Fish & Farm was such a convenient find since it's attached to the Club Quarters Hotel where we stayed. We ended up eating here three nights in a row, and I'm glad we did--it gave us a good feel for the menu. The bartenders were always friendly and attentive, which made the experience even better. While the fish and chips weren't really my favorite (the batter could use a little more seasoning), the fries were solid. The real star of the menu for me was the crab cakes--they were packed with crab, perfectly fried, and topped with a flavorful sauce. Served over a fresh salad, they were hearty enough to be a full meal. I loved them so much that I ordered them two more times before we left town! The cheesecake topped with blueberries was also solid and was a great finish to our meal. My colleagues and I pulled up tonight because we needed something quick and it's directly across from our hotel. Unfortunately, now I understand the reason for the low reviews. Its a clean establishment and we were quickly seated ( it was pretty empty at 8pm). Adam was our waiter and he was sweet but dropped the ball a few times. We all ordered burgers and Unfortunately, my old fashion wasn't to my liking so he kindly removed it from my bill. I only order the burger and it was missing the caramelized onions and the fries were cold... i didn't notify Adam because I already returned my drink and my friend had an issue with her burger. When we split the check, I ended up paying $27 instead of $23. He mixed up the cards and I paid my colleagues tab instead of mine. Again, he was apologetic but our visit had 1 too many errors and I regret my visit and wouldn't return nor recommend. read more

Tried this business today since we stayed at the Jay hotel across the street and wanted to try something for breakfast close by and this is a very mixed review. First the service was horrible. The man who was in charge and greeting was rude and didn't welcome us. We stepped in and he immediately said, it's going to be 10 mins to be seated hold on. We were just taken back by that. No good morning or welcome or anything. We didn't want to get an uber or start looking for something else so we stayed. After we got sat it took anther 15 mins to take our order. When he took it, it appeared we were bothering him or something. This was like Seinfeld show "the soup nazi". He literally came and asked our group of 4, "what do you want to eat. As we would order he would say, "next!" Ok next! "Who's next to order!" This was horrible customer service. He then was yelling at the kid who was bussing tables so much so the kid looked afraid and broke a glass. After the young man cleaned it up, he yelled at him, now I want the bar area clean now. Let's go now I want this clean!' Poor young man. As for the food it was just there. The pancakes were not good. The eggs and ham were good but hard to mess that up. Overall I would never eat here again with this level of horrible manners, management and lack of respect and customer service. Someone should notify the owner. I came here with my family because we had dinner reservations nearby and were a little early. We thought we'd stop by here for a drink around 7 pm on a friday before going to dinner. Our party of 10 got seated right away and ordered our drinks quickly, thinking we'd be on our way soon. However, once we ordered our drinks, we had to wait about 30 minutes before the drinks came out. This is even after we reminded our server a few times, as we were the only ones in here and it shouldn't have taken very long. Finally, once the drinks came out, the moscow mule my sister ordered was just a glass of ice...they forgot the drink. We were running late to dinner at this point so we finished our drinks quickly and left, although the drinks didn't even taste good! The lemon drop I ordered was way too sour it was hard to drink, and all around there were complaints. At least the server was very apologetic which we appreciated! read more

