We bought a new 2025 Intech Sol Horizon trailer. Very happy with the whole experience. Totally recommend you shop with Little Guy Trailers. A completely different and much better experience than at other dealerships that sell travel trailers. And a plus is they only sell high quality trailers. We looked at other large dealerships that were very high pressure sales, they carried a lot of low end products and you had to sign in with all your personal contact info before they would escort you around the lot. I can't tell you how much I love these guys enough. This review is on purchasing the Meerkat camper trailer. These Meerkat trailers are built-to-order, so they make you aware of the lead time involved, but they are absolutely worth the wait. We had strict non-negotiables when it came to buying a trailer. We didn't want to replace our cars. We wanted tiny, but with the kitchenette on the inside because we didn't want to run out first thing in the am for coffee outside (like a teardrop). We wanted seating and a bed (unlike most teardrops). And it has to be storable in our garage. A big order? Hell yeah! And for that and many many other reasons, the price tag was still reasonable for us, including they hold their value like crazy. They save us so much in gas. We literally fit anywhere. We don't pack as much stuff we don't need. It's customizable to fit our needs, because of the all wood built ins. So here are the stats: The dining area converts to a queen sized bed. Mark the owner is a good guy but I believe he may have grown too much. I went in to ask about selling my trailer and getting it fixed. He tried to upsell me an $18000 trailer, yes $18000. His associate told me I could pull it with a fiat which I then researched not to be true. They told me my Aliner Sport could be bought in and they would give me $3900. I sold it privately as is for $7800 within 24 hours. Be careful of up selling. I won't go back. I bought my trailer here 8 years ago, it makes me sad. Stay true to yourself Mark. read more

You asked for a comparison of the MeerKat Trailer to other trailers available on the market - the pros & cons, what owners would change, and so on. I was the admin who removed the post from the Club site because this is not the purpose of our club. There are lots of websites available to get this information, but this is not our club's purpose. We are an independent site made up of mostly trailer owners, and welcome participation of our friends at Little Guy Trailers (LGT). LGT does have their own business website showing the MeerKat Trailer, as well as other brands they carry in the small trailer sector. The purpose of our site is for owners and enthusiasts to share camping experiences, show customizations of these sweet MeerKat Trailers, and to answer questions about MeerKat related things like where to mount a bike rack, etc. Obviously your low rating was as a result of thinking LGT was trying to hide something, but it was your misunderstanding of the intent of our site - campers sharing experiences camping. Do NOT come here to buy or service your RV. The owner is possibly a racist, definitely a liar, and he is not going to fix your RV when it breaks. We have a NuCamp (purchased before we moved to LA) that's still under warranty and needed some repairs. We love supporting small businesses, so we were excited to find Little Guy. We called and spoke to one of the techs (who were consistently great throughout this process) and described the problem. He said it might take a couple of weeks to fix, depending on the severity, and gave us an appointment slot a month out. So far so good! A few days before our appointment, our jack broke. We called again and spoke with another tech. He was super helpful; he gave us tips to get it fixed enough to make the trip to the shop and said they should be able to fix it. Great! A few days later, we were able to fix it enough to make the 2 hour drive to the shop. Once we limped in, we went over the issues in detail with the tech we'd originally spoken to. He seemed to think it was all doable, took our keys, and we drove off. At this point, we love this place! Here's where it gets weird. About 10 minutes later, we get a call saying that they can't actually fix any of these issues and we have to come get our trailer and take it somewhere else. What? When we get back, the owner comes out and tells us that he's actually a dealer, not a service provider and they can't do any of this service. So we ask why they scheduled a service a month ago and confirmed it a few day ago if they couldn't actually do the service. The owner said the tech was new and didn't know what he was talking about when he told us that they could fix our issues (the tech had told us earlier that he was the owner's son and had worked there on and off for 19 years, so not only was the owner obviously lying, after 19 years, that tech should have a pretty good idea of what they can and can't handle at the shop). At this point, we were pretty upset, and our jack was broken so we couldn't even drive home, so we asked if they could just fix the jack. At first, the owner said no, it would take weeks to get the part and he wouldn't keep our trailer while he waited for it to come in (what kind of service place doesn't keep the trailer while the service is being done?). We pushed, and he said he could sell us a new jack for $120. After a significant amount of time arguing, he went into the back and came out with a perfectly functional used jack, which he gave us. So he was also lying about not having the part. Throughout this process, his story kept changing, with multiple bogus excuses for why he couldn't just do the service on our trailer. None of them made any sense, and at this point, I wouldn't have trusted him with our trailer even if he had suddenly pulled all of the parts out of the back. To summarize: Do not use this dealer to purchase or service your RV. Even if they seem great on the phone, don't trust them because you will wait a month for your appointment and then drive 2 hours only to have them tell you they don't do service and you need to go somewhere else. read more

