2021 Meerkat
Sonya A.

I can't tell you how much I love these guys enough. This review is on purchasing the Meerkat camper trailer. These Meerkat trailers are built-to-order, so they make you aware of the lead time involved, but they are absolutely worth the wait. We had strict non-negotiables when it came to buying a trailer. We didn't want to replace our cars. We wanted tiny, but with the kitchenette on the inside because we didn't want to run out first thing in the am for coffee outside (like a teardrop). We wanted seating and a bed (unlike most teardrops). And it has to be storable in our garage. A big order? Hell yeah! And for that and many many other reasons, the price tag was still reasonable for us, including they hold their value like crazy. They save us so much in gas. We literally fit anywhere. We don't pack as much stuff we don't need. It's customizable to fit our needs, because of the all wood built ins. So here are the stats: The dining area converts to a queen sized bed. Inside Width: 58" Fender to Fender Width: 60" Inside Height: 73" Exterior Height (open): 88" Exterior Height (closed): 77" Overall Length: 13" Inside Length: 9'6" Receiver Size: None GAWR (Axle Rating): 2000 lbs. Rim Type: Steel Stone Guard: Yes Frame Type: Steel Curb Weight: 900lb Tongue Weight: 100 lbs. Mattress Size: 59" x 70/81" Tire Size: 175/80/D13 Now on to the service. Sean was our sales rep during this process and he was just AMAZING! We were the hang ups in the sale and not him one bit. The patience he had with us was legendary haha. But in all seriousness, we appreciate all his help, especially talking through text, as millennial who has a hard time talking on the phone.. yea weird I know. One little side note, what we also got with the Meerkat was a phenomenal community. Over on Facebook Meerkat owners and fans have a fantastic, active group of enthusiast sharing a wealth of camping knowledge and a bonding love for our campers. That was unexpected and seriously a highlight for me. Camper trailer: 10/5, the quality is fantastic. Not one piece feels wobbly or cheap. The attention to detail in the design and the build out is top of the line and blows others out of the water, bar none. Price tag: 5/5, really? $20K, you may ask.. but yes. Small operation, made in the USA, exactly what we need. Yes, worth every penny. Service: 5/5 Also want to see our Meerkat in action? Follow us at Instagram.com/isaacswanderingmotel

Five stars for the amazing team at Little Guy Trailers! We are in love with our little Meerkat trailer. These guys know how to make their customers happy. They worked with us every step of the way in making our little trailer a dream come true. Highly recommend!

Bought a 10 foot, off-road Aliner in July of 2016. Staff was very helpful and courteous. We have been pleased with this trailer. Unfortunately, the tongue weight information on the trailer was not adequately explained by the staff. The listed tongue weight (238 lbs) did not include the propane tanks or battery, which were on the trailer when we bought it. Getting the tongue weight to 250 lbs is a challenge.

The sales people are thorough, and the Meerkat is a great option that I hope to purchase soon.

