My daughter is thirteen and has been attending OAM Studios for the better part of eight years,…read moresince she was five. Before her very first trial class, I was afraid she would have trouble focusing and following directions. (Let's just say that in dance class she had mostly made faces at herself in the mirror or freestyled it unless I expended 200% of my energy making her practice her routines at home.) She went into her first art class wanting to draw a peacock chasing a cat, with no idea how. After an hour, her teacher had modeled a drawing for her, and she had paid attention beautifully, following his directions carefully. The teachers who work there have, from what I understand, been trained to teach art by building skills in sequential stages, helping students accomplish one skill and one project before moving on to the next. I believe this works well for all types of kids, not only for self-guided, serious kids, but especially for the playful ones, who need direction for their ideas. The staff knows how to be serious, but they are also wonderful at relating to some of my daughter's interests and talking to her in ways that I can't. She takes both pottery and the regular two-hour art lessons. Miss Molly and Miss Anissa are her teachers now, and she truly values their instruction and her time with them. OAM Studios continues to teach my daughter the importance of patience, perseverance, and attention to detail, values not only important to artistic growth but also in life. It takes a village to raise a kid, and OAM Studios has been a valuable part of our village.

On the way home from my 4.5 year old's first day, she kept saying she missed art class. She loved the class and couldn't wait to go back. My 3 year old is looking forward to joining once she's old enough. She loves art as well. We're looking forward to many years of learning here!

As a Bay Area girlie who loves live performances but needs a seat and kind of hates crowds, I LOVED…read morethe Grand. I came here on a whim to watch All-4-One perform. (They did not disappoint.) Things I loved about the Grand: - Easy parking within a block (or two) via street and dirt lots. All of it was free parking. - Not fighting huge traffic other than I-580-EB on an evening. - Along a really cute downtown area that was about 3-4 blocks by 3 blocks. - Cheap snacks at the Grand that included beer on tap, wine, sodas, bottled water, candy, and nuts, all of which was very inexpensive by comparison to the Orpheum in SF. (Water, soda - $3; candy - $3; most alcoholic beverages were $6-9, IIRC.) - All great seating once you get inside. I didn't feel like there was a bad seat in the house. - Beautiful interior, just as ornate as The Orpheum. - Awesome lighting and sound, unlike the Golden Gate Theater, which has had terrible sound in the last two years. - Not a huge line to get to the restroom. - A space indoors for merch sales, for groups like All-4-One that choose to sell things. There's nothing critical or even nit-picky to say about my visit here. 5 stars. I had a great time, and I will be back. Tracy, y'all are so lucky!

I enjoy every visit, every show, play and every just random walk up on the weekend. Tracy is lucky to still have this theatre around. I hope more artists come around. Only issue is making the website more user friendly.
