If you're looking for a unique, exhilarating experience- this is it! It's like you're a stunt person in a James Bond or Mission Impossible movie! I have parachuted, and feel the two experiences do not compare. When you willingly step off a platform from the top of a 108 story building WITHOUT a parachute, it's pretty darn scary. When you jump at 10,000 feet from an airplane, everything is so far away, you almost don't feel connected to the height. I highly recommend the Stratosphere jump. I booked this on the spot and my jump was literally right at sunset. I was nervous but not frightened getting ready. You won't face your inner fears until you step out onto that platform. Let's go!!! - Booked online ahead of my trip to LV - Did this mid-day, and didn't seem super-busy - The most important people in the building are the staff, and yes- felt safe and secure getting suited up + the multiple checkpoints to make sure everything is all set Ok so details/details: - You go to an area located in what appears to be a highly vacated retail area of the Strat (it is depressing to see actually) - Once you get strapped in, you walk to the elevator that takes you to the top (108 floor) - And yes, once you get to the top, reality sits in! - There was no wait for us, and I was up first! - You head into a glass enclosed area (of which you can see the massive cable that controls your jump) - I anticipated the outdoor ledge to be bigger than what it was, and walking outside (to it) was terrifying - Basically what this comes down to is mind over matter....as this is SUCH an UNNATURAL thing to do! - My sense is that the longer you delay your jump, the harder it is! - So yeah, the countdown was quick (3-2-1) and yes, I just jumped off the platform! Bottom line: - This isn't for everyone - It is terrifying to stand on a ledge 108 floors above the ground - They couldn't have picked a better spot, as this is lined up directly looking at the strip - Once you jump, you are good to go (as it is a controlled jump), and fun! WHAT AN AMAZING EXPERIENCE!!!!!! I couldn't stop smiling!!! The staff was really nice and helpful in explaining everything. Granted, I couldn't stand still and was ready to jump the second I reached the top. They were very good about ensuring you were safe, but you also felt safe. Each step of the way, they double-checked your harness and ropes, etc. They signed off on each step, and communication was amazing. There were a couple of nervous people,reat about answering all of their questions but they were great at making sure everyone was safe and happy. I ended up paying extra for the GoPro and made sure and did my research on how to get the best quality video. I asked them for their advice, and they told me to try and keep it upright, and they told me not to look down...but I did anyway and it didn't scare me. I wanted to turn right back and jump again if I could. If you are looking for something fun to do in Vegas, you HAVE to try this. Totally worth every penny. I would suggest you get the GoPro and make sure you bend your hand so it's facing you. Also, you can move the GoPro outward so you get a video of Vegas, but don't forget to point it towards you so you get your face and reaction. This was an awesome experience! Yes, it's expensive but me it was totally worth it. How often do you get to say you jumped 855 feet off of a building? I thought they did a great job with everything from check in, suiting up and then the final hook up. You feel totally safe and they triple check everything before the actual jump. To make this experience even better my wife, who is extremely afraid of heights, did the jump as well. I can't believe she did it and hats off to the guy working there that helped calm her down enough at the jump ramp to go thru with it. I totally recommend paying the extra money to do the video recording, I can't imagine doing it without this. You'll want the video proof later- trust me. BEST THRILL IN VEGAS! I was looking for a thrilling activity in Vegas this trip and I finally sucked it up and jumped off the Strat. It. was. exhilarating!!! The hardest part is stepping off the edge. After that it is just pure rush and joy! The employees were all so great and professional. They were optimistic and patient as well as informative and encouraging. They do an assuring job at making sure you're are safe and strapped securely. At least 4 different employees check and/tightened my harness from the minute I stepped into it to the second I jumped. They talk you through everything as they are doing it, making sure you are safe. PS You don't fall as fast as you think you will. There is no free fall. WOW!! First and foremost, I'd like to thank ALL the men and women who assisted in this jump. Their professionalism and SERIOUS attention to detail