We just bought a used RV so I went to work to make sure everything worked properly. Part of that…read moreinvolved tuning up the cam locks that secure the exterior compartments. I decided to clean, lube & adjust them all. Some were rough to turn, some were missing nuts & some could be rotated with or without the keys, opening them in either case. This needed to be repaired. Having trouble finding replacement parts I asked for help on Nextdoor & many people contributed their thoughts & advice. That was sincerely appreciated. This process made me aware of how difficult it was to find certain parts. Consider this case of the missing nut. I have the measurement tools that told me the nut on the back of my cam latch was either 18.5 mm with a pitch very close to 1.0 mm or 3/4"-24 in the Imperial realm. With great difficulty even the best I could find in metric were 19 mm nuts but even then they were the wrong pitch. Finding a 3/4"-24 nut was much easier . . . on paper. Clearly the nut was a "standard" product but where to get it from, hmm. I contacted these hardware sources, some from past experience & some from people's advice: Ababa Bolt, Ace Hardware, AliExpress, Amazon, eBay, Grainger, Home Depot, Lowe's, Marshall's Industrial Hardware, McMaster-Carr, Mesa Fastener, Pell-Mell Supply, TruValue Hardware & United Fastener. I had initially contacted J.R. Products, the manufacturer of the cam lock, but they would only sell me an entire new latch for about $11 each. If I replaced all 15 that would cost me a little under $200 with tax & shipping. I then called these RV places seeking some 3/4"-24 nuts: A1 RV Repairs, County RV Service, eTrailer, Overland RV, RV Trailer Supply, San Diego Trailer Supply & South Coast RV. Without exception they told me I'd have to buy all new cam locks & no one would sell me just the nut required for the latches without them. As I scanned my Yelp list of RV places I noticed one place I hadn't called happened to be the closest one to my home. I hadn't called them before because they were a long way down the list & the further I went down that list, the greater my frustration & hopelessness levels grew. I thought "What the hell! They're very close!" I called & spoke with Gary Weissenberg who has owned "Hit The Road RV" for 20 years. It is behind the Dairy Queen (and one building South) in Allied Gardens. He is one of those guys who answers the phone casually so I wasn't sure I'd reached a business. I asked & he confirmed I was talking with "Hit The Road RV". I asked if they carried parts & he said "Some. What do you need?". I told him I needed ten 3/4"-24 nuts & why I need them. He told me "Usually you have to buy the whole new cam lock but let me see what I can do." I heard him shuffling through drawers & he came back to the phone & told me sure enough he had ten of them though not new. "Fine with me" I said, "I'll be by soon." He reminded me to bring in a cam lock so we could test them to be sure. Before I hung up I asked how much they would be. He said "I'll probably never use them. You can have them." When I arrived he greeted me warmly. I found myself not in a pristine business but in the work area of a guy who dedicates himself to his work & taking care of his clients & their vehicles rather than having a glitzy store. Despite his reluctance to be paid, I was able to pay him a paltry amount for his efforts & kindness. I only paid him $10 but if this heartfelt recommendation falls on fertile ground perhaps he will benefit with some more business. One can only hope. Needless to say he has my recommendation and, at the worst, I alone will be his dedicated new customer. Feeling pretty happy I stopped at the Dairy Queen across the parking lot & treated myself to a small vanilla, chocolate dipped cone. I ordered the small & immediately wished I had ordered the Junior (smaller). As a habit I asked if they gave any discounts to ex-military and/or old farts. The young man at the window had no idea but he looked about inside & turning back to me said "Sure, why not?" & knocked off a buck. My day was getting better by the minute now. Behind me in line was a Mom in her US Marine Corps uniform ferreting through her purse to find money to buy ice cream for her two young kids. With the rosy glow I had & the milk of human kindness currently coursing through my veins I said "Order what ever you want because I am paying! Thank you for your service." They were all very happy. Her two grateful kids, both with impeccable manners, noted I paid with my usual $2 bills which they had never seen before. I gave each kid one, told them what a hero their Mom was & bid them all adieu. I thought "Could my day possibly get any better?" It could! When I got home Gayle was there just doing everyday stuff. Dave out P.S. I learned many RVs use the same locks with the same key so there's not a lot of security there. Remember that & consider upgrading yours. Gary can do it for you if you can't or don't want to.

Henry's Trailers absolutely earned this one. These guys are on a completely different level than…read moreany other trailer shop I've dealt with. They handled everything start to finish, towing, diagnosing the issue, and fixing it the right way the first time. No runaround, no guessing, and no "band-aid" fixes like you get from most places. They actually explain what's going on so you understand your trailer and feel confident when you leave. You can tell they know trailers inside and out. They had parts in stock that other shops told me would take days or weeks, and the turnaround time was way faster than expected. If you care about doing it once and doing it right, this is the place. Whether it's a basic repair or something more complex, they've got it handled. Highly recommend Henry's Trailers. I won't be going anywhere else.

Just finished what I would consider a horrible experience with Henry's trailer. Dropped my trailer…read moreoff in the beginning of the week. I stressed to Holly that because it had been sold I needed it done by Friday. She said no problem and quoted me right at $1460 CASH and said that it would be ready for me by Friday. I called later in the week to confirm that it would be ready and then was told that there would be a small "rush" fee and the trailer would be done by Thursday. Now please understand I NEVER said I needed my trailer early, I just needed it done by the date that had been promised to me when the qoute was given to me. When I showed up Thursday to pick it up the owners were no where to found but the worker there told me to get my trailer I would have to pay over $1940 in cash. I was desperate to get my trailer so I paid the $1940 in cash and went on my way. What happened next was unreal, now keep in mind I am a very easygoing non confrontative person who has NEVER left a bad review on anyone but felt that what happened to me was unfair and that I was spoke to disrespectfully , so I left a review that I felt was honest on google. If they had just acknowledged my complaint I was planning on removing the review as I did not want to hurt anyone, especially what appeared to me to be a family run repair shop. It did not end there. Henry's trailer then called me entitled, ungrateful and untruthful on google. Then today, my wife called me in tears to tell me that Henry's trailer was going to file a law suit if I did not remove the review and I could be fined up to $43,792. I was worried about how upset my wife was so I drove directly home. There was a letter that was duct taped to my door from Midway Law Firm that said they had been instructed by Henry's trailer to "immediately and aggressively file a law suit in Superior Court against us beacuse I left a bad review that was false amd malicious. The same letter was left in an unmarked envelope in my mail box with my misspelled name and misspelled address hand written on the front. I am trying really hard not to be vindictive but just give an honest opinion from my perspective of dealing with Holly. They seem to do good work but make sure that you get several quotes from the different trailer repair facility all whom do great work.
