She has an open door policy for students to speak with her whenever they want/need. They are very flexible on the clinical schedule which is good for those of us with kids or jobs that are not flexible. All of the instructors are very knowledgable and well respected in the fields they teach. One of our instructors is actually sought out by several schools. The time commitment is great. No Monday through Friday. Just one 8 hour day of class and 2-3 days of 12 hour clinicals/ SIM labs. There is no physical library at this time, but the school gives you E-books for each course, as well as access to saunders (both book and question bank), and ATI(physcal books, E-books, and question banks). They also are a lot more patient with semester payments than other schools. No one in my cohort failed the exit exam, so this program sets you up pretty well. Everytime we attend clinicals, we are told how greatful staff is to see Xavier students and that we are more competent by the time we graduate than students from other schools. We are allowed to start IV's, insert foleys, pass meds-of course under the nurse or our instructors supervision, but other programs don't allow student's to practice certain skills from what we've all heard. Over all, for the length of the program, the location, the price, and the training, I recommend this program to anybody who asks about nursing school. I would even come back to this school for my RN to BSN, but they are still in the process on working towards that accreditation and they said it will be a few years until that program can be up and running.

This review is for the EKG Technician Continuing Education course, Fall 2025, Concord Campus…read more The EKG Technician course is supposed to be an 11.5-week, 60-hour in-person program with instruction and hands-on lab experience, but the reality has been far from what was advertised, and instead a huge disappointment and waste of time. The start of class was delayed a week with no reason and no proactive communication about logistics - I had to reach out the first day of instruction just to find out which classroom to go to and who the instructor would be. Since then, multiple class sessions were canceled or ended early, and we had only about five hours of actual classroom time instead of the nearly 28 hours we should have had by the end of week 4 (minus four canceled classes). The content itself was very disappointing - mostly reading slides (which were a recap of the textbook) and watching YouTube videos with very limited access to equipment or lab practice (which seemed to be an administrative issue). There was no effort to make up missed time, and it's hard to see how students would reach the advertised 60 hours of instruction, let alone pass the course or pass state certification. The instructor appeared to have good intentions, but it seems this last-minute staffing decision left everyone unprepared, including the instructor themself. Attempts to contact Continuing Education for help went unanswered, which is incredibly frustrating for those of us who paid full fees (over $1,600) and commute long distances to attend. To make matters worse, the Concord campus at that time had poor (no) lighting on the walkway from the parking lot, which is definitely a safety concern for evening classes. Overall, this experience has been unprofessional and discouraging. CSU East Bay Continuing Education really needs to address the lack of communication, instructional quality, equipment availability, and basic campus safety before continuing to offer it. BTW, check your local community college instead if similar courses are offered, it will be A LOT cheaper ($46/unit for Cali residents)!

It's next to a state park or in the middle of it. So, I came here because I thought it was closer. When I was in grad school before, there was a campus in Walnut Creek. It was in the middle of downtown and was quite easily accessible. But this place isn't. And if there is traffic (and there was) look out! I am glad that I don't have to come here regularly because I'd have to get out of work a good two hours before class to get there on time and then drive all of the way home after class. They aren't open on Friday or Saturdays. But I was able to pick up my books. I was going to look for some school swag but they didn't really have any. In the future, I will have my books sent to me to avoid having to come all of the way out here to pick up two books.

It seemed like a great school until they completely screwed my daughter out of her chance at getting in to any college or university. She was given classes she didnt need and when her teacher left the school we were never notified until several weeks later. During those weeks her assignments and tests were locked which meant she couldnt move on until the teacher unlocked them. Since the teacher wasnt there anymore, my daughters emails to her teacher went unanswered. Several weeks later i received a phone call from her new teacher introducing herself. Assignments were FINALLY unlocked after the new teacher figured out how to unlock them. All the time my daughter wasnt able to do her assignments and test showed "idle time" which meant she wasnt doing work like she should be. She finished the year then decided to go to in person school for her sr year. We found out when we requested her transcripts for her new school, that her grades on her transcripts and her gpa were way lower than they should have been. Shes emailed and called the school several times and the last time received an email from the "principal" that i cannot believe would ever write like that to a former student asking for help resolving the issue. Shes a joke like the rest of the staff has become. They all have always been so kind and helpful until the last couple years. We have a couple staff members that have remained helpful to us and have said theres been several changes in staffing that have caused the changes in rude staff members that dont hold up to the same standards that they used to. My daughter has been denied several admissions to universities and colleges specifically listed as it being her jr year gpa which was not her fault. Admin is a joke there. For my daughter to reach out for help and basically be told its her fault and be told off by the principal, is ridiculous, embarassing, and sickening. This is her career. Her entire life put in hold due to a power tripping principal who should not even be in her position

The instructor is really nice and I can tell that she is very passionate about her job. The place is nice, safe, and very convenient. It is located at Filipino plaza, and it's close to many local businesses, such as banks, restaurants, cinema, police station, gray hound station, etc. The staffs at the clinical site, Whispering Hope Care Center, were all very kind and helpful. With in that 22 days of both theory and clinical, I have learned so much about the course and how to become an effective and reliable nursing assistant. Would I recommend this school? YES! I ended up failing during my prerequisite courses, leaving me with a $1,500 debt that I had to repay before I could try again. When I decided to return to nursing school, I carefully researched my options and chose the Modesto campus. Although both campuses were about 40 miles from where I lived, the commute to Modesto felt more manageable. More importantly, the Modesto campus felt like home. The support I received from the instructors and administrators went far beyond academics. They not only taught me how to become a nurse, but how to become a good nurse. Those lessons will stay with me throughout my career and for the rest of my life. My biggest piece of advice to future students is simple: read the books. Do not rely solely on Quizlet or shortcuts. Read the chapters, take handwritten notes, and put in the work. I am not the smartest person in the room, but I worked hard and gave this program my full effort. I want to express my sincere appreciation to Tu, Mr. Bennie, Ms. Laura, Amber, both Stephanies, and Stephanie at the front desk, who always answered my questions and every phone call. Saying they had all this time to do it when today was barely their first day of school. When were they suppose to do it? Before their first class ? Not enough time. If they expected them to do it on round up day, they're not understanding the fact that not everyone had the time to stay and switch their classes. It's a very long line too, so to not allow them to switch , even on the first day, is kind of wack.
