About 25 years ago we bought our insulated roll-up garage door from San Diego Door Pros. Since then, we've had to replace the springs only twice (that's once every 12-13 years), with the most recent time being one year ago as of this review writing. Each time, we had Door Pros do the service on our door. Each time, Door Pros did a professional and friendly job and prices are reasonable--that's why we keep going back to them for service. Last year, we had Door Pros replace all the rollers (and the springs, too) and replaced our noisy 40-year-old screw drive opener with a quiet side-mount opener. Again, they did a quick, professional job. A few months ago, the wheels started squeaking, and I finally got around to calling for service because who wants noisy wheels after so many months of a nearly silently operating garage door? Andy was dispatched and immediately diagnosed the problem as the wheels and hinges needing to be lubricated--and he was right (I had only ever lubricated the springs, never the wheels and hinges). He very nicely showed me how to do it myself and worked to get the hinges loosened up. He even recommended a lubricant spray available on Amazon to use every 3 months to keep the door operating smoothly and quietly. He also showed me how to check the hinges for wear and, if necessary, replace individual hinges. I am very impressed with Andy and his willingness to share his knowledge and expertise with me to keep the door and hardware in good maintenance for perhaps at least another 25 years. We will continue to rely on Door Pros for our garage door needs. read more

Andy, the lead technician who trains all the other techs there (not Andrew, the business owner) came out and did a great job, explaining everything he was doing, his history of experience, and what I should do to keep the door running well. He really knows what he's doing and takes pride in his work. One of our springs broke in our 2-car garage door a couple weeks ago. I'm SUPER happy I found the Door Pros. On Yelp of course .... Yes, Yelp is the first place I go (then BBB) to find reputible companies. Thanks to all the other reviewers, we had a great experience with San Diego Door Pros as well. From the first phone call, to Daniel driving away after fixing our door, we had a great experience. INITIAL QUOTE: Andrew came out to do our quote. He assessed our damages, gave us recommendations and within minutes (literally) showed us (on an iPad) pictures of our door options. We chose what we liked, he gave us his quote (approx. $2,000) and put us on the schedule. The quote was for an insulated door with 4 obscure windows, a new motor system, a key pad, 2 remotes plus labor and haul away of the old stuff. Pretty decent if you ask me. They were upfront about the prices and options, plus honest that they were busy and couldn't put us on the schedule for 2 weeks. Although I'd love for them to have been able to come out within a few days, not everything is a 'snap' of the finger. I knew I'd have to be patient to get something good, so we waited. THE INSTALL: Daniel, called me the morning of, saying he was 20 minutes away. I appreciate that. He was literally done within about 2 hours and I couldn't believe how beautiful and QUIET our door was. Now, although I wish we could have purchased a more unique door, our homeowners didn't allow. The one we got was within our CCR's and was perfect. He went through how everything worked and answered all of our questions. And yes, their equipment came with warranties. Purchased a property and we needed a new garage door. I reached out to a few other companies and my request was either ignored or the sales consultants just never followed-up with me. Too bad, [lack of] communication is a big red flag for me. Looking for another company I then found San Diego Door Pros. I filled out the lead generation form on SD Door Pros' website and I was quickly contacted by Jonah the following day. He made a home visit the next week to do his measurements. Jonah helped with picking the door and design, then I put my deposit on 4/17. The initial estimated lead-time to receive the door was 3-6 weeks -- add on additional time to schedule the install. All of this went smoothly. During the wait for the garage door being delivered to I called SD Door Pros a few times for status updates. Unfortunately a few times I never received a call back. The door was finally delivered to SD Door Pros around week 9, however, I had to initiate all of the communication. I scheduled install to be two weeks after delivery. Once those two weeks passed I got a call that the door hadn't been delivered... *sigh* so they had to cancel my appointment. After doing some research, they found that their inventory system had a glitch or something and showed the wrong thing. Again, I was rescheduled for install two more weeks later. Finally on July 24th, Zeke came out and installed the door. He showed up early, got to work immediately and installed the door in about 3 hours. Overall, communication could be better. The picture doesn't do the door justice. We purchased this new garage door in March of 2016. It wasn't until last month we had a first issue. I took of picture of the issue and emailed the picture and a copy of our invoice on a Sat evening. I received a response back on Monday. I don't recall all the people I worked with, but everyone at SD Door Pros was very helpful and very accommodating. I am happy to report our garage door is back to working as a garage door should. The process started out fine. Andrew came to give us a quote for replacement of our old garage door and motor. The price was competitive and Andrew was pleasant and knowledgeable. Danny came over as scheduled to replace the door. The new door looks great and worked smoothly and extremely quietly for about 5 minutes. Here is a list of why I gave a 2 star rating. 1. After 5 minutes the garage door started making loud noises everytime the door was raised. I called Andrew right away. Andrew said that Danny was too far away to come back. He would arrange for Danny to come back later. 2. The old motor bracket had to be removed as it was no longer needed. Danny did not run a blade, scribing around the bracket, where the bracket met the ceiling. So when he pulled out the old bracket the paint that was next to the bracket peeled off. See pic. 3. Also a number of bolts were left on the garage floor and pieces of bracket were left on top of the cabinets. See pic. 4. I called numerous times on different dates leaving messages without success in getting hold of Andrew. Finally on one of my many attempts to get a hold of Andrew a woman answered. I explained my frustration at not getting a return call. She apologized. I also explained to her why I needed the garage door fixed. She said she was familiar with the problem and it would be fixed. 5. Danny came back a week later with a new set of door tracks. He said these tracks were better. The door is now installed with the correct tracks and the operation is smooth and very quiet. We are very happy with end product. But much could have been done to make this situation less frustrating. Post Update 7/29 The owner Andrew contacted me and was genuinely concerned of how the installation of my garage door did not go as smoothly as expected. He said he would handle repairs to my ceiling, at no cost to me, the same day. A few hours later, he kept his word, 5 stars for that. read more

I made an appt for 12 to 1 and told them I had to leave by 1:15, offering to change to another day if they couldn't do it. No problem he said. They end up not showing and not answering the phone until 12:45 when its already too late. So I had to stay home from work waiting for this appt and my problem still isn't resolved. It turns out changing a code for a stolen opener is pretty trivial. It just took some internet searching. In the end I took care of it on my own so it actually worked out for the better. I can get a replacement on Amazon for half the price also. I would have appreciated if they told me it was something I could do on my own, rather than wait on them to never come.
