Great location and fit in perfectly to chill and enjoy a flight. I loved the themed names of each of the beers like Alcatraz Amber, Sutro Saison and Ghirardelli Stout. Also had the Fog City IPA to complete my flight. The Ghirardelli stout had a rim of chocolate sauce. Incredible beer but after also having a Sundae next door, a bit too much. I would've preferred having this beer over the Sundae but I'll know better in the future. Service was helpful and my flight was poured quickly. Win win! read more

The one things that come to mind when you see a San Francisco in front of their organization is the San Francisco Giants which are still in San Francisco. Then their businesses which have San Francisco in their name and are located over 30 miles away like the San Francisco Premium Outlets which are in Livermore not in SF. Now with Football season in full swing there is a place where College Football fans from around the country and NFL fans when they visit San Francisco and you will also find local 49ers fans and it's called the San Francisco Brewing Company. One the last weekend of the Summer stroll with a little sunshine before the Fall I landed at Ghirardelli Square at San Francisco Brewing Company. This place is a tourist trap but makes an interesting fan base dynamic when you will find that Miami Dolphin fan lingering around or that Dodger fan hiding in public sight at this bar. You will also run to people who actually went to the College Football school playing on the screen from somewhere in the Midwest and South. They also celebrated Oktoberfest recently with live music. I got the chicken wings and legs which came naked and had to dress it with buffalo sauce. I then got the fish and chips which were fresh and a bit crispy which were beer battered and tasty. I then took flight and got a flight of beer which was refreshing. They also have another San Francisco Brewing Company location in Mission Bay. Perfect evening for a drink and some music. Was able to be seated with my party of 4 outside with quiet ease. Fried calamari is so good we had to get 3 orders! Fish tacos are crispy and have a good flavor. Tri Tip sandwich was a little over cooked, but the chimichurri made up for it. Grilled fish tacos are good, a little too much cabbage though. Thrown off because the server did not want to sell a single taco since "he wasn't allowed". The drinks are strong, specially the whiskey sour, love the fact that they make it foamy. The Fog city IPA michelada was more of a Bloody Mary for me though, lacks a bit of chamoy or Tajín rim.IPA is good by itself too. Rosé by the glass is ok.. it's Rosé. Will comeback again! May 22, 2026. Friday. Post-dinner drinks. We came visited here on the way to the Ghirardelli chocolate shop. This creative brewmaster, Justin Boehle, has lots of unique, tasty beers on the menu. I'm a lover of sour beers and this spot had two on tap. I tasted the Revenge of the Nerds sour, 7.5% ABV, with mixed kettle fermentation with Nerds candy. It was sour, sweet and warranted a 13 ounce pour for $11. They put crushed Nerds candy on the rim for an extra sour kick. This thing had a fruity kick and lots of punch. I followed the sour up with a 13 ounce pour of the Flanders-style ale for $18. This dark brown, 8% ABV ale, was aged in French Burgundy barrels. It had a very rich whisky burn and lots of full mouthfeel. A lovely ale for sipping. Stop by the brewing company for creative and amazing beers from Justin Boehle. read more