My family and I came to this restaurant to celebrate my aunt's birthday. We were looking forward for the food, but unfortunately, we think that the food tasted mediocre overall. The mussels had a slight fishy taste to it; most of my family members could not eat it. For the price of $23 to have the size of the crab cakes to be extremely small while having the majority of the salad to cover the plate was not worth the price. The french fries were not crispy at all and lacking in seasoning. All of the foods that we ate range from $17 - $39, but the taste did not match the prices since I have had better foods with that price range. Although, the service is great since our waiter was able to accommodate all of our requests especially when there was many people in my family at the table. Even our waiter was having a friendly conversation with my uncle and let me have the Chocolate Souffle Cake for free! This place holds a special place in my heart. Tequila on the rocks, crab cakes & date night. It's perfect for all 3. Bartenders always so nice and attentive. Bar is clean and has an "old school vibe" with being up to date. There is a hotel next door that I stayed the first time I visited the restaurant, that is how I knew of it. I don't stay at the hotel as I live close by now, but we go now for dates. It's perfect. Quiet. Quaint and not a ton of people to interrupt. The crab cakes are delicious, so are the fries. Yes, I rate French fries. If you're in town for the night or if you live close by, you should try this place. Pros: the staff are friendly and attentive (my server was Greg). I asked for a beer recommendation and was not disappointed. I got the calamari salad and it was fantastic. I thought calamari and olives would be strange but the briny olives complimented the calamari. I appreciated that the calamari was grilled not fried. The lettuce base was a nice mix of greens, without any iceberg in sight. Cons: the dressing was a little heavy (only because the calami was so good!) so next time I would get it on the side. Went to Fish&Farm and ordered a few drinks at the bar. It was not that busy and I was waiting patiently for the bartender to catch up. He didn't look like he was in the good mood, had a stick up his a** or whatever was going on with him but luckily I got my drinks and cashed out with "Steve" and left a $5 tip. Good thing I saved the receipt cause Old man river decided to give himself 20% tip when I all I ordered were drinks at the bar. I thought I left a decent tip after all that. Fish & Farm should not have workers like "STEVE" around with his ugly a** attitude and shi*** crooked hair cut. Bad for business. Took awhile to get ahold of management cause their workers there kept saying "they're not in" and kept slamming the phone every time I called. It probably was Steve answering the phone. WORK ON YOUR PEOPLE SKILLS! I hope management sees this and recognized that this matter should not go unsolved with him being there. It was nice and tender, had 4 cherry tomatoes that had their skin off and was very sweet, and came with 2 dipping sauce. It was delicious! The chicken strips and fries were Delia's well. The chicken was lightly battered and crispy and tender, wasn't dry out. The honey mustard was very goood as the kids are went for it. The fries are nice and crispy and well seasoned. It stayed crispy the entire time we were eating. The fish and chips had the same crispy fries, the cod was nice and tender and fresh. The crab cakes were not my favorite but there was a fair amount of crab to it. Definitely a pretty cool place. read more

We stayed at the adjoining hotel, so this was a very convenient restaurant to try upon check in, especially because we were ready to eat! We got the Beer-Battered Fish & Chips and the Beer-Battered Chicken & Chips. Both were excellent! The batter was crunchy but light and had a very good flavor. The fish was not chewy - flaky and tasted fresh. The fries were amazing too! They did not taste like they were frozen then fried but were crispy and not soggy. Asked for a cocktail menu, noticed that there were a couple of drinks that had happy hour prices next to them. When the bartender (Greg) came back over I asked "so what's your happy hour specials?" He said "nah we don't have them" - which, ok maybe this is a Covid thing, I get it, menus don't get updated whatever. So I order the Dirty Ketel martini which is listed as $11 and tell him I'll just cash out and give him my card. I was charged $14. Idk what your taxes are like here in San Fran but I'm willing to bet it ain't $3 extra for a martini (which, was listed as having blue cheese stuffed olives and it def didn't/nor was it even mentioned that they were out of them, in fact the bartender sat them on my cocktail napkin beside my glass...gross) Anyway, I look up the menu online, and there's a whole ass "happy hour menu" on the website. My food was served timely and hot which is very important. I did not eat any other meals here but I highly recommend breakfast if you have kids you can place one order for them to share it is more than enough. This is the restaurant connected to Club Quarters Hotel in SF, and is open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. It looks a bit like an English pub with a dark interior, lots of sturdy wooden tables, and an open bar. We came here for a quick breakfast before heading to Sonoma county with the parents. Great that the restaurant had a good number of customers, but its a yellow flag that not many were eating. It turns out the kitchen seem really backed up today and waiters were running ragged, sometime disappearing for a while and not checking up on folks. When the food did arrive it was A-OK. The Express Scramble was like an omelet that's made with finely diced bell peppers. The breakfast club was a scrambled egg sandwich with tomato and bacon. Thank goodness there is no middle bread layer - I agree with Anthony Bourdain in that having three bread slices for a sandwich is totally inappropriate! The side of potatoes were crispy, well-seasoned, and great with ketchup. Side of fruit was fresh also so no complaints. Despite the decent food, service was a but slow and inattentive, so 3 stars. In hindsight, it may have been better for us to try Starbucks down the block for a quick bite. read more
