The owner is a terrible person. I made an appointment with him, to meet him to look at an RV. He confirmed the appointmen. When I called the day prior to confirm, he didnt want to keep the appointment. He said he was going to be tired and then proceeded to try to make me feel like I was wasting his time. Because I didn't want to pay cash (I got a good deal on financing). He was completely dismissive of me and disrespectful. Terrible way to conduct business. Buyers Beware! Here is proof this company is run by scam artists- When my trailer was returned to me, there was damage on the bumper. A while back i made a review on BBB calling out the malpractice of this company. The owner claimed the following: - Claimed they knew of pre-existing damage and showed me - Said i sent an invoice to them requesting large sum of money - Claimed they scheduled dates for technician to come out and that i declined request Attached are pictures of our conversation and as you can see the owner clearly had no idea what was going on and lacked communication. July 29th- Notified owner about bumper August 8th- received follow up, but nothing else August 29th- still no calls from technician or follow up, so i messaged owner. No reply. September 30th- asked owner for reimbursement. (Mind you i never got it repaired so his claim that i sent an invoice on a repair i never got was false) I did not know of the damage until after it was dropped off, nor did the owner. I never sent an invoice requesting a specific amount of money. I was ghosted for months and i can even provide proof that no technician ever called me. Finally i sent a text asking if it would be possible to be Zelled for the total costs (which i didnt know what that would be) to which he replied "you're nuts" The lack of communication and professionalism is apparent with this company so i would strongly avoid. He called me on the phone to talk about options he had and assumed I was looking for the least expensive option, which is not the case whatsoever and never what I presented to him. 2. The entire time we spoke on the phone, he was disgustingly blowing his nose over and over and hawking loogies. Super gross. 3. He really pushed a Class C motorhome on me (#41 to be exact) indicating that he has done this "for a long time and that's what I'd be happy with." We are new at this so I was open to the suggestion. 4. He sent me a link to #41 and quite honestly, it looked pretty low end and dated. The photos were extremely low quality, pixelated, and the motorhome appeared heavily used. I actually saw photos of it posted on here with rusty wheels just a month ago. Not our style. 5. I reached back out and mistakenly thought I was texting someone else about a trailer. When I realized it was Stress Free RVs - he began speaking negatively about the other business I thought I was texting. Big red flag. He then offered me a bunkhouse to rent instead for $999. 6. I honestly, and very politely, shared that my husband didn't like #41 and that it appeared dated. Which is 100% true. It also appears heavily used as I mentioned before. My exact message was: "Can you please send me a link to that or photos? My husband did not like the class c because he felt it looked dated. We are a little on the boujie side. Ha ha." 7. He took great offense to my message. He then wished us well in our search as if it was going to be difficult to find another option in better condition, which I am happy to report we found multiple. How this man conducted himself with a potential customer is How Not to Run a Business 101...Unprofessional and disgusting on the phone, pushing a product on us, assuming he knew my price point, too sensitive to accept that we did not like his product because it looks old, bashing another business, etc. No thanks!! However, why answer the phone if you're not willing to help customers or answer questions. But he went out of his way to excuse himself so he pick up his food order and I told him to take his time. Do not believe the fake 5 star reviews! This place is full of scam artists. I allowed my RV to be rented out by this business and agreed via phone call on a specific date on which it would be returned. The day of, I did not receive it, so the owner tried to gaslight me saying he said a different date instead! He then made and sent paperwork stating a later date. When the RV was finally returned to me, the rear bumper was very damaged and covered with a Twisted Tea box. The owner stated they would get a technician out to me but never did. The initial impression I got with SFRVs wasn't amazing, but it worked out in the end and my group had a great RV experience compared to some of the other RVs we were traveling with. The good: I rented the #33 Four Winds, it had a lot of room and seemed decently maintained, A/C worked great which was very important because we were in the Vegas desert. My group had 2 RVs from SFRVs (#33 & #42) and 2 RVs from Cruise America, gotta say the SF RVs blew the Cruise America RVs out of the water, the Cruise America RV were kind of dingy and one's AC kept cutting out. RV pick up and drop off was easy, a