This was easily one of the most fun things I did in Vegas. The drive from the Strip to the river is about an hour and actually really scenic, you pass some pretty cool rock formations along the way. We had Brett as our guide and he was awesome. The weather couldn't have been better and the water really is that bright green you see in photos. When the sun hits it just right, it's unreal. The whole kayak route is beautiful, and we even saw a bald eagle flying overhead, which was a nice surprise. Tips: Don't book this if you're not in decent shape, it's about 3-4 miles of kayaking. If you're unsure, go for a tandem kayak and bring someone to share the work. It'll make the experience way more enjoyable. Just make sure to request a tandem kayak in advance read more

Unfortunately, I really wanted to like the experience since it was my first time but there were some things that could improve. First of all, I wouldn't recommend it for someone who is a complete newbie as it will be hard to keep up and they do not wait. Our guide did not keep track of people when they move to a different area so there was a group missing when we reached the shore. They eventually caught up but they were experienced. Second, the guide decided to stop and let others spent too much time at that shore or beach not really doing anything. Then it was time to leave back to where we started but the guide did not wait for us to catch up. We eventually lost sight of them and paddled in the wrong direction. It was also windy so super hard to go against the resistance, especially when we had injuries from falling. If they had not spent so much time at that shore and would've looked back for us, then we wouldn't have gotten back that late from being lost. Lastly, the female guide didn't send us the pictures they told us they would despite leaving them our number and reaching out. We got some good pictures ourselves so it didn't really matter to me but it's the principle of following up. This is based on MY experience, so I don't care if other beginners adapted well. But I would recommend renting a kayak and going at your own pace if you're completely new to paddling anything. They need to train the guide better because it wasn't once but twice that they lost people from the group. And I still have the scar from the injury on this trip. read more

Great day kayaking the Colorado River. Brett is knowledgeable, kind and funny. He went the extra mile to make sure our group had a wonderful time. We saw birds of prey, herons, loons, and big horn sheep with their baby sheep at the rivers edge. Go in the morning to see emerald green water and experience less wind while kayaking. Griffin was a fun and informative guide. He was super relatable, personable and knowledgeable of all the local areas. Kept our group safe, went at a great pace for everyone and we all had an amazing time. It was hot but since the Colorado River is always cool, it didn't feel as hot as it was. 100% take the 9am tour!! Not as busy with all the paddlers and kayakers. We didn't have to wait but 5min for the Emerald Cave (although the sun wasn't shining into it). Didn't matter because the entire Colorado River is green! Sundays there are not motorboats allowed. Kayaks were comfy, seats didn't have any rips or anything. There were single and double seaters. The paddles were in great condition. Griffin had granola bars, chips and waters for us. He took pictures with our cameras for us. Overall it was great. 100% recommend Veterans Kayaks! read more