certainly DID NOT go unnoticed. When you do something like this (controlled or NOT) mistakes can happen. Despite my adrenaline rushes, I definitely took special notice on how well trained each & every technician was. They check n recheck, EVERYTHING. And if someone if FREAKING out, they simply ask, "Okay, do you want to stop now?" I think it takes a special type of personality to do this job. Sure, it can be rewarding. But I couldn't help but notice a lot of ungrateful attitudes flying around. The jump itself is 1,000 feet up. You fall at approximately 45 mph, you wear a harness that's connected to 3 ropes and they come together like a pyramid and at that point a thick industrial cable is clipped into place. (If you look it up on YouTube, you'll see the cable). The cable is very impressive and just looking at it you know it's well maintained and cared for. My sense of time was warped, due to the adrenaline but this is NOT a THRILL SEEKING adventure. It's the view, and the lack of obstacles that really steals your breath away. Just did the jump today and I can honestly say that it really wasn't that great. Not bad but not worth the $150+ price I paid with the video package. I didn't really feel that oh shit feeling. Like what the other guy said in his review "it's just an expensive zipline." I think you're paying more for the extensive safety protocols. They checked my gear and lines multiple times to make sure it's all secure which eased my nervousness. The staff were a hit or miss. The front reception crew seemed like they didn't really want to be there and weren't really engaging or there is a lack of enthusiasm for the job. The supervisor that took us up top was more personable and the duo all the way to the top were more serious about their job to make sure you live after this jump. It's great for people who has never jumped off anything before. Definitely passable and not worth the price. I had a more scarier ride at Circus Circus with the El Loco and Canyon Blaster at $12 each. read more

The SkyJump is currently the world's highest commercial decelerator descent (according to the Guinness Book of World Records) & is done from the Stratosphere Tower in Las Vegas. The Tower stands 1,149 ft tall but the SkyJump is done from a ledge 855 ft above the ground. It first opened in 1996 but the SkyJump attraction began in 2010. Prices vary according to what you may want in addition to your jump. The jump by itself costs $119.99. If you want to do the jump & have your photo taken it's $130.82 but the photo is only of you & the person who attaches your harness standing on the platform right before you jump (not photos of you actually jumping). The best package to get is the one with the Go-Pro wristcam. It costs $152.47 but includes the jump, the photo & video of the jump. I only paid $119 for the jump/photo/wristcam video package through a discount I found on Groupon. What's the difference between a commercial decelerator descent & a bungee jump? A bungee jump is where you jump while attached to an elastic cord that stops you just short of hitting the ground before it recoils. Bungee jumps involves free falling where your speed isn't hindered. But with a decelerator descent the speed in which you fall is controlled. With the Sky Jump, the cables your harness is attached to slows your fall to 45 mph until you're near the ground. I arrived in Vegas on 8/29/18. Later on, I left my hotel and caught a Lyft to the Stratosphere Hotel & Casino. When I got there, I walked through the casino to the elevator I rode to Floor R (which is actually just the 2nd floor). After getting off the elevator, I walked past several restaurants & stores until I got to the SkyJump office. Inside are t-shirts for sale, a seating area and a tv showing previously recorded SkyJumps. There is also a chicken mask on the wall (to remind you of what you are if you get too scared to jump). Everyone working there was young but they know what they're doing. They kind of get off on making little remarks to try to get you scared before your jump. For instance, after I put on my blue & yellow jumpsuit, a girl wrote some numbers on my wrist and said, "These numbers will be used to identify you if something goes wrong." She also asked me, "Do you have any last words" when she turned on the camera to interview me before taking me to the elevator that goes up the tower. They seemed a little disappointed when I told them I've done two tandem skydives before. Before I put on my jumpsuit I had to empty my pockets, take off my belt, remove my watch & put them in a locker. I also was weighed (jumpers can't weigh more than 265 lbs). After putting on the jumpsuit, I stepped into a harness the same way I'd put on a pair of pants & they tightened it up extra tight. They checked my shoes to make