5 stars doesn't cut it, these guys are off the scale!!! By far the BEST experience we have ever had, apart from the first time we did this 10 years ago of course The communication and organisation was spot on from the start. Jackie the driver was knowledgeable and friendly, and the transport was clean and comfortable. Josh my pilot, was awesome!! Huntley, aka $ store Tom Cruise was Helens pilot was awesome too!! The pilots are so talented and I am in awe of them being able to do the tricks they do. Incredible work! It was amazing from start to finish and we will definitely be booking again when we return next year. Highly recommend you buy the footage as that has been well worth it for the laughs it has given us. We still watch the videos back and cry with laughter at the g force pulling my face off. Absolutely hilarious!! Thank you so much for an incredible experience once again, we appreciate you and recommend everyone going to Vegas to pay you a visit! I've attached some screenshots, hope they give you a laugh as much as we do.

We arrived and the facility was well equipped, similar to a military squadron. Flight suits and patches were provided and my fiance, of course, picked my name tag per tradition. I met my pilot, Sandman and he provided the safety brief which was very thorough and put me at ease! Soon, we were in the air doing crazy acrobatic maneuvers and got to pull some G's! I felt safe the entire time and know these pilots are highly skilled. I highly recommend this experience!

This adventure was on my bucket list forever, my hubby surprised me with the gift certificate for our 20th anniversary. I always wanted to feel how it is to fly this fast and als could not resist the opportunity to try some maneuvers myself. I did the add on for the Red Rock which was on sale - it was amazing. My pilot did not hold back. I was teribble as pilot but she was able to instruct me well and keep us both safe. It is best adventure I did so far and worth the money!

Super fun flying with Ian, callsign "Tectonic." You will never encounter G loads like this again unless you sign up for another ride. Ian was very friendly and made sure I was doing fine. Two suggestions for new SCA copilots. 1. Be sure to get the headphones with a chin strap. My didn't have a strap and kept falling off every time we went inverted. 2. Even if you're cold, do not close the air vents. I closed the vents and the exhaust fumes were almost overwhelming. Finally, if you're a tall guy like me you will struggle to keep your feet off of the rudder pedals. If you are a pilot, be sure to bring your logbook. Since all the Sky Combat Acers are also flight instructors, you can log the tail wheel and high performance time.

I can't say enough about this business. If you are looking for a once in a lifetime, memorable experience, this is the place to go. This is a bucket list item everyone should do once in their life. Perfect for yourself, or even as a gift for someone you know who is an aviation enthusiast, or adrenaline junkie. Their customer service is top notch with staff who truly care about giving you a memorable experience. Even if you are not flying, their customer experience attentiveness is extraordinary. They have a comfortable waiting area with games and other activities. Their attention to safety is excellent with a thorough flight briefing. Come strapped in ready to fly a half million dollar unlimited aircraft for a true Las Vegas thrill. It's worth every penny you will spend.

Fantastic experience in Las Vegas location. Professional instructors who told us everything we needed to know. Short wait to get started. Awesome photo taken around the plane. Video packages of different levels available-and they are awesome!. My 'wingman'/copilot Caroline is a consummate professional who explained everything to me, told me what we were doing, let me take the controls (not just a quick turn, but several- I was doing the dogfighting and my turn at aerobatics) and helped me to get my first air-to-air 'kill'. These are very cool professional and make sure you have an experience you'll never forget. They even gave me a logbook and Caroline logged in my flight time because I'm thinking about getting a pilot's license. I'm going back next year! And you should check out their videos on Instagram. You'll get the need for speed! My callsign? #Mayhem!

My husband bought the trip for me as a birthday gift and I don't know how he's ever going to top it. They picked us up at our hotel in Vegas and it was about 20 minutes to get out to the small airport. They give you a pre-flight demo and while you're waiting, there is a nicely-appointed waiting area stocked with sodas and snacks. Tex, the owner, was our pilot. He and his staff were really great to work with and the experience was unlike anything else. It's definitely not a cheap experience, but it was totally worth it.

