My daughter is thirteen and has been attending OAM Studios for the better part of eight years,…read moresince she was five. Before her very first trial class, I was afraid she would have trouble focusing and following directions. (Let's just say that in dance class she had mostly made faces at herself in the mirror or freestyled it unless I expended 200% of my energy making her practice her routines at home.) She went into her first art class wanting to draw a peacock chasing a cat, with no idea how. After an hour, her teacher had modeled a drawing for her, and she had paid attention beautifully, following his directions carefully. The teachers who work there have, from what I understand, been trained to teach art by building skills in sequential stages, helping students accomplish one skill and one project before moving on to the next. I believe this works well for all types of kids, not only for self-guided, serious kids, but especially for the playful ones, who need direction for their ideas. The staff knows how to be serious, but they are also wonderful at relating to some of my daughter's interests and talking to her in ways that I can't. She takes both pottery and the regular two-hour art lessons. Miss Molly and Miss Anissa are her teachers now, and she truly values their instruction and her time with them. OAM Studios continues to teach my daughter the importance of patience, perseverance, and attention to detail, values not only important to artistic growth but also in life. It takes a village to raise a kid, and OAM Studios has been a valuable part of our village.

We've honestly had such a great experience with the school and the teachers. Ms. Shanika has been especially amazing. She has always cared for our kids like they were her own and has gone above and beyond for them. One thing that really stands out to me is with my younger son. He just wasn't interested in reading and still wouldn't start reading even at 5. Ms. Shanika put in so much extra effort and patience with him, and before we knew it, he was sitting in the library corner reading book after book. As a parent, seeing that change was really special. The kids also got such a strong academic foundation. They learned all the basics really well, and I was honestly amazed that my older son knew his multiplication tables by the time he was 6. But what I appreciate most is that they teach more than academics. Respect, kindness, caring for others, independence and good values are a big part of the environment, which I think is so important in today's world. We're really grateful for all the teachers and especially Ms. Shanika for the love, patience and extra effort she has given our kids over the years. It truly feels like they were cared for as her own, and we'll always have a special place in our hearts for this school.

Both of our girls, Legacy and Honor, grew up here. Legacy started in 2022 when she was just two, and Honor started when she was about a year and a half. Legacy stayed until she started kindergarten at Coral Hollow, and this year Honor said goodbye as she started TK. Looking back, we realize just how much this school did for them. The structure, the organization, the care, the individual attention. Every Friday, the girls would bring home their work and my wife and I would honestly be blown away. They had an app where they sent pics all the time. Throughout the week, we'd get pictures of the girls working, learning, interacting with their classmates doing things that I honestly didn't even realize kids their age were capable of. As parents, that level of connection was priceless. And the teachers were amazing. A huge thank you to Miss Shanika, Miss Raji, Miss Jenny, Miss Farsana, Miss Sunita, and all of the other staff whose names I might be forgetting. You cared for our girls, you taught them, encouraged them and treated them with so much patience and respect. Our girls still talk about you, and still ask to visit. It wasn't only the academics, though. It was the environment they created, the small group attention, The individualized care, the way they celebrated birthdays and holidays, all the little moments that made the school feel really special. It genuinely makes me emotional thinking back. Montessori on the Prairie helped plant the first seeds of our girls' education and gave them a strong foundation that they'll carry with them for years to come. Distant learning have been a challenge especially in the middle of moving from one State to another but we were able to manage it! From another teachers standpoint, I know that Miss Quilici and Mr. Goodwin sincerely cared for my children. All of the Pre-K teachers were compassionate and caring for when one of my sons was in their class. Miss Maria most especially became my sons favorite in Pre-K. Mrs. McCarthy and Ms. Goodwin were awesome. Miss Quilici worked so hard to make sure learning doesn't stop in the middle of this pandemic. She was very helpful and listened to every possible question I would have throughout the year. She communicated very well. My son loves her. Mrs. Jackson and Mr. Schmidt made sure my older son was ready for Middle School. They both taught him to be independent. Mr. G continued to encourage my son to his full potential in Middle school. My son felt most comfortable with him. He enjoyed being in his class. Pam in the office is awesome. She is very helpful and kind. Thank You Bella Vista. The overall environment felt negative and, at times, openly unkind. I witnessed staff speaking to students in ways that were belittling and inappropriate. In one instance, a teacher used name-calling toward students--something that should never happen in any school, especially one that claims to reflect Christian values. Administration was equally frustrating. Concerns from both parents and students were consistently dismissed rather than addressed. Instead of feeling heard, I felt brushed off and judged. During a very difficult time in my personal life, I expected neutrality and professionalism, but instead experienced what felt like bias and a lack of basic understanding. Leadership was particularly concerning. While interactions could appear polite on the surface, the follow-through told a very different story. Decisions felt inconsistent and unfair, making it hard to trust the administration at all. The front office experience made things even worse. Shannon, who is often the first point of contact, was repeatedly rude and unprofessional in my interactions. The tone was unwelcoming and dismissive, which sets a terrible example for both families and students. First impressions matter, and in this case, they reflected a much deeper problem within the school culture. To be fair, not every staff member reflects this environment--Mrs. Quilcy stands out as kind, patient, and genuinely supportive of students. She deserves recognition for the way she treats families. Unfortunately, one positive example does not outweigh the broader issues. For a school that promotes faith and character, the lack of compassion, professionalism, and willingness to listen was deeply disappointing. I cannot recommend this school to families looking for a supportive and respectful environment
