As I planned this trip, I started researching helicopter tours. I quickly found several options. After digging deeper, I found that Serenity has a PERFECT safety record. I am not suggesting that some of the other operators are unsafe in any way, but I liked how Serenity places their commitment to safety as a priority on their website. Adventure & fun were a factor in my planning, but being in safe hands is most important! My friend & I booked the Sky Dancer Landing & Picnic tour. Since we were driving, we skipped the shuttle service provided by Serenity from Vegas. Instead, we received instructions on where to park at Boulder City Airport and to call once we arrived. After we parked, Christina quickly came out to greet us & to let us into Serenity's private terminal. I took my iPhone to get photos & my sunglasses. I asked Christina if I should grab my jacket, but she assured me that the weather would be similar to what we were feeling at the airport. Feel free to call ahead if you want to ask about brining a jacket. The staff is well aware of the weather in/around the canyon. The lounge is very comfortable, well decorated, & has clean restrooms. After check-in, the staff chatted with us and offered us plenty of drink options while we awaited our flight. It was obvious that everyone at Serenity loves working there. The staff explained what we should expect & gave us some preliminary instructions. Once the helicopter was prepared, the staff prepared us & the other guests who were joining us on the flight to head out to the helipad. Once on the helipad, the staff took a few photos of us with their camera in front of the helicopter. You will have the option to purchase the photos later. The staff helped us board the helicopter & got us buckled in. Once onboard, our pilot greeted us. We were lucky enough to get Maddog Mike. Maddog has a bit of a reputation for being a favorite pilot for Serenity's tours. I quickly found out why! Once we were settled onboard, Maddog got our headsets in place and ensured we were briefed on the helicopter's safety procedures. I appreciated his attention to detail to ensure we were all safe/comfortable! As you lift off, Maddog uses his personal playlist to play music that we could hear in our headsets throughout the flight. He did a good job at choosing appropriate and fun music. Any commentary from your pilot overrides the music so you won't miss anything. Maddog was sure to point out the sights and discuss the geology & history of the area/Grand Canyon West. He also touched on some of the native American trips that live in & around the canyon. Maddog seems to know his stuff. Maddog might suggest that you don't get caught up in taking too many photos because he wants you to not miss a moment of the flight. But, if you're like me, I like getting photos & videos along the way and you're welcome to take as many as you like! We flew by Hoover Dam, over Lake Mead, & then towards Grand Canyon West. Maddog was happy to answer questions along the way & continued pointing out sights. Expect Maddog to make more than a few jokes! As we approached the canyon we flew past the Skywalk. The descent into the canyon was breathtaking! You descend towards the floor as the canyon's walls rise around you. Maddog made a smooth touchdown at Serenity's landing site on the canyon floor. The views are tremendous. You can see the Colorado River not far from the landing site. The landing site has a few benches and a picnic table. Maddog got the picnic/drinks setup while my friend & I walked around the area to get a few photos & to enjoy the canyon. We eventually joined the other passengers/Maddog at one of the tables where we chatted for a bit and enjoyed the picnic. You are welcome to simply sit on a bench or rock & connect with the canyon or you can chat with your pilot/other passengers while enjoying the picnic. I did a bit of both & got a few photos with our helicopter sitting in the canyon. It's so peaceful on the floor of the canyon. After about 40 minutes on the floor the canyon, Maddog got us back into the helicopter for our return flight. The views on the route back to the airport are not quite as stunning, but still awesome. If you want to get any videos or photos on our flight of the canyon around you, take them as you begin your descent into the canyon. Maddog continued to play music for us & to point out sights. Back at the airport, we said farewell to Maddog & passed along some gratuity. You can also leave gratuity for your pilot in an envelope provided inside the terminal. Once back inside, you can view/purchase the photos that the staff had taken earlier. The staff offered us some more drinks. The lounge staff have a tip jar on the counter, so remember to bring a bit of cash for a tip as you will love everyone working here! If you get Maddog as your pilot, be prepared for some wild commentary & jokes along the way!

