We started our RV purchase journey about 3 months ago with another Dealership out of Orange County. They were nice enough, but just couldn't make the numbers work with our financed Trade-In. Zero Expectations: On a sort of whim (we knew there was a show coming to Mission Valley but our schedule was pretty busy and we kept forgetting about it), we were in the area and stopped by the RV Super show. We walked around for about 45 minutes looking at several models (Travel trailers) with zero expectations. We were about to leave when a sales person named Bonnie approached us. She was very nice, no hard or ingenuine sales techniques, and struck up a conversation with us asking a few questions about our camping lifestyle and what we were looking for. She showed us one of the Trailers that we had looked at a few minutes before and we chatted about the amenities and size that we had been looking at up in OC. We explained our situation, that we had outstanding credit, but had a trade in with a balance and knew that we'd be "upside down" by about 3k and that just didn't sit well with us. Keep in mind, the other dealership also knew our situation and what our comfort level was in terms of making the numbers work and landing at a comfortable payment, but they just couldn't, or wouldn't do it. In all transparency, we knew that it being the last day of the show and end of the 2023 model year that there would be a little wiggle room with pricing, just as there is when car dealerships are trying to move out last years models. So, with our excellent credit rating and a a nice discount off of the sales price they were able to make the numbers work! We are now the proud owners of a new Grand Design Imagine 2023 Travel Trailer. The whole process, start to finish, took about an hour and a half (on site at the stadium). Shout out to the Team: As someone who works in Management and Operations I typically have pretty high expectations of others and this team exceeded all of them! From Michael, the on site General Manager, to Bonnie our sales person with a great smile and fun personality, to the finance Department (Martin? I hope Great guy nonetheless), and George, who familiarized us with a thorough walk thru of the Trailer at pick up time, the process was professional, welcoming and painless. What a winning Team!!PS to Blue Compass Corporate-Save a tree or two and streamline the process. Take the leap from Paper contracts to Digital Documents, you save finance a bunch of time and the planet a bunch of waste. Picking up our new Trailer: We scheduled our walk thru for 10 days later (at the Santee site) and they literally had the Blue Carpet and velvet ropes out in front of our Trailer for a true VIP experience. George walked us though the trailer inside and out (super informative and knowledgeable person), and Bonnie dropped off a welcome basket with thank you note and a smores making kit. The Take Away: My husband and I couldn't be happier. We took it for a test run for the weekend at Santee Lakes (great RV resort-like park) and really love the trailer and all of the amenities. This was a serious trade up from our 14 Ft hybrid Travel trailer to a 26.1 foot beauty that's easy to pull and gives us the total glamping and camping experience we so wanted. We have set up 2 more trips in the next few months and we have full confidence in the trailer that we bought through the amazing team at Holland/Blue Compass RV. Noice! read more

DO YOURSELVES A FAVOR AND SHOP ANYWHERE ELSE BUT HERE! If I could give them negative stars I would. These people do not care about your wants or needs they aren't trying to accommodate you they are just looking to cash out! I came here completely inexperienced not knowing much about rvs and I was under the impression that they were giving me the best deal possible. I explained to them I needed an rv for a family of 4 and that we were looking for something with enough space for all of us. Never once did they show me a fifth wheel trailer with a toy hauler room and 2 bathrooms which would've been perfect for my family! I ended up buying what I thought was great travel trailer rv for us but I was completely wrong and got screwed over. At first it seemed spacious enough for us but after living in this thing for a little over a year now and it is one of my biggest regrets! We bought a 2025 rv and we have barely been living in it for a little over 1 year and it's already falling apart. I can touch the roof without even fully extending my arms. The shelves and cupboards are falling apart. The kitchen is tiny there is no counter space and the refrigerator is already broken. They made this with cheapest parts possible. Theres only 1 restroom and it's so small it's very uncomfortable to go number 2! I was told the rv I was buying was one of they're biggest ones yet over this past year I've seen multiple rv with so much more space more and over 50% cheaper than what I paid for mine. This was definitely a learning experience for myself. I thought I could trust that these people would help me in getting the rv that fits me and my family's needs but instead they sold me an overpriced cheaply made rv. So just a warning be careful when buying from this place or any other rv place and do tons of research before settling! Just because one company doesn't have what you need doesn't mean another might not! read more