little out of the way (Sycuan Market) but the guy handling pick up and drop off was very friendly and helpful, got good vibes from him so was a little more confident in the rental after the issues we had below. The not-so-good: The initial issue was making a reservation on their website at a certain price, paying a deposit, and getting the balance later that day with the price suddenly $1000 more. We were renting this for EDC, and apparently they have different rates for special events but you have to message them for special event rates, they do not reflect special rates on their reservation site. The other issue is they do not offer insurance like most other RV rental companies, so you have to make sure your insurance offers insurance binders for rental RVs. Make sure you take care of this ahead of time, I found out Progressive doesn't offer this so had to scramble to figure out insurance. Communication with them was also slow, they took a while and a couple messages/calls sometimes to get responses. Summary: Great RVs, I would use SFRVs again, just had pricing and insurance issues but now that I know what to expect they shouldn't be issues for future reservations. read more

We rented with Stress Free last week on our trip to the Red Woods. Overall things went really well. The camper was clean and in good condition. The pick up experience was super easy. The owner, Mike, is always reachable on the phone as is his technician that he assigned to us. Communication was great. We were really late returning on the last day and they waited for us to drop off until way after dark without any complaint (we went to the wrong hotel downtown and then got stuck in traffic...ugh). We have rented with other places before and when you're flying across the country with 4 little kids, you need things to go smoothly. He quoted us one price then decided to tack on all of these additional extra charges that we never agreed upon 3 days before our trip- leaving us extremely stressed out to find another option in such a short period of time. I never ever go online to blast a small business, but the experience I had with Mike was shockingly bad. If you are thinking about doing business with this guy, run away. I booked a unit for an upcoming trip and 45 min later, found out my wife booked a unit earlier in the day (same unit as Mikes but $400 cheaper for the weekend). Totally our fault and I acknowledge that. Because I do not have a contract or agreement with Mike, I called him to cancel, (literally less than one hour after making the booking), and he is citing a cancellation policy that he never told me about, I didn't sign anything about, isn't on their site, and from what I can tell, is only internal that states no cancellations ever at any time. In addition, I can't begin to convey how incredibly rude he was about it. The guy is a real piece of work. Reality check Mike; a policy only matters if your customer knows about it and agrees to it. I rented a van from this company via Outdoorsy this past weekend (MDW) to go to a music festival with my fiancé. The initial pickup process was really easy and they allowed me to pick it up a little after closing time because I had other personal conflicts that prevented me from arriving before they closed at 5. The van we initially rented would not start the next morning once we went to go pack it up for a music festival. Panic set it... a technician came out to jump it and I drove it straight back to HQ. While I was waiting for the tech to come, I was in touch with Mike and he kindly price matched us to a new/upgraded rig. The new rig was way better than the one we originally rented. NOTE TO OTHERS: if you're going on a trip longer than a day or two, do NOT rent the Blackbird; the fridge is microscopic and there are 0 curtains on the van. Yes the windows are pretty tinted but seeing as we were going to the desert where it's 90° by 10am, curtains are crucial. It also does not have a generator built in! As I said, the second van we got was PERFECT for what we needed. The fridge seemed to have a mechanical error and it wouldn't work properly unless the van was running or the generator was on (it showed "E3" error), but other than that it was absolutely perfect for the two of us. I couldn't seem to get the WiFi to work, so luckily our friend's was working in his personal rig. The bed was comfy, the AC was cold, the shower was hot, and the automatic awning was really convenient. I can sort of understand some of these negative reviews but personally, we had a great experience and hope to rent the same van again for the same music festival next year! read more

