Came here after a night at the exploratorium since we were all hungry from not eating prior to drinking and exploring. A nice short walk from there, Old Ship Saloon is exactly what I expected, a no frills pub with pretty typical bar food. A simple system of open seating and ordering at the bar. I got the crispy chicken sandwich with fries, which I believe are beer battered, super tasty and fresh. Crispy chicken sando had good flavor, but I could only finish half, since we split a steak quesadilla for the table. Wouldn't go out of my way to dine here, but would likely frequent it if I lived or worked in the area.

The Old Ship Saloon is such a hidden gem in San Francisco! It has that warm, welcoming "Cheers" vibe where everyone feels like a regular. The building itself is full of history, which makes the atmosphere even more special. The bartender was super friendly and attentive, keeping the drinks flowing without missing a beat. I had a Moscow Mule that was crisp, refreshing, and perfectly balanced. For food, I ordered the Asian Salad with chicken, and wow--there was so much of it! Fresh, flavorful, and definitely worth the money. Between the great drinks, delicious food, great prices and the inviting, historic vibe, this is the kind of spot you'll want to come back to again and again!

This is a very nice store. Make sure you go upstairs as well to see everything. It is very organized and everything is beautiful. It is also a better price than stuff next-door.

    Bacon Cheeseburger with seasoned fries

Best burger I have had in a long time The meat had a lot of Flavor and cooked perfectly Also I loved the sesame seed bun. You rarely see this anymore as it is old school . Will definitely come here again

I'm a California history buff and wanted to see the saloon that was built over the wooden ship that was the original saloon in 1851. The plaque out front was neat, but what was really impressive was the food. I ordered the Patty melt, it came on marble rye and a salad with blue cheese. My wife ordered the Reuben with sweet potato fries, both were EXCELLENT! The seasoning was right on, the salad was crisp. I've already experienced the saloon for its history, but the next time we go, it's going to be for the food. It's really good.

This is the oldest bar in SF. Friendly service. Classic sf vibe. Cocktails spot on and original

Old ship is a solid go to if you're in the financial district looking to grab lunch! I went with a group of coworkers and we highly recommend sharing the chips and guac! I also had their reuben with seeded wheat instead of rye with fries. Their fries were also perfectly crispy with a great texture outside and a creamy middle. The reuben was a good portion but the corned beef was a little tough and dry. Our server was attentive and checked in a couple times which was nice.

Great local spot! The food is fantastic and the bartender Paulie made me feel so welcomed!

Came here for a late night bite after an event. Located near the Embarcadero. You can park at a parking lot around the corner and it's less than a 10 minute walk. You order food at the bar. Decent food items. I decided on the fish and chips. Service was fast and the food came within 10 minutes of ordering it. The fish was decent. It did become soggy even after a few dabs of malt vinegar. The fries were crispy. Ordered a lager on tap. It was decent. Atmosphere is intimate. The bar is centrally located while there are also tables around the outside. Plenty of TVs for your comfort. Overall good food spot.

HAD to make a stop in San Francisco's oldest bar!!! The place is a genuine old time/good time saloon! The bartenders were TERRIFIC!!! We were there the night before 4th of July so it was thankfully pretty quiet. We ordered a couple of cocktails and the fried calamari. Breaded in CORN MEAL, it was perfectly cooked and easily the best calamari I have ever tasted! Can't wait to go back an try more of their food!!!

Great drinks, good vibes, would return! Stopped by with wife on a Sunday afternoon. Bar was clean, modern, with lots of wood. Drinks were outstanding! Had the Gold Rush, tasted like a smooth, refreshing bourbon lemonade. Wife had an ice cold scrimshaw Pilsner in a nice thick pint glass. I finished with the Philosopher's Manhattan probably one of the best manhattan's I've had, cold & smooth. Bar was pretty chill on an early Sunday afternoon. Bar tender, big guy with the Johnny Cash shirt, was quick, efficient, & personable. Would definitely return.