We brought our RV in for repairs, and not only did they fail to fix the original problem, but they recommended we purchase a new refrigerator and AC unit for the bedroom. The coach is a 2023, we have used it 6 times. The refrigerator will not cool and the bedroom AC worked 1 time. We have had the coach in 3 times for the AC. Now the service department at Blue compass is telling us we need to purchase a new fridge and AC unit! Is this the standard for a coach that was over $100,000 and use 6 times? Our glass shower door shattered last year, we didn't even bother with that. Seeing as how the Blue Compass service center is of no help! To make matters worse, Jeff the service manager has been repeatedly rude and condescending. He talks to my husband, a 21 year vet and fire fighter, as if he is an idiot. His communication is poor, and he makes you feel dismissed and talked down to. We purchased the coach their brand new in 2023 and trusted they would provide honest, professional service, and they fell short. I would not recommend them to anyone for purchasing or repairs. We had been contemplating a travel trailer for quite awhile. Stopped in almost two years ago. Did more research, came back and how lucky were we that Bonnie walked up and asked to help. They had the one we wanted in their yard so we went and looked even though that one was sold already we were able to order a brand new one they even threw in the second Air conditioning and the tow hitch for free. Marty was great to work with, he answered all of our questions, and kept in touch with us on all the progress of when the RV would be ready. Reaching a point in life where wife and I are looking for hit-the-road adventures. She did a ton of research and had us considering a Grand Design MKE. Over a year ago, we met with Michael Johnson, of the Santee store. We weren't near ready to buy, as I was hobbling around in need of hip surgery, which we made clear. Nonetheless, Michael was extremely helpful, informative, and professional, showing us around and explaining everything the MKE had to offer, along with other options. He has 20 years experience in the field, including extensive camping himself, and is extremely knowlegable. Over the ensuing year and a half, Micheal made himself available as a valuable and trusted resource for us. We called him I don't know how many times for advice on which type of truck to buy, what other trailers we might consider - you name it, we asked him and he helped us. Finally, just last week, we asked him if he'd look over the truck we'd purchased to give us direction as to what modifications might be necessary to prepare it to tow a trailer. He said to just bring it down to Snapdragon stadium (where they just happened to be having a big sales event), and he'd be happy to look over the truck and give us guidance, including where we could get the best deal on whatever work we'd need. Well, we did that, and ... ended up finally buying that MKE. I am confident we got the best price possible, with the best available follow-on support. I know we were treated honestly and fairly and I couldn't recommend this company more (oh, and little secret divulging here - we did check out a couple other dealers during that time, and our experience didn't come close to the 10/10 customer service we got from this organization.) You want to buy a trailer, you owe it to yourself to at least stop by this organization. You just might find you'll receive the same red carpet treatment we have. read more

We purchased a new Grand Design Imagine 2500RL from Holland RV and when we took delivery everything checked out and worked fine, until our first shakedown trip. On that trip the refrigerator was dead on arrival when we got to the camp site. Additionally we discovered that one of the spray port quick connects wasn't working and the front doors deadbolt was out of alignment and not working. Needless to say I had heard so many stories online about repairs taking months and I had a pit in my stomach. We had a job coming up out of state and I was worried that the trailer would be in the shop when we needed it for the job. I called Holland and Jeff, their service manager, got me in the rotation to have the repair done. It was about a week and a half to get the trailer in and I was promised it would be done in time for our trip. I dropped the trailer off at 9am on the agreed upon day and was expecting the worst. By 11am that same day I had a call from Jeff telling me the trailer was done and I could come pick it up!!! They fixed everything that needed to be fixed and I am back on the road!! Thanks Holland RV center. I don't expect that everything on a new RV is going to be perfect, after all it's a complex system. But what I do expect is that the dealer will make it right if there is an issue. Y'all went over and above my expectations on this! read more