Bought a 10 foot, off-road Aliner in July of 2016. Staff was very helpful and courteous. We have been pleased with this trailer. Unfortunately, the tongue weight information on the trailer was not adequately explained by the staff. The listed tongue weight (238 lbs) did not include the propane tanks or battery, which were on the trailer when we bought it. Getting the tongue weight to 250 lbs is a challenge. read more

Huge disappointment with their salesmanship and communication. I went here specifically to purchase a Meerkat trailer. I visited their showroom to order one and was told there would be a year wait because the demand was so high. Okay, this was in year one of lockdowns so I decided I could wait. Pulled out my credit card to make a deposit and was told that there was a surcharge using credit here. A month before the year was up I decide to contact them and see when I could be expecting delivery on my trailer. I was told it might be another couple of months. No reason given. Another month goes by and I contacted them by e-mail for an update and they responded there would be another delay was because of a DOT issue they had to correct but trailers are being manufactured now. They also mentioned the price I was quoted would be honored. Hmmm? I should hope so. Another month goes by and I once again go into the showroom to be told now that they are having supply chain issues with birchwood from Russia & China and it will be another 2 months! They assured me, again, that my price was guaranteed even though their costs had risen considerably. They said they would get back to me within the next day to see if they could expedite the process. At this point I realized that perhaps they were trying to get me to back out of the deal so they could sell it for a higher price! When I decided not to follow through with my deal I went back to the showroom for a refund of my deposit. Neither one of the two men asked me any questions, they seemed unfazed and processed my refund. If they are this uncommunicative before I receive my trailer, how would they be after I drove away? The Meerkat is tiny and could be perfect for solo campers but not worth endless delays for delivery. read more

I don't write many Yelp reviews. It's either really good or really bad. In this case, it's the absolute best. I needed a small trailer that would fit in my garage. There was only one that would get in there and also have the ability to stand up inside. That's the Meerkat. We don't camp much (but it was awesome when we did). The trailer was a spare bedroom for my son from ages 10-12. It felt like a fort. All his buddies were jealous. Let me say a word about Mark from the shop in San Diego. Super friendly. Super helpful. He even waited around after hours when I got caught in traffic. I towed the trailer easily behind my mini van and also behind my Jeep. Couldn't be easier. I can't recommend these guys enough. This review is generated in response to how they manage their Facebook "Meerkat Trailer Club" page, which is throwing up a red flag about their confidence in their own product and their customer service. Like any buyer I wanted to do some research by hearing from current owners; however, I made a very innocuous post that they apparently didn't like. I posted that I was looking forward to seeing a Meerkat trailer in person and wanted to know what current owners liked and what they would change about it. That's it. They kicked me out promptly thereafter. Seems like quite the overreaction to a simple post. What do they have to hide? I cannot help but think the problems with the Meerkat must be pretty significant if such a simple post triggers censorship, and if this is how they handle potential buyers, I am not very optimistic about how they will treat people after you've bought their product. For a garage-sized, expandable trailer, with impeccable quality and design, the Alto R1713/23 series created by Safari Condo seems to be the way to go... read more

