They helped me move from Exeter, NH to Natick, MA. The guys were really polite, helpful and did a good job with my stuff. Only damage was one mirror that got shattered because it fell (and we had not wrapped it) - the guy was really apologetic, and I was like don't worry about it. One other nice Ikea side chest with drawers had a few scratches on it - this one, he claimed that he wrapped it in a blanket in his truck, but I doubt that he did. Either ways, I would definitely recommend them and use them again. I'd just be a bit more careful with packing my stuff (I was pretty thorough this time too), but one of the better movie experiences that I've had. 85$ / hour on a Saturday. I initially hired Samson Movers for my local move because it was the lowest of 3 quotes I had received to move from a 1 bedroom apartment in Malden, MA to another 1 bedroom apartment in Cambridge, MA. I hired Samson Movers about a month or two before my move-date, and every time I had a question, Mike emailed me back within 24 hours every time. Well in advance of my move-date, I knew that I was confirmed, the time of arrival, how many workers would arrive, how long it might take, and I also received confirmation that they would disassemble and reassemble my bed, etc. The two staff that arrived were Sasha and Uri. They arrived fifteen minutes early, and were super nice and accommodating. I am a single woman, and felt comfortable with them as they loaded/unloaded throughout the day. They kept me informed of the time frame that morning, and I knew a good approximate time of when they would be finished. I thought I had packed well before they arrived. But I realized that there were many boxes that I did not seal, or I had loose items that were not packed (i.e. wall art) that I failed to notice. Without hesitation Sasha and Uri taped up boxes, covered furniture with blankets to prevent scratching or stains, and treated all of my items with the utmost care. When it was time for them to go, there were no surprises with regard to billing. I knew pretty much what the charge would be, based on the quote provided. It was a very comfortable exchange because they didn't try to charge me for hidden costs, etc. Without hesitation I give Samson Movers 5 stars. If I have to move again, I will call them. read more

I used Samson Lines for a recent cross-town apartment move, from a 1st floor unit to a 3rd floor unit. Originally, I selected them because their bid came in $30 under anyone else (for a 1 BR, they recommended two movers instead of three and offered a discount for a mid-week move early in the month), but would definitely use them again, regardless of the price. The movers they sent were quick and efficient, and had most of my items cleared out in under an hour. They took excellent care of my items, and based on the speed at which they blanket furniture and pack it securely into the truck, they're definitely professionals. The whole move took just 3 hours, plus a 40 min charge for their travel time. Plus, you can't beat flat rate to/from travel - some will charge you by the minute which can get really expensive if you have a Monday 9am move scheduled! Best $300 bucks I've ever spent! read more

Horrible service! I spoke with Mike initially and he seemed very nice and accommodating over the phone. Day of the move the workers were 35 minutes late and no one bothered to call me..I called Mike twice and emailed him, but he never returned my call. The move itself was fine, except that they were in a rush and broke a ceramic vase, which I didn't didn't complain about (no big deal to me). The next day or so I realize that one of my boxes is missing and when I called Mike to ask if a box was accidentally left on the truck because it wasn't at my old apartment either. I told him I wanted to file an insurance claim, but he said it wasn't possible-when I clearly had insurance in the package I purchased! Additionally, he accused me of being a liar and just wanting extra money...I don't want anything extra just the reimbursement for my missing things that they were responsible for. He also laughed at me at multiple occasions saying "yeah yeah I know you type of people..just want money back". I was not only insulted, but furious! I'm currently in conversation with BBB about this situation. Definitely don't recommend- I would rather pay a bit more than to deal with this company ever again! read more

After much research to find movers to take on my move from NYC to Boston I came across Samson on Craigslist. I'm always weary of Craigslist ads, but I went to their website and determined they were indeed legit. They were also the best price quote I received from my research. The move was today and I couldn't write a review quickly enough (my new Russian friends just left 5 minutes ago). They left Boston at 3AM this morning to beat all the traffic so they arrived 2 hours earlier than expected which was fine, although my ride was still coming at 11, so they knew they would have to wait for me to arrive in Boston. They not only loaded the truck quickly, but they also did so with care to my things. They even disassembled my IKEA desk and bed so that it would fit through the doorways. I gave them large bottles of water and $20 for lunch. It was the least I could do for these two courteous men. Upon arrival in Boston they unloaded everything with care and had me direct them to where everything went. They reassembled my bed and desk! It was perhaps the smoothest, stress-less move I've ever had!!!! I wish I could give more that 5 stars. EVERYONE SHOULD USE SAMSON MOVERS! The flat rate quote was what I paid (plus I opted to add in a wrap for my mattress for $8). I tipped them $100. They were genuinely happy. After making a reservation with a local company and finding out two days before my Aug 1 move that they did not have record of my reservation, I was panicked! I found an ad for Samson Lines on craigslist and I am so happy I did! I had an appointment quickly scheduled less than 48 hrs in advance. Not only were both of the men (Paul and Judan) incredibly pleasant (and tolerated my mother), they arrived 15 minutes early, loaded and unloaded in record time, and helped put everything just where it needed to be in my new apartment. Just incredibly hard working. I was so impressed with how quickly and efficiently they did everything- as was my mother, and trust me, she's a lot harder to impress! I have moved several times since living in Boston, and this was the first time that I haven't felt like an absolute maniac! I did NOT hire this company. I got the run-around right out of the gate. I contacted them through the Yelp website and they were very vague on every topic. They have different hourly rates for different days of the week(understandably) but, when I told them I could do a mid-week move, the tone change to 'May thru October' rates. Wait, What? They advertise all-inclusive rates with no hidden fees but, further into the conversation, I was told I needed to pay per hour for (unsupervised) travel time to and from their location. Wait, What? Where is your location exactly??? Then, Mike V., the "owner" who is clearly depicted as a Caucasian male, called with a strong Latin accent, telling me that he would rather not discuss fees on Yelp's message feed. When I said, "Why, because it's public?" He responded, "No, because we don't check that mail very often". I pointed out that he responded to my messages in Yelp very quickly, to which he replied, "Yelp notifications pop up on my phone". Wait, What? Total contradiction...! This company is very misleading and shady. The pictures on Yelp and their supposed website are fictitious and downright fraudulent. No legitimate company with a fleet of trucks would be secretive about the company's location, nor would one Latino guy solely run such a large and "reputable" company. Also, all reviews dating back ten years or more mention the same two people that show up Shasha and Yuri....Wait, What? Where's white Mike? Lol read more