We had been thinking of buying an RV and recently stopped in at Holland RV in Santee to look over the offerings at their lot on Woodside Avenue. We walked into the parking area and began to look over the nice selection of Motor homes, 5th Wheels, and travel trailers. We met a few of the relaxed, friendly staff members, and we toured some very nice RVs. We were very much impressed with the straightforward, no-pressure, informal approach they maintained while giving us all the information we needed to make a decision about which vehicle best met our needs. I bought my 2019 Keystone Passport GT 2512RL in June. Stuart Dodds was my salesperson and was great to work with. He was happily surprised that I had come in with printouts from their website of the various trailers I wanted to look at. He was not pushy and showed the various amenities and differences of each. After viewing each I chose the Passport. Prior to my picking up the trailer, they fixed a couple of small details that I noticed. I've taken it out a couple of times weekend camping and found a few more minor issues that will need to be fixed. Waiting to hear back from the Service Manager to make an appt to bring it in. As of now I give them 5 stars, and I reccomend asking for Stuart as your salesperson. All the other employees I dealt with were very friendly. read more

Santee service sucks so bad. First the first point of contact, Gala, is a really bad customer service person. She's argumentative. We took in our RV in February. At first we were told we would have to leave it, but thank goodness we did not. We read reviews regarding this exact point. Here we are at the end of April and still no parts have been ordered. In fact the service tech could not find any record of our visit/inspection. This is Gala's fault. In fact it feels a little retaliatory because we complained about her to higher ups. Not happy at all. What sucks so bad is that until the manufacturer's warranty is up, we cannot take it anywhere else. I should add that Mindy and Andre are awesome. I wish they could do more for us. Jeff H. is a very professional and courteous service manager, and he responded quickly and effectively to all my questions and concerns. I have not had any mechanical failures to fix, but I trust them with all my routine maintenance (bearings, brakes, system checks, etc.) and they have earned that trust. A big "shout-out" to Service Manager, Jeff Horne, at Holland RV, Santee, CA. I and my wife just took out my brand new 2021 Winnebago Minnie last week for the first time. We're both new to RV'ing so we camped close to home (near Santee) and unfortunately found that a few things didn't work on the RV. Jeff patiently walked me through some troubleshooting procedures over the phone, but due to my "non-mechanic, non-techy" brain I couldn't figure out what he was talking about. Jeff then personally came out to the campground with the needed part and fixed her right up. Then the day before we were to leave the campground (Friday) and when draining the wastewater tank the valve got stuck and I again called Jeff and asked if I could drop off my RV on the way home the next day (Saturday). Initially he said that because he wouldn't be able to get me checked in on Saturday, I'd have to wait till Monday to drop off my rig. I was kinda bummed since I had hoped I could just drop it off on my way back home (40 miles away), instead of having to take the rig home, disconnect it, and then have to reconnect it to take back to the RV center at a later date. But it wasn't an hour after I talked with Jeff that he called back and asked if I could have the rig to him by 11 am the next day so he could go ahead and get me checked in. Little did I know that the next day was his day off and he came back to work to just take care of me. Now that's what I call epic Customer Service! Thanks Jeff! read more

TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE! Take your business elsewhere. If I would have known Holland RV had this terrible customer service I would have never purchased my coach here! We purchased a 2019 $90k Grand Design Solitude on 8/23/18. It is now 10/02/18 and we can't travel with food in the refrigerator because it doesn't work on LP, and haven't received window covering lanyards that our salesman Don ordered on 8/23. I have taken it to the dealership (200 mile round trip) so they can fix nothing! Not even the base molding than needs to be reattached and they left lights on that drained my battery. When you are purchasing they are kind and friendly but when service is required they give you the run around. I have contacted Grand Design and they will be following up if Holland RV doesn't take care of these issues. I will update this post weekly. read more

