We had a great experience renting a trailer through SD Ultimate RV recently. We are local and wanted to stay at a beach campground. I shopped around and most places either never returned my calls or didn't have availability. I emailed them and within a few hours received a response with useful information and I was told to call to discuss further. Within a few minutes of calling, I had all the information I needed from Pat and put a deposit down. The day of, our trailer was dropped off and ready to go at our campsite before we got there. Pat called me and gave me a run down of important things to know over the phone but otherwise everything was ready to go. We had a great time and after some easy clean up, our trailer was picked up promptly without any fuss on our last day. I had a good experience storing an RV here. As a person new to RV'ing, Pat was extremely helpful and gave me some good advice in regards to RV questions. Rates were fair and he also recommended an awning repair person that did a great job on my RV. Even though I just met Patrick, I felt like I was treated like a friend versus just a number at some other RV companies. The RV's that are leased here also look quite good and I would recommend them. The location is good for renting an RV for Anza Borrego or Big Bear because it is already east. read more

Great rental experience! I found these guys through 5 star reviews on Yelp this summer but they moved to a new location in Lakeside since then so I guess their prior reviews (all 5 stars) disappeared. Sammy and Ginny took great care of us prepping us up and throughout our 10 day trip. These are really nice RVs and don't have the stupid advertising on the side of the RV (like Cruise America) which makes you feel like a nub. We rented the 31 foot 2008 Fleetwood. It was nice a roomy with a queen bed in the back. You can't go wrong with these guys. Highly recommend! read more

This was our first time renting a RV and Pat made the process so easy. We had the RV delivered to our site at Campland on the Bay this Memorial Day weekend. By the time we arrived, the RV had already been fully set up and ready to go. It was clean and everything in good working order. Pat called us shortly after arriving to make sure everything was good to go and answer any questions. We had a wonderful weekend, without the stress of worrying about tent camping or hauling an RV ourselves. Pat even called today to make sure we had a good time and everything was to our satisfaction. With so many 5 star reviews, we gave these guys a shot when we decided to rent an RV and take the family out to Yosemite. Pat was extremely nice and thorough about the RV we rented. On the drive up there something happened and one of the slide outs didn't work. I let Pat know ASAP but since we didn't want to sit around on vacation and wait for someone to fix it we decided to wait until we turned it in and chose not to have it fixed. Considering this happened the first day, it kinda put a damper on the trip since we had 10 people on our trip (4 adults and 6 kids) and we couldn't take advantage of the space. It's like we paid for a 32' trailer but only got a 28' trailer. None of this was Pats fault. The only reason this review is a 3 star versus the 5 star is that Pat was going to try to make it up to us when we got back. We went over the miles a bit but turned in the vehicle a day early. In my opinion: A 5 star review: They would have comped the extra miles we went over (around $130 extra charge) and may be half credit for turning it in early ($200 per day) A 4 star review: They would have comped the extra miles we went over (around $130) and called it even for having to deal with a broken slide out A 3 star review: They comped us half the miles we went over ($65) but still charged us $65 for the rest of the miles AND didn't refund any of the money even though we turned it in early so they can have extra time to fix it and rent it out again. Overall it was a decent experience but we spent over $1800 to rent the RV which broke on the first day. Next time we will just drive up there and stay in a hotel. read more

Great prices. A good inventory of RV's to choose from. Very professional and honest. What you see is what you get. No hidden fees. We have a toyhauler, but we needed a RV for a trip. This was my first time renting an RV. I was able to pick up the RV early and it was quick. The RV was super clean and ran well. All employees were very friendly (Pat, Samantha and Chris) and patient to all the questions we had. My husband and I have been renting RV's over the years from another company and had some issues the last two years, so we decided to make the switch to Pat and SDUV ! I am so glad we did. He worked with us and gave us a great trailer for the two weeks we needed it for a very competitive rate. I wanted to take a minute and thank few words about this great company. I have been dealing with Pat for almost half year, i rented the RV from him in august and unfortunately went to the place i'm not suppose to because it does affect the RV badly "Burning Man". I know he is very dedicated RV owner and very detailed, you know when he is giving you the RV it will be clean and working perfect. I mean everything from generator, fridge, gas, propane and i can go on. I returned the RV in not the best condition, but at the end of the the day he was very nice and honest. I went thru few hassles with the Samantha and Pat but i would definitely recommend them just because of the way they treat you and make sure you are having a good time on the road. I do appreciate their help and time, and would definitely recommend them to anyone if you are planing on renting the RV. No issues with security deposit and very quick turn around time. I give him A+. My only suggesting would be when you are planing on renting the RV be honest upfront about your direction this will save you a money and time, plus will actually help you to plan a much better the RV setup. Finding a trustworthy place to rent an RV is not easy. We have used the big brands and were tired of the large advertisements on the sides and the lack of flexibility. Pat and Samantha are so easy to deal with. I must have sent Samantha over 20 emails with questions before our trip and she was always very professional and helpful. The walk through process with Pat was simple, the RV was clean and in great condition. We did a 5 day rental. I bought the full cleaning package since I was pressed for time to get the RV back on busy July 4th weekend. Pat was nice enough to meet me on the Sunday of July 4th weekend to take the RV in. He did not nickle and dime me for everything like other places. To make it even better, my daughter lost her Ipod Touch in the RV and after calling Samantha she went through the RV herself and found it!! Great service and experience all around and I would definitely recommend them. You have enough to worry about on planning a vacation so let SDURV do the work for you. I would like to give this company a better rating but after today I can't. We rented an RV and drove to Big Bear for a family camping trip. When we got there it was evening and getting cold. When we went to turn on the heater it didn't work. We were told sometimes it takes a while for it to work etc so we just put on more layers and went to bed. By 2am it had not turned on and it was around 20 degrees in the RV. We called and when they called back they said they are surprised it didnt work but there is nothing they could do about it so they told us to go buy a space heater. They said they checked and it was working before we picked it up which I don't believe because my husband found where the heater was and on the unit itself there was a blinking error light. We wasted 1/2 of a day trying to fix it then when there was nothing we could do we had to drive into town and buy a space heater. When we returned the RV they checked and it was broken so they were willing to give us some of the cost of the heater and a discount on the propane. So it actually turned out to be about $40 discount off almost a $1000 rental after renting us an RV with no heat in November. If it were just a little chilly I would not even care, we could just put more layers on and be fine but at 20 degrees we couldnt warm the kids up with all of the layers in the world. Luckily they did give us a discount on the propane because it was used when the kids were so cold their fingers hurt so we turned on the oven and we all stood in front of it. Otherwise we would not have used the oven. When I called because I wanted to claify that the heater was more than what they were willing to give us and I would be willing to provide a receipt, she told me I was making out good and I was lucky because I still got to keep the heater. I would be more than willing to give it to her considering I live in San Diego and have a heater in my house so I have never even thought about needing a space heater. I am writing this review to anyone who is considering renting from this company, check and double check that everything actually works and don't just trust that they tell you it is in good working order. read more
