This is a great family friendly place. I've never had anything there I didn't like. Yummy hibachi and even yummier sushi. The kids love the entertainment from the hibachi chefs. My only complaint is that they aren't open all day! Go for a delicious lunch and save a little cash. read more

Great restaurant, best cooked steak I've had in a long time, a little high on the tag , but all worth it, shrimp was great, sushi was great , but most important not crowded, I dislike big crowds. I can tell you if you like Benihanas it is better and service is also way better! Great show , I was a little upset at first, when I go to a Japanese steak house and have a Hispanic person doing my show and food, but after he was done me and my family were very pleased, the guy in our next table was Oriental but he was burning their food and dropping things, so my guy at my table was way better. Went here on a whim on a Sunday at 12pm. It was really packed but we were able to be seated immediately. My girlfriend and I placed our order with our waitress and.....we never heard from her again. I'm assuming our waitress was swapped and while they were both friendly, our wait was horribly long. We must've got lost in the shuffle; a table of 4 was seated right next to us 5-10 after we got seated, but they got their entire order at least 20 minutes before we did, and finished their meal and left shortly after we barely received our food. Their food kept coming and coming and I was so confused. I'm pretty sure our new waitress (who never told us she is our waitress now) only noticed because she must've wondered what the heck we were doing just twiddling our thumbs every time she came back to check on the table next to us. I asked her what is going on and she could only say it's coming it's coming. We must've waited 50 minutes before we finally we got our food and we thought it was pretty good. Left a nice tip and figured we just got unlucky so we decided we'd come again. Well, we go again the next Sunday same time, get seated at the same table, and have a different waiter this time. Again, very friendly. This time it wasn't very busy and our sushi came out very quick, like 5 minutes, but the kitchen food took FOREVER again. Waited at least 35 minutes this time...what the heck!? We just ordered a lunch bento and a ramen. I liked the food but didn't love it like I did the first time and the service was unacceptably slow for us again. I cannot speak on the hibachi experience here but for regular dining, this place has potential but unfortunately we will not be returning again. read more

Horrible experience and I will never return! We were celebrating my daughters 12th Birthday and more guest arrived than planned. The manager Anna told me I "lied" to her when I asked her to accommodate the additional guest and was upset talking under her breath when we asked to be seated at a larger table. You would think a smart business manager/owner would want the additional revenue... but clearly this dumbtard obviously lacks business knowledge. Three words: Happy Hour Sushi! They have happy hour weekdays and sushi is priced really nicely! I love spider rolls, and they have them cheap! The live chef action on the grills is cool to watch, and the grill food is great. Tables are large, so if you are a small group, be prepared to share your table with others. It is actually a nice touch (kind of reminds me of Uno in Chicago, where you have no choice but to sit with strangers). The food is amazing, they will allow for dietary requests too. I have tried just about every combo grill offering, including the Filet Mignon, Only after my server suggested i try the Chateau Briand, did i really get my taste buds in a very happy state. The steak is so tender and so flavorful. A very generous portion too. The guys that ordered the filet mignon we a bit envious. I am willing to bet they ordered the Chateau Briand the next visit. I love the soup they bring out, it is simple, clear brith with a few small thin sliced mushrooms. The salad can be very opwerful in comparison, but i beleive prepares your palette for what is to come. The fried rice is very good, as well as the grilleg veggies. I do like the production, showy part too, even though i know what is going to happen. it definately can be a family outing, may be expensive though. The WORST staff on the planet. The woman up front who is the manager said her name is May told us not to come back and was literally talking trash because I asked why they were forcing us to pay 18% gratuity for 2 adults, 2 kids, and a baby WHO DIDN'T ORDER ANYTHING. We tip 20% but I do not appreciate being forced to tip 18% unless I so choose. The baby ate off my plate and barely ate since he's 2. They force kids 9 and up to order adult meals and then offer only the kids 8 and under free ice cream while my 11 & 9 year old is supposed to watch? So of course we decline their "free" ice cream since only half our kids can have it. All cheap but forgivable... BUT that manager May... no way.... she was calling me names "idiot American", "stupid women" telling me to not come back for asking a very simple question. Who does that? Came here today and miss out on HH which ends 7pm. For $20 we got pretty good amount is sushi. Food was good. Then we started to order caterpillar and crunch roll TOGO then the disappointment came in when we went home and open out Togo order. The roll was so little I think it's the size of my two finger together. Well for $10 it's should been better. If I know I pay for this much I would rather go to a buffet. The food was just okay. The service from the waitress was the worst I have ever seen. I ordered streamed rice but got fried rice after tell the waitress I couldn't eat eggs. She got upset and said you ordered fried rice. By the time she returned, my food was cold. My son's girlfriend ordered Sushi which she got but they also served her Hibachi chicken which she didn't order. Again the waitress got upset telling her you did order chicken. The waitress said she would take care of it. We never got any drink refills because, it appeared the waitress was busy watching TV in the party room with the other waitstaff. When I got the bill, I was shocked to see that we had been charged extra for the fried rice. The menu indicated it was included with the meal. The Hibachi chicken she said she would take care of was on my bill. When I asked her about it, she walked away and returned with a takeout box. As to not make a scene, I handed her my card credit so we could just get out of there. I will not return to this restaurant or recommend it to anyone. We came for Saturday lunch - It was a 3.5 star experience. Located in a strip mall, it isn't much to look at from the outside. However, we were promptly greeted and seated. Our server was efficient and polite. The miso soup was an unexpected highlight to the meal. Like wise, the salad's ginger dressing was sweet, but tasty. The salad was fresh. No insight on the sushi for this trip. If we return, we will skip the hibachi and eat sushi. Our Hibachi cook station was clean. The chef was fun and really skilled. Who knew you could throw eggs up in the air and slice them with the edge of a spatula without shards of shell in the fried rice? The obligatory onion volcano and train were performed, too. The experience would have been better with friendly table mates. In the past, it has been a great experience to meet people and share a meal. Often, a little light conversation and humor ensues. This time our neighbors texted, ignored the chef, spoke at normal conversational tones the entire meal, and expressed no gratitude for the chef's performance. I deducted a star because of meh vegetarian entree and the chicken fried rice was dry and lacked flavor. The fried rice is an expected up charge, but is wonderful at most places. Maybe an off - day? Hubs ate the steak and shrimp dinner. The steak was cooked to the requested temp. The shrimp could have been cooked a little less, but it was a good flavor and not too tough. The eggplant was the star of the vegetarian entree, but there was very little of it. I enjoyed the hub's traditional veggie options much more than mine. I gave him my broccoli to trade for a few bites of his veggies. I left with much of my entree uneaten - not horrible, but reminiscent of the frozen mixes: a few mushrooms, a few carrots, and lots of bean sprouts. read more