sure they're on tight & put something on the handles of my glasses to keep them from falling off. Then a young woman escorted me to the elevator where we rode up to the 108th floor. As we walked through the indoor observation area, tourists started following us because they wanted to see the jump. One said, "There goes a brave soul right there." I felt like Evel Knievel. The woman introduced me to 2 other friendly people whose job it was to look at the soles of my shoes, inspect my harness, hook it up to the cables & photograph me before I jump. I was outside & just a few steps from the ledge & held onto a railing as they fastened my harness. The Go-Pro camera they'd attached to my right wrist earlier was on. If you hold your arm straight out it focuses on you & if you bend your arm inward it focuses on your surroundings. It was nighttime & I could see the Vegas lights below as I stood on the edge of the ledge waiting for the countdown. Standing on the edge wasn't that scary because it reminded me of standing in the doorway of a plane just before I skydived a few years ago. "3, 2, 1, Go!!!!" & I jumped. After a couple of seconds I could feel the cables slowing my fall to 45mph & the wind's cool breeze was a welcome relief this hot Vegas evening. I alternated moving my right arm inwards and out to catch both myself & the view on video. Just before landing I heard an employee remind me to bend my knees. A crowd that had gathered at the landing spot cheered my arrival. I felt like I'd done something! The employee then unhooked my harness & I went inside, got my belongings from the locker, took off my jumpsuit, & after a short wait picked up the drive with my jump on it. They also gave me a certificate signifying the jump. You can also use the certificate to jump again at half the regular price anytime in the future. I've read reviews from people complaining it doesn't provide the same rush as skydiving or bungee jumping. What does? It's still fun. I only regret that it just lasts a few seconds. How much did I enjoy it? I liked it enough to come back two days later & jump again (this time in the daytime)! read more

" It's a Bird ... It's a Plane ... It's Superwomen " Just kidding. It's just me getting ready to drop 108 floors from the Stratosphere tower. The Sky Jump had been on my Bucketlist ever since I went Sky diving 21,000 ft. last year. Since this jump was only 855ft. and a controlled descent like Bungee jumping, I thought piece of cake, right? NO, I was so wrong. There are 3 different packages to chose from: - $119.00 for the Jump - $129.00 for the Jump and photos - $149.00 for the Jump, photos and wristband. All photos uploaded on a USB. There is a separate admission fee to the tower which is $20.00. The good thing is If your a guest of the hotel, admission fee is waived and they give you a discount for the Jump. I chose the more expensive package. When Im old and grey, I want to be able to look at videos and photos and remember in my youth that I WAS A BADASS. After I paid for my package and signed my deathwish, I got suited up. The suit was a cute blue jumper. My friends were too scared to even go up the Stratosphere, so they stayed downstairs in the " waiting zone " which is also where you land. There were three other people doing the jump so we all walked into the elevator together. At this point I wish I had taken a shot or two. Why had I choosen to eat a buffet instead? The ride up the elevator seemed like an eternity. The doors finally opened at the 108th floor. I followed the employee to the jump area. Before you walk on the ledge, your taken to a room where your straps are attached to your Blue suit. Its all glass so all guest visiting at the Observation deck can see this being done. Guest were taking photos of me probably because only insane people do stuff like sky jump off tall buildings. I finally walked on the ledge and another employee double checked my straps. He had me turn around and take a photo and then explained how my wrist camera worked. Once he said the spill, he told me to jump when I was ready. It was 8pm on Saturday night and here I was standing on a ledge from one of the tallest buiding ever built. I looked down to the Strip and see Trump Towers. From way above Trump Towers looks only a few feet high. When I did my first sky dive, I wasnt too scared but since I had to go off the ledge at my free will, the thought scared me. I put my big girl pants on and ..... Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!! Like the Movie Toy Story said " Its not falling, its flying with Grace " Before I could take it all in, it was over. My name's Yee Gan and despite a fear of heights, I'm an adrenaline junkie. I love roller coasters and have even done a tandem skydive So, when I saw that the Stratosphere Tower in Las Vegas had a new extreme experience - the SkyJump, I couldn't resist. It's not cheap at $109 per jump with filming costing extra They're smart in allowing you to watch from the landing zone on the roof of the main building - you can see the jumpers falling from the 108th floor with their descent being slowed down by 2 zip wires on either side of the jumper. You can also watch their entire descent on a TV monitor inside the shop where you sign in for your jump and buy merchandise. Although I love my thrills, the thought of jumping from the 108th floor was terrifying and it took me quite a while of watching and finally almost forcing myself to sign up. After a safety briefing and ride up the tower, you're ready to enter the jump room with the opening to the outside and a jump into oblivion! A few people have got up here and have then been unable to enter the room. I must say that this was the most scary part of the experience as you look down a very long way at what appear to be toy cars. Then, all too soon, you on the edge of the platform, ready to jump. It definitely takes a lot of bottle to actually step off the platform - that's the hardest bit but the descent was a little disappointing. The wires arrest your descent almost immediately and you don't come anywhere near terminal velocity like on a skydive. The big painted target on the landing area comes up quite quickly though and you're soon on terra firma. It is a unique experience and adrenaline rush to step off the 108th floor of a building but the descent doesn't quite deliver the same rush and it's the same price as a good show in Vegas, so you have to decide whether it's worth it but it's certainly a unique experience read more

I was originally pretty excited to do the SkyJump, but found it a disappointing experience because 1) if you like adrenaline or thrill-seeking, the other rides in the Stratosphere, real bungee jumping (this is a controlled descent), and sky diving are a lot more fun, 2) I purchased a photo and video package and they forgot to record the entire time, 3) when I called to get a refund, I had to be re-routed 3 times in order to speak to an actual representative. WOW. The Skyjump at the Stratosphere is something I've wanted to do for years but the timing has just never been right. So, on my last trip, I made it a priority. I called ahead to make my appointment, to ensure that I'd actually go through with it this time. I made my appointment for 9:30 PM, so I would have an amazing view while plummeting rapidly to the earth. I got to the stratosphere around 9, and had plenty of time to get checked in and put on my jumpsuit. I was BEYOND nervous. I was joking around and laughing until I got to the top of the elevator, and then a pinch of anxiety set in. While my safety straps were being triple checked I was on the verge of tears. Although, the staff was very lighthearted and told me that I'd be fine. They were TOTALLY patient with me and really helped my nerves. I ended up finally mustering up the strength to jump, and just went for it! And WOW am I glad that I did! The experience was unlike anything else I've ever done! That feeling of total weightlessness and just falling was SO COOL. Plus, the view alone made it all worth it. I could see hundreds, if not thousands, of miles of lights and scenery. It was beautiful to put it lightly. The brakes kick in RIGHT at the end, which is a bit scary. But I had a completely effortless and safe landing. :) I'll definitely be doing the Skyjump again in the future, so the next go around I can focus more on the view than on my nerves! When a couple of friends from work told me they were going to jump off the Stratosphere, I was all over joining in! I called to make a reservation weeks ahead and paid the $99.99 necessary to keep your spot. They told me I could get a package including a dvd and photo for only $30 extra. I didn't want to pay for it ahead of time but they said it was fine to decide when I got there. In the weeks before our jump, I watched a couple of YouTube videos of people's jumps, shot by friends watching from the ground, and thought eh - it looks like such a slow fall...and seriously considered canceling. It just didn't look scary enough! Joining in with my friends won out though, and when we arrived a half hour before our appointment times, I was glad I hadn't canceled. But I still wasn't super excited about the jump itself. They checked us in and told us we could watch our dvds and see our pictures after our jump and decide whether we wanted to buy them then. Which we thought was super cool! They had us put our stuff in a locker then suited and harnessed us up and took us up the elevator to the top of the tower. When we got off the elevator, this huge view of Vegas from panoramic-view windows 855 