WOW! Hands down the experience with Sky Combat Ace was remarkable! I booked the Afterburner Experience and did the extra Red Rock experience add on. We had their shuttle service pick us up. Clean, comfortable, great ride, good communication on pickup. Our shuttle driver, Cavan, was the first person for us to meet from Sky Combat Ace and he made a great impression. Found out later that Cavan is also the photo editor and I must say a very helpful person. Tex...is was a pleasure to meet you and I thank you for your service. You have a great organization and the experiences you offer are exciting as all hell. McFly...thank you for the safety briefing and the bit of humor you added into it. It is serious stuff to go over, as you never know, but the experience is also to be fun. My pilot, Sara aka "L.A.M.B" (I will just leave that up to the imagination, and not post it here) was PHENOMENAL! It was a pleasure meeting you and literally putting my life in your hands for approx 30 minutes. I think I was upside down more than right side up...LOL! What a blast! I laughed, I hooted, I hollered, and thank goodness I didn't lose my stomach contents. Thank you for making this experience a truly exceptional one. Denise aka "Tumbleweed"

SCA is amazing! From the moment you step in until you leave, everyone is friendly, informative, and all around good vibes. Mia oriented us, she's awesome! I didn't catch the photographers name or the guy that drove us to the plane but they're awesome as well! They're all so personable and make the overall experience comfortable from the beginning. I flew with Axel. He's great, funny and informative. I was nervous about all the "what ifs" and he went over safety with me again, so I felt better. The moment we took off, I wasn't scared anymore. The pilots will talk to you the whole time and share in your excitement. It was an experience that I've wanted to do for years. Tips for first timers like me -drink water before you fly -eat a small snack an hour or two before -caution for motion sickness ppl: best to take non-drowsy Dramamine. I didn't take it, but wish I had. I took it after the fact. -eat after your flight -the the photo package is worth it -wear sunglasses - we wore the jump suits for pictures and then took them off for the flight (it was hot) -enjoy every minute, it goes by fast! Thank you SCA!

SORRY ABOUT THIS POST , i accidentaly put it in this Location BUT my SON FLEW in EL CAJON SAN DIEGO . LOOK on my REVIEW at SKYCOMBAT ACE in EL CAJON , he also has a VIDEO of his FLIGHT on my other REVIEW ( The CORRECT LOCATION ) My son 13-year-old like to do a lot of adventures. So we surprised him with a Blood Pumpin thrill ride " FLY YOUR OWN PLANE " I called him to come home right away and said that he was still GOLFING with his Dad. I just said okay then I will cancel our " THE AFTERBURNER FLIGHT ". The moment he heard it, I heard him yelling, Dad packed it up, mom called. They came home to hug me and says let's go, mom. So we arrive at the place and saw a lot of planes but we were instructed to wait outside for safety reasons because there were a lot of planes coming in and out and only get in when a PILOT comes to pick us up. we CHOSE the FLIGHT called .... "AFTERBURNER FLIGHT " ... it's a flight you can "FLY YOUR PLANE", take control and Maneuver it with the supervision of course of a Highly trained Pilot. When it's my son's turn to fly, we are greeted by a very nice Pilot. The FIRST thing we did was go to the briefing room with our Pilot where we watch the Safety and Rules while Flying. I was too nervous while my son was getting ready and my son was just relaxed and have this big smile like he is so excited about it. We watch them start flying out until they just disappeared from our sight. A couple of hours later they came back and my son start talking about the different kinds of Exhibitions they did. Some examples of what they did were: *The inside loop *The outside loop *The Aileron Roll *The Tailside *Stall Turn * Falling Leaf My son was very Happy about his flight and says: "BEST EXPERIENCE to FLY a PLANE" and did "Stunts" in the air ! We HIGHLY RECOMMEND this company to everyone! Also, do not ever leave this place without Purchasing your FLIGHT PHOTOS and VIDEOS. It's all worth it!

I've had a lot of flying adventures over the years. But this was definitely one of the top ones. From the great shuttle service to the lounge, it was first class all the way. Everyone was very friendly and professional. If you love aviation and flying, this is a must.

    Getting ready to take off

This is an experience of a lifetime. Our 10 year old son has dreams of being a pilot, so we reached out to Sky Combat Ace to see if they could take him on a flight - and OH BOY did they! He was fortunate to fly with "Tex" who had many years of experience as a fighter pilot and his skills and passion for teaching were evident throughout our son's flight. He taught him 4 maneuvers, took him on a "bombing run" and gave him a tour of Lake Tahoe, including some about its history. The grin beaming across our son's face when he landed was all we needed to see to know that he is officially hooked! Thank you Tex, Mia, and the Sky Combat Ace team!

The attention to safety and detail made it all worth it and how kind the staff was! I had an amazing memorable experience I can't wait to do this again but doors off this time!