As with many places, you sometimes don't know how good a place is until there's a problem, and then you see how they handle it. Well... we finally had a problem and this restaurant just didn't handle it well at all. Then we gave them a second chance, and they didn't do well at that either. So what went wrong? Well, let's start with, if I'd written this review a year ago, it would have been a glowing five-star review. But something about this place has changed recently. Not only is the food-quality worse than it used to be, but the place just isnt' as clean as it used to be either. That's where or most recent visit started wrong. We were seated at a hibachi table that was just filthy. There was fried rice stuck in the corners and grease on the table itself. The grill grate was just nasty, nasty, and there was food on the floor where the chef cooks and stands. There was also grease dripping from the venthoods above our heads. Used to, ice cream was offered for free as part of the meal and so was hot tea. They apparently no longer offer free ice cream with the meal and no free tea. The waiter was quite rude and acted as though he didn't want to be there or else didn't want US to be there. We weren't given an option for the dressing on our salads, so he brought us the peanut dressing and I wanted ginger. i asked for it to be sent back and to have the ginger dressing instead, but then he took it back and never brought me the salad back. He also never brought us the bowls of soup. The food and the chef were good. Though it seems the portions have gotten much smaller since we first found this place. The chefs are always pretty good. We've never had a bad chef. But their management stinks. And I don't mean that in a literal sense... I'm sure they smell fine. But they are rude. The female manager I spoke with both times I had an issue was simply unwilling to admit they had done anything wrong and it was somehow our fault that the waiter forgot to bring us soup, of that he didn't ask what dressing we wanted, or that he took the soy sauce and salt and pepper and sugar off the table before the meal was over (because he claimed they were closing, even though it was 20 minutes prior to closing time), or that he was rushing us and didn't bother to ask if we wanted dessert (which we did, because we love the green tea ice cream), and it was our fault, apparently, we didn't get the hot green tea we were supposed to get. After being treated quite rudely by one of the female managers, she finally agreed to discount our bill by $10. Unfortunately, between the cleanliness declining, the portions decreasing, the poor management, and just an overall change in the restaurant, we probably won't bother to go back again and will look for a better place in the future for hibachi. As for wheelchair accessibility--well, any place that does double entry doors (where you walk in one door and then immediately have to open and walk through another) makes it very difficult for people with wheelchairs to enter. The logistics of it are that a person in a wheelchair usually needs someone to hold the door for them, but then if they go through into the vestibule and can't open the second door, the person holding the first door can't get around them to get to the second door. So entry is a little awkward, but it's do-able. If you sit at most of the tables, the wheelchair fits-- but a few of the tables near the walls will make manuevering difficult because there's just not enough space between the wall and the table, and to make it worse, they sometimes line the walls with unused chairs. Lastly, access to the bathroom is down a long corridor, where they also line the corridor with unused chairs, making the corner turn really difficult with a wheelchair. I can make it with my electric chair, but not with my manual one. My family member had to move all the chairs to allow me to pass. read more

