I had a facial today with Misty, and oh my goodness-- it was INCREDIBLE! I was blown away. I've had facials before at day spas, and hers was by far the best. She explained the basis behind what she was doing & was politely updating me on which stage we were at during the process. As someone who hasn't gotten a haircut since pre-Covid times, I was anxious to go somewhere new. My previous hairdresser moved away. I took a chance and went to Sanctuary Salon and Spa. The salon is in a prime location and we'll decorated. Cassie, my hairdresser, was very nice. She definitely knows what she's doing too! She listened to my every detail and made sure I was happy. *This is based off their experience for men's haircuts* The staff is super friendly and loves to chat. The quality of the haircuts are good and the prices are a tad bit higher than I would like, but they are competitive with the market. The parking situation is a little unfortunate because if you cant find a spot along State St (parallel parking), then you have to park on First Street (in front of Peel Wood Fired Pizza). They accept cash and credit and offer other beauty services that I have not tried. I wish they had better hours on the weekend. Stephanie was amazing! I came to her with grown out roots and orange hair. I left with beautiful blonde hair that complimented my skin tone and eyes! She was great in the consultation. I told her what I wanted and she knew exactly how to deliver. Not many people know how to do blonde but Stephanie is an expert! I highly recommend her for your hair needs. The lady who greeted me was super sweet and remembered me by name when I came back. Kim D. cut my hair and gave me exactly what I asked for. This place is amazing. Andrea does my hair, not only does she listen to what you want, she executes it perfectly! She does my hair so well, I have really long thick blonde hair. I have had my hair fried in the past at other salons, I have asked for a "blonde" color only to walk out with something that the hairdresser thought was good, only because I realized they really didn't know how to give me what I asked for. Andrea knows how to do hair and therefore knows how to do my hair the way I have ASKED. She does color so beautiful and the way she highlights hair is really gorgeous. My hair grows out so nice and does not have that square lined foil look, it falls so natural and gorgeous because she knows how to highlight hair! I love this place and Andrea is just a true artist! Where to start??? This salon is literally a sanctuary in downtown o'fallon with the best colorist I've ever had in my life. Amena is not only skilled at making my hair look natural and straight up knock out gorgeous, but she's also knowledgeable in product (a $40 product she suggested has lasted me more than a year and I use it every day to make my hair feel like I was actually born blonde and not color processed my whole life).... and when I wanted to try bright pink in my hair she managed to pull it off without any breakage or over processing. I swear she's magic! The salon itself is relaxing and has such good vibes it feels like a vacation in the middle of the day. All the girls are friendly and helpful. I highly recommend this salon for those of you with disposable income. It's definitely NOT cheap -- but you're paying for some seriously excellent customer service. Upon arrival, I was asked if I wanted a complimentary iced tea or wine (It was 2 in the afternoon, so I opted for the iced tea). My stylist was finishing up with a client, so I waited for a few minutes and nibbled on some M&Ms from their candy bowl. I was getting corrective color done on the black in my hair...I knew this was going to be an extensive process. It took a little over two hours (which is actually quite fast), but the end result was not to my stylist's liking, so she scheduled me to come in again in a couple days for a FREE touch up. Mind you, when I looked in the mirror, I thought it looked fantastic....but, hey, what do I know? She's the expert and amazingly friendly. Sarah is the best :) These women all have a great deal of professional experience...do your hair a favor and check out Sanctuary. You won't be disappointed! read more

I showed the girl a picture of what I wanted, and she clearly didn't pay attention. I asked for a rooting style I found online that had purple highlights. Instead of blending the colors together, she painted the top of my head purple. It looked like Barney pooped on my head! There was no blending or highlights. Prior to the painting, she showed me the paint in the bowl and asked if it was ok. I said sure, but I'm not a stylist. How should I know what a color in a bowl will look like on my hair? That's her job to know that. The bleach was blue, should I assume it will turn my hair blue? When I told her it was not what I had asked for, she insisted that it was and would have to charge me a "discounted rate" to fix it. I should have gone to Wal-Mart and bought a box of bleach and fixed it myself! Her discount was $60!!!! I ended up paying $250 for a crappy hair cut and dye. The owner actually tried to blame me for it!! I don't recommend this place. You could get the EXACT same result from Great Clips and a box of dye at Wal-Mart and save yourself a ton of money! read more