As part of my vacations, I always try to visit local breweries and I stumbled upon this brewery. Once inside, the ambiance was welcoming. People in there were having a great time and enjoying their spirits while also watching the TV displays. This brewery is hidden but it is right next to ghirardelli chocolate experience building. They also offer outdoor seating with a nice patio and public restrooms around the corner. As I browsed their beer menu, I noticed they had the "Pumpkin Spice Lager" seasonal and so I ordered it! Oh man, subtle flavors of pumpkin not overwhelming and the rim was made out of brown sugar and cinnamon; very fall vibes!! I loved it so much that I was sad to know it is only a seasonal beer. Very disappointed with the service that we received during our visit. We arrived on a late Saturday afternoon and were sat outside by the host. Before we were even greeted by our actual server (who was great btw), my boyfriend encountered a very hostile employee who antagonized him for getting self-serve water. While he was grabbing water for us, this worker kept pestering him asking him where he's seated at and if he's sitting inside or outside with the utmost amount of attitude. My bf is not confrontational whatsoever so he was super confused as to why this server was pressing him over grabbing water for himself. We saw other patrons grabbing water hence the reason why we grabbed some for ourselves as well. We were trying to figure out if maybe the worker was like that because he was planning to grab the waters for us..? Or if he was assuming we were random people grabbing water. Either way, it's WATER and there are a million other ways he could have approached the situation. I would come back to this establishment but will only be sitting inside or at the bar from now on which is disappointing because they have a beautiful outdoor seating area with live music. Surprisingly, one of the best taste in calamari I have ever had. Perfectly cooked, super soft where you don't even have to chew, and the breading was amazing. Pair that with one of the beers they brew in house and you've got yourself a perfect night. The atmosphere is great with firepits and heat lamps keeping you warm, i have absolutely no complaints (and i usually do). Perfect amount of the little octopus dudes to rings ratio, where you don't feel jipped, but also not overwhelmed by the feeling of eating a lil baby octopus. We were sat outside on benches where there was string lights and by nighttime, it was lit so cutely. My friends and I sat here for about 2 hours and chatted while drinking. I only had one drink but everyone seemed to have been enjoying themselves. Drinks were $14-$15 which was fair given the location. Service is super kind and attentive. We asked our waiter for different recommendations and he did not disappoint! I enjoyed my drink and the food choices he recommended. The menu is a bit limited on food items so this may not be the best place for dinner but more so a place to catch up with friends and hangout. Stopped by here for an event and if not for that, I wouldn't be caught dead at a brewery because I don't like to drink beer-the taste of it just isn't for me. However, the menu has something for everyone and I actually had a hard time deciding between the Strawberry Dreams/Sierra Nevada Trail Pass Golden/Willy Wonka Wildberry Blast Sour and eventually landed on the first drink without the alcohol aspect. My drink had a nice balance of tart and fruity sweetness, surprisingly no remnants of fake sweetness, so I appreciate that I wasn't entirely drinking juice. I'd recommend San Francisco Brewing for its close proximity to In N Out, Aquatic Park, and Ghirardelli! We came in for dinner after checking out the Ghirardelli shop. My phone was about to die and they were able to sit us next to a plug to charge which was a huge plus and ultimately why we chose to eat here. It is a brewery so it's a fun atmosphere with a pool table, games, TVs everywhere playing sports and seems like a fun place to hang out. The food was good, nothing amazing but good. My daughter's cheeseburger was huge for a kids meal so she was excited to have leftovers. My biggest issue was the service. The hostess was amazing and kept coming over to check on us. But our actual server seemed bothered that we were there. He came by to take our order and seemed like he didn't want to be there then he disappeared. After picking up some chocolate next door, i wondered the area a bit more and came across the San Francisco Brewing company, and decided to grab a beer. I walked in and was immediately welcomed by the bar tender. I took a look at the menu, and asked him what their best IPA was. He asked if I liked hazy, and suggested I try the Fog City Hazy IPA. I took his suggestion, and was very happy with the choice. It had a great taste, not overly hoppy, but very flavorful. The brewery is kind of tucked back in the corner of the shopping area, and sunken down, but a nice spot, very relaxing. They've got a big patio, and had several fire pits burning, because of the cooler December weather. Overall, a very welcoming space. In addition to their good variety of beer, which can be bought in pints, by the flight, as well as a good variety canned to go, they also offer food. I didn't have time to eat on this visit, but checked out the menu, and they had a good offering of sandwiches, tacos, pizzas, and traditional bar food like wings, nachos, baked pretzels and more. What I saw others eating, definitely looked good, and made my mouth water. I've got this spot on my list for a future visit next time in San Francisco, and based on the Fog City Hazy IPA, I'd recommend others check it out as well. read more

We were walking around Ghirardelli square and seen this brewery and decided to stop in and check it out as we love visiting different brewery's We sat at the bar and our server was so sweet and helpful with recommendations. We both opted for beer flights which I highly recommend as to give you several options to try as they make all beer on site. My personal favorite was the Pickle. Which has a nice little kick to it and is a completely different unexpected beer. Hubbys favorite was the flounders which looks incredibly dark but it has a little sour yet a wine taste at the end it's incredibly hard to describe but it was amazing. The pizza oven wasn't hot enough yet so we ended up with a pretzel with beer cheese and it was a little crispy on the outside and super soft inside the beer cheese has an amazing taste and isn't grainy like some I've had They have an extensive list of hard liquors as well so I recommend checking that list out as well. A brewery with a full service bar is a huge plus for us They have TVs, pool tables and a shuffle board along with outside seating if you prefer that. Would definitely come back here. read more

We came around 1:30 on a Thursday. Monday-Thursday they give you a parking ticket for the garage that charges you 1/2 for the parking so if you plan on eating here you can park at the garage and I think it would cost you $9 per hour but we paid $12 for 2 hrs at a meter if you can find one. The beers were good, but spendy. Might be the location but my 16oz nitro beer was $14. Then we ordered a flight, which the nitro wasn't included/allowed. We got the three sours and they charge you individually for the 4oz pours, 5-6$ each. It was a very expensive lunch! Over $100 for Baja tacos, smash burger, pretzel and the beers. The chips were freshly made with the tacos, nice Baja sauce on them. Burger was also good. Pretzel could have used more evenly coated salt. Beer cheese was pretty good. For drinks, they have a really good selection of beer (you can get a flight!) and wines and a completely full bar. The service is walk up bar and you can order food too. It also seems like they may do reservations for large parties. Staff also comes around pretty frequently to clean up. It was rimmed with candy pieces and topped with a sugared gummy candy. We came a second time as well because I wanted that beer again.