This was an amazing experience from start to finish! We were picked up on time at our resort and shuttled in a clean vehicle with a super nice gentlemen who obviously loved his job (which was so nice to see). As we entered to prepare for the flight the ladies at the counter were efficient and so nice. Once we were in the helicopter with Mad Dog we knew we were in for a treat, he was so knowledgeable of the area and made the flight extra fun. This was a present for my fiancé birthday and she was thrilled the whole time! This was hands down one of the best experiences of our life and this company was so accommodating and clean and thorough it just made the day extra special! If you are looking for a helicopter tour company look no further! This is the one you want! Thank you everyone! P.s.-Mad Dog is the s$&&!

What can I say, this tour was a blast. Mad Dog Mike our pilot was one of the most interesting guys I have met in a while, his music selection and commentary was on another level, his take on how the Grand Canyon was made really made my flight. Lunch in the canyon next to the Colorado river was beautiful and I would recommend this trip to anyone looking for something different to do while in Las Vegas, check it out it was worth it.

Looking for adventure? Take a helicopter tour of the Grand Canyon. We took flight with this company. It was breath taking. The pilot has an amazing knowledge of history and a comical sense of humor. Very entertaining.

This is a fantastic activity! Everyone was super nice and helpful. They picked us up from the hotel room in a nice shuttle. The driver was really knowledgeable and friendly. The staff at the Serenity was really nice and talked to you while you were waiting. Tom, the pilot, was super nice, made jokes, talked to you the entire time. We had breakfast in the Grand Canyon and it was delicious. We had mimosas and food. Everything was fantastic. Highly recommend.

This tour is THE BEST!!!! Our pilot "MadDog" was truly AMAZING!! His knowledge of the canyon was simply mind blowing! After flying over the Hoover Dam and Lake Mead we landed inside the canyon and sipped on champagne and ate some nibbles. Then we had the most EPIC flight back with a sunset that truly was stunning. We are already planning to do this again!

Bought this tour for my family through Costco. They picked us up at the Mirage and drove us to Boulder City airport. The driver was very nice and informative and we watched a safety video for the Helicopter ride on the way. Boarded our Eurocopter helicopter and flew over the Hoover Dam on the way to our landing spot in the western rim of the Grand Canyon. Pilot Mike (Mad Dog) Davis provided tons of great info and points of interest as well as some real good music. Mike was pure gold. Great pilot and great attitude. After landing we took many pictures. Then sat down for a quick bite and a glass of champagne. Took a few more pictures and loaded back up and flew back. Had a great time and I truly think that's the best way to see the Canyon. Unbelievable views and a fantastic ride. I totally recommend Serenity Helicopter tours in Vegas and would do it again.

This is my favorite thing I've ever done in Vegas...and I've done a lot!!! 15 trips and counting, baby - it steals the show without a doubt! First of all, I am terrified of heights. I get weak in the knees in glass elevators and on bridges. Why would I subject myself to this you ask? YOLO! You can slap me for that ridiculous pop culture phrase (what am I, a Kardashian?!) but it truly is the reason I made myself spend the $480 for the experience. Yes, you may balk at the price, especially considering it is more than the round trip airfare you paid to get to Vegas in the first place but...it is breathtaking. And one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World! The experience from start to finish is first class. Yet another reason I love small companies. They really focus on those finishing touches. We were picked up in a Mercedes van by the cutest, friendliest driver right on time. There were iPads (with internet!) and water for each seat as well as the ability to ask for good music to be played. He chatted with us for the 30 minute drive to their private airport and metaphorically held our hand during checking-in. The girls at the desk are pretty friendly although at times they seemed a little exasperated. I can't fault them...they were herding cattle! And when I say cattle I am being a bit sarcastic, there are only 12 people max. They have 2 helicopters which seat 6 tourists each. (Sooooo much better than the other companies that have 20 choppers in their fleet.) As soon as Caroline and I got in the chopper (seated right next to the pilot), I knew this was going to be in my top 5 favorite experiences ever. Our pilot, Dr. Love, was one of the coolest tour guides I've ever had (and I've traveled a lot). Plus I felt perfectly safe considering he was a fighter pilot and a helicopter mechanic. He syncs his ipod to correspond perfectly to what you're seeing (a REALLY good soundtrack - I won't spoil it for you but America's A Horse With No Name was on it) and gives a fun, informative and funny tour thousands of feet above the ground. I thought I was going to have to close my eyes the entire time but I felt like I was flying! I don't know why but I had no anxiety and felt safer in this tiny helicopter with glass at my feet than I do in a giant plane. And when we got to the Grand Canyon I felt like we were in a dream. It was surreal...especially when you land on their private landing at the bottom of the Canyon. What a view! And you get a picnic - with champagne! I was going crazy with my camera - that view! Don't worry if you're not a photographer type they take photos of you ($20 for a 5x7) and they film the whole thing, which you can purchase for $50 (it includes the photo as well). GREAT experience and so much better use of your time/money/life than getting wasted on the strip...