I purchased an Iconic toy hauler from Holland RV in September. I worked with Andre Carroll. Andre was great to work with. My first trip was the beginning of November. I went to get the trailer ready and the generator wouldn't stay on. It would run for 2-3 minutes and the shut off. I called and spoke with Jeff, the Holland Santee service manager. He stayed on the phone with me and we trouble shot a couple things. But, the generator wouldn't stay on. The next day I took it to Quality RV, in El Cajon (those guys are great by the way. I cannot give them a higher recommendation.) They checked it out and it turned out it was a fuel delivery problem. Jeff called me and had arraigned to get me into the Holland RV Service Center in San Marcos. I took the trailer to San Marcos and I was in ans out in about an hour. I was very irate and angry at the fact the trailer was "broken" 2 days before my maiden voyage. Jeff was professional and courteous and did everything he could to fix the issue. In end, I lost a day driving the trailer around. However, Jeff did everything he could to help me. My family and I had a fantastic first trip in our Iconic toy hauler. read more

A Friend and I drove to Holland RV. Matt introduced himself and could probably see that I was not 'into' spending a lot of time. Matt showed me a couple of travel trailers that looked similar to everything else I looked at. He then, after listening to some of my frustrations, introduced me to a Grand Design - which I've never seen. Matt's easy-going style followed with lots of knowledge of his product... got my attention. What's more, he listened carefully to what I was looking for and matched my needs perfectly. Even still, I was tired and NOT willing to go through the "Sales Manager" attack at this point. He told me that Mike would make things easy. When Mike introduced himself, he promised NOT to to 'ambush' me with 'dealership sales tactics'.. and he followed through. He made the experience quick, painless, and efficient. We first reached out to the Santee Holland via their website. Immediately got a response from Matt. Told him exactly what we were looking for and what our price range was. He found us the perfect trailer with every single detail we were looking for. The price was a little higher than we anticipated, but we decided to go in and see it. Marty met us in the parking lot and we continued to joke back and forth like we were old friends. He was thoughtful of our (3) children in tow and asked if we needed water and directed us to their main office because it had AC (it was a hot day). Our 1 year old played peekaboo with Mindy for what seemed like ever (thanks for your patience Mindy!). We can't even play peekaboo for that long before distracting him with something shiny. We asked about how we could get the price in range of our budget (which included storage). Marty and Mike worked with us and made the deal work and on top of that, Marty found us an amazing (low cost) location for us to store our new trailer and we ended up hitting our budget with a dollar to spare! We pick up our new baby later today and can't wait. They unfortunately have some bad reviews on Yelp, but it is a numbers game. Typically the people who have a good experience, don't leave reviews. Only the people who have bad experiences. Having a company who provides service to the masses, I appreciated the sales experience and over the top good treatment and look forward to a life long relationship with Holland RV in Santee. Started out with my post of my 45 foot Jayco Seismic Wave 4113 for sale on a RV web page,I received an email a year ago from the purchasing manager of Holland Motorhomes ( Dan Blackwell) asking if he can help with us on removing the Jayco from our lives!! Haha. Very kind man and Dan called me or replied by email every time. I had a question. Contacted him a year later ( last week) through e mail, not even knowing if Dan still worked for the company and Dan replies immediately then called me. He remembered me and our conversations, he then referred us over to his selling team in Santee for the help as we live in Alpine. Matt called us maybe 10 minutes after my husband got of the phone with Dan. I cannot express how much I truly appreciate his team over at the Santee, dealership. For the time we received our phone call to the walking off the lot they took exceptionally great care of my husband and I. Matt our sales guy was never pushy, listened to me gave us options worked to get us a great deal. Now remember I have a 45 foot fifth wheel we're trying to get off our hands. Very tough situation we were in. We been trying to sell this beast or well over a year. Matt went to his sales partner Mendy who works in the sales office. She started making phone calls after phone calls Immediately to all their financing providers to get us into a new smaller RV at a great rate, which was our plan. Mindy and Matt both gave me the confidence that we were not going to be stuck with our gigantic beast for the rest of our lives. There is hope and a light at the end of the tunnel!! The sales manager mike calling all his wholesalers that he knows personally to take our RV ! The 3 of them did far and beyond to help us remove this RV off our hands without any hesitation in very quickly manner! Terrible Customer Service! We purchased our RV at Holland RV in San Marcos, CA last year. Love the RV and had pretty good service from the sales department. That said, the service department has been HORRIBLE. The walk through was rushed and we've had to learn most of the RV by trial and error. We had a fluke water leak, which Bob responded fairly quick, but the repair was never done to the factory condition and a significant mess was left behind including damage to our paint. Also, I took pictures of the insulation and what was replaced into the RV was about 1/2 the thickness of the original. I hope the R value is the same. When we contacted them at 11 months to have an AC looked at, I have received the biggest run around and have been stood up twice by BOB. I kept getting texts such as, "do you have the system on hot or AC." and "Turn off all your ACs for 20 minutes so they can reset and turn them back on." Really, they get turned off every night. It's summer in Temecula and it is getting HOT. We spent $125K, and it sure seems like once they received our money they were done with us. I understand we didn't but the $800K coach, but customer service shouldn't discriminate. read more