Where do I start. Probably the worst experience I have had in my life. I reserved a brand new unit and the day before they switch me over to an old winnabego from the 1980s. I met them at a truck stop to pick it up and they were suppose to have it dropped off at the Stage coach camping grounds since they were charging me a $500 drop off fee and "waived" the insurance. now I'm driving this RV with no insurance on the road. When I asked about insurance they said it didn't need it which I thought was strange. we first got to the unit it has a horrible smell. I told their manager about it and he didn't believe me. Alex the handyman just stood around and looked really confused and barely spoke any English. He pulled out a can of Lysol and sprayed it into the air. It smelled like a sewer in there so clearly they were only trying to cover it up temporarily. We then checked the unit with Alex and the fridge did not work. he said the generator needed to be on for it to work. We waited about 15 minutes and still nothing. He assured us it would turn on. We take the RV and get to camp. it's about 100 plus degrees and the stinch is horrible. The fridge does not get cold so low all out groceries are getting ruined and now there is a propane hose thats busted and a couple neighbors came by and told us about this leak. i told the owner about it and he finally sends someone to replace the cracked propane leak. the entire are RV now smells like a propane tank and a sewer. I asked him to check out the RV to see if the generator is working he said yes it will just kick on once it's ready. never does. I call the owner and text him all day on Sunday to help us. We decide to move out and stay at a friends house. We leave keys on the counter and advise him to pick up his RV. A few days layer he sends a bill for 6k. I would not rent from this place. I own several business here in San Diego and I would never treat a customer like that. read more

In 27 hours the entire black water tank of one trailers exploded out of the bottom of the trailer, spilling human waist all over our outside belongings and our surrounding neighbors property as well. When we called to report this emergency the owner refused to take any of our phone calls and sent a message telling us he will send someone to fix the problem. The owner the proceeded to tell me that this was all user error and not to contact him anymore because he was at a family event. Then took a picture of himself and sent it to me unsolicited. During the time of the incident my family including our small children and 80 year old grandmother are outside from 7pm until 11:45pm waiting for a place to sleep. Then the company showed up with a old class C that smelled of urine and mildew with tears in the seats and paint scratched off the walls, with a septic tank 3/4 full. Mind you we are only 27 hours into our trip! This forced us to sleep in our family members tent for the remainder of our vacation. Our trip concluded and the 2 security deposits for both units were not refunded and we have received a bill for roughly $13,000 blaming us for an "overflowing tank". Which is impossible to fill in 27 hours. While I am certain Mike will respond to this review just as he did the other negative reviews, take no accountability and pass blame on to the renter, by posting this I am only hoping to help other people not get scammed and understand that this is how his business is operated. It's deplorable that we are being threatened with collections and legal action if we do not pay for damages that we did not and could not have created in 27 hours. We are hard working family. Used this company to rent multiple RVs for Stagecoach. None of thier Air Conditioning worked, which, when its 110 degrees can be life or death. We ended up having to stay with our friends and not even at the RV campground. One of them was so poorly di·lap·i·dat·ed that almost everything you can imagine was breaking after light use. On top of this we couldn't get ahold of someone to troubleshoot with us or even be on the phone to talk with us = poor customer service. If they are free to rent, don't take em. He pulled a bait and switch, sending us a confirmation for the 1.5 bathroom trailer we paid for then delivering a 1 bathroom trainer claiming it was better trailer. SCUM. The people that run this RV company are truly awful. They run a scheme where they gain access to your credit card to charge you for fake "damages." For instance, the cost of replacing a cleaning a sheet is $250. The cost of cleaning a curtain $250. I never ran the air conditioning, but they still charged a $500 fee claiming that I did. Their total cost to clean their RV's is actually $1,200. Anything they tell you is not true, and they are excited to screw anyone as that is how they make their money. Just look at the other review... there are several others who have endured the same nonsense claims that "Stresss Free RV's" has provided. Steer clear...my friends and I chipped in to rent a few RVs from this place for Stagecoach, and we would've been better off sleeping on the bare ground. All the things we were told would be included (working AC, working fridge, clean environment, etc) were NOT the case. We were absolutely ROASTING in 110+ degree weather with no way to escape since our RV was basically an oven. We didn't even want to use it 99% of the time because most things were already broken or poorly assembled so if we even touched it they would fall apart!! This was my first time renting a travel trailer, and the team at Stress Free RVs helped make sure that we had a perfect vacation. We