So from the looks of other reviews, it seems I just got random terrible service. But that's what it was, terrible. Rude and unfriendly, our waiter forgot or didn't want to get what we asked for (simple things like lemons). My father has an aversion to onion soup so he asked to substitute miso instead. This is a dollar extra. On the menu it's only 50 cents more than the onion soup and when I brought this up he curtly replied that there were no substitutions and that seemed to be the end of the story. Their chef creates the best spciy tuna I've had in the state, and I would recommend them to anyone. Well, I like it! Maybe because I have good memories of times there and the people I was with, but I like the food too! I've been to several hibachi places and sometimes they give you such tiny portions and a huge bill. The portions are a good size here and they do a great job. The rice is so good I want to climb in the bowl, but also, when you ask for your steak medium rare, they make it medium rare. So are I've gotten the sirloin, the fillet, shrimp and scallops. The scallops were a little small but the sauces are sooooo good and the other things make up for it. Sometimes the chefs seem a little grumpy. We've had some happy ones and some grumpy ones, but all and all, I'll be back. read more

Came here for a friend's private birthday so we were seated in the reserved dining rooms. The way the chef cooked the food right in front of us was very entertaining and he tossed bits of cooked egg to catch in our mouths, so performance wise it was nice. However, you get food depending on where you're seated. The seats are arranged around the grill in a semi square type counter and he distributes food from the center outward. My friend and I sat at the edges so we barely got ANY food! The middle people would get portions but then he would run out and give us scraps. I was upset the first few times but thought he would make up for it with other dishes. But he didn't. My friend and I kept getting the leftovers and found ourselves unsatisfied towards the end of the meal. Definitely not looking forward to coming back here. read more

We used to visit this place pretty regularly. at least once a month, and loved it. The food was great, the service was great, and the atmosphere was wonderful. Recently though it has changed. the last two times we have went the wait has been significantly more then they told us when we checked in. The first time we had a small group and waited. They told us 20-25 minutes, but it ended up taking almost and hour and a half. The second time, they again told us 20-25 minutes, and after an hour, and watching 3 tables of people who arrived after we did get seated (they said they had reservations) we finally just got up and left. I cant comment on the food quality or anything else, since we didnt stick around, but the beer was cold. I understand things happen, and people take longer then normal to eat, but give the customer a real time and let them decide if its worth staying to them or not. If its going to be an hour say so. This was our alternative Saturday Night dinner spot, since PF Changs in Bay Area would not officially open until Monday. The place is actually an Hibachi restaurant and that seems to be their specialty. Most of the restaurant is set up for Hibachi dining and a small area and the bar are for Sushi. I thought the samurai they had guarding the front door was a neat touch (not a real one though... NOW that would have been cool! lol). When we got to the hostess we saw a blackboard with drink specials. I asked the server what the special was on the drinks and she said: "Special drink, not special price" my friend and I had a good laugh at that, who does that!? The drinks were $8.95. We asked the bar tender to make us something different and he did a great job. I have no idea what I had... It had vodka in it (I guess) and it was good. We had edamame and gyoza as appetizers and two sets of rolls each. Each set of rolls was about $12-16. The sushi was OK, nothing spectacular. This was only a few days ago and I already forgot my rolls. I think I had the Crunch roll, which had crab in it and some other rainbow something roll. The service was Ok as well. We both love hibachi, and have eaten it all over the country and this place is at the bottom. First we shared a California Roll, which was okay, but very small and you only get four. How this place has such a high rating I have no idea. I went at 2 PM on a Saturday. Slow time, right? I was by myself and sat at the sushi bar. My waitress came by to take my drink order and I told her I would have a water, but I would like to order wine with my Sushi. She brought my water to me, but no wine menu? Weird. OK let me request and wine menu now. At any rate, I tell her what I like in my Sushi and if she has any suggestions. I'm pretty specific about what I like and tell her I like spicy, raw, not fried and no cream cheese. She acts a little put out to help or make suggestions and immediately points to something on the menu that is fried with cream cheese. Then, she proceeds to tell me I can get it without the cream cheese. OK?! So let me try this again, tell me some of the more popular rolls so I can take a look at them and decide for myself. At this point, she rambles off the popular items so quickly I'm struggling to keep up. As I'm reviewing these items, another person comes up and asks for my drink order and I told him I'm still waiting on the wine list. The wine list reads like the bottom shelf at Kroger's. Seriously?! It is a flipping joke. I settle on the Lamerca Prosecco because I figure it's the individual bottle and it will at least be served fresh. My Sushi is handed to me. The first one is called fish zero or something of that nature. I cannot exactly remember and it is OK. Fresh, has some nice flavor, but I'm not terribly excited about it. My second one comes out and I don't remember what it's called but it has orange oil on it and all you can taste is orange oil. It was seriously like eating the peel off an orange. I may have just as well just sat there and ate an orange because I could not taste any of the fish or anything else for that matter. This place is a joke. VERY GOOD! Reasonably priced and funny staff (especially those who know it is your first time, Kinda like a small comedy show on a grill!) They usually have a pretty good deal for the special and their sushi is flavorful. The only bad thing is sometimes you have trouble finding a parking space because it is very popular! Easily one of the best sushi restaurants that I have ever been too. The fish is always very fresh (particularly the unagi eel roll) and the service is superb. The cooks are among the best and most personable I have ever been around. Every time I go, they make sure to greet me by name and offer a cook's special (always very tasty). I have not tried the Hibachi yet, but from the looks of my coworkers plates and satisfied smiles, I can say that it also would be an excellent option. Easily worth the wait, and if you don't have time for that, pull up a chair at the bar. You won't be disappointed. read more