This is the second time we've hired Samson movers and they were really great. The movers arrived early and were kind and courteous throughout the day. They are really great with wrapping and transporting furniture and dismantling/rebuilding things like bed frames, tables, and sofas. We moved into a larger space so when unloading the truck, they brought boxes etc into appropriate rooms to make it easier for us when we unpack. I appreciate how efficient and thoughtful they were. I was grateful they were available the last weekend in August, and were willing to find a time that fit my schedule. The movers arrived on-time and (as another poster already commented) went to work immediately. I was very impressed with how much stuff they moved and the speed with which they packed their moving truck. Obviously, when you choose a moving company, you have to rely almost solely on recommendations or reviews (like Yelp) but I am happy to say that the concerns I had (would they be careful with my stuff? would they move slowly, since they are getting paid hourly? can I trust them to move items that are valuable to me?) going in weren't issues with Samson Lines. Hired these guys for my move from Watertown to Central MA. Their rates were the most competitive of the 10 or so companies I got quotes from. They sent 2 guys that were very careful with all my furniture and a truck that was plenty big enough for all our stuff. These guys weren't huge, but they were strong and moved my heavy furniture out like it was nothing. They did a great job wrapping everything up and taking my furniture apart and putting it back together where I wanted it. Everything made it in the same condition that it was when they packed it. I moved into a house with a long driveway and they did drive over my new grass next to the driveway and dug up my grass a good bit, which is the only reason they didn't get 5 stars. Even because of that, I wouldn't hesitate using these guys again. read more

I used Samson Movers on the busiest moving day (Sept 1), and they were the cheapest out of a dozen or so moving companies that I had called. Also every time I contact them prior to my move, I always received a quick and prompt response. My movers showed up relatively on time, and completed my move within 2.5 hours! They were quick and efficient, and the pricing was fair. However the only thing I'd like to call out is that they charged me the use of packing tape, which I told them to use my tape in the beginning and they said that had their own. Third time using Samson Movers for local moves! They are amazing, and were somehow able to maneuver large pieces of furniture up a narrow, winding staircase with no problem at all. I expected that I would need to touch up the paint in the staircase walls after the move, but there's not so much as a scratch on the walls. A huge plus, they disassembled and reassembled our son's complicated loft bed, which I fully expected to have to do myself (and spend half the day doing so). I used Samson Lines on 12/29/2010. the original appt was for the day before (12/29), however, due to the huge snowstorm that was the day before, I called and asked if we could move it to the next day. Thankfully they were not booked and were there at noon on the dot. They were fast and thorough, despite having to take some things apart and wrap. We were out of my old place and over to the new within 2hrs! The bad part was, once I got to my new residence, it had not been plowed or shoveled out at all and we were on a major road! I got there before the movers so I called to prepare them. They were calm, told me not to worry, and that they would figure it out. When they arrived, we all started shoveling and they began unloading within 10 minutes! The only other problem we ran into was that my full size mattress would not go up the stairs. I panicked. Once again, Alex was calm and told me not to worry. They were able to get it in through the window. They were organized, professional, prepared for any issues or problems, friendly, and made this otherwise stressful situation, calm! Everything was set up, put together, in the rooms I asked them to be, with no mishaps. All this, including travel time and shoveling, was done within 4 hours. No extra billing surprises. We spoke with Mike and received a reasonable quote (lower than Gentle Giant and the same as one other company) to move my daughter into her Beacon Hill studio apartment on Saturday, 9/3/16. Based upon the discussion, we hired Samson Movers. Sasha and Yuri arrived on the day of the move and were professional and experienced. They wrapped a cherry dresser, high boy and tables in moving quilts, and moved a leather loveseat, full size bed, mattress, box spring, and 15 boxes up a narrow staircase to the third floor; they were careful and quite fast. They were done from start to finish in 2.25 hours including driving time from the western suburbs to Boston and the bill came in below the estimate. Amazing! I was a little bit cautious because of prior horrendous and horrible experiences with other movers and I let them know about my anxiety ahead of time. This was the best moving experience I ever had hands down. Most movers said that this move would take two days to complete but these guys worked from 8am till 10pm at night (and then drove back to Boston) because I wanted it done in one day. They were kind, respectful, friendly, and very flexible (because I had to change my move date just a few days before since the landlord canceled our agreement.) Moving is a very stressful event as anyone that has had to do it can attest. I recently had to move a house into storage and then move the stuff out of storage after relocating back to the area. Mike and the guys at Samson are great. I booked them originally to move furniture from a house to a storage area. they showed up on time and loaded up everything and padded all the stuff. When we arrived at the storage unit they were great I had no idea how much space I would need and they packed everything in and even saved me having to rent another unit. I then used them a couple of months later when I relocated to take my stuff to my new place. They were on time professional and moved everything in and even set up some of my furniture. they did a great job and I will use them for all my moving needs.
