Chicago the best. They were both about nine minutes or so, not including the pre shows. If you've ever been on the Soarin' attraction at Disney California Adventure, it's basically that, just without Disney's level of production. It was still great quality, though.

How can you go wrong with an electric powered vehicle that was designed for bumping into other cars? Well, head on collisions can really mess up your back, spine, or whatever other skeletal terms you wanna go by. That is why for this track you are only supposed to go in one direction. In this case, counter clockwise. Still you will have those people that either dont know how to drive or just wanna be idiots and bump into everybody or both. You must be 54 inches tall to drive, at least 42 to ride. Before you are even let on to the track, you have those measuring sticks there at the entrance. Make sure to buckle up or the attendant walking around will not let the fun begin. Each car can fit two people if one is not tall enough to drive. There is only the one gas pedal on the left. To slow down or stop, simply just take your foot off the pedal. Or you can just bump into somebody if you wanna stop right away. To back up towards whatever direction you wanna go just turn the steering wheel to all the way to the extreme right or left. In the end, even after all this info, some people just dont know how to drive. Dont let any of these people drive you to the hospital. If im not mistaken I think the overall time given to drive around is 5 minutes. Yelp 2014 365 Review Challenge #172 "Road rage starts here"

One of the more interesting features was a ship-like viewing area that allowed children to see animals swimming both underneath and above them through the glass. This gave younger visitors another way to observe the animals closely. Stingray Touch Pool The stingray touch pool was much less accessible for small children. The stingrays usually stayed near the bottom of the pool, making them difficult for younger children to reach. Children were not permitted to sit or lie on the stone surrounding the pool for safety reasons, but there was no alternative provided, such as a secured step platform or designated raised viewing area. This meant that parents often had to lift and hold their children over the edge so they could see or attempt to touch the stingrays. That could create its own safety concern for both the parent and child. A staff member suggested that a child could lie on their stomach to reach farther into the pool. However, this may not work well for children who have sensory sensitivities, physical limitations, discomfort with pressure on their stomach, or developmental delays. The exhibit would be more inclusive if it offered a safe alternative for shorter children, such as: * A secured, nonslip step platform * A lower section of the pool designed for children * A raised glass viewing window * A staff-supported touch opportunity * Clear accessibility options for children with sensory or physical needs The touch pool was an exciting concept, but the current design made it difficult for many younger children to participate independently and safely.