This is a long one. Hopefully worth reading if you plan to do business with Little Guy Trailers. My wife and I have been tent campers for many years but with advancing age we decided to move up to a camping trailer. After what seemed like weeks of on-line research, we settled on a "cute" teardrop style one made by NuCamp called the T@B 320CS/S. Now we began what turned out to be an arduous task to buy one. NuCamp sells their campers through a short list of independent dealers across the country. The "local" dealer for us was Little Guy Trailers located in San Diego, a 45 minute drive from where we live. We contacted Little Guy Trailers in July 2020 to check that they had the model we want on display. Turns out they don't actually have display units. I was told that we could look at a unit that was waiting for customer pick up. Since we had little choice except buying one sight unseen, we told the salesman to contact us when they had one. We got a call a few weeks later that we could see one on so we made an September 9. On the appointed day we had a hard time finding Little Guy Trailers since it was in the back of a non-descript office park. When we finally found the door, we were greeted by the salesman we had talked to who quickly rushed back to his desk to get a mask when he saw we were masked. Every other employee that we saw was maskless. Not a good start to our visit since these people interact with strangers all day, every day and we are not young and have health issues. After an exchange of pleasantries, he told us that he didn't have our exact model to show us but had a T@B400 waiting for pick up that we could look at. You must be kidding. The T@B400 has an inside galley; the T@B 320 CS/S has an outside galley, an important feature for us. It felt really creepy looking around the unit, like we were breaking into someone's house when they were out of town. We were left with virtually no option to see the actual model we wanted except fly to a dealer located 1000 miles away. With misgivings, we decide to order the T@B 320 CS/S from them. We met with the sales manager and when asked about the warranty and service on the camper, he tells us there is a warranty but he did not have a copy. For warranty repairs, he told us they use an un-named third party. Our anxiety skyrockets ; no warranty to read, no service department and we will be spending $30K+. We should have walked out but we didn't. We place the order on September 9 for delivery mid-December. We checkback in November and I ask again about the written warranty and he says they don't have one but he would look into it. I come to the conclusion that they will never provide a written warranty to us and with a few clicks find it on the NuCamp website. Really? He says to call back in January for a delivery date. We check in January; call back in March. We check back in March and he says April. The salesman contacts us in early April that it shipped on April 11 from NuCamp and will arrive around April 18. Now the real trouble begins. We request they inspect the trailer using the NuCamp Customer Delivery and Warranty Registration Form. No sense driving 45 minutes if it doesn't pass inspection. NuCamp advizes customers in their manual (page 6) not to accept delivery if the NuCamp Delivery and Warranty Registration Form is not provided. The salesman sends us an abbreviated check list they use instead of the one from NuCamp. He says that he and others have never seen the NuCamp inspection form. With a few clicks, we send the NuCamp form to the salesman. He then sends it back but with several important items not checked. We send a list of the items they missed and ask them to perform them. A couple of big ones were left out including leak testing the LP system and testing the plumbing using city water pressure. We then get this email from the owner of the company, Mark Hagen; "We do our standard pre check inspection before delivery. The dealer will not sign off on a special form or perform checks that are not regularly done. We do not want you to feel pressured or pushed into accepting a trailer. We would be fine refunding your deposit and cancelling the deal. We would also be fine with you taking the trailer to an independent repair facility to complete any additional pre delivery inspection you would like done. This would be at your expense. Ultimately, we just want you satisfied with your purchase. Please let us know how you want to proceed." Give us a break. We only wanted Little Guy Trailers to inspect the trailer properly. We came to the conclusion that there was too much risk to accept the camper. Incomplete safety checks. No dealer service department. Poor dealer attitude. We cancel the order. It is now eight months since we started this little adventure and we are back to square one looking at RVs. We love camping but we are not going back to a tent or to Little Guy Trailers. read more

After spending a considerable amount of time researching trailers that can be stored in a standard garage, I decided to look at the MeerKat. A complete disappointment. There are zero built in features: no fresh water tank, no grey water tank (you provide your own bucket for the sink !), no stove, no propane tank, no fridge, no heater. There is a battery for lights and fan. The cushions are uncomfortable and I would never use them to sleep on. Given the complete lack of useful features, the MeerKat is horrendously over priced. Compared to the other trailers that can be stored in a garage, this one rates at the bottom, or frankly doesn't rate at all. Don't waste your time. read more

A friend of mine has been into travel trailers for years. I've often envied her as she would roll up to a campsite and crack open a beer before I've even unwrapped my tent. Sleeping in comfort has gotten more important to me since I've gotten old(er), so eventually, I got a truckbed tent and an inflatable mattress. It worked great, but alas, whenever I wanted to drive into town to get provisions or explore, I had to tear down my tent and basically break camp. What was I to do? I saw Eric out at Mission Valley Mall showcasing a T@B and a 5-Wide. The T@B really caught my eye, but I was surprisingly impressed with a Little Guy (LG) trailer. It really stuck in the back of my mind. Months later, I was feeling the call of the wild, but didn't want to deal with tenting it anymore. I remembered the LG and made my way to the dealership. I saw want I wanted and Eric & company made me a deal. While it was a great deal, I just didn't want to get a loan and into debt again. It had taken me years to get out of the hole! I was really struggling. I thought I'd check out to see what was out there for a used LG. Turns out, there was a 4-Wide being sold within a reasonable distance. And the price...shoot, I had cash on hand for it! The previous owner had done some modifications on it, which was nice, but I needed it to go further. I felt somewhat guilty about going back to Little Guy since it was only just a week before I was working with them to buy a new trailer. This used trailer wasn't exactly what I wanted, but I figured I could see if owning one of these little trailers was something I could live with. I figured I could, but needed some help. Enter Little Guy San Diego. Even though I didn't buy from them, I had them do some modifications, like change the 4-pin plug to a 7-blade, allowing to charge the previous owner-added battery off the towing vehicle. I had them install deadbolt locks, so I could secure myself inside at night. I had them custom install a spare tire holder, so I had something "just in case". And to top it all off (for this month), I will have them install a Stargazer window and customized blinds. After that, I think I'm done until next year. I'm really grateful that they have been so helpful, even though I didn't buy my trailer from them. The trailer itself is pretty much everything I could've wanted. It's comfortable, easy to tow, and trouble free. Sure, it's not the newest and didn't have all the cool gadgetry I initially wanted. But now, people are envying ME when I roll up and crack open that beer and watch THEM mess with a tent! HA! I may eventually trade this in and get the 5-Wide I wanted. Or not. I might have it lifted a bit, put bigger tires on, and weld on a pintle hitch. Then, for the most part, it'll be able to tackle the offroad & camping I'd like to do. Until then, I'm just going to enjoy getting out of town as many weekends as I can. read more