My bf and I ate dinner here this past Sunday and had a positive experience. The setting was clean and casual, with exposed brick walls, minimal decor, lots of wood, and several TV's for watching sports. Service was prompt and professional, and the wait time for our food was reasonable. The menu at the restaurant seemed to offer more options than what I saw online, so it was hard to choose what to get, but had to go with something different. The bowl of mac & cheese with added hot dog was the perfect comfort dish on this lovely evening, cheesy and creamy, with generous amounts of delicious grilled pieces of hot dog mixed in. The wedge burger salad was tasty as well, the fresh lettuce with juicy flavorful meat, a tad too much dressing (should have ordered it on the side), but all of the ingredients came together well. The cocktails were good too (pimm's cup and manhattan), nothing too extraordinary, but our experience as a whole was great, and worthy of 5 stars.

I just took over a building around the corner and this has become one of my go to spots. First time I got the hamburger wedge salad and buffalo wings. It was a pretty large portion. The second time I got the regular burger with bacon and fries. Today I just got an order of grilled broccolini and a hamburger patty. It was simply but perfect for what I'm trying to change my diet too. Service is good food comes out quickly and hot and correct. I think this will be a regular thing for me when I stop by.

The high decorative ceilings, stained glass accents, dark wood finishes, vintage-style lighting, and unique artwork throughout the restaurant give the place a warm and authentic feel. It feels like stepping into a historic Irish gathering spot right in the middle of San Francisco. The inside has plenty of character, with cozy booths, classic pub seating, and a spacious layout that somehow still feels intimate and welcoming. The décor and atmosphere alone make this place worth visiting, whether you're there for drinks, dinner, or simply to take in the ambiance. The food definitely lived up to the setting. I ordered the beer-battered fish and chips, and they were excellent. The fish was flaky and fresh with a crispy, golden batter that had great flavor without feeling too greasy or heavy. The fries paired well with the dish, and the tartar sauce added a nice finishing touch. I also tried the loaded potato skins, which were packed with cheese, bacon, sour cream, and green onions--flavorful and a great appetizer to share. Service was friendly and attentive, and everything came out hot and fresh. Between the quality food, generous portions, and one of the most unique interiors I've seen in San Francisco, Johnny Foley's Irish House is absolutely worth stopping by. A great combination of atmosphere, comfort food, and classic Irish pub charm.

It's generally a good place to watch a game because they have several TVs, but during my visit, they were showing way too much baseball. Having multiple screens on baseball was a bit boring; they definitely need to prioritize the NBA more when the playoffs are on. The pub food is good, and I noticed that the burgers and sandwiches are surprisingly priced lower than the wings. On the recommendation of my server, I opted for the Philly Cheesesteak over the Fish & Chips. The cheesesteak was okay--not the best I've had, but certainly not the worst--and it was quite large and filling. The fries were crispy and well-seasoned, though ultimately a bit mid-tier. Service can be spotty at Kezar, but it was perfectly fine during this latest visit. Overall, it's a reliable Haight-Ashbury staple if you're looking for a filling meal and a place to catch some sports, provided they have the right game on the screen.

However, the game we wanted to watch was being shown in the back of the bar and they had the nerve to charge $20 a head! In order for you to go to the bathroom you will need to go through the back. When I walked to the back there were like 4-5 people tops on the benches watching the game I wanted to watch while the front bar was packed. I'm not a bar owner but wouldn't it make more sense to show all the games for free while people spent money on drinks and food through out the bar. The waitress was also not good she gave us a thumbnail size of ranch for an order of wings. She also got our drinks wrong and when you ask her for more ranch it also came with a side of attitude. Needless to say I'm never going back to the Kezar Pub I didn't like the ambiance it was small dark and cramped plus they only showed some of the games for that day and when we asked to put another game we wanted to watch on the small TV (That was free) they said that the fire stick is not working. So the Kezar Pub does NOT show all the games. I give them 2 stars for the homie that was guarding the door to the pay per view section yes, there was a security guard charging $20 to go to the other empty room and he was so sympathetic he was like yeah bro "I know it's some BS I know but u can catch the score if you like."