searched across a handful of different rental sites where other owners list their trailers and had two separate reservations canceled before finding Mike's unit. Thankfully he replied and included his company name, so we searched google and realized we could save several hundred dollars by booking directly on the Stress Free RVs website. I called Mike and asked many questions before booking, letting him know where we were going and that we didn't have any experience at all. He made sure we had all the info we needed and gave us the full white-glove service. The trailer was pretty much brand new! It had all the basics included; the toilet paper rolls were still wrapped in their packaging, and Mike spent about an hour doing the walkthrough showing us everything there is to know and how it all worked. It was a lot to take in, honestly. Still, he also left us with some notes, like a cheat sheet, and gave us links to videos for reference, which we did end up watching, especially the interior walkthrough video. *BEWARE* HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE My wife and I rented an RV from Stress Free RV for our summer vacation at Camp Land San Diego. Upon arrival (7/6/22 approximately 3 PM PST), I took a video of the overall condition of the outside of the trailer, before moving inside to take a video. I do this anytime we stay at a rental to keep everyone honest. As soon as we opened the door to go inside, we noticed water all over the floor coming from the A/C unit. Keep in mind, the A/C unit was running from the company setting the trailer up (we paid for the drop off service and hookups). I walked through the rest of the RV filming and noticed it was dirty and did not look like anyone had cleaned it between rentals (BLACK MOLD on A/C unit vents) I also noticed a cell phone that was left on the beds by the previous occupant with a lost phone notice displayed. My wife came into the unit and immediately called Stress Free to let them know about the bad water leak from the A/C unit. This can be heard on my video of the unit leaking water. Additionally, while trying to clean up the water, we noticed that the supply bin provided by Stress Free RV did not have trash bags, only 1 roll of toilet paper (and a half-used roll in one of the bathrooms, the other bathroom had none), and no paper towels. We ended up having to use our own beach towels to dry up the water. My wife spent 3-4 hours at the start of our vacation cleaning a trailer that they advertise is cleaned to "Covid19 Compliance." Stress Free said they would send a technician to fix the A/C water leak and bring the missing supplies that are complimentary provided. Never once did they say we would be charged for having one of their staff come to fix THEIR A/C UNIT. The tech did not show up until the next day, even though we were promised they would arrive later that evening (resulting in having to sleep with the A/C unit off). When the tech looked at the A/C unit, he said there was debris in the drain line blocking the condensation drain causing the water to come into the trailer (100% not our fault). He also brought us a new bin with the missing supplies and extra toilet paper. After the trip was over, we documented the condition of the trailer (which was cleaner than we arrived) and filled the propane tank (even though it was ¾ empty when we arrived). The company did their inspection and returned our security deposit noting a fully paid invoice and no additional charges. My wife contacted the company and told them how displeased we were with the condition of the RV and the water leak / missing supplies. The owner was RUDE, dismissive, and placed all the blame on us. He also accused us of manipulating time stamps on videos and photos we sent showing the dirty condition of the trailer. Once we were told there would be no remedy to the issues via a credit or partial refund, we decided to leave a negative review on Yelp. The owner then sent my wife an email/text at almost 1 AM PST accusing us of creating photos of urine on the seat and never even acknowledged the video of the A/C unit leak. Last night, the owner sent us another invoice saying we have additional charges we owe them for a service technician, supplies, and some unknown technology charge that wasn't on any of our previous agreements. This company has TERRIBLE BUSINESS PRACTICES and is now trying to extort / punish us for leaving a bad review by attempting to bill us for items / services that were never discussed or agreed upon. As someone who works with many different types of people, personalities, and outside vendors, working with Stress Free RVs has been one of the worst experiences. Terrible customer service once you've paid. The first conversation was extremely promising, and once there were problems with the RV onsite, the owner Mike was unresponsive. Their customer service post-payment was a nightmare. When he did finally respond, it was with a level of rudeness and deflection that left a sour taste. Extremely disappointed and highly advise to look elsewhere if you need an RV and want a company that is reliable. read more
