Renovated my 1940's bathroom, taking it down to the studs, and turned it into exactly what we wanted. He also made improvements to our master bathroom. I called 22 different companies in San Diego before choosing a contractor and from the start, I knew we were going to pick him. He was definitely top 3 most affordable. With his smaller company and no marketing side, you save so much overhead cost. His dad was a contractor, passing down a wealth of knowledge to go along with Steve's already lengthy career. His wife used to work in HR so even our unofficial estimated bid was incredibly detailed. Everything itemized and you knew where your money was going. You didn't just get this huge amount. Then in the actual contract, he includes a payment schedule. They use an electronic invoice service as well, making it easy to keep track of what you've paid. All laid out and professional. With someone being in your home for an extended period of time, it was important that we get someone we would be comfortable around our kids. He was great all around, great to talk to (that's how I know details of his family lol) and my kids are actually going to miss him and his crew haha. He's a tall guy but as nice and jolly as can be! Of course with any renovations, things can't be guaranteed because who knows what's behind the wall or under the floor. But he did the best he could to work with us when any unexpected cost came up. Financially fair in my opinion. We'll be using him again when we've saved up for our kitchen!

The quote specifically said PREP and paint and he did NO prep and the painting was very sloppy (see pics) When I asked him to fix it he said it would cost extra. In my bathroom, I paid him almost a thousand dollars to install a bathtub and surround, unfortunately that obviously did not include trim or caulking. (see pics) I paid him $250 to install a vanity which of course did not include installing the top or the cabinet doors (see pics). I originally hired him to put in the new sub-floor, he was friendly seemed to know what he was doing however after he refused fix the issues and yelled at me, between when I had scheduled someone to put in the new flooring, we ended up with another hole in the floor (see pics) because he did not do it correctly. I was open to him coming back to fix the issues but I have not heard a word from him. If you disregard my advice and hire him, please take note that he will not give you quotes until the day of (like 10 minutes before he shows up so you don't even see it until afterwards) and the prices are ridiculous, that mirror in the bathroom was $100 to hang. It did not need any cutting and there is STILL plastic on it so I have to take it down and rehang it. Also, after repeatedly asking him to make sure the doggie gate was up when he went in and out of my house, he allowed my deaf and blind 16 year old dog out and thought it was funny (luckily my neighbor saw him and returned him). He also yelled at me for asking him a question (I don't think I've yelled at the person signing my paycheck) so he obviously doesn't like animals or other people. I would just stay away from this guy, he does sloppy work and doesn't even stand behind his in-writing quotes. Getting an invoice from him is impossible, his record keeping is as sloppy as his work is.

Ultimately I chose ADR because of my project manager Darrell who was easy to work with, attentive to my needs, paid attention to details, and provided helpful tips and suggestions throughout the experience. For example, he had suggested MSI and Reece Bath & Kitchen to help select materials, and I was able to buy products from Reece Bath & Kitchen that were priced lower than if I bought them from big box stores. I had a very specific vision with choosing the materials, updating the layout, and paying attention to the details -- and Darrell made sure everything turned out right. His crew was very professional and did an excellent job with taking care of the details in the renovation project. I was most impressed when they laid down thick cardboard on the floor to prevent any scratching during the construction. They really take care of their clients. It's also re-assuring to know that they have a 15 year warranty. After the initial install of my kitchen sink faucet, I noticed a drip leak the next day, and the crew immediately came back to address the problem. We've had no leak since then, and everything is working great.