I hardly ever leave reviews but I feel like I should warn others before using this company. My first contact with Mike started with him telling me that what I wanted was unrealistic. Then we found an RV on site that was exactly what I wanted. I told them about my credit and they said that they had a credit union that they worked with all the time and they assured me that it would be no problem getting us approved. The only thing I had to do was put down a deposit to secure the RV. I put down $500 and waited to hear back. I called yesterday for an update (because no one was getting back to me) only to have Mike call me and say that if it wasn't for MY bad credit they would have me approved already. That is not how you treat a customer. After four days of waiting to hear, calling Holland for an update and getting nothing, I finally heard from their credit union only for them to say that they didn't even run my application and I was being denied simply based on my bankruptcy. Holland knew about the bankruptcy on the application. Now I get to wait up to 2 weeks for my deposit back. Very bad customer service as other have reported. I just wish I had read Yelp before giving them my money. read more

I didn't care for the experience of shopping at Holland RV. I purchased a RV from another dealership because Holland did not have the model I wanted in stock, nor did they plan on ordering any this year. The salesman at Holland texted me out of the blue and gave me a hard time for buying from another dealership. Just an odd experience there. read more

If I had to do it all over again I would NOT buy a new motorhome from Holland. Poor service after the sale, gives false information (really really bad thing). Last thing on the big list is when they finally sort of fixed the slide out the next time I opened it up the floor linoleum had a huge tear in it. I give up with this terrible company. I just bought a Motor Home from Holland RV in Santee..This is my 5th RV in a number of years and this was the best experience i have EVER had with ANY dealer..Brent, the salesman was great, Mike Johnson, the manager was extremely helpful and gave me a great deal, getting the Motor Home ready was Buzz, who missed Nothing. AND Mindy the person who did all the paper work, answered all my questions and in general organized and set up all the logistics to make this sale, walk-through and possession incredibly easy for me. Just purchased our brand new Grand Design Momentum at Holland RV in Santee. Can't say enough about how great the customer service is! Matt Donath was our salesmen and he was great! He wasn't pushy and annoying like many sales people at other places can often be. We also had our 5 young children with us and he was very friendly with them. I could make this a very long review saying all the reasons everything about our experience with Matt and Holland RV was amazing, but I'm just going to end it here with saying HIGHLY Recommended!!!!! Had an excellent purchasing experience of a used toy hauler @ Santee in late May. Found a minimal listing of trade in late Friday afternoon online, just at their closing time - couldn't get to the lot before. Fired off a cursory email asking for details. Went early next morning and met by Andre who had answered email (after closing) and he showed us the rig. Holland Santee was the original seller of same rig, but owner looked to trade up which wound up being to our benefit in so many ways. After initially meeting Andre, we wound up getting all sales info and questions answered by Matt Donath, who ultimately wound up consummating the sale with us/for us. Matt was attentive and patient (VERY patient), and made himself available to us in ways that matter to us. I have read previous yelp reviews that outlined concerns re: after sale availability, and poor service. We have a scheduled upgrade to be installed, and have already taken our "shakedown" trip which has resulted in a few minor fixes. If things go well, my 4 will go to a 5. If not, I will respond equally to what I feel is the overall rating should be. On the sales/information side, particularly Matt Donath, a high rating indeed. Shoulda known better. When a salesman says a 24-foot RV will get 15 MPG, you should know it's a 'one star' place. One year later...brought the RV back for service. Minor problems...when you think about it. Screw vibrated loose in the panel that covers the water tank; screws vibrated out of the hinges for that useless table in the outside compartment; screw that holds the shower drain piece corroded so bad it can no longer be seen; outside storage compartments leak when it rains; coach battery went dead; coach was advertised as a 2015 but chassis is 2014 (dealers are supposed to TELL YOU THAT before it's time to sign the paperwork), so the battery was two years old when the rig was sold "new." Anyway, my beef is: I took the RV into Holland in Santee for service on the above items. I had an appointment for Tuesday. I called on Thursday to see what the status is...IT HASN'T EVEN BEEN LOOKED AT YET! All I was looking for was an estimate to fix those items, even though some of them are design defects. I wonder HOW MUCH LONGER it would have sat there WAITING TO BE LOOKED AT if I hadn't called. When a customer calls about their item in for service, the answer is ALWAYS...IT'S NEXT TO BE LOOKED AT!! Oh, by the way, this Coachment does NOT charge the coach battery while driving. If your coach battery goes dead and you don't have external power or jumper cables...YOU'RE SCREWED. You can't start the coach batter from the chassis batter, as I could on my '98 Winnebago. I give Holland RV one star for the salesman's lies and their lack of adequate customer service. read more