What an amazing experience! My boyfriend and I booked the Sky Dancer sunset tour. It included a narrated tour over Lake Mead, Hover Dam and the West Rim of the Grand Canyon. We landed on a private shelf just about the Colorado river. We had about 35-40 minutes to explore and take pictures. It included a light picnic and a champagne toast. It was a perfect break from the hustle and bustle of the holiday season. Our pilot was Christie and she was knowledgeable, funny and a great photographer! She absolutely was one of the reasons why this was so special! Thank you Serenity Helicopters for making this such a lasting memory on my bucket list!

Another solo adventures, and best part of my Vegas trip this year! I was picked from my hotel by Serenity luxury limo and a friendly driver and we drove to the helicopter terminal. I was checked- in by the friendly staff at the first class facility, then we took off on my first helicopter ride which i will always remember. Mike, our pilot, was the BEST!!! Very personable, funny and experienced. The music tunes he choose were just perfect and entreating and his tour commentary, oh my! HILARIOUS!!! We flew over the Hoover Dam, the view was picture perfect and breathtaking. Then we landed at bottom of the Grand Canyon for an afternoon bite which was good, again the view was Magical. if you ever want to see the Grand canyon you got to see you from up above. Its worth every penny. Five and half Yelps!

It was our first time seeing the Grand Canyon. We took the sunset dinner tour and were very happy we did. Our pilot, Christy, was wonderful. Great music playing. She gave many facts about the area. She was a very sweet and personable host for our trip. So glad we got her. The view from a helicopter is nothing like you can get anywhere else. I'd do it again in a heartbeat. We're vegetarian and they accommodated us by serving a vegetarian lasagna, which was delicious! Others had what looked like a pot roast and mashed potatoes. I don't eat meat but it smelled great and they seemed to enjoy it. We spent some time on the bank eating dinner overlooking the Colorado River and then the trip back with a beautiful view of the sunset. Overall a great experience.

We were told that the raft could hold about 32 people, but we were lucky because on tour we had a total of 17, which was nice. We were also given a bag with snacks and a bottle of water, which was great to snack on during the tour. We met our driver at the Hoover Dam lodge. There was a lot of parking available, which made it easy. Our driver was super friendly and very informative. He took us to the raft to meet our tour guide. Our tour guide wasn't welcoming to my husband and I, but as other guests loaded onto the raft, his attitude changed. As we started the tour we stayed at the same spot for 30 minutes. Our guide passed out pictures in sheet protectors and began sharing about the history of the Hoover dam. Throughout the tour, our guide was testing us about our history. We didn't know much of it, that's why we attended the tour to learn. The best part of the tour was us getting out of the raft and landing on a piece of land to touch the water and skip rocks and take more photos. It was nice to see a few mini waterfalls and even a hot spring! I did wished we went deeper into the dam, but I guess that would've been for the longer tour. Also, I wish we could've swam in the lake, but it was very chilly. It was a great experience, however, the initial encounter with our guide was uncomfortable. We learned a lot and the views were amazing.

This was such a fun excursion. We are locals and have people visiting us from out of town. Really nice guy and very knowledgeable about the area. Our driver Micheal was also fantastic and helped get us oriented to the dam as we took the drive from the meet up point to the boat. Would highly recommend this tour, especially if you need to get away from the craziness of the strip for an afternoon. We did the hour and a half tour, but I think we will come back for the three hour.

