Long story short, I had never tried acupuncture before and came into my first appointment with a multitude of complaints. I had been especially struggling with eczema and anxiety. Dr. Rivera made me feel at-ease with the process of acupuncture and recommended a course of treatment. After weekly treatments for a little over 2 months, there is a night and day difference. My eczema has healed to the point where I no-longer need to use steroid creams. My anxiety levels have lowered so much that I no-longer need to have regular therapy sessions. Dr. Rivera has also helped balance my digestive system, hormones and much more. She has even recommended diet and lifestyle changes that have made such a big difference in how I feel. I feel so much more in-control of my body and I would recommend Dr. Rivera to all of my friends!

By the time I booked my appointment at this spa, I was running on fumes and desperately needed a reset. From the moment I walked in, I felt my shoulders start to drop. The ambiance is incredibly calming. Soft lighting, gentle music in the background, and a subtle, clean scent in the air instantly set the mood. It didn't feel rushed or commercial. It felt peaceful and intentional. And the masseur... wow. The hands of the masseur were so relaxing and intuitive. Every movement felt thoughtful and perfectly paced. They found all the tight spots in my shoulders and upper back without me having to say much, and the pressure was just right. Firm enough to release the tension, but gentle enough that I almost drifted off to sleep. At one point, I genuinely forgot what I was stressed about. After the session, my body felt lighter and my mind felt clearer. It's rare to find a place that truly helps you disconnect, even if it's just for an hour. If you've had one of those overwhelming weeks like I did, this spa is exactly what you need. I walked out feeling like a new person.

How do I spell relief? Salvation? Hope? UnSoo!!!!!…read more UnSoo Kim, M.Ac., L.Ac., will now and forever by my acupuncture and physical therapy goddess. Four years ago I had a C-section, pulmonary embolism, two herniated discs, and a kidney stone in the space of four months. I was hospitalized three times. All the while pumping breast milk and managing to successfully produce enough for my infant son. I slept in a lounger chair for six months before moving back to my bed on a wedge that I never moved from. For almost the next three years I dealt with my primary doctors increasing amounts of strong narcotics (Oxycontin) and anti-epileptic drugs as a means to control my pain. After seeing a pain specialist, I began to get injections directly into my spine to deal with the ongoing pain I had in my lower back. And, none of it really worked or fixed the problem. This is where UnSoo comes in. After just a few treatments, my back is beginning to feel better. I am doing the physical therapy exercises she has given me to do. I am more than happy to shell out from my pocket to pay this woman for her unique expertise in both acupuncture and physical therapy, in which she is licensed. Additionally, she was a yoga teacher for many years. She knows her stuff and she knows the body. She has got a plan to get me back into working order in about four months, and I believe she will be able to do it and to help me do it. I'll be honest, the office is cramped and overfull, and has nothing like a spa feeling. However, I still won't take away a star. If you too suffer from lower back pain, I would recommend her in a heart beat.

Devra is an incredible masseuse…read more I like to stay in shape, and with athletic activity comes some wear-and-tear. For that reason, I've gotten massages off and on for the past eight years when necessary. I generally like deep tissue, or a hard forceful massage, because that gets the muscles to heal the best for me. Devra is very knowledgeable about the body, knows how to work out injuries, and is friendly and nice too. I have been seeing her for about six months, and I would recommend her to anyone without hesitation. Oh yeah, there are great rates for students too!

Angie and Justin have changed my life…read more I've been going to Acupuncture for Balanced Wellness for years, and I can't imagine where I would be without this team. My preference is to do chiro before acupuncture, and the office is always willing to do what they can from a scheduling perspective to accommodate my request, which brings us to our first stop, Justin! Embarrassing for me, but I've cried a few times in Justin's face because of aches and pains. Justin always takes his time to listen to my physical woes, and he goes to work to get 'em out. He uses a variety of methods from heat to stim to good 'ol chiropractic adjustments- all with a smile. I definitely feel loosey-goosey and ready to get poked, which brings me to my second stop....Angie! No matter the challenge I bring into the acupuncture room, Angie is ready to meet it. Angie also uses a variety of techniques from different laying positions to stim to heat lamps. PS Angie- where can I get one of those heat lamps for my house?? I don't think there's ever been one acupuncture session where I haven't gone into a fully meditative state. The hour long session feels like it's 5 minutes, and I always wake up feeling fully refreshed. We usually end our sessions with cupping, which has been a game changer in my physical healing journey. I genuinely don't know where I would be without these two. Every time I'm in this office I reflect on how grateful I am to have this tremendous duo in my corner. If I skip a week, I can absolutely tell a difference in my body. Suffice it to say, Angie and Justin won't be getting rid of me any time soon! Angie, Justin, thank you infinitely. You both are blessings!

The masseuse (Kai) came out and offered me a water while I waited. The doctor returned around 1, my appointment time. When I called 2 weeks ago, he has already taken my Groupon number. He asked me to fill out the introductory forms. I prob should have asked to do that while I was waiting. I had a massage and chiro appointment. Kai made the atmosphere very peaceful, with low lights, fragrance, and music. She asked me for the areas to focus on, and to let her know when something was too painful. I wanted something to remove knots from my muscles, not just pamper me. After a lovely half hour, which felt way too short, I put on a gown and went to see the doctor. Dr. Jeon was informative and friendly. He talked to me about my issues, looked at my back, and used the electric laser machine before the treatments. The apparatus in the office was fine, but he still used his hands. I am used to switches and such, but it was fine. I would def go back for a longer massage and more chiropractic.