We recently worked with Remodel Works to remodel our master bathroom and first floor, including our kitchen, patio doors, and entertainment center cabinets. We had the pleasure of working with Kate as our designer and Daniel as our project manager, and both were exceptional throughout the entire process. Professionalism: From start to finish, Remodel Works handled our project with professionalism, organization, and clear communication. Kate walked us through every step of the design process, provided excellent suggestions, and showed tremendous patience as we worked through the many decisions involved in selecting materials. Her expertise and guidance made the design process both enjoyable and manageable. Daniel was equally outstanding. He clearly communicated the timing and details of the renovation, was frequently on site to oversee important decisions and address issues, and was always easy to reach when questions arose. Most importantly, he continued to follow up with us even after the project was completed to make sure that a few minor revisions were taken care of. That level of follow-through really stood out to us. Everyone who worked on our project was professional, courteous, and pleasant to interact with. We would often stop by to check on the progress, and we were always greeted warmly and given a quick update on what was being worked on that day. Organization: Remodel Works was extremely organized throughout the entire project. The process began with detailed renderings that allowed us to visualize what our spaces would look like. As we selected materials, we received highly realistic renderings that gave us confidence in our choices and helped us see how everything would come together. Before construction began, we received a comprehensive project package that included CAD drawings and detailed catalogs of all the materials we had selected. Daniel also spent several hours walking through the entire renovation with us before work began to make sure everyone was aligned on the plan and details. The detailed project timeline provided by Remodel Works was another huge benefit. Knowing the schedule for each stage of the renovation was incredibly helpful, particularly when planning how long we would need to stay in a rental home. Overall: Remodel Works clearly takes great pride in the quality of their work and in the experience they provide their customers. While any major home renovation inevitably comes with some disruption, Remodel Works did an excellent job of taking much of the stress out of the process through their communication, organization, and attention to detail. We absolutely love how our home turned out and are very grateful to Kate, Daniel, and the entire Remodel Works team for making the experience such a positive one. We would highly recommend Remodel Works to anyone considering a home renovation!

We completely transformed our backyard, and the final result exceeded our expectations. From the very beginning, Sean was communicative, responsive, and incredibly easy to work with. He made sure we understood every phase of the project, kept us updated, and always followed through on what he promised. What really stood out, though, was his level of commitment. More than once I texted him late at night with a question, specifically telling him there was no rush to respond until the next day--and almost every time he answered anyway. That kind of dedication is rare. The project included removing our old concrete patio, regrading the yard, installing new pavers, artificial turf, a beautiful Alumawood patio cover with lighting and ceiling fans, new vinyl fencing and gate, and several other improvements. The craftsmanship and attention to detail really show. Everything feels thoughtfully designed, and the backyard is now a space our family uses every day. One thing I'll remember most is how Sean interacted with our family. We have two young boys who were absolutely fascinated by every stage of the construction. Sean always took the time to talk with them, answer their questions, and make them feel included. They looked forward to seeing him every day, and by the end of the project he honestly felt like part of the family. Those little moments meant just as much to us as the finished backyard. The transformation is incredible. The drainage issues were corrected, the covered patio provides much-needed shade, and the combination of pavers and turf gives the backyard a clean, modern look while still being practical for our growing family. I've included before-and-after photos because they really tell the story--it's hard to believe it's the same backyard. If you're considering a backyard renovation, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Sean Shlomo Noriani. He genuinely cares about his customers, takes pride in his work, and delivered a backyard our family will enjoy for many years to come.

I'm giving Milan Design + Build four stars for my recent bathroom remodel. There was a lot to like…read moreabout the process, but a few technical design choices kept it from being a perfect five-star experience. The Pros: Permit Handling: They were fantastic at expediting the permit process with the city. Especially Sean and Abigail for calling the city almost daily. This saved me a massive headache and kept the project moving forward. Flexibility: Sean Shlomo Norianl was the project manager and Martin was the site manager. They were both friendly and open to talking over about the plan, especially when I point out potential issues. The whole work crew were also easy to work with and accommodating to my schedule and requests. Aesthetics: The overall finish and "look" of the bathroom is beautiful. The craftsmanship on the tiling and fixtures is visually high-end. The Cons: The "functional" design of the shower floor missed the mark for me: Extreme Grading: The slope toward the drain is quite aggressive. It feels noticeably "sunken in" when you stand in it, which is a bit jarring compared to the rest of the floor. Door Clearance: They opted not to install a raised ledge (curb) for the glass door. Because the door sits so low to the ground, it cannot swing outward if there is a bath mat placed outside. It's a small detail that has a big impact on how I use the space daily. Bottom Line: I would recommend them for their efficiency and professionalism, but I'd advise future clients to be very specific about the technical layout of everything and check the work to make sure you are happy with everything. If you are not, tell Sean right away. UPDATE: Sean reached out and offer to make the shower flooring right. This is why I would always recommend working with Sean and his crew because they will work with you. I'm updating the review to a 5 star.