Best day ever at the Camel Safari! Guided by Adam and Allie-two of the most knowledgeable,…read morefriendly, and genuinely caring people you'll ever meet . This experience was unforgettable from start to finish in their 165 acre property. We kicked off the day with a short ride on Jafar, a stunning, gentle giant weighing nearly 3,000 pounds. ( love at first sight) After taking some amazing photos with him, he happily stayed nearby and spent the rest of the day with us. From there, we met several other camels and hopped on the tram, where more adventures were to be had . Along the way, we encountered so many incredible animals, more camels, a zedonk, llamas, alpacas, and miniature horses. One of the highlights was feeding Thorn, their adorable pet porcupine, grapes she was just the sweetest little girl. We also got to see New Guinea singing dogs (so cute!) and Ambien, their 20-year-old sloth, who was just as amazing to see in person as you'd imagine. Feeding the alpacas and llamas carrots was such a fun, hands-on experience. As if that wasn't enough, four friendly Ridgeback dogs casually joined us on the tram, roaming freely and adding even more charm to the day. Every animal we encountered was gentle, well cared for and clearly loved . I truly can't say enough wonderful things about this experience it was pure joy from beginning to end. If you've never met a camel, Ilama, or alpaca, you're missing out. These gentle creatures will absolutely fill your heart. I'm already looking forward to going back again soon. I didn't want the day to end . This is one adventure you don't want to miss it's truly an overload of joy! "LIVE LIFE WITH LOVE & LAUGHTER" ~PEACE JODY~

First, you NEED to make a reservation before going…read more I never knew we had a ranch with 30 Camels, Alpacas, a Llama, New Guinea Singing Dogs, a Two Toed Sloth, an African Crested Porcupine, a Donkey and a few other animals about an hour outside of Las Vegas. Guy the owner, an amazing bank of knowledge, he knows so much about each animal and more. He is a little rough around the edges and some may think him rude; you try to manage a 176 acre ranch with well over 60 animals who have to be fed daily, not so easy... The Camels have a diet of lettuce, carrots, sweet potatoes, apples; the sloth has a special diet which includes egg whites, the ranch dogs get the yolk as a daily treat and they know when that's coming. So in addition to taking care of all the animals, the ranch which is 176 acres, there are also tours to manage. So show him a little appreciation for what he does every day, seven days a week, etc... You can do camel rides, an ATV experience, a zoo tour on a tram, it's not easy and I feel for him so if you go out there, understand his personality has to be rough to deal with all this. Also understand, each animal has its own personality and feelings. Yesterday, Norm a camel used for rides was having a bad day. He was not in the mood for riders. I first tried to ride Norm, he was calm getting his saddle on but once I got on him, he was nope. When Allie got me off of Norm, Norm had an attitude with both Allie and Guy, Norm had to be put in a kennel which Norm was not happy about but needed a time out. So remember, dealing with 30 camels, mini horses, a Llama, Alpacas, a sloth, etc; they are dealing with a lot of different personalities and feelings in addition to people coming to visit. Safety is taken as a HIGH priority. These animals can inflict pain & even death, so I have a LOT of respect for Guy & Allie. They not only have to be concerned with adults but children as well. We arrived at 8:45 which is when the gate is opened, we met Allie and Guy along with another couple. We rode first and as I said Norm was not happy so I got off and they took my friend around the track. Upon coming back with my friend, a whole group showed up for the zoo tour so we were asked if we minded doing the zoo tour and then we will get back to the camel ride. No biggie... The zoo tour was amazing. We got on the tram and were taken to see every animal on the property stopping in each area, learning all about the animals in that area with the opportunity to ask questions, got to go in the kennel to feed the Llama and Alpacas, cool animals, petted the zebra, fed and petted the porcupine, got up close and personal with the sloth and just had an amazing experience. The knowledge gained yesterday was so cool. Once the zoo tour was over I got to ride Lodi. The camel ride was really cool, long and a really neat experience I would do again. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND you go out and visit this Camel Safari. They need the support as they have a lot of mouths to feed daily and you will have an amazing experience in the Nevada desert.