I was assured they had already ordered the part and would fix it in a couple weeks when the part arrived. That was over 6 months ago and they do not even respond to emails about functional issues much less the repair. My wife and I just bought our Meerkat, and Eric did such a stellar job of helping us get the yellow stripes trim, with a silver/gray top we wanted, and he even set up the appointment to get the right trailer hitch installed on my little Toyota Tacoma. We even had an issue with the fact that somehow the electric plug wasn't set right, and upon driving home it dragged the freeway and got scratched up and was shorting out, and the very next day, even though we're 107 miles away, they had someone come by and replace the electric chord! Absolutely Stellar customer support / service!!! We are SSSSOOOO glad we finally got the trailer of our dreams, which we've been wanting a long time, and this Meerkat is perfect for our needs. read more

Mark Hagen and son Sean are terrific! They graciously took my 2014 trailer in their shop on consignment and sold it for me handling all of the details. Prior to this, I was having a very poor response advertising it myself on Craigslist. I'm very happy with the outcome; they were extremely professional, honest and trustworthy. They have excellent communication skills, and advised me of all of the offers on my particular unit for sale. They called me in advance to discuss the sale details and advised me of all the offers, pending my approval to proceed. After the sale they mailed me a check for the amount we agreed upon.... Very easy. They have a beautiful showroom down in San Diego with a marvelous collection of trailers and campers ranging in all sizes for every budget. I was really impressed with the time they took to show me around and explain the features of each model. If I were looking to purchase a small trailer these would be the first people I would think of calling. I know that I couldn't have done a better job selling this privately myself. Phoenix people, I would avoid Tom's Camperland at all costs and drive to see Little Guy Trailers in San Diego! I answered a Craigslist Ad for a used car that was being sold out of Little Guy Trailers. I met the salesman "Ray" there at Little Guy and ended up buying the car. Little Guy Trailers completed the paperwork and I was on my way. All of Ray's promises were lies, as the transmission let go on the way home and needed to be replaced. He made more promises that he would send money towards the repair and never did. He won't answer his phone or texts and therefore, I felt it necessary to leave a review. Shady sales going on out of Little Guy trailers and a salesman named Ray there cannot be trusted. Ray also sells cars out of Cielo Auto Sales in San Diego, beware. read more

Wow, I wished that we would have read these other reviews before we drove down to LITTLE GUY TRAILERS. Our experience was bad as well. We first went down there to check out their stock. We ended up being interested in an Aliner. The saleman was helpful in the beginning, but then took a call and was not at all interested in our business..............I guess. We walked around waiting for him to finish the call, then stood near him hoping that he would get off the phone to answer some questions. After about 15 min. of waiting, we left and decided to take our business eslewhere. Which we did. We ended up purchasing one in Phoenix. We brought it back to Orange County and realized that it needed some work under waranty. We called LITTLE GUY TRAILER to inquire about servicing our Aliner. One of our concerns was about one of the roof latches not latching. He told us that you really needed to force the latches to get them to work at times. Really? That's not what the salesman told us when we were there looking at their Aliners, and YOUTUBE shows how simple it is to assemble as well. So we asked them, "Can we bring it in to have it looked at?" He told us that we should have purchased it from them. He then told us to take it back to Phoenix for servicing. I guess that it is good that we walked away from purchasing from them because we now realize how unprofessional they are. They said on one of their responses to another person that THEY DON'T NEED THE MONEY. Good thing because reviews such as this are going to send people elsewhere. We can't say enough about the professionalism of the staff at Little Guy. We drove down from LA just to take a peek. Short story is we drove away with a MeerKat which they build themselves. What a well designed and meticulously made trailer. The pride of craftsmanship was obvious. Never once did they pressure my wife and I to buy. They were enthusiastic and explained everything in detail. It was quite busy and occasionally they'd have to jump briefly to another customer but they'd circle back to see how we were doing. Mark the owner, his son Sean, and Paul looked like pinballs trying to keep everyone satisfied. When it slowed down a bit Paul went to Starbucks and got us coffee. What? I see there's a couple poor reviews here. I can't imagine. We never had so much fun buying a large ticket item. Paul even called us later that day to make sure we got home okay and if we had any questions that came up while driving home. Lastly their showroom was well stocked. It was truly like being in a trailer candy store. It's so nice to meet people who care about their customers and let the sale be a natural process without the typical sales shtick that's often the norm. Five Stars and then some. read more