Unaware of any price changes we said doors off. When we got to the airport we where asked to fill out a online form which we did. There is a roomy indoor waiting area with a variety of seating, including stools with power outlets. The restroom was pretty large and clean, better than the one at the JSX (the semi-private airline) terminal. There is also seating in an outdoor patio with views of the helicopter launch area. Since I booked the earliest of these short tours, the terminal was quiet and check-in was seamless and kind. Every passenger is weighed at check-in to balance the weight on the helicopter. You have the option of requesting a front row seat ($30); you are charged if and when you are upgraded. I unfortunately did not make the cut, but I ended up being very satisfied with my rear window seat behind the pilot. Our copter had 2 seats in front, 4 in the rear. Some of the other copters have 3 front/4 rear seats: I think these are the ones that go to the Grand Canyon. We watched a safety video in the terminal, then boarded a shuttle for the brief ride to the helicopter. A photographer and the pilot accompanied us. Your photo is taken outside the copter before boarding. The seats have noise-cancelling headphones you can wear; they have music playing. The ride was smooth and quick. You basically go north on the east side of the Strip, make a U-turn just north of Downtown, then head south on the west side of the Strip. You can see every hotel on the Strip and Downtown, plus The Sphere, the High Roller Ferris wheel, T-Mobile Arena and Allegiant Stadium. Back at the terminal, your photo and a flight certificate are available for purchase. I did give the pilot a gratuity, others on my flight (all were non-American) did not. The company offers a myriad of tours--Grand Canyon, Hoover Dam and more. Some of the Strip tours have added perks like a meal or foodie tour; the basic tour I took can include transportation to and from your hotel if you choose. Recommended.

Unfortunately, our experience aligns with several others. Often times, only people frustrated with…read moresomething will bother to write a negative review, but those with a positive (or expected) experience will not write a review. So it always tends to be skewed and you have to take reviews with a grain of salt, so I was hopeful that would be the case for us and we wouldn't experience the problems that others have. Just as several others have mentioned here, our flight was cancelled the day of, after we arrived. We booked SEVEN months in advance, paid in full ~ $1200 for family of four. We arrive 30 minutes prior as instructed. They tell us, sorry, we have mechanical issues, so you are cancelled. They say, we tried to call you (we received no call because, guess what, cell service is not the best around the south rim of the grand canyon...). We said, we have seen at least 4 helicopters flying, how about canceling someone else, how do you select? Did everybody else here book 7+ months ago? Who is prioritized? The reality is they overbooked, and because we paid 7 months previous, we paid less (I looked, their prices went up since we had booked). So I guess we were the easy choice to cancel... They offered to rebook the next day, yet they know that nearly nobody can accomodate this, so it is a hollow offer where they know they can "do their part to try to rectify", but also know that nearly everybody would then just cancel, and the problem takes care of itself. Great business model... Everybody that is going to book a helicopter trip over the grand canyon is there on vacation, and nobody is staying anywhere near grand canyon village or the location of this airport. It is an hour drive just from Williams and the main road, one way. Anyone who books this is driving in from Sedona or Vegas or Phoenix for a half/one day trip, and vacation days/time is precious. Its not as though you can just go do something else nearby and wait until the next day... We had one window of time planned, and the time of this flight was it. I suppose that is why they do not really care about customer service, or screwing someone last minute. Its not like they are planning for repeat customers really... Kids were beyond disappointed. The build-up and excitement, only to be completely let down last minute. They cried as we were walking out and leaving because the talk of the helicopter ride was happening for months prior. And now to the refund. The girl at the counter said the refund would take 7-10 days. Ok, thats typical, whatever. 12 days goes by, no refund. E-mail and call. They respond and say that, because its been more then 6 months, we cannot refund back to your card. We can either ACH (and attached a form) or send a check. I respond to tell then to send a check. Who in their right mind is going to provide their bank account number and routing number into a microsoft word file and e-mail it back? Fast forward ~ 21 days. Still no check. So send another e-mail (haven't called yet because that is a whole other experience...). I receive and e-mail back, not a response to my e-mail, but a carbon copy of the first one sent 9 days prior saying I can use ACH or check. Um, huh? So here we are now, still no refund. Fortunately, since we were heading to Vegas that day (was supposed to be right after our helicopter flight), we booked with Maverick for a helicopter flight over Las Vegas the next day. $450 for family of four, and the experience was excellent all around. I'd recommend Maverick, and avoid this company.

First stop was the Fabulous Las Vegas sign for photos, and then a group breakfast at McDonalds. We then went on a very picturesque drive out to the Hoover Dam, and we spent over an hour there, enjoying the sights and learning about the structure and its construction. Lastly, we drove out to the West Rim of the Grand Canyon. We enjoyed the glass bottomed Skywalk, and then took more photos around Eagle Point. There was plenty of time to check out the gift shops. We saw some replica Native American structures, and enjoyed watching some dancing. We then drove to Guano Point for a picnic lunch, a hike, and plenty more photos. Before the drive back to Vegas, our guide stopped by the Joshua Tree forest, and we snapped a few photos. It was such a wonderful day! FIVE STARS.