We had an amazing experience with Holland RVs. We called their San Marcos office to see if we could pop in. After looking for a particular 5th wheel for weeks, we were getting a little bit discouraged because what we were looking for seemed few and far between. I called San Marcos, and they said they think they had a bunkhouse at their Santee location. Perfect, I live in Santee! He connected me with Mike Johnston and we went there that night to see the 5W. It had everything we'd wanted and were told couldn't get in something other than a 2015 (brand new) model. We are ELATED. Mike made the process fun for us, and his knowledge about recreational vehicles is extremely impressive. They have earned our business for life! I reviewed this RV center, before, it appears they have more than one site. I purchased a 2018 Falcon paid in full from Holland in Santee and have had nothing but problems. The microwave never worked, drawers flew open, fridge would not stay closed. Nail in bulkhead poking through the wall. Returned to Holland for over one month, microwave not fixed until I threatened lemon law. Got RV home and discovered outside shower hose had been removed! Supposedly going to be replaced with a new one ordered. I was just out getting ready to clean the trailer, got down to look at exactly how the hose was removed and discovered entire insert for the hose on the side unit is completely broken on the inside. If I can post a picture I will. Avoid Holland. read more

We bought our 2010 motor home at Holland Motorhomes last year. The salesman was super nice and assured us that they don't sell anything that they haven't gone over thoroughly. We found some minor problems and he promised that they would be "taken care of" by the time we took delivery, so we decided to buy it. After our payment however, their attitude changed. They did our "walk through" so fast, they shouldn't have bothered at all. The repairs had not been done as promised and the soonest appointment was a month away! After waiting a month and driving it all the way to Lakeside and then back to pick it up, our problems had not been resolved! Their service department is a joke. We opted to take it to San Diego Trailer Supply which cost us $500! If you're looking for a motor home, look elsewhere. These people don't stand behind their word! read more

We bought a 2016 Leisure Unity Flex from Kevin at Holland in San Marcos. This vehicle was exactly what we were fantasizing about having but couldn't find anywhere because there's about a year wait list for these vehicles. We lucked out because Holland had just gotten one in. Kevin, our salesperson, was amazing throughout this process. He is so personable and helpful (not to mention hilarious) with outstanding communication skills. Ron and Todd also were also excellent--friendly, straightforward and thorough in their interactions with us. This team is all about customer service! After picking up out new baby, Kevin texted us (from Hawaii) while he was on vacation to make sure our orientation had gone well and that we were happy with Holland's services. We highly recommend Kevin if you're looking for an RV. read more