feet off the ground (108 floors up), started to get me excited...because it finally DID feel scary! We waited our turns from right inside a door that was next to the jumping platform. Watching from that close looked even SCARIER - and now my legs felt a little wobbly and I got giddy! I went first - they checked my harness, took a couple of pics, pointed out the camera, and had me stand at the edge for a count of 3. And then I jumped!!!!! It was faster falling than I thought, windy, my hair was blowing all over the place, and the whole city leaped up at me!! Aaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!! I landed softly on my feet about 10-15 seconds later, and got out of my suit and harness fast enough to be ready to take pics of my friends coming down. Woooohoooo!!! The rush lasted a while for me, and I talked and joked with the people watching around the landing platform. It was a super fun place to be - and there were even lounge chaises for people to lie on and watch the jumpers. Yaaaaay!!!! Fuuuuuuun!!!!!! We were checking out and watching our videos when we had a little damper on the funzies. They told us that the dvd would be $27.03 and the pics would be $21.61. What happened to the package deal? - we asked. They said "oh, you can't upgrade *after* you jump". We had never been told that, so there was some grumbling about it. Even though we were about to pay the higher fee, Kim was nice enough to let us upgrade to the $30 dvd+photo package. And then she even corrected the spelling of my friend's name on her jump certificate without her asking - which we thought was super nice. This is likely not something I need to do again, but I would recommend it to anyone who hasn't done it before. Just make sure you get the dvd+photo upgrade - you WILL want them! read more

I have a crazy best friend. We did sky dive in Monterey for her birthday back in 2009, and this year for her birthday she mentioned something called the Stratosphere. She's the kind of friend who likes to do random things, see this, go there, and makes all these plans. Thinking Stratosphere was some kind of ride or possibly some acrobatic event, like a good friend, I said, "Sure, why not?" See what happens when you don't have all the facts? Two months later, I find out it is not the kind of ride I was thinking. $99.99 and another $15 for a dvd (very grainy) and photograph of you with and the "instructor" prior to the jump. Gotta document this event, so why not? Don't wear any loose clothing, shoes that won't fly out, or dangly jewelry. They will provide a locked to you at no extra cost. Not really too keen on the employees downstairs. We came at around 11pm for our scheduled 12am jump. We had pushed our time an hour later, and I guess they don't update their records, and didn't even know this. The thin brunette girl behind the register did not seem like she wanted to be there at all because I would either see her grudgingly do something or stare into space. Luckily the blonde Caucasian girl who was suiting me up was super friendly and KNEW (or at least seemed to) what she was doing. I was observing the two other male employees with Dragon Ball Z or "guido" hair, and they were slightly better than the other girl staring into space, but just doing the bare minimum. Seems like everyone hates their jobs here. This lack of enthusiasm or even good customer service, worried us. After we were suited up, we were brought upstairs, by another employee with more exuberance (thank goodness). They offer a package with a shot before the jump, which you take at the bar facing the pit. By the way, not only do you have an audience of people downstairs, you have some at the bar as well. We felt much better seeing how the instructors upstairs work. You can tell that they take a lot of precautions (two employees mimimum in the pit, and the doors are immediately shut once you enter, as well as you both are always anchored to something) They don't explain much outside of that so there isn't any "training" or video you have to watch prior. All you have to do is not chicken out. I wanted to so bad, but my friends wrath is worse than dying. The Hawaiian guy (and his Hawaiian music) did much to reassure me that it would be okay. Make a request to face inwards (rather than the regular outwards), and it will make it a little less scary. Don't worry, you'll still get turned around facing the view as you go down. Everything happens really fast, and before you know it, you'll want to go again. So worth it read more

Very fun experience. One of a kind in terms of thrills. You simply sign up pay then get a jump suit on. An employee comes out and escorts you to the top then they put you on a harness, count down, and you jump. The whole experience is no more than 15 minutes but it is a great